The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 37
“And to think you all admired her so much.”
No sooner had Shu Bai’s voice faded than Lin Luoluo’s anger flared, and she hurled her bag at Shu Bai.
“Say that again!”
Shu Bai narrowly managed to catch the bag.
Everyone looked over. Lin Luoluo sneered and asked, “What did you just say?”
“Gossiping behind someone’s back, your mouth is truly vile!”
Shu Bai’s face flushed. She hadn’t expected a private discussion with a friend to be overheard by others, especially by someone she had a slight crush on. She forced herself to stand her ground. “I said it, so what? Zhang Qiu is just a pretentious fake! She constantly puts on this aloof, unworldly act, but in reality, isn’t she just vain and materialistic!”
Lin Luoluo wanted nothing more than to tear Shu Bai’s mouth apart.
Her eyes were filled with disgust. “Knowing someone like you is truly sickening!”
With that, she snatched her bag and walked away.
The people in the library had gotten a show. Shu Bai’s face turned from red to white, and she couldn’t stand being there any longer. She ran out of the library, leaving her belongings behind on the seat.
Xue Hua worriedly asked, “Are they going to be okay?”
Luo Ning packed up Shu Bai’s things and quietly said, “You go back first. Is your boyfriend picking you up?”
“He has class this afternoon,” Xue Hua replied.
“Let’s split up. I’ll go look for Shu Bai.” Luo Ning shouldered Shu Bai’s bag, nodded to Xue Hua, and left first. Xue Hua, also worried, picked up her things and left the library.
After leaving the library, Luo Ning messaged Shu Bai, but got no reply. After some thought, Luo Ning guessed that Shu Bai might be on the sports field to clear her head.
She walked to the field and, sure enough, found Shu Bai’s figure on the high steps of the stands.
Shu Bai was clutching her head, buried in her arms.
Luo Ning stood quietly in front of her for a moment before speaking. “I know you didn’t mean it that way. You’re just frustrated about Senior Zhang Qiu.”
Shu Bai looked up, seeing Luo Ning’s calm face.
She uncomfortably turned her head, put her legs down, and said, “I wouldn’t dare be frustrated.”
Luo Ning gave a cold laugh. “What good is sulking? Shu Bai, you’re just a coward.”
Shu Bai’s heart skipped a beat, but she didn’t respond, still sulking and not wanting to talk to Luo Ning.
Luo Ning sat down next to her, looking at the distant blue sky and white clouds, and said thoughtfully, “You clearly like Senior Zhang Qiu, but you’re just lashing out because she’s not a lesbian.”
“Falling for a straight girl is the fate of every lesbian.”
Shu Bai turned around with a sharp tone. “What do you know? My gaydar is never wrong! She’s definitely gay, she just doesn’t dare to admit it!”
Luo Ning told Shu Bai, “She has a boyfriend.”
“Then she’s bi! That’s even more disgusting!” Shu Bai made a gagging face and was slapped lightly by Luo Ning.
The slap was soft, but it was enough to make Shu Bai look at her in disbelief.
She widened her eyes, looking a bit silly.
Luo Ning lectured her, “That’s rude.”
“None of your business,” Shu Bai rolled her eyes.
Luo Ning narrowed her eyes, looking at the challenging expression on Shu Bai’s face. She thought Shu Bai was a little irritating, yet also somewhat cute.
She leaned in, firmly pinched Shu Bai’s chin, and bit her.
Shu Bai’s eyes widened. She was so astonished that she forgot to resist, easily allowing Luo Ning to press forward and conquer the territory within her lips.
Luo Ning was incredibly skilled; her tongue danced.
The sucking made Shu Bai’s scalp tingle and her toes curl.
Someone in the distance was shouting and cheering; it seemed to be a sports class from another group finishing up. Shu Bai nervously pushed Luo Ning away, covered her mouth, and stared at Luo Ning with resentment.
Luo Ning licked her lips, fully satisfied. “I forgot to mention, I’m gay too.”
…
Lin Luoluo was walking angrily around the campus, kicking pebbles.
She should never have accepted Shu Bai’s group invitation! What nonsense! A sneak who gossips behind people’s backs!
Pah!
