- The Top-Tier Alpha Is Lured and Captured by a Green Tea Merman
- Chapter 7 - Mutual Seduction
Pei Yan headed out to find Xie Yu with the skewers in hand, but to his surprise, he didn’t see the merman come wagging his tail as usual.
“Xie Yu… Xie Yu…”
Pei Yan called out a few times, but there was still no sign of him.
Did he go back?
No, impossible. Pei Yan decisively ruled out that possibility.
Then where did he go? Could he have been discovered? But I haven’t heard anything about anyone catching a merman today. Maybe he went to play in the deep ocean?
Thinking about it, that seemed the most likely explanation. He sat and waited for a while, but Xie Yu still didn’t appear. The skewers were starting to get cold.
Forget it, let’s call it a day.
Pei Yan stood up and brushed the sand off his clothes. Just then, a rustling sound came from near the reefs.
“Is that you, Xie Yu?”
There was no answer.
Pei Yan: “If you don’t speak up, I’m really leaving. I even brought you skewers.”
He made a move to leave. The next second, he heard Xie Yu cry out, “Brother, don’t go!”
Little brat, trying to hide from me.
Pei Yan turned around triumphantly, but his expression turned cold the moment he saw him.
Xie Yu was covered in blood, with claw marks all over his body. He was hiding pitifully by the reef, his eyes full of fear—fear, of course, that Pei Yan would leave.
Pei Yan walked up quickly. “Who did you get into a fight with?”
Xie Yu lowered his head. “Other mermen.”
Pei Yan was startled, his focus shifting slightly. “There are other mermen here? What do they look like? Are they like you?”
Xie Yu stared at him resentfully. Pei Yan immediately shut up.
“So… did you win?” he asked tentatively.
Xie Yu pouted, looking as if he would burst into tears if pushed any further.
Alright, looking at him like this, he definitely lost. No wonder he was hiding.
Pei Yan patted his head. “It’s fine. Victory and defeat are common in battle. Losing once is nothing; just win it back next time.”
Xie Yu leaned in close to Pei Yan’s face. “Then, since I lost, does Brother still like me?”
A handsome face suddenly closed in, accompanied by a faint, pleasant scent of pheromones. Caught off guard, Pei Yan’s pupils contracted instantly. Xie Yu stared at him with clear, stubborn eyes, desperate for an answer.
“Does Brother still like me?”
As those pale pink lips moved, Pei Yan felt a sudden wave of dry heat in his throat. He tilted his head back to create distance, reaching up to tug at his tie and undo the top two buttons of his shirt. His sexy collarbones glowed white under the silver moonlight.
In that instant, Xie Yu felt himself being seduced. He had intended to give his brother a little “bait,” but ended up being the one tempted instead. Or rather, as long as his brother stood there, he didn’t need to do or say anything to be a fatal temptation.
Xie Yu licked his lips, staring at Pei Yan like a predator. His pupils narrowed into vertical slits before snapping back to circles. His tail restlessly coiled around Pei Yan’s ankles, showing signs of creeping further up.
This lecherous fish!
The ambiguous atmosphere Pei Yan had felt moments ago vanished instantly. He stepped—not too lightly, not too heavily—on Xie Yu’s tail and threatened, “If you keep being touchy-feely, I’m leaving.”
Xie Yu immediately behaved himself.
Pei Yan held up the skewers. “I went through the trouble of bringing these, and now they’re cold.”
“Skewers?” His eyes fell on the charred meat and fish. Xie Yu’s nose twitched. “So fragrant… for me?”
“Of course they’re for you. They’re just cold, so they might not taste as good.”
“It’s fine.” Xie Yu snatched them away. “As long as it’s from Brother, I like it no matter what it is.”
Before Pei Yan could explain how to eat them, Xie Yu started crunching away, biting through the bamboo skewers and all.
“!!!”
Terrified by his eating method, Pei Yan quickly forced his mouth open. “You can’t eat the skewers! Spit them out!”
Xie Yu obediently spat them out.
Pei Yan took a breath to calm his racing heart and taught him to hold them horizontally, bite the meat, and pull the skewer away. While Xie Yu learned how to eat them, the way he bared his teeth while chewing was so hilarious that Pei Yan couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Seeing him laugh, Xie Yu dissatisfiedly flicked his tail in the water. Seawater splashed all over Pei Yan, soaking him from his hair down to his pants.
Pei Yan blinked. “Xie Yu!”
He lunged into the water and tackled him. The two fell into the sea with a splash. Pei Yan sat on top of him and laughed triumphantly, “Hahaha, since you like playing with water so much, I’ll let you soak in it!”
Xie Yu’s eyes curved upward, and his tail arched slightly. Pei Yan looked at him in shock.
Is this fish in heat 24/7 regardless of the occasion?
Perhaps sensing Pei Yan’s utter disbelief, Xie Yu didn’t do anything else out of line. Instead, he propped up his upper body and tilted his head back.
