Chapter 35: Tasting You Big Brother Really Dares to Eat Anything
Neither brother would back down. Lu Yunchuan’s hand, placed on Fu Xici’s neck, tightened even further due to the force of Fu Xici’s own hands. He was truly afraid Big Brother might actually strangle him to death.
However, he had already indulged Fu Xici for a year because he pitied him, feared his sadness, and feared his pain. A perfectly straight man like himself had tolerated many things he normally couldn’t stand. Being “bent” was one thing, but now Fu Xici was turning around to threaten him.
Lu Yunchuan’s rebellious streak returned. Today, he was going to butt heads with Fu Xici. He used his free hand to force open Fu Xici’s grip and, mimicking his brother’s stance, placed Big Brother’s hand back onto his own neck.
“Do you really think I’m weaker than you? I pamper you and spoil you usually, so you think you can do whatever you want? I’m a man; I’ve tolerated you this long, and now you’re pushing your luck? Come on, if you have the guts, strangle me. If you don’t kill me today, I never want to see you again.”
Fu Xici released the hand that was gripping Lu Yunchuan. Lu Yunchuan could see his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down, and he could hear Big Brother’s ragged breathing in the silent, narrow space.
If Fu Xici hadn’t been his brother if they hadn’t shared eighteen years of deep, fraternal bond he wouldn’t have this psychological burden. He called Fu Kaijiang and Jiang Yueyue “Mom and Dad”; they were Fu Xici’s biological parents, his blood relatives. He had called them that for eighteen no, nineteen years. His grandparents were so good to him; if they found out about this, they would likely die of shock on the spot.
Lu Yunchuan’s eyes were terrifyingly red. He gripped Fu Xici’s hand, urging him to use force: “I thought staying in the Fu family would spare you from suffering, that I could protect you. Instead, you repay kindness with enmity. Fu Xici, do you even know what you’re doing? I worked hard so you’d have someone to rely on once I’m successful, and you insist on destroying the bond between us.”
Fu Xici let out a heavy breath. His hand tightened around Lu Yunchuan’s neck and, with a sudden surge of force, he pulled Lu Yunchuan toward him and covered his lips with a retaliatory kiss.
Lu Yunchuan’s throat felt constricted. He opened his mouth to gasp for air, but was immediately blocked by Big Brother’s kiss. His grip on Fu Xici loosened. The pressure on his neck lightened, but Fu Xici didn’t let go; it felt as if his entire life was held in Big Brother’s palm.
Fu Xici bit his lips mercilessly, sucking until the root of his tongue ached. Not to be outdone, Lu Yunchuan grabbed Fu Xici’s hair and kissed back with equal vengeance.
In the cramped space, only the sound of their breathing remained. Neither brother yielded. Lu Yunchuan sat astride Fu Xici, his eyes rimmed with red, pinning him against the back seat while his hands gripped Fu Xici’s neck. In the darkness, he couldn’t see Fu Xici’s expression, but he knew he wasn’t holding back. He was fuming.
His hands trembled. For a moment, he even thought about ending it all right here killing Fu Xici and then dying himself. Otherwise, how were they supposed to deal with this mess?
He heard Fu Xici’s pained groan, which snapped him back to reality. He quickly pulled his hands away and leaned down to apologize: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry… Big Brother, I didn’t mean it..
Fu Xici took the opportunity to gulp in air. The feeling of suffocation slowly receded. He lay on the back seat for a while, catching his breath, before slowly sitting up to hug Lu Yunchuan again.
Lu Yunchuan was exhausted from the struggle. He stopped resisting and let Big Brother hold him. His heart felt miserable; he was the one who least wanted to see Fu Xici wronged, yet he had just nearly killed him. He wept silently in the dark, not responding to the embrace. He felt this path was a dead end—pitch black with no future. He didn’t want to live a life of secrecy with Fu Xici forever. He wanted to cut the Gordian knot; he didn’t want to be trapped in a love that couldn’t see the light of day. He hadn’t been reborn just to exist in a transgressive relationship; he wanted to live freely.
After holding him for a while, Fu Xici reached out to touch his face. Lu Yunchuan dodged, but his tears fell into Fu Xici’s palm. Fu Xici placed a hand on the back of his head, stroking his hair: “Don’t cry.”