Lin Luoluo only regretted her poor quick wit, unable to come up with more insults at the time to prevent that sneak Shu Bai from getting the upper hand in their verbal fight.
She should have hit her a few more times with the bag!
Lin Luoluo furiously kicked a small stone on the side of the road.
Still feeling frustrated, she swung her small fist into the air.
Putting her fist down, Lin Luoluo dejectedly lowered her head and walked slowly along the school’s plane tree avenue.
The plane tree avenue was lush and green, and the road was wide. People occasionally passed by, riding bicycles with passengers.
Lin Luoluo sighed, then patted her cheeks to cheer herself up.
Since time had already been wasted, perhaps it was better to go find Zhang Qiu early.
Thinking this, her mood brightened.
Just as she looked up, she bumped into a somewhat familiar unpleasant face.
Lin Luoluo was momentarily face-blind and couldn’t recognize who the person was, but she instinctively felt that the person staring at her wasn’t right. However, the exit to the school was right ahead. She frowned and walked closer, hearing the familiar voice of the person: “Lin Luoluo.”
Lin Luoluo frowned. She wanted to avoid him but had nowhere to run, so she braced herself and greeted the person walking toward her, “Hi, Gu Beichen.”
Gu Beichen stopped, a half-smile on his face.
“Why aren’t you calling me Brother Beichen anymore?”
Call you what! Calling you Gu Beichen is already a favor to the system!
Lin Luoluo complained internally, but outwardly she was all sweetness, smoothly saying, “Brother Beichen, why are you at school today?”
“To find you,” Gu Beichen teased her intentionally.
Lin Luoluo felt a bitter taste in her mouth.
Seriously? Why is it that every time she wants to go see Zhang Qiu, a sudden event is triggered?
Lin Luoluo twitched the corner of her mouth, looking at the man standing beside Gu Beichen.
The man had a very ordinary face, so ordinary that he would be lost in a crowd, yet his demeanor was very refined. Every gesture exuded scholarly air, suggesting he was not an ordinary person. At the moment, he was watching Lin Luoluo with great interest.
“Doesn’t Brother Beichen have a guest?” Lin Luoluo asked.
“I won’t delay your time together,” the man said with a smile.
Gu Beichen didn’t bother with introductions, instead saying, “Follow me.”
After saying this, he seemed not to have considered Lin Luoluo’s feelings, and just started walking with the guest.
Lin Luoluo puffed up her cheeks, glaring angrily at Gu Beichen’s retreating back.
What kind of egomaniac was he? Did he think she was automatically going to follow him?
Lin Luoluo was still glaring at Gu Beichen when the guest in front suddenly turned and glanced at her. Lin Luoluo quickly retracted her expression and forced a smile, which looked a little strained.
The man waved and said, “Luoluo, come over.”
Lin Luoluo was a little confused. Did this person know her? Why was he calling her so intimately?
She walked over slowly. The man extended his hand and said, “Hello, I’m Gu Beichen’s maternal uncle, Sang Zimo.”
Oh! A member of the Sang family! Sang Tian, Gu Beichen’s mother’s, older brother—the one doing academic research abroad!
Lin Luoluo suddenly understood. She extended her hand too, and they had a quick, shallow handshake.
Although they had never met, Lin Luoluo already felt quite favorably towards Sang Zimo.
That’s because, in the original book, he was the only one who didn’t object to Zhang Qiu based on her background.
“Uncle, why are you at our school today?” Lin Luoluo asked curiously. She remembered that in the original book, Sang Zimo was always abroad doing research and only appeared in a phone call when Sang Tian complained to him about their son finding a commoner girlfriend.
Sang Zimo smiled and said, “I’ve been abroad for too long and miss home a bit. I’m here to apply for a position at your school this time. If I can stay, I won’t go back overseas.”
Lin Luoluo’s eyes widened in surprise. “With your accomplishments, people would want you anywhere! Getting a job at our school would surely be a piece of cake!”
“Beichen mentioned me to you?” Sang Zimo was surprised. He glanced at Gu Beichen, not expecting the cold-faced kid to actually talk about his family affairs with this girl.
Lin Luoluo’s heart skipped a beat.
Of course, Gu Beichen hadn’t mentioned it. She knew all this from the system.
