The Sickly Beauty is Too Good at Seducing - Chapter 25
When Feng Yu arrived, Shen Congbai and Jiang Yan were at a complete standstill.
Having woken up to the heavy scent of hospital disinfectant, Shen Congbai had no appetite; he had only eaten two bites of noodles before refusing to open his mouth again. Jiang Yan was currently holding a soup dumpling, coaxing him to take just one more bite.
Suddenly, there were three polite knocks on the ward door. Jiang Yan’s brow furrowed, and the smile on his face faded slightly, yet he maintained his posture, showing no intention of going to open the door.
Shen Congbai shot him a strange look and urged, “Go open the door, hurry up.”
Jiang Yan acted as if it didn’t matter. He picked up a shrimp dumpling and was about to feed it to Shen Congbai when the door was pushed open.
Feng Yu strolled in. The sudden addition of another man made the small room feel cramped and stifling. When he saw Shen Congbai lying on the sickbed, his face darkened instantly.
At the sight of him, Shen Congbai’s eyes lit up. “Feng Yu! How did you get here so fast?”
Jiang Yan, sitting beside him, felt his eyelid twitch violently. With a sharp snap, the bamboo chopsticks in his hand were broken clean in half.
Feng Yu walked to Shen Congbai’s side, lightly pinched his chin, and examined him closely. He let out a disdainful “Tsk.” “Is the Shen family going bankrupt? How could they put you in a place like this?”
He had only been gone a few days, yet the boy had thinned down so much.
He delivered a kick to Jiang Yan’s stool and said coldly, “Move.”
Jiang Yan shot back a cold sneer, then suddenly hissed in “pain” and turned to Shen Congbai, looking as aggrieved as a slighted wife.
Shen Congbai’s eyelid jumped. He patted the other side of the bed. “Feng Yu, sit here… mmf!”
Before he could finish, Feng Yu scooped him up by the waist and buttocks, propping him on his arm and walking straight toward the exit.
Jiang Yan immediately clamped a hand on Feng Yu’s shoulder, his gaze dark and inscrutable. “What is the meaning of this, Young Master Feng?”
Feng Yu twisted his body to dodge the hand, holding Shen Congbai like a victorious general. “Taking him back to Kyoto, obviously.”
“I’m not a useless waste like you who can only let him stay in a place like this to recover.”
“You!”
Shen Congbai couldn’t listen anymore and interrupted them. “Enough, stop fighting.”
Jiang Yan grit his teeth. “…Young Master, are you really going back to Kyoto with him?”
Shen Congbai didn’t answer him directly. Instead, he patted Feng Yu’s hand, signaling for him to put him back on the bed. Though reluctant, Feng Yu considered Shen Congbai’s health and placed him back down.
Only then did Shen Congbai speak: “Jiang Yan, I’ve told you, don’t keep dreaming of confining me to your side. Even without Feng Yu, there would still be others.”
Before Jiang Yan could even open his mouth, Feng Yu’s face turned green. “Who else are you looking for?”
Shen Congbai felt his scalp go numb. “No… I was just giving an example. Don’t misunderstand.”
Jiang Yan let out a cold laugh. “The Young Master looks so happy the moment he sees him. It truly makes one’s heart grow cold.”
“Can you stop being so sarcastic?” Shen Congbai’s toes peeked out from under the quilt, delivering two blunt kicks to Jiang Yan’s thigh. His pinkish-white, rounded toes were dazzlingly bright against the man’s black suit pants, causing Jiang Yan to let out an ambiguous, muffled groan.
In the next instant, Feng Yu grabbed the boy’s ankle in one hand, his gaze unreadable. “Don’t just touch people randomly. What if he has some foul disease and passes it to you?”
Shen Congbai let out a small “Oh,” giving Jiang Yan the chance to counterattack immediately: “I have remained chaste for the Young Master until now. Unlike Young Master Feng I heard you recently acquired a ‘beauty’ whose face is fifty percent similar to the Young Master’s.”
Shen Congbai instinctively looked at Feng Yu, his heart feeling a momentary throb of sourness. “Is it true?”
Feng Yu squeezed Shen Congbai’s ankle and massaged it twice before tucking it back into the quilt. He replied unhurriedly, “You believe whatever he says? No wonder you’ve been tormented into this state.”
Shen Congbai felt his intelligence had been insulted. He puffed out his cheeks, but for the life of him, he couldn’t think of a comeback.
Feng Yu stood up straight, his eyes fixed on Jiang Yan. “I just didn’t expect Boss Jiang to be so hospitable, sending so many people to ‘greet’ me at the airport. I almost didn’t make it in time.”
Shen Congbai sensed something was wrong and stared wide-eyed at Jiang Yan. “Did you send people to block him?”
Jiang Yan grit his teeth silently before explaining, “I merely told my subordinates to pick him up. They must have misunderstood my meaning.”
Feng Yu plopped down on the other side of Shen Congbai. “Is that so? That was quite careless of them.”