Lu Yunchuan felt even more aggrieved, his voice trembling: “This is all your fault. I wanted you as a brother. I don’t want to lose you, don’t you understand? Our relationship can’t last. Sooner or later, we’ll go our separate ways, and if that day comes, it’ll be your own doing.”
Fu Xici couldn’t answer. He reached out in the dark to wipe away the tears, but seeing that Lu Yunchuan couldn’t stop sobbing, he leaned in and licked the tears away, kissing his wet eyes.
Lu Yunchuan’s anger subsided slightly. He took several deep breaths before hugging him back: “Can’t you just be more obedient? Stop making things so difficult for me. After what’s happened between us, I won’t easily be with anyone else. Once I have enough power, it won’t be too late to consider this relationship.”
Fu Xici didn’t reply. After licking away the tears from the corners of his eyes, he sought his lips again. Lu Yunchuan clenched and unclenched his fists, finally admitting defeat. As the anger dissipated, only a deep sorrow remained. He felt that talking was useless. He thought to himself: I won’t say anything more for now. When university starts and I leave this place for somewhere else, the relationship will eventually fade.
Because he had been violent toward Fu Xici earlier, he felt guilty and began to return the kiss more gently, his tongue lightly swirling with Fu Xici’s. He cupped Fu Xici’s face and whispered: “I’m sorry, I hurt your neck just now.”
Fu Xici shook his head and took control. He pressed Lu Yunchuan against the seat, moved from his mouth to his chin, and lifted his white Polo shirt, his lips landing on Lu Yunchuan’s chest. Lu Yunchuan leaned back and stopped struggling, his fingers digging into Fu Xici’s hair, gritting his teeth in silence.
Sensing no rejection, Fu Xici grew bolder and moved downward. While Lu Yunchuan was still lost in thought, his distressed jeans were already pulled down to his feet.
To maintain his image at school, he hadn’t worn anything eccentric, letting his old “rebellious” clothes gather dust. Finally getting a chance to wear them, he had started to be himself again. It was a hot summer, so he wore whatever was coolest but he hadn’t worn these pants just so Big Brother could take them off.
He snapped back to reality: “Don’t.”
Before he could finish, Fu Xici shifted his body, pinning him against the car door, and his sneakers followed the jeans out of his control.
His vision was blurred, but his sense of touch was sharp. He felt the warmth of Fu Xici’s mouth. Big Brother, who had never succeeded before, took advantage of his exhaustion to subject him to a form of mental torture. Lu Yunchuan felt like he was dying. He had no strength left to fight. As a man, the instinct etched into his bones made him unable to stop himself from pressing Fu Xici’s head down.
In a state of extreme tension and stimulation, he stopped caring. Lu Yunchuan gritted his teeth, breathing heavily, and whispered fiercely: “So shameless… I’ll exhaust you to death.”
Fu Xici didn’t find it unpleasant; instead, he felt immense psychological satisfaction. He loved it when Lu Yunchuan treated him this way; he wished he would get even wilder.
Nearby, pedestrians and vehicles passed by. The voices of two brothers going for a midnight snack were clear. One sounded young: “Bro, why is there a car parked there? It wasn’t there when we came by.” The other replied dotingly: “I don’t know, I can’t see clearly. Let’s go home. Mom and Dad called; if they find out we skipped dinner for snacks, we’ll get scolded again.”
No one came to investigate. Fu Xici was crazy, and Lu Yunchuan was crazy too.
After more than ten minutes of “torture,” it ended with Fu Xici swallowing; he didn’t waste a single drop.
Lu Yunchuan was physically and mentally drained. He stared blankly at the car’s ceiling in the dark, thinking: It’s completely over. He and Fu Xici could never go back. They could no longer be brothers. Before, he could lie to himself that they were just using their hands and it could be salvaged. But today, things had become completely abnormal.
After finishing, Big Brother dressed him, got out of the car without a word, and went to the driver’s seat. Lu Yunchuan lay in the back, his heart as cold as ash. It wasn’t until they got home and Fu Xici opened the door for him that he sat up in a daze. When he tried to get out, his legs were weak.
