The Ultra-Alpha School Hunk Has Transmigrated into a Cannon Fodder Omega! - Chapter 22.1
Following the name at seventy-sixth place was the name of Ji Cenzhou.
Wang Hao swore several times in a row. Moving from over eight-hundredth place to seventy-sixth was a massive leap. “Brother Ji is incredible!” he shouted.
“Holy sh*t!”
“This is way too impressive! How many ranks did he jump?”
“Seventy-sixth!”
“Is there someone else in our grade with the same name?”
“Screw you! Can’t you say something encouraging at a time like this?”
“Does this mean we can finally replace our physics teacher?”
A sudden silence fell over the group. The girl whom Liu Qi had previously insulted regarding her appearance accidentally burst into tears. Seeing this, the surrounding classmates frantically tried to comfort her. “Sister Yang, do not cry! This is, well, this is…”
Yang Shu was amused by his clumsy efforts. She smiled and said, “It is okay. I did not actually want to cry. It is just that my tears have a mind of their own. If they insist on falling, there is nothing I can do.”
Other students who had followed out of curiosity were bewildered. They wondered if Class 10 had collectively forgotten to take their medicine or if they had all fallen under a spell. The entire class had marched out in a grand procession to check the results, cheering and shouting in front of the bulletin board, and now a girl was even crying. They stared at the ranking list for a long time but could not see the mystery behind it.
A student familiar with Wang Hao asked, “Ritian, what is wrong with your class?”
Wang Hao was about to speak when the Academic Representative tapped him. With a serious face, the representative said, “The Buddha says that it cannot be spoken.”
The student was left speechless.
Wang Hao calmed down slightly, looked around, and asked, “Where is our great hero?”
The students of Class 10 also began searching, but they could not find a trace of him. At that moment, Bai Yu said, “Stop looking. He is at the back. He has not come over yet.”
A classmate asked curiously, “Why did you not bring him with you?”
Bai Yu thought to himself, Do I dare? Brother Jiang is with him. However, Bai Yu had always been tight-lipped. He said, “I was just in a hurry to see the grades. Besides, we can just tell him directly. It saves him the nerves of looking at the list himself.”
In reality, Ji Cenzhou was not nervous at all. He strolled leisurely along the shaded edge of the sports field. Jiang Mosen followed beside him and asked, “Why are you not in a hurry to get over there?”
Ji Cenzhou squinted against the stinging sunlight and said, “What is the use of rushing? The ranking list is not going to run away. Besides, I do not even need to go there to know what my grade is.” He raised an eyebrow at Jiang Mosen and said, “Would the Class Monitor mind checking the class group chat for me and telling me my rank?”
Jiang Mosen gave a helpless smile and opened the group chat. Sure enough, someone had already posted the news. “Seventy-sixth place. Very good results.”
Hearing this, Ji Cenzhou frowned slightly. He said with a hint of dissatisfaction, “That is a few ranks lower than I predicted. It seems everyone took this monthly exam very seriously.”
Jiang Mosen laughed. “Are you not afraid that if someone hears you say that, you will be mobbed?”
“I only dare to say it because only you are here,” Ji Cenzhou replied with a smile. He was not actually as calm as he appeared. Once scores reach a certain threshold, improving by even a single point is difficult. Furthermore, with a zero in Physics, his other subjects had to be exceptional to reach this rank.
Feeling a bit drowsy from the sun, Ji Cenzhou said, “Since we have seen the results, let us head back.”
“You are not going over? Everyone in the group is howling to find you,” Jiang Mosen said.
Ji Cenzhou smiled. “If we are going to go crazy, we should pick a better time. Do not forget that we sneaked out during Biology class. If the teacher catches us, the whole class, including Old Xu, will be punished.”
As it turned out, Ji Cenzhou was a jinx. Just as they turned the corner to their floor, they saw the Grade Dean standing at the door with a darkened face, looking like a guardian deity.