“I’m treating everyone to hotpot tonight. Boss Jiang, remember to eat two extra helpings of pig brain to supplement yours.”
“Young Master Feng should enjoy such delicacies himself.”
The scent of gunpowder was overwhelming. Shen Congbai, squeezed in the middle, was like a spark; one wrong word and everything would explode.
But letting them keep arguing wasn’t a solution. Shen Congbai looked left and right, then suddenly covered his mouth and coughed twice.
Both men went silent instantly. One looked at Shen Congbai while the other looked at the wide-open window.
Feng Yu was the first to pull the quilt up to cover Shen Congbai. Shen Congbai smiled at him. “Thank you.”
Jiang Yan walked to the window just in time to see their interaction. He cursed Feng Yu’s “pretending to be good” act in his heart, using a bit too much force as he shut the window with a loud bang.
When he saw Shen Congbai looking over, his twisted expression vanished instantly. He smiled back. “The Young Master needs to wear more; it’s going to get cold when the rain starts.”
Shen Congbai spared him a glance and replied perfunctorily, “I know.”
Turning back, Shen Congbai looked at the silent Feng Yu and said apologetically, “Jiang Yan’s temper isn’t very good. Please be patient with him.”
Feng Yu let out a light scoff. “I’ve never been one to bicker with idiots.”
“Sigh.” Shen Congbai let out a breath. If he really let Feng Yu take Jiang Yan back to Kyoto, he didn’t know what kind of chaos would erupt.
He looked at Jiang Yan, whose eyes were practically shooting daggers. Forget it. At worst, I’ll just keep a closer eye on him so he doesn’t go out and cause trouble. If he really left him here in Port A, there was no telling what he would turn into.
A layer of worry clouded Shen Congbai’s brow. He gripped Feng Yu’s hand; his cheeks looked terrifyingly gaunt. “Will taking Jiang Yan away bring you trouble?”
Feng Yu raised an eyebrow. “Why do you think he couldn’t leave Port A until now?”
Seeing Shen Congbai’s confused look, Feng Yu’s heart softened into a pool of water. He gave the boy’s hand a slight squeeze. “If you really feel guilty, then please me properly when we get back. I haven’t settled the score with you for that time you broke into my room and saw everything.”
Shen Congbai remembered that incident, and his face flushed. “You were the one being a pervert, you deserved it.”
“And I wonder who was the one who burst—”
Shen Congbai slapped a hand over his mouth. He could feel the man’s warm breath against his palm. He shot a guilty glance at Jiang Yan and whispered, “Don’t talk nonsense!”
“…” Feng Yu blinked, his eyes full of innocence.
Jiang Yan, standing to the side, looked like he was about to grind his teeth to dust. He irritably pried their hands apart. “The Young Master hasn’t finished recovering; let’s focus on his health before talking about anything else.”
Shen Congbai looked at him, feeling helpless. “Don’t be like this.”
Jiang Yan acted as if he hadn’t heard. Shen Congbai added, “Feng Yu came here to take you out of Port A. Can you be a bit more polite to him? Or is it that you hate and want to target anyone or anything associated with me?”
“I…” Jiang Yan panicked. He tried to grab Shen Congbai’s hand, but it was slapped away.
Shen Congbai turned his head away, refusing to look at him. “You wanted to leave Port A so badly. Pack your things; we’re going back to Kyoto tomorrow.”
Jiang Yan’s breathing grew heavy. Across the hospital bed, his eyes locked with Feng Yu’s in a silent confrontation.
Finally, he compromised. Like a defeated dog, he muttered dejectedly, “Okay.”
The next morning, Jiang Yan followed closely behind them, muffled up and hidden. Seeing Feng Yu practically plastered against Shen Congbai, his face was so dark it looked like it was dripping ink.
Right then, Feng Yu slowly turned his head and shot him a provocative look, mouthing silently: Useless.
Jiang Yan’s hands at his sides clenched into fists, the fabric of his sleeves groaning. Just endure a little longer. Once Feng Yu loses his power, the Young Master will belong to me alone.
Shen Congbai suddenly stopped and frowned at Jiang Yan, urging him, “Walk a bit faster, you’re so far behind us.”
Jiang Yan’s expression returned to normal instantly. “Coming.”
Perhaps because high-altitude flight affected his heart and lung function, Shen Congbai’s brow was furrowed the entire way, and he spent the flight in a drowsy stupor.
Feng Yu and Jiang Yan were uncharacteristically quiet, managing to coexist peacefully throughout the journey.
When they finally landed, a listless Shen Congbai was led out by the hand. Amidst the bustling crowd in the distance, someone seemed to be calling his name.
Shen Congbai looked toward the sound. Shen Que was standing straight in the middle of the crowd, wearing a camel-colored wool coat with his hands in his pockets. He lifted his gaze and looked at him quietly.
Sensing his gaze, Shen Que offered a slight smile.
“Wuwu, why didn’t you tell Brother you were coming back?”