From Pei Yan’s perspective, the silver moonlight hit Xie Yu’s silver hair, creating a faint halo that made him look incredibly holy. He couldn’t see his face clearly, only his sharp jawline and sexy Adam’s apple. His arms, bracing against the ground, showed smooth, powerful muscle lines—the kind of strength that looked like it could pick a person up with one hand…
Pei Yan suddenly felt very hot. Realizing something, he scrambled up in a panic.
Xie Yu looked over curiously. Seeing “that” spot, he froze for a moment and instinctively asked, “Brother, is your heat cycle here?”
Pei Yan’s entire face and neck turned beet red.
Xie Yu: “…”
He sat up abruptly. Could it be that his brother was reacting to him?
Pei Yan was practically cooked through. He used one hand to cover himself and held out the other to stop Xie Yu from speaking. “I know what you’re going to say, but don’t say it yet!”
Xie Yu didn’t listen. His tail gently brushed against Pei Yan’s palm, tracing circles. His voice was tinged with lust. “Brother, do you want me to help you?”
Pei Yan: “…”
He certainly couldn’t walk back to the base like this, and it wasn’t going to go down anytime soon…
Finally, he compromised. “Fine… but you can only use your…”
Xie Yu smiled enchantingly. “Very happy to be of service, my dear brother.”
With a flushed face, Pei Yan wiped Xie Yu’s mouth for him.
Xie Yu hugged his waist. “Brother, because of you, my lips are all chafed~”
Pei Yan’s face was so red it looked like it might drip blood. He wanted to bury his head in the sand. Seeing Pei Yan so shy, a determined smile tugged at the corners of Xie Yu’s mouth.
Brother must only look like this for me. I’m going to slowly unlock every one of Brother’s first times…
After their fooling around, Pei Yan prepared to return to the base. This time, Xie Yu didn’t cling to him and let him go quite readily.
Returning to the base, Pei Yan found Lu Xiao waiting for him at his door.
“What is it? Did something happen at the base?”
Lu Xiao: “…”
Sure enough, He Bai was right. If he didn’t take the initiative, their conversations would always be about missions.
Lu Xiao looked up. “Is there nothing else you want to say to me besides work?”
What’s going on? Why is he suddenly so angry?
Accustomed to his cold demeanor, this sudden anger was actually quite intimidating! Did I miss something important?
A subordinate poked his head out from another room, unafraid of death. “It must be that the Boss went out in the middle of the night to have a hot time with some Omega. Look, his clothes are all wet from eating skewers and playing around… He didn’t take Lieutenant General Lu along, so he’s angry.”
Pei Yan frowned. “Don’t talk nonsense! What Omega? Your Lieutenant General Lu isn’t like that; he wouldn’t get mad over something like this. And why aren’t you sleeping? What are you doing leaning against the door? Get back to bed! Or I’ll give you special training tomorrow!”
The subordinates pouted and slinked back, closing their doors.
However, Lu Xiao said, “What if I told you that’s exactly why I’m angry?”
“…No, you actually believe their crap?” Pei Yan was shocked. He didn’t believe Lu Xiao would actually be upset over that.
“Then what do you go out for every night? Don’t tell me you’re just taking a walk.”
“……”
Pei Yan really didn’t know what to say. He was at a loss for words. After all, if the gender were swapped, what they said was technically correct. But to Lu Xiao, his silence looked like a silent admission.
Lu Xiao gritted his teeth. As if making a major decision, he grabbed Pei Yan by the collar. A scorching Alpha aura rushed toward him.
Pei Yan knit his brows and looked him straight in the eye. Those dark eyes were calm and deep, as if they could see right through him. Lu Xiao’s heart trembled, and he involuntarily let go.
He couldn’t do it. If he did, they wouldn’t even be able to remain friends. Lu Xiao retreated once again. He was a coward who overthought everything.
Pei Yan sighed and said sincerely, “It’s my fault for making you all worry for nothing, but I definitely haven’t been out picking up Omegas.”
Lu Xiao looked at Pei Yan, his pale lips trembling slightly. For a moment, he wanted to kiss him regardless of the consequences. But if he did, there would really be no turning back.
He closed his eyes and let out a breath, looking as though he had exhausted all his strength. “Don’t let it happen again.”
Though the situation was nonsensical, Pei Yan knew the priority was to appease him. He immediately raised his hand in a mock oath. “Never again!”
Later, after showering and lying in bed, the more he thought about it, the more something felt off.
Logically, whether he went to find an Omega or not had nothing to do with Lu Xiao. There was no Alliance regulation saying you couldn’t fall in love during a mission. When he worked with superiors before, they practically begged him to have a “spark” with an Omega. Why was Lu Xiao so angry? He hadn’t missed a single emergency call!
Wait…
Could it be… he thinks the Omega I’m seeing is one of the ones we rescued last time? And he likes one of them?!
Hiss—it all makes sense now.
No wonder he was so furious; he was afraid his friend was snatching the Omega he liked! No wonder he looked so relieved when I said it wasn’t an Omega.
So that’s it.
He just wondered which one of those Omegas it was. Since his cold and distant brother’s heart was finally blooming, he’d have to give him a helping hand.
