The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 80.2
The next day, the weather was excellent.
The two traveled all over the campus, checking on all the animals recorded in the register and spotting many new strays that had arrived at the school.
After they finished, Lin Luoluo crouched under the shade of a tree, playing with a cat. Zhang Qiu bought a bottle of water and handed it over.
When Lin Luoluo reached out for it, Zhang Qiu took out an alcohol wipe from her pocket and offered it to her first.
“Wash your hands before you drink.”
Lin Luoluo smiled and took it.
She thoroughly wiped her hands, inside and out, before accepting the water.
The bottle cap was already twisted off.
Lin Luoluo glanced at Zhang Qiu, who was tilting her head back to drink water.
Zhang Qiu’s clean, defined jawline was raised, and her white throat subtly moved. Her open collar revealed a sliver of her pale collarbone.
Lin Luoluo unconsciously stared at her snowy-white neck until Zhang Qiu lowered her head to cap the bottle, prompting Lin Luoluo to turn and drink her own water.
Zhang Qiu sat down on the grass, a sense of post-work contentment surrounding her.
“How are you adjusting to school?”
Lin Luoluo nodded.
Zhang Qiu smiled, “Your brother said you’re especially lively. Why are you so quiet around me?”
Lin Luoluo briefly lifted her eyelashes, quietly looking at Zhang Qiu.
It was because Zhang Qiu was too important; she didn’t know how to express herself without being too abrupt.
“Are you free this weekend?” Zhang Qiu’s invitation was natural. “Someone gave me two tickets to the aquarium. The people around me don’t have time. If you’re free, how about the two of us go?”
Is this a date, just the two of us?
Lin Luoluo’s heart began to beat faster. She nodded.
The weekend arrived quickly.
In the morning, Lin Luoluo was putting on makeup at home when Sang Jing called.
“What are you doing this weekend? Our club is having a group dinner. Do you want to join us?”
Lin Luoluo replied reservedly, “I can’t go. I have an appointment.”
“I see.” Sang Jing’s voice was cheerful. “Have fun.”
After hanging up, Lin Luoluo looked at herself in the mirror, her cheeks flushed. She picked up her phone and checked the message from Zhang Qiu.
[See you at nine. Brought you coffee.]
She put down her phone. Seeing her makeup was flawless, she stood up. Someone knocked on the door.
Lin Xiangdong (her brother): “Gu Beichen asked us to go out. We’re going car racing. Are you coming?”
“No, I have something planned.”
Lin Luoluo grabbed her bag, a little annoyed.
Why is everyone asking me out today?
“Where are you going?” Lin Xiangdong stood in the doorway and asked as she opened the door.
“I have a date,” Lin Luoluo said calmly, holding her bag.
“Male or female?” Lin Xiangdong pressed.
“Female,” Lin Luoluo went downstairs, and Lin Xiangdong followed.
“Should I drive you?”
Lin Luoluo stopped. “Didn’t Brother Beichen invite you car racing?”
Lin Xiangdong’s thick eyebrows furrowed. “Is it really a girl?”
Lin Luoluo nodded.
Lin Xiangdong looked at her elaborate makeup, and after a long pause, he managed to blurt out, “You rarely wear makeup.”
Lin Luoluo was surprised Lin Xiangdong noticed. Her brother was such a blockhead; he could usually only tell if she was wearing lipstick. Yet, today he noticed she had done her makeup.
Lin Luoluo pursed her lips. “Can’t a girl wear makeup just to meet another girl?”
Lin Xiangdong stammered, “No, it’s not that.”
He just felt Lin Luoluo was unusually meticulously dressed today. Even the curve of her hair seemed perfectly styled, and she was wearing a necklace he rarely saw.
“Are you really sure you don’t want me to take you?” Lin Xiangdong shouted from upstairs.
“I called a car,” Lin Luoluo waved her hand and disappeared from the doorway.
Lin Xiangdong scratched his head. Gu Beichen called at that moment.
“Dongzi, have you left yet? Mu told me he’s heading out.”
“I’m not coming,” Lin Xiangdong whispered mysteriously. “I have something to do. Next time.”
He still felt Lin Luoluo was acting very strangely today.
He didn’t know who she was meeting.
He quickly ran to the garage, got into his car, and secretly followed Lin Luoluo’s ride.
When Lin Luoluo arrived at the meeting spot, Zhang Qiu was already there, holding a cup of coffee.
Upon seeing Lin Luoluo, she naturally took the bag from her hand and complimented her, “You look so beautiful today. Did you sleep well last night? Your skin looks amazing.”
Lin Luoluo was ecstatic. She suppressed the urge to grin and primly pursed her lips, “I’m okay.”
“Are you hungry? Do you want to grab some breakfast first?” Zhang Qiu asked.
Afraid of messing up her makeup, Lin Luoluo shook her head. “I won’t eat.”
“Then let’s go inside the aquarium.”
Zhang Qiu, ever thoughtful, had already exchanged the tickets for paper ones. They scanned them and entered.
Lin Xiangdong only emerged from behind a pillar, muttering to himself, “It really is a girl, but it’s Zhang Qiu?”
Gu Beichen called again.
“Where are you? Are you coming or not?”
“I’m at the aquarium.”
