The Sickly Fake Daughter, But a Beloved Darling of All - Chapter 109
Their kiss was fervent, searingly hot.
The auntie had already departed, and now the space within this house belonged entirely to them. Xu Chengjin gazed into Si Yu’s eyes, and in this moment, she realized with a startle that the other woman’s love was almost overflowing.
“Did something happen?” Si Yu held Xu Chengjin as they tumbled onto the sofa, the two of them squeezed together in a mutual embrace. “Were you moved by me?”
Listening to Si Yu’s joking words, Xu Chengjin couldn’t help but smile. She curled her lips slightly: “That’s right, I was so moved by you that I’m about to shed tears.”
“Really?”
Si Yu sat up and pinched Xu Chengjin’s face. She looked left and right, even letting out a mock-confused “Eh?”: “Where are the tears? Are they being hidden away secretly?”
As she spoke, she lowered her head and bumped her face against Xu Chengjin’s, murmuring: “You really are too thin.”
Xu Chengjin felt a bit ticklish from Si Yu’s antics. She laughed and shrank back a little, but her gaze remained fixed on Si Yu: “I will make sure to eat properly.”
She was well aware that her current weight was completely below standard; she was indeed too thin.
“I will supervise you, too.” Si Yu hugged Xu Chengjin, burying her head in the crook of the other’s neck, saying softly, “I plan to work from home tomorrow. Will you stay with me?”
“Stay with you?” Xu Chengjin let out an “Ah.” She reached out and ruffled Si Yu’s hair. “Having me stay with you is very expensive. Do you have the money?”
Si Yu wore a look of astonishment, which then shifted into helplessness: “I don’t have any money. What should I do then? How about I stay here to take care of you and use myself to pay off the debt?”
“Shameless.”
Xu Chengjin hooked her hand into Si Yu’s, scratching at it idly. She leaned in and whispered into Si Yu’s ear: “Si Yu, that navy blue shirt looks very good.”
Having said that, she struggled out of Si Yu’s arms. Xu Chengjin tried to run, but she was quickly caught from behind by Si Yu. She curved her eyes: “What are you trying to say?”
“You can see now?”
Si Yu turned her around, her face full of pleasant surprise: “Could you already see when you called me today?”
Xu Chengjin nodded. She wrapped her arms around Si Yu’s waist and tilted her head up slightly: “I also secretly went into that room.”
“You’ve already seen it?” Si Yu blinked. She clearly wasn’t prepared for Xu Chengjin to have entered, but she quickly adjusted her emotions. “It’s fine. I was going to take you there anyway. Besides, how can you call it ‘secretly’? This is your home.”
“Does your vision returning make your eyes uncomfortable? Does it hurt anywhere?”
Si Yu looked at Xu Chengjin with a worried expression, fearing the other might have the slightest discomfort, but Xu Chengjin only looked up and kissed her. She shook her head in denial: “No discomfort at all.”
“Si Yu.”
Having taken control of the conversation, Xu Chengjin bit her lip and then asked: “Have we met before? I mean when I was fifteen—did we meet then?”
She had been watching Si Yu’s expression closely, and as expected, after she said those words, a trace of sadness surfaced on the other woman’s face. “We met.”
Si Yu’s voice dropped considerably. She forced a small smile: “We have met.”
In her youth, Si Yu had suffered through too much doubt. Later, when she became an adult, she gradually gained her own voice, but she remained unhappy.
As a child, she had lacked too much love, which led her to present a cold exterior to everyone. Because of this, significant psychological issues emerged. When Si Yu first discovered this, she sought out a psychiatrist; after understanding the situation, the doctor told her to relax properly, to be followed later by medication.
But Si Yu had truly thought about ending it all countless times. That year, she was nineteen.
At the time, Si Yu had bought a villa in the suburbs. She lived there alone to clear her mind—or rather, to battle with herself.
Whether to leave this world or to keep living.
Until one day, a stranger accidentally wandered in. That girl stood outside the fence looking at her with wide eyes: “Hello.”
“Could you help me pick up my beanbag?”