Gu Beichen would never tell her these things.
Gu Beichen was also a little confused, but then he thought that Lin Luoluo was a member of the Lin family, so maybe someone in her family told her about Sang Zimo.
Gu Beichen said coolly, “Uncle, the principal is still waiting for you.”
Sang Zimo shook his head helplessly. “You’ve been saying that the whole way. I know.”
The two continued walking, and Lin Luoluo quickly followed.
Sang Zimo was an elder, so it wouldn’t look good if she didn’t follow.
When they reached the principal’s office, Sang Zimo went in to chat, and Gu Beichen stood outside the door with Lin Luoluo. Lin Luoluo quietly asked, “How’s it going?”
Gu Beichen said coldly, “With Uncle’s credentials, the principal naturally couldn’t be happier. It’s just that the terms haven’t been negotiated yet.”
“Oh.” The atmosphere grew cold again. Lin Luoluo and Gu Beichen really had nothing to talk about. He wasn’t Zhang Qiu, who needed Lin Luoluo to actively find topics. Lin Luoluo stared boredly at the white wall. After waiting a while and seeing that the conversation inside was far from over, she softly asked, “Can I leave now?”
Gu Beichen finally turned to look at her, a cold smile playing on his lips. “Lin Luoluo, have you forgotten something?”
Lin Luoluo ‘ah’-ed, looking back at him in confusion.
Gu Beichen enunciated slowly, “Someone just confessed to me in front of all the guests yesterday, saying she was going to pursue me one more time. Is this how you’re doing your pursuit plan?”
A thunderbolt.
Boom, Lin Luoluo was shattered.
She knew that meeting Gu Beichen never meant anything good.
She did have a pursuit plan, but it was for Zhang Qiu, not Gu Beichen.
Lin Luoluo bit her lip.
Thinking of her way to get rid of Gu Beichen, she faced him with a martyr’s resolve and said, “Of course, I have a plan.”
“Then I’ll give you a chance now.” Gu Beichen’s eyes were deep, and if you looked closely, there was a hint of sarcasm hidden within. “Try pursuing me.”
“Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance then.”
“Starting tomorrow, report to me daily.”
“My dad cut off my card, so remember to bring me lunch.”
“You can manage picking me up and dropping me off from work, right?”
Why don’t you just die?!
Lin Luoluo ground her teeth, feeling like if she had a knife right now, she’d send Gu Beichen straight to heaven to see the Buddha.
Hold it in, hold it in.
Lin Luoluo warned herself.
She forced a stiff, unnatural smile and declined, “Gu Beichen, it’s not that I can’t do it, but I have classes, and I really don’t have the time.”
“How about this, I’ll hire a nanny to take care of you, how does that sound?”
Perfect to take care of your paralyzed self! Lin Luoluo cursed inwardly.
Gu Beichen stared at her intently, his lips slightly curved. “If that’s the case, then okay.”
He’s actually indulging in his young master’s temper now!
Lin Luoluo felt she absolutely had to say something to annoy Gu Beichen. “Why did Uncle cut off your card? Was it because you were too much and made him angry? Uncle has good intentions. If you apologize, he’ll surely cool down.”
Lin Luoluo was being utterly insincere.
Gu Beichen snorted coldly. “None of your business.”
“How can that be? Gu Beichen, Uncle is so kind! He definitely wants to temper you. How about this, I won’t hire a nanny for you either. Gu Beichen, you work hard! You’ll definitely make Uncle look at you differently! I have faith in you!”
Lin Luoluo’s smile was sweet.
Gu Beichen’s face darkened.
Sang Zimo came out and looked at the two—one quiet, one animated—and wondered, “What are you two talking about outside?”
Lin Luoluo called out “Uncle” and then immediately clustered up to him and told him everything with a flurry of chirps.
“Uncle wanted to temper Gu Beichen and cut off his card. I originally wanted to help Brother Beichen, but then I thought, that would let down Uncle’s hard work, so I didn’t help him. Uncle, you won’t help him either, right?” She looked worried.
Sang Zimo glanced at Gu Beichen and answered with a smile, “Of course not.”
Gu Beichen’s face grew even darker.
