- Chapter 15 - What Should I Do If My Wife Loves Me Too Much? (Part 15)
When she woke up the next day, the sensation of being drowned in water and abandoned by the world had vanished.
Lin Song seemed to have forgotten her drunken performance. She got up early to head to work, and when Bai Jun video-called her later, Lin Song’s expression showed no signs of anything unusual.
Puzzled by her feelings from the previous night, Bai Jun secretly called her doctor. The doctor explained that car accident survivors often experience various forms of post-traumatic stress, and perhaps her reaction was simply one of those manifestations.
After debating for a while, Bai Jun decided to keep the incident to herself and not tell Lin Song. After all, that feeling had only lasted for a fleeting moment.
Besides, Lin Song was busy enough as it was.
Lately, Lin Song had been coming home later and later. She moved so quietly upon her return that if Bai Jun hadn’t found her unfolded quilt neatly tucked away every morning, she would have suspected Lin Song hadn’t come back at all.
On the second evening, Bai Jun specifically picked out a few elegant-looking dresses from the wardrobe.
For some reason, her adult self’s closet was filled with old-fashioned and rigid clothing. She struggled to find even two or three pieces that were presentable. Clearly, the twelve-year-old version of her had been a little girl who loved to dress up.
Since she was about to meet her secretary, she couldn’t stay in loungewear like she had the past few days. Bai Jun wanted to look as decent as possible. Fearing she might forget in the morning, she hung the chosen outfit on the outside of the wardrobe.
Bai Jun didn’t sleep soundly that night. Someone seemed to be nearby, whispering incessantly.
Through a hazy daze, she felt someone let out a cold snort and pinch her cheek with moderate force.
“Bai Jun, you’re really something! I’m out there exhausting myself playing politics, and because I’m worried about you, I don’t dare fully tear off the mask with those villains. Yet here you are, planning to dress up so beautifully just to see Xu Tu…”
Feeling uncomfortable, Bai Jun rolled over, and the person immediately fell silent.
However, seemingly fueled by an inner fury, the person leaned back in after a while, their voice full of grievance.
“You were the one who provoked me first, calling me your wife.”
“If you ever change your mind or try to run off with someone else, I will definitely…”
The person finally stopped talking.
Because Bai Jun felt the surroundings were too noisy, she instinctively reached out from under the quilt and pulled the source of the sound into her embrace.
The skin she touched was soft and silky. Bai Jun couldn’t help but stroke it a few times before finding a comfortable position, nesting into the person’s neck and pulling them even closer.
The person finally settled down. Bai Jun heard a soft, delighted chuckle.
In her grogginess, she felt the person take her hand and place it somewhere warm and soft. Only then did the person wrap their arms around Bai Jun’s waist with satisfaction, making no further sound.
Bai Jun slept very well that night.
It was as if there were a glowing furnace beside her, constantly providing warmth. She felt a bit hot, but the comfort provided by that person was so immense that Bai Jun couldn’t bear to let go.
Thinking about the secretary’s arrival, Bai Jun set her alarm for seven o’clock.
When the alarm went off, Bai Jun opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Lin Song’s exquisite, perfect jawline.
Why hadn’t Lin Song gone to work yet?
As her physical senses slowly returned, Bai Jun’s eyes widened. How did she end up inside Lin Song’s quilt?
Bai Jun instinctively reached for the alarm, only to feel an exceptionally soft sensation in her palm!
?!
Bai Jun’s face turned scarlet and her scalp prickled. She never imagined she would have such a habit after falling asleep! Oh, she wasn’t like this as a child; it must be a shameful bad habit she developed as an adult.
Afraid that a sudden movement would wake Lin Song, she kept her eyes on her while carefully withdrawing her hand.
However, as luck would have it, just as she moved her hand, she met Lin Song’s opening eyes.
Lin Song looked a bit dazed, clearly not yet realizing what had happened, but at that moment, Bai Jun wanted nothing more than to disappear into the floor.
It was so embarrassing!
She opened her mouth to explain, but she had no idea what to say.
Lin Song, however, reacted by bashfully lowering her head.
“Xu Tu is coming over today,” Lin Song explained softly, giving the reason she hadn’t gone to work. “I was afraid you’d be awkward, so I stayed to meet her with you.”
