The Strongest Alpha is Overwhelmingly Omega After Rebirth - Chapter 25
A hangover is truly miserable.
Lin Yan rubbed his aching temples and realized there was a warm mass pressed against his back. Slowly opening his eyes, he found himself facing a wall. He felt something cinched around his waist and moved uncomfortably. With that movement, the hand gripping his waist tightened and pulled him back.
The warmth behind him intensified, and Lin Yan suddenly realized what was happening. A sense of unreality surged in his heart. No way. Lin Yan slowly turned over.
There, inches away, was a handsome face. However, its usual striking sharp look was half-occupied by exhaustion. It looked as if the person had not slept well all night. Before Lin Yan could search his foggy brain for more memories, the person in front of him squinted his eyes open. His voice was lazy and hoarse. “You are awake?”
Lin Yan’s body stiffened. Any lingering sleepiness was scared away. He gave a dry laugh. “Did I wake you?”
Ning Youji sat up. He had not slept soundly at all. A certain drunk someone had tossed and turned all night. Lin Yan felt guilty and pulled the quilt up to cover half of his face. He asked tentatively, “Last night… I did not act crazy, did I?”
Fragments of memory from last night were gradually resurfacing, and he had a bad premonition. Ning Youji thought of how a certain someone had demanded he take off his clothes and pull out his belt. He rubbed his brow, feeling both annoyed and amused.
Hearing him chuckle, Lin Yan became even more flustered. “I… my alcohol tolerance is usually very good. Yesterday was just an accident.”
“Right, an accident,” Ning Youji followed along with an unreadable tone. He really could not do anything with this guy. He instinctively tilted his neck and hissed in pain.
Hearing his cry of pain, Lin Yan looked over. Guided by the light coming through the window, he clearly saw a red and swollen patch of skin on the back of Ning Youji’s neck.
“What happened to your neck?” Lin Yan sat up abruptly. “What is going on?” Lin Yan saw that the patch of skin was dark purple and his eyes widened. “It is swollen like this. What were you doing?”
Ning Youji reached out to cover it. He turned his head lazily and locked eyes with Lin Yan’s light brown gaze. Seeing his innocent look, Ning Youji burst out laughing. This look made anyone want to tease him, so he said lightly, “I was bitten by a dog last night.”
“A dog?” Lin Yan looked even more confused. “Where did a dog come from?”
Ning Youji leaned in a little closer. He wore a half-smile, and his voice dropped to a teasing tone. “The dog right in front of me.” After saying this, he reached out and scratched Lin Yan under the chin. He was scratching him just like a little puppy.
Having drunk so much last night, Lin Yan did not react to the gesture for a moment. Seeing his dazed expression, Ning Youji’s eyes curved. He could not help but rub Lin Yan’s head. “Little puppy, your teeth are quite sharp.”
After that string of actions, Lin Yan finally reacted. This refined scoundrel was actually calling him a dog!
“Who are you calling a dog!” Lin Yan grabbed a nearby pillow and threw it at Ning Youji. “You are the dog! Your whole family are dogs!”
Ning Youji dodged the pillow. Lin Yan chased after him. The two of them played and wrestled from the bedroom to the sofa.
“Are you still going to call me a dog!” Lin Yan threw another pillow.
Ning Youji had only just started to recover from his cold, and after playing for a while, he had no energy left. He lay flat on the sofa. “Fine, fine. You are not a dog.”
Seeing him relax his guard, Lin Yan lunged forward and pinned Ning Youji down on the sofa. He chuckled. “If I am a dog, you are a dog too.” He pressed Ning Youji down as he spoke. “You have bitten me so many times. No one is more of a dog than you.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Ning Youji flipped over. Lin Yan ended up sitting astride the other man’s waist. Both of them froze. Their eyes met, and they stopped moving.
In the sudden silence, Lin Yan scrambled off him. He felt an inexplicable awkwardness, and for some reason, he also felt a trace of shyness mixed in. He hurriedly searched for a topic. “I will… find you a band aid to cover the wound so it does not get infected.”