“The aquarium? What are you doing there?”
“Reminiscing about my youth.”
“Pffthahahaha.” Gu Beichen laughed. “Perfect! Mu and I will come join you. I’m tired of car racing and drinking every time we go out. Let’s do something a little more low-key with you.”
Lin Xiangdong thought it over and agreed.
Inside the aquarium, Zhang Qiu was well-prepared. Instead of renting an audio guide, she walked and explained things herself, providing a wealth of information.
They stood in front of a wall of deep blue ocean. Zhang Qiu spoke softly, “These are Butterflyfish. They often travel in pairs and are known as model couples in the ocean.”
“They say they’re beautiful and devoted.”
“They like to live together in pairs, have strong territorial instincts, and are highly social. They are faithful and devoted in love, always inseparable. When hunting for food, one will stand guard, like a husband protecting his wife.”
“Their colors are vibrant, and they can change color to camouflage and avoid predators.”
“Look over here.”
Lin Luoluo followed Zhang Qiu’s finger. Many butterflyfish were swimming in the coral. Suddenly, a large fish swam over. The butterflyfish quickly darted into the coral, their skin expanding and contracting to match the color of the coral.
Lin Luoluo watched intently. Zhang Qiu turned her head, looking at Lin Luoluo with a gentle smile.
After a walk, they reached the souvenir section.
Lin Luoluo looked down at the display items on the tables. The shop had a lot of aquarium merchandise, including a somewhat ugly shark, some cute marine creature keychains, and postcards from the aquarium.
The aquarium also had a mailbox. If you bought a stamp and got a postmark, the post office would reportedly collect it and deliver it to the person you wanted to send it to.
Many people were writing letters.
Lin Luoluo felt a sudden impulse.
She asked the store clerk for a pen and chose a beautiful postcard.
Zhang Qiu glanced at her and also picked one.
They sat at a table, heads bowed, writing carefully at the same time.
Zhang Qiu went to buy stamps and an envelope to seal the postcard.
Lin Luoluo dropped the postmarked card into the mailbox. Zhang Qiu asked, “Who are you mailing it to?”
“Someone very important to me.”
“What a coincidence. Me too.”
“Can you wait for me here?” Zhang Qiu said after mailing her letter. “I’ll be right back.”
“Just wait a moment.”
Lin Luoluo nodded obediently. Zhang Qiu smiled at her, her dark eyes sparkling, seemingly holding some secret.
Lin Luoluo stood in front of the display tank by the shop entrance, watching the brightly colored fluorescent fish inside.
A moment later, a tap landed on her shoulder, and a bouquet of flowers magically appeared before her.
Lin Luoluo looked up. Zhang Qiu lowered the flowers, revealing her beautiful, sharp face. Her expression was so serious it betrayed her nervousness.
“Lin Luoluo,” Zhang Qiu said in a low voice, slightly hoarse with tension.
Only the bouquet of brightly colored roses stood between them. “From the first moment I saw you, you made my heart flutter. Perhaps we haven’t known each other long enough, but I am certain that I fell in love with you at first sight. I like you. Would you consider developing our relationship from friends to lovers?”
Her voice was soft, as if afraid of being overheard, yet her declaration was bold, making a confession in a public place. Lin Luoluo covered her mouth, her eyes welling up with tears.
“I hope you will seriously consider my feelings for you. It might be a bit sudden, but it is my true feeling.”
Zhang Qiu tucked the flowers into Lin Luoluo’s arms.
“You don’t have to answer me now. Would you give me a reply in a month?”
Lin Luoluo opened her mouth, but a choked sob prevented her from uttering a syllable. She nodded.
Zhang Qiu reached out and gently rubbed her head. Seeing that Lin Luoluo didn’t flinch, she felt a little more composed.
In the distance, Gu Beichen’s sharp eyes caught the interaction between Zhang Qiu and Lin Luoluo. He nudged Lin Xiangdong. “Are you stalking them?”
Lin Xiangdong’s face was long. “I just happened to walk here.”
Gu Beichen was about to wave them over when he suddenly saw Zhang Qiu lean in and kiss Lin Luoluo’s forehead. He froze in place. Not just him; Mu Yunchun and Lin Xiangdong also froze.
Zhang Qiu took Lin Luoluo’s hand and walked out of the aquarium.
Gu Beichen and Lin Xiangdong only came out, feeling guilty, after they left. The three grown men stood by the aquarium entrance, tiptoeing around. After a long moment, Lin Xiangdong let out a thunderous shout.
“Damn it!”
The person Lin Luoluo had been talking about liking all this time was Zhang Qiu!
No wonder she was concerned about whether the other person had broken up.
He grabbed Gu Beichen by the collar with his fist. “You and Zhang Qiu really have no chance left?”
Gu Beichen didn’t understand why Lin Xiangdong was acting crazy. He said in confusion, “We officially broke up. What do you think?”
Lin Xiangdong released his grip, covered his head, and squatted down, his face a mess.
“So that’s it.”
“No wonder she kept rejecting everyone; she likes women.”
“Wait a minute, how did they get together?!”
Gu Beichen looked at the disheveled Lin Xiangdong, then world-wearily hooked his arm around Mu Yunchun’s neck and said kindly, “Little brother, you don’t have a chance either.