Ji Cenzhou and Jiang Mosen both fell silent. Jiang Mosen turned to look at Ji Cenzhou expressionlessly, his gaze carrying a hint of resentment. Ji Cenzhou felt quite aggrieved. He had just mentioned it in passing and had not expected the Grade Dean to actually be standing guard at the door.
Seeing them arrive, the Grade Dean pointed at the podium and said, “Stand there.” Jiang Mosen and Ji Cenzhou had no choice but to go and stand there.
With his hands behind his back, the Grade Dean paced in front of them. Ji Cenzhou watched the man’s chest heaving up and down, terrified that the Dean would spray saliva all over his face the moment he opened his mouth. Fortunately, the Grade Dean deliberately suppressed his anger and asked, “Where did you go?”
Jiang Mosen replied, “We went to check the ranking list.”
The Grade Dean’s eyebrows shot up and his eyes widened. “The list is not going to run away! You could not check it after class? Sneaking out during a lesson? What is the meaning of this?”
The Grade Dean did not truly believe they had gone to check the grades. He was more inclined to believe they had snuck out to play basketball, yet it did not feel quite right. If that were the case, why was the entire class gone? At the very least, a few female students or those wanting to stay and study should have remained.
Just as Jiang Mosen was about to speak, the sound of playfulness echoed from the hallway. The Grade Dean’s expression shifted instantly. He made a “shush” gesture to Jiang Mosen and stood by the door, waiting for the students to walk into his trap.
The first wave of students entered noisily, only to see the Grade Dean standing in the center of the classroom. Their faces paled with fright. Just as they were about to speak, the Dean gestured for them to be quiet and pointed toward the podium, signaling them to stand there. The next wave of students noticed nothing wrong and fell into the trap as well. In this way, not a single person from Class 10 received word in time to escape.
Seeing that all the students were safely accounted for, the Grade Dean felt a sense of relief, but his temper flared up all at once. Looking at the students before him, who were as submissive as little chicks, his anger boiled over.
“Why are you all staring at the floor? Is there money on the ground, or are there flowers? Lift your heads up!” The students quickly looked up, only to meet the Grade Dean’s dark face, causing them to lower their heads again in fear. “You know how to be afraid now? Why did you not know fear when a whole group of you ran out?”
The Grade Dean was so angry that his regional dialect started coming out. “I am asking you, were you trying to cause a panic? Even I panicked! My office is right below yours. When all of you ran out, the floorboards shook so hard I thought there was an earthquake! I was so scared I nearly made a school-wide announcement for everyone to evacuate.”
The Dean’s dialect was quite humorous. Someone could not hold it in and let out a laugh. This was the spark that lit the powder keg.
“You still have the nerve to laugh! You are eleventh graders, nearly adults! Can you not use your brains before you act? Speak! What were you doing out there?” No one dared to answer.
The Grade Dean picked out the troublemakers he recognized. “Wang Hao, tell me, what were you doing?”
Wang Hao lowered his head. “We went to check the grades.”
The Grade Dean naturally did not believe it. He then picked out Li Tianrui. “You, tell me, what did you do?”
Li Tianrui kept his head down. “Teacher, we really did go to check the grades.”
The Grade Dean raised an eyebrow. “Did you all coordinate this story beforehand?”
Wang Hao said, “Teacher, we really are not lying. If I am lying, I am a dog!”
The Grade Dean snorted. “I might believe it if someone else went to check, but why would you? Tell me, since you enrolled, when have you ever cared about your grades?”
“I was not looking at my own grades. I was looking at…” Wang Hao’s voice grew smaller and smaller.
The Grade Dean said sharply, “Whose grades were you looking at?”
Ji Cenzhou sighed inwardly and spoke up. “Teacher, everyone went to check my grades.”
“Your grades?” The Grade Dean remembered the matter of Ji Cenzhou’s financial aid and asked, “What was your rank this time?”
Ji Cenzhou replied, “Seventy-sixth.”
The improvement was so vast that the Grade Dean could not process it. His instinctive reaction was to ask, “Did you forget a zero at the end?”