“It is fine,” Ning Youji said as he sat up. “It has already scabbed over.”
Lin Yan did not listen to him. When he could not find a band aid in the first aid kit, he remembered something and ran into the bedroom, returning quickly.
“Turn around,” Lin Yan said as he peeled open an Omega scent blocking patch.
Ning Youji saw what was in his hand and his temple twitched. “There is no need for that.”
“It is winter. Are you not afraid the wound will get worse? You might not be afraid, but I am,” Lin Yan frowned. He stepped onto the sofa and sat behind Ning Youji. “You will end up holding me responsible.”
“Pull your collar down a bit.”
Ning Youji wanted to put up a final struggle, but Lin Yan had already taken matters into his own hands. On the Alpha’s gland, a set of teeth marks was clearly visible. The marks from two symmetrical canine teeth were particularly striking. The surrounding skin was red and swollen. One could imagine how much force he had used when biting last night.
Seeing the wound, Lin Yan said apologetically, “I am sorry.”
He knew very well how private and inviolable an Alpha’s gland was to them. To put it more bluntly, an Alpha’s gland was as important as a man’s lower body. But now, it had been bitten by him. Lin Yan secretly resolved that he would never get this drunk again.
“It is fine,” Ning Youji replied casually. He paused for a moment, and a curve appeared at the corner of his mouth. “I will not hold a grudge against a dog.”
Lin Yan: “…”
Damn it! Lin Yan slapped his hand down on the Omega patch on Ning Youji’s neck. He hoped this refined scoundrel would just die of pain.
In the afternoon, Ning Youji returned home. Ning Heng was sitting on the living room sofa handling company business. Hearing the door open, he looked over to see his son, who had been missing for a day and two nights, return.
“You are back,” Ning Heng’s voice was neutral. “Did you go to that kid’s house?”
Ning Youji paused while changing his shoes. Ning Heng did not smell Alpha pheromones on him. Instead, there was a faint floral scent. “Did that kid help you control your condition?”
Ning Youji narrowed his eyes and met Ning Heng’s gaze. His eyes dimmed, and he nodded with a stiff expression.
Ning Heng looked away and returned to the contract in his hand. “I was upstairs when you left. It is a wonder you dared to go out with such strong pheromones.” Usually, when Ning Youji’s condition flared up, he would release pheromones for at least three days and nights. Now, he had been out for a day and two nights and returned safe and sound. Instead, he was covered in Omega pheromones.
Ning Youji did not say a word and walked straight upstairs.
“By the way, that kid from the Gu family looked for me a couple of days ago,” Ning Heng said suddenly.
Ning Youji paused. His voice was cold. “What did he want?”
“Gu Yu will also be participating in the intellectual training this time.” Ning Heng knew his son’s temper, but he could not help but add, “Actually, that kid is quite suitable. It is just that the pheromone compatibility is a bit low.”
“Dad,” Ning Youji interrupted him. His eyes were downcast, and his entire being radiated a sense of coldness. “I am going upstairs now.”
As Ning Youji reached the door, he happened to run into Su Xue coming out of her room. “Mom,” Ning Youji said. He said nothing else and went straight into his bedroom.
Su Xue went downstairs and spoke to Ning Heng crossly. “Do not bring up the Gu family child in front of our son again.”
“Others have done so much for our son,” Ning Heng frowned. “What is the meaning of this now?”
Su Xue rolled her eyes at him. “It is all because of you. You told others so much, and now you have the nerve to bring it up.” Ning Heng sighed. He had been anxious seeing his son in that state before.
“What is that in your hand?” Ning Heng saw his wife holding a file folder.
“The information on the child I told you about.” Su Xue’s eyes curved as she handed the file to Ning Heng. “I made a copy at the hospital of that child’s pheromone compatibility index with Youji.”
Ning Heng opened the folder and saw the pheromone index for the two of them. He raised an eyebrow. 99.99%. It was practically no different from a hundred percent match. A photo was also attached to the form. Ning Heng suddenly felt a strange sense of familiarity with this child, though he could not say exactly where he had seen him before.
