The Ultra-Alpha School Hunk Has Transmigrated into a Cannon Fodder Omega! - Chapter 21
On the last day before the monthly exams, Jiang Mosen organized the students to arrange the examination rooms. A tense atmosphere permeated the classroom, which made Ji Cenzhou hesitant to even speak loudly.
Once the seating arrangements were finished, Wang Hao glanced at Ji Cenzhou several times. After holding his tongue for a long while, he finally could not resist asking, “Brother Ji, how is your revision going?”
The moment the words left his mouth, the girl sitting behind him struck him with a book. “Didn’t we all agree not to ask? Do not put unnecessary pressure on him,” she scolded. After speaking, she turned to Ji Cenzhou and gave him a “fighting” gesture of encouragement.
Ji Cenzhou froze for a moment before nodding. When he turned his head, he noticed that Bai Yu was also offering him a sign of encouragement. Across the crowded room, even the Academic Representative performed the same gesture. Others who saw the Academic Representative soon followed suit, turning toward Ji Cenzhou to offer their own silent support.
Ji Cenzhou thought to himself, “Did you all join a sign language association or some kind of gesture cult? What are you doing? Have you lost the ability to speak?”
He eventually said with difficulty, “What is wrong with all of you? Can you please act normally? You are starting to make me feel afraid.”
Bai Yu attempted to comfort him, saying, “Do not be afraid. This is a blessing for high exam scores that my mother sought for me at a temple. Please take it. Once you have it, you will no longer feel afraid or nervous.”
“Wait, your mother prayed for this blessing for you. Why are you giving it to me?” Ji Cenzhou asked.
“It is more useful in your hands,” Bai Yu said solemnly. “Ji Cenzhou, you must do well on this exam. Whether we can successfully get a new physics teacher depends entirely on you. If ‘Ghost Sees Sorrow’ continues to teach us, my physics score on the college entrance exam will truly be f—ing unwatchable.”
Only then did Ji Cenzhou realize the motivation behind the eerie behavior of his classmates. He turned around and saw everyone looking at him with solemn expressions and glowing eyes. He blinked, feeling that it would be a shame not to respond to such a concentrated atmosphere. He clenched his fist, made a somewhat awkward gesture of encouragement, and said, “Then, I suppose I will try my best.”
The entire class shouted in unison, “Give it your absolute all!”
Ji Cenzhou was left speechless.
On the day of the examination, the Academic Representative handed Ji Cenzhou a transparent bag containing various stationery items.
Ji Cenzhou held up the pens he had already prepared and said, “There is no need for that. I brought my own.”
The Academic Representative looked incredibly serious as he replied, “Take them. What if your pen suddenly runs out of ink? What if your hand slips and the pen flies away? What if someone steals your pen? What if you are holding it and it suddenly disappears? What if—”
Ji Cenzhou thought to himself that if the representative continued with these dramatic hypotheticals, his pen would likely be abducted by aliens next. He quickly interrupted, “Alright, thank you. I will take them.” Satisfied, the Academic Representative finally departed.
The classrooms were arranged by grade ranking, placing Ji Cenzhou in the second-to-last examination room. As he packed his things and prepared to head to the hall, someone called out to him at the doorway.
Ji Cenzhou turned back to see Jiang Mosen. “Monitor, what did you need?”
Jiang Mosen walked up to him, raised his hand, and said, “Give me a high-five. I will transfer my good luck to you.”
Ji Cenzhou was amused by the gesture. He teased, “We are successors of socialism and believers in materialist dialectics. This kind of feudal superstition is unacceptable.”
Jiang Mosen smiled and asked, “Are you going to do it or not?”
“I am doing it,” Ji Cenzhou replied as he high-fived Jiang Mosen. “The blessing of a top student is too valuable to pass up.”
“You certainly have a silver tongue,” Jiang Mosen laughed. He looked directly into Ji Cenzhou’s eyes and said slowly, “Ji Cenzhou, do well on the exam. You can definitely make it into the top one hundred.”
Ji Cenzhou rubbed his nose, feeling a bit out of his element with Jiang Mosen speaking to him so earnestly. He raised an eyebrow and grinned. “Isn’t that obvious? I never intended to rank lower than the top one hundred anyway.”
Jiang Mosen smiled, noting that Ji Cenzhou still possessed that same flamboyant and dazzling demeanor. “Fine, you are the best,” Jiang Mosen coaxed casually. “Go to the exam room now. I will be waiting for your good news.”
Jiang Mosen watched Ji Cenzhou head upstairs before finally turning toward his own examination room.
When Ji Cenzhou arrived at his designated room, he saw a familiar face in the very first seat. Four or five boys were gathered around Wang Hao, chatting loudly. However, the moment Wang Hao looked up and saw Ji Cenzhou, his expression became instantly stern.
He told his friends, “The exam is about to start. Everyone needs to go back and revise immediately.” Considering their usual attitude toward academics, he added, “Even if you do not plan to study, stay silent so you do not disturb those who are trying to work.”
his friends were stunned. “Wang Hao, have you been possessed by an evil spirit?”