Ji Cenzhou was speechless. Before he could respond, the bell rang, ending the period. The hallway immediately became lively. A voice approached from a distance. “Ritian, what is going on with your class? Ritian?”
Ruan Zi walked to the door and came face-to-face with the Grade Dean’s dark expression. He forced his words back down. The Grade Dean glared at him. “Who are you ‘Ri-ing’?”
Poor, lonely, and helpless Ruan Zi trembled. With a face like he was about to cry, he stammered, “The sun sets behind the western mountains, the red clouds fly! The brave soldiers return to camp after target practice, return to camp, hey!” As Ruan Zi spoke, he actually started singing.
The Grade Dean was stunned. He had been full of rage, but he was forced into a laugh by this group of students. However, he could not truly let himself laugh out loud. He could only press his lips together, feigning anger. “Let this be the only time. If I catch you again, every person in this class will write a 5,000-word self-reflection and deliver it to my office. Do you hear me?”
“We hear you!”
Only then did the Grade Dean walk out with his hands behind his back. When he passed Ruan Zi, he could not hold back any longer and let the corners of his mouth twitch upward. Unluckily, Ruan Zi happened to be looking up at him. Ruan Zi was quick-witted. He spoke before the Dean could. “I did not see anything.”
The Grade Dean endured it for a moment but eventually gave in. “You sing quite well. When the Arts Festival comes around, you can perform a program on stage.”
Ruan Zi was left in shock.
The Class Meeting
Xu Lei came to analyze the results during the class meeting. The report cards had already been distributed. Holding his large tea mug, Xu Lei sat behind the podium and said, “Our class did reasonably well this time. Out of the thirty science classes in the grade, we are ranked fourteenth. That is not bad. However, our class average is eleven points lower than the grade average. This means some students have a lot of room for improvement. This is a good thing. Look at the Class Monitor. There is no one in front of him. Every time, he is just competing with himself. Looking forward, it is a blank void. Looking back, it is a dark mass of people. You tell me if the pressure on his heart is high or not.”
The whole class laughed. Xu Lei smiled and said, “This is the right atmosphere. Why should talking about grades be so somber? Grades should be discussed in a relaxed, positive environment. You are only in your second year of high school, and this was just a small monthly exam. Analyze the problems well this time, and you will do better next time. Let us work hard this semester so everyone can have a good Lunar New Year!”
The class erupted in applause. Wang Hao made a special effort to cooperate, shouting a loud “Great!”
“Alright, let us start analyzing the results, beginning with the overall situation.” A set of tables appeared on the PPT. “Our class still has many people in the high-score bracket. Across thirty classes, the top one hundred average is three students per class, but this time we have five. Our class’s first place is also the grade’s first place, Jiang Mosen. Second is Xue Wei, twenty-fourth in the grade. And the fifth is our very own Ji Cenzhou, seventy-fourth in the grade.”
As soon as Xu Lei finished speaking, someone shouted from below, “Can we see Ji Cenzhou’s report card?”
Xu Lei smiled and asked Ji Cenzhou, “Is that okay?”
Ji Cenzhou naturally did not mind. He said casually, “Go ahead.”
Xu Lei pulled up the next slide. “Actually, I took the liberty of making a slide specifically for Ji Cenzhou. First, because his progress was huge, and second, because he is quite representative.”
The PPT displayed Ji Cenzhou’s total score of 622.

The students whispered among themselves. “Ji Cenzhou is incredible in other subjects. He got a perfect score in Chemistry! How did he do that last multiple-choice question? Did people not say it was beyond the syllabus?”
“Brother Ji is just that strong. He can surpass seven hundred students with a zero in one subject. If he had actually done the Physics paper, would he not be in the top ten of the grade?”
“I offer my respect to the boss.”
“This is too strong. I remember he was originally in the eight-hundreds, and he had not even passed those three science subjects. Now he is hitting near-perfect scores? Is this magical realism?”
“I was calculating before how one could get into the top one hundred with a zero in Physics. Now I finally know the answer. As long as your other subjects are strong enough, getting into the top one hundred is easy.”