At 10:00 AM on Sunday, Lin Yan and the others returned to school. The school bus was parked at the gate of No. 1 High School. The teacher in charge was a woman in her forties. She stood at the front of the bus. “Is Lin Yan from Class 7 not here yet?”
Lu Xiangshi was frantically making calls, but the other side did not pick up. “What is going on with Brother Lin? Why is he not answering?”
Ning Youji stared out the window. Seeing a boy running in the distance, his brow smoothed out. “He is here.”
“He is here?” Lu Xiangshi leaned halfway out of the window and shouted at the top of his lungs, “Brother Lin, run! Faster!”
Lin Yan got on the bus, panting for breath. “Everyone is here,” the woman said, checking her watch. “Let us depart.”
Li Xingming had originally been sitting with Ning Youji, but seeing Lin Yan, he automatically gave up his seat and sat next to Lu Xiangshi. Lu Xiangshi gave him a playful slap. “Brother, you really know how things work.”
Lin Yan stood in the aisle and pointed to the window seat. “I want this spot.” He felt he was being a bit unreasonable, so he added, “I feel a bit dizzy.”
Once they were seated, Lu Xiangshi asked from behind, “Brother, were you out being a thief yesterday? Your dark circles are so heavy.” The blue tint under Lin Yan’s eyelids was obvious. He looked exhausted.
“Do not mention it,” Lin Yan’s throat was so sore it felt like it was smoking. “I was doing problems until 3:00 AM last night.” He felt like his brain did not belong to him anymore.
“Working that hard?” Lu Xiangshi was sincerely impressed. “As expected of the big boss with the fastest progress in school!” After a few more words, Lin Yan really did not have the energy to keep chatting with the boy.
Lin Yan leaned against the back of the seat, and his eyes began to fight to stay open. Ning Youji sat beside him and turned his head slightly to watch him. Seeing him this tired, the corners of his mouth could not help but curve up.
Lin Yan successfully closed his eyes. The bus suddenly hit a bump. First, his head bumped the seat in front, and then it bounced back and hit the shoulder of the person beside him. Lin Yan was so tired that he did not wake even after being bumped. He only knit his brows slightly.
Ning Youji looked down with a smile. The bus suddenly braked sharply again. Seeing Lin Yan about to pitch forward, Ning Youji was quick enough to catch him. He held his head and gently placed it on his own shoulder.
Behind them, Lu Xiangshi excitedly grabbed Li Xingming’s sleeve. “Let go,” Li Xingming whispered as a warning.
Lu Xiangshi was thick skinned and completely ignored the threat. “Shh, be quiet. You will wake Brother Lin.”
Lin Yan felt like his head was being bothered by something hard. It was uncomfortable. He dazedly squinted his eyes open. He looked up to see Ning Youji’s exquisite jawline. Then, a familiar sandalwood scent drifted over, making him even sleepier. He followed the feeling and slid down, sleeping directly on Ning Youji’s lap.
Ning Youji was stunned. The fan like eyelashes were quietly lowered, and there was a softness at the corners of his eyes and brows. Feeling helpless, he adjusted his sitting position slightly. The head on his lap followed his movement. After finding a comfortable spot, the boy’s cheek rubbed against him twice in an obedient manner.
The aura of the School Boss was completely worn down at this moment, becoming soft and obedient. Ning Youji stared at this dependent look for a while. He could not help but place his hand on the boy’s hair. His fingers slid into the soft strands, and his long fingers curled slightly. It felt soft and ticklish.
Behind them, Lu Xiangshi could no longer contain himself. Like a thief, he pulled out his phone, opened the camera, and set it to silent. After finding the perfect angle, he clicked away frantically, the smile on his face growing wider. He definitely would not keep such beautiful pictures to himself. True to his title of a good son, he sent the photos to Lin Yan’s “son group” on WeChat.
Lu Xiangshi: My Papas are so exciting on the bus!!!