Wang Hao ignored them and chased them back to their seats, personally ensuring they did not make any noise. He then walked up to Ji Cenzhou and said, “While the exam has not started yet, you should look over your books. You can read in peace; I will ensure they do not disturb you.”
True to his word, Wang Hao paced the classroom like a discipline officer. He gave gentle reminders to those he didn’t know well and a firm kick to his close friends. By the time he finished his rounds, the room was silent. In a classroom typically filled with underachievers, the sudden order was extraordinary, rivaling the discipline of the top-tier classes.
The Grade Dean, who usually visited the lower-ranked rooms to maintain order, was shocked when he entered. Finding the room completely silent, he momentarily thought he had lost his hearing. He stepped out and re-entered, confirming that there was indeed no noise.
The atmosphere was exceptionally strange. The Grade Dean froze for a few seconds before remarking, “Very good. Your class discipline is excellent. Please maintain this standard.”
He then moved to the next classroom, where he had to roar at the students to get them to quiet down. Frustrated, the Dean told them they should learn from the discipline of the neighboring class, urging them to spend their time reading instead of fooling around before an exam.
The Grade Dean had barely left when someone outside began shouting, “Ritian! Ritian! This is killing me. The Grade Dean actually told me that your class discipline is excellent and that we should learn from you!”
As soon as he stepped inside, he realized that the classroom was eerily quiet. Everyone was moving so stealthily that even the sound of footsteps was muffled. His brother, “Ritian” Wang Hao, was currently scanning the room. If anyone made the slightest noise, he would immediately shut them down with a sharp, piercing glare.
Seeing that his close friend was speaking too loudly, Wang Hao hissed, “Ruan Zi, keep your voice down. Do not come in here and ruin our order.”
Ruan Zi felt like he was going crazy on the spot. Was this really the same Wang Hao who usually treated discipline as if it were nothing? The same brother who insisted on going wild during every break between exam subjects just to have the energy for the next one?
Ruan Zi spotted a piece of scratch paper on a desk. He picked it up, slapped it onto Wang Hao’s head, and began chanting under his breath.
“You filthy thing! I do not care what kind of demon or ghost you are, get out now! Give me back my good brother, Wang Hao!”
Wang Hao remained silent, thinking to himself, “You are the filthy thing here.”
Wang Hao quickly dragged Ruan Zi outside and whispered into his ear, “You do not understand. I am doing something big right now—the kind of achievement that could go down in history. Anyway, hurry back to your own classroom and stop disturbing the peace here.”
Ruan Zi’s interest was piqued. “What big thing? Can I help?”
Wang Hao considered the fact that the classroom walls were thin and the soundproofing was poor. If the neighboring class was too noisy, it would disturb Ji Cenzhou. He replied, “Just tell your class to keep it down.”
Ruan Zi was left completely bewildered.
The monthly exams lasted for a day and a half. Once the testing concluded, regular afternoon classes resumed.
Every subject teacher who entered Class Ten was immediately swarmed by students urging them to grade the papers. The teachers were all confused and took their complaints to Xu Lei.
Xu Lei had a vague idea of what was happening, but he simply chuckled and played it off. “The students’ enthusiasm for learning is so high right now. Are you not happy about that?”
The teachers thought to themselves, “It is not that we are unhappy; we are scared to death.” Could anyone imagine being cornered by a Class Ten student while trying to use the restroom, only to be told to hurry up so they could go back and grade papers?
However, thanks to the collective pressure from Class Ten, the grading was completed within three days. The rankings were finalized and posted on the large bulletin board downstairs.
When the results were posted, Class Ten happened to be in Biology class. Since the Biology teacher had something else to attend to, they had simply been assigned a worksheet to complete.
Wang Hao, always the first to get news, immediately forwarded the update to the class group chat.
“Oh my god, I am so nervous!”
“Nervous plus one. I have been anxious for days.”
“Wang Hao, do you have a picture? What is the use of just sending a message in the group?”
“I want all the information from the transcript right now. CEO meme included.”
“Why don’t we go down and take a look? There are no teachers around anyway.”
The students exchanged glances. As soon as Wang Hao made the first move, the entire class followed. A few students who hadn’t checked the group chat looked at their classmates in total confusion.
“What is happening? Is there an earthquake?”
“I do not know! Quick, keep up! I do not want to be crushed by the floorboards!”
The confused students ran along with the rest, and in an instant, the classroom was empty.
As the group swarmed across the playground, the other students outside were stunned.
“What is going on? Is the teaching building on fire?”
“Ritian, why are you all running?”
“Come on, let’s go check it out. We cannot miss out on this excitement.”
More and more people joined the crowd until it became a massive, bustling procession—a rare spectacle at the First Middle School.
When the students of Class Ten arrived at the posting area, they divided the labor clearly. Half the group started searching from the front of the list, while the other half started from the back. But Wang Hao’s eyes were sharp; he spotted Ji Cenzhou’s name almost immediately.
“Holy crap! I found it!”