“Did you… want that?” Lin Song looked at her with eyes full of affection and a flushed face. “Time might be a bit tight, but if you want to…”
“I, I don’t! It’s just that you’re so beautiful, I was momentarily blinded by your beauty…”
Bai Jun swallowed and stammered with a red face, quickly pulling her hand back. She felt increasingly humiliated; compared to her own jumpiness, Lin Song was truly generous!
Bai Jun reaffirmed her resolve: once she got to know Xu Tu, she had to ask for those relevant materials as soon as possible.
“Oh.”
Lin Song’s expression didn’t change despite being rejected. She seemed happy because of Bai Jun’s polite compliment, letting out a low laugh and intimately rubbing her nose against Bai Jun’s. “Junjun is very beautiful too.”
“I want Junjun to help me change today, okay?”
Her wife was speaking sweet words so delicately, her beautiful eyes overflowing with love. Bai Jun simply couldn’t refuse.
Lin Song made the request so naturally that they must have done this regularly before. Bai Jun felt she had already been dragging her feet in their intimate relationship and had just rejected Lin Song once; if she refused this as well, Lin Song might not say it, but she would surely be hurt.
Her silence was taken as consent by Lin Song.
Lin Song gave a soft laugh, sat up in bed, brushed back her hair, and pulled down the zipper of her nightgown.
Bai Jun didn’t know where to look. she wanted to see but was too embarrassed to watch, and the hand helping with the zipper couldn’t stop trembling.
Fortunately, Lin Song didn’t require much help, only asking her to hand over the clothes.
By the time Lin Song was dressed, Bai Jun—whose face was as red as a tomato—realized too late that this was the outfit she had prepared for herself the night before.
But Lin Song was already wearing it.
“The clothes Junjun prepared for me are so beautiful,” Lin Song said, looking at her happily.
Although Lin Song was tall, she was slender, so the dress was actually a bit big on her. But since Lin Song liked it so much, Bai Jun naturally wouldn’t ask her to change.
“This is the suit you usually like the most,” Lin Song said, walking to the wardrobe and handing Bai Jun the most rigid and conservative suit. “Xu Tu is coming today. She’ll be very happy to see you greeting her so formally.”
Does my adult self really like this kind of clothing?
Bai Jun stared in disbelief. But Lin Song’s gaze looked so sincere, and the wardrobe was indeed full of such suits. Bai Jun had to accept the fact that her adult self’s aesthetic had become bizarre.
“You should go wash up!” Afraid Lin Song would offer to help her change in return, Bai Jun took the initiative and spoke hurriedly. “I’ll see you in the dining room in a bit.”
Lin Song was indeed obedient. She gave her a smiling look and a delighted kiss on the cheek before leaving the room.
Bai Jun changed her clothes quickly. Standing before the mirror, she almost didn’t dare look at her reflection.
The woman in the mirror had a youthful face, but her gaze was cold and rigid. The stiff suit obscured her proud figure, making her look incredibly mature and stodgy. While she didn’t look ugly, it didn’t fit Bai Jun’s current taste at all.
But this was indeed her custom-tailored size.
Bai Jun was nearly moved to tears by her adult self’s lack of style! How could her taste have downgraded to this level? She secretly resolved to replace every rigid piece of clothing in the wardrobe and become a fashionable, elegant, and beautiful CEO as she walked downstairs indignantly.
Lin Song was already sitting in the living room. She seemed to love this look on Bai Jun, praising her the moment she saw her: “Junjun, you look so good! President Li and President Wang could never pull off this aura…”
Bai Jun’s cheeks warmed. She cleared her throat and instinctively lifted her head. She wasn’t bragging, but while her beauty might not compare to Lin Song’s, she was top-tier in the CEO circles. With her face and figure, nothing she wore would actually look ugly.
“Junjun,” Lin Song suddenly whispered after she sat down.
“The back of my collar is a bit itchy,” she said, looking at Bai Jun bashfully. “Could you help me check if there’s something there?”
It was a simple task, so Bai Jun naturally agreed. She leaned over and began to check carefully for Lin Song.
Their heads were close together. From a distance, it looked as if they were huddled in an intimate embrace, whispering to one another.
This was exactly the scene Xu Tu saw when she walked through the door.
Xu Tu froze, her face turning pale instantly.