He ignored Fu Xici and walked straight ahead, up to the eighth floor. He entered the passcode and went inside without even bothering to change his shoes. He went straight to the bedroom and slammed the door, not giving Fu Xici another look. He lay on the bed questioning his life, the lights off, too tired to even shower. Thinking of what just happened, his heart felt dead.
Soon, his phone pinged with messages. He didn’t want to look, but the notifications kept coming. He reached for it, the screen light stinging his eyes. He unlocked it and went to WeChat.
Message from Fu Xici: Hate me if you want. This is the last time. I will accept the family’s arrangements. I wish you a bright future. I’ve packed my things and left; you won’t have to see me again. I’m moving into the wedding house. This apartment was always meant for you; stay here when you come back. I won’t disturb you.
I won’t make it difficult for you. You want your future and not me; I understand. I’ll let you go.
Lu Yunchuan’s throat tightened. He threw the phone aside without replying. He heard bumping sounds from the room next door Fu Xici was packing his things. About twenty minutes later, he heard the sound of a suitcase being wheeled out. His heart ached, and he scrambled out of bed.
Hearing that Big Brother had no intention of staying, Lu Yunchuan felt even worse. He rushed to the door, opened it, and saw Fu Xici putting shoes from the rack into a box. Hearing the door, Fu Xici stood up and turned slightly toward him. Lu Yunchuan felt a lump in his throat. After a moment’s hesitation, he walked toward him.
He took a deep breath, suppressed his emotions, and hugged Fu Xici from behind: “Don’t go.”
Fu Xici was holding a shoebox. Hearing the plea to stay, he dropped the box on the floor and gripped Lu Yunchuan’s hands at his waist. Lu Yunchuan buried his face in his shoulder: “You’re really too much. You bully me and then try to leave. I haven’t agreed to it yet.”
Fu Xici patted his hand and turned around to hug him. In truth, as long as Lu Yunchuan asked him to stay, he wouldn’t leave. He wanted to be needed more than anything.
The brothers had fought half the night, but in the end, they didn’t separate. Neither could bear to let go. In the car, Lu Yunchuan had wanted to strangle him, but seeing the shocking red marks on his neck now, he felt guilty and sad. Ultimately, he was the one to pay for the outburst, applying medicine to Fu Xici’s neck.
Moving Big Brother’s suitcase back into the bedroom, Lu Yunchuan resigned himself to fate: “Fine, whatever. Since you won’t let me go, find a way to settle things with the family. Until they agree, I won’t officially confirm our relationship.”
Fu Xici pulled him down to sit on the edge of the bed and typed: I will handle the family. You don’t need to worry. As I said, just focus on your studies; leave the rest to me.
Lu Yunchuan looked at him: “You’re really not afraid of death. Do older people just not have internal conflicts?”
Fu Xici looked at him and smiled: When you’re older, nothing seems that important anymore. When I was young, I was insecure and sensitive. I cared about everything, felt my parents didn’t love me, that I had no family living was exhausting. But now it’s different. I’ve stopped caring about family ties and accepted the fate of being unloved. I only want to hold onto what is right next to me.
Lu Yunchuan understood: “I’m what’s right next to you, so you refuse to let me go.”
Fu Xici: I wanted to let you go, but if I did, you would love someone else, and I would be in agony.
Lu Yunchuan let out a long sigh: “Great. Now there’s really no turning back. You really dared to eat anything… I didn’t even agree.”
Fu Xici: You wouldn’t have agreed. I’ve wanted to do that for a long time, but I was afraid of affecting your grades. Tonight, since we fought so hard, I thought it was the last time anyway, so I wanted to taste it.
Lu Yunchuan was truly speechless: “Was it good? Didn’t you find it gross?”
Fu Xici shook his head: I like you. Everything about you is good to me. It wasn’t gross. Though it was a bit salty and the taste was strong, I’m satisfied. I feel like I’ve gained something.
Lu Yunchuan: “…”
There was nothing left to say. Lu Yunchuan made a declaration: “Anyway, I’m not eating yours, so don’t try to feed me. As for mine, you can only do that if I agree in the future. If I don’t agree, you can’t touch it.”
Fu Xici: I’ll listen to you. Since you asked me to stay today, I’ll take it as you accepting me. From now on, I will reject all blind dates arranged by the family. I am your boyfriend now, no longer just your big brother.
