The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 36
“Zhang Qiu, are you okay now?” Hearing Zhang Qiu’s voice, Lin Xiangdong greeted her. “Where did you two go? Why aren’t you in the ward?” When speaking to Zhang Qiu, Lin Xiangdong naturally couldn’t be as informal as he was with his own family, so he sounded a bit more proper.
Zhang Qiu maintained her original posture, standing behind Lin Luoluo. Lin Luoluo’s hand holding the phone was raised to her ear, and she could hear Lin Xiangdong’s annoying voice coming from the receiver.
Zhang Qiu grabbed Lin Luoluo’s wrist with one hand, leaned in close to her ear, and spoke to Lin Xiangdong: “We’re going to pick up the medical report.”
“Oh, good. I’ll wait for you in the ward then.”
“Mhm.”
That soft sound, like a feather brushing past Lin Luoluo’s earlobe, made her blush deeply and stiffen in Zhang Qiu’s embrace.
Cool fingertips slid across her wrist, and Zhang Qiu let go, stepping back.
Lin Luoluo dared not turn around, afraid Zhang Qiu would notice the strange look on her face.
It felt like a dream.
They had been so close. She could still smell a lingering fragrance on her earlobe. Lin Luoluo’s eyes were glazed over.
“Luoluo,” Zhang Qiu’s voice came from behind her. “Sorry.”
What was she apologizing for?
She should be the one apologizing.
For her heart racing because of the closeness.
“I answered your phone without your permission.”
“N-no worries.” Lin Luoluo was practically bubbling with happiness. She forced herself to calm down, feeling the hot flush burning on her face. She felt like she was burning up and speaking nonsense.
“A-are we there yet?”
“A little more walking.”
Zhang Qiu naturally walked over, took Lin Luoluo’s hand, and led her forward.
Zhang Qiu was a head taller than Lin Luoluo. She wore a loose hospital gown that hung emptily on her shoulders, making her look very thin, but Lin Luoluo knew that underneath this relaxed attire was powerful muscle.
She could even princess-carry her.
Lin Luoluo’s face grew even hotter, like a bellows had been opened, and the flames were roaring higher.
The heat made her dizzy, and she couldn’t help but take a step closer, entwining her fingers with Zhang Qiu’s.
Zhang Qiu’s body stiffened, and she instinctively looked at Lin Luoluo. But Lin Luoluo shyly turned her head away, only showing her reddened cheek and a bashful, pink earlobe.
A small smile curled Zhang Qiu’s lips. She gripped Lin Luoluo’s hand tightly.
Feeling the coolness in her palm gradually being warmed by the other girl’s body temperature, the human furnace, Lin Luoluo, couldn’t stop her lips from spreading into a wide grin. Her mood was as bright as a sunny day.
“Doctor, we’re here to pick up the report.” Arriving at the imaging report room, Zhang Qiu knocked on the door. The doctor sternly asked, “Name.”
“Zhang Qiu.”
“Mhm, here you go. This is your report. No problems.” the doctor said.
Zhang Qiu smiled as she accepted it and said thank you. Lin Luoluo did a small jump on the spot, happy for Zhang Qiu.
“Big Sis can be discharged tomorrow! Should we celebrate tonight?”
Zhang Qiu covered her stomach, slightly reluctant to refuse Lin Luoluo.
The doctor told her to eat light for the next two days and avoid stimulating foods like meat, spicy peppers, and alcohol.
She didn’t tell Lin Luoluo and simply nodded yes.
Lin Luoluo became even happier and skipped all the way back.
Lin Xiangdong had been waiting in the ward for a long time, bored. He opened a game and played a few rounds, dying immediately upon landing in every single one, which made him so angry he punched the wall.
“You jerk, are you going crazy?” Lin Luoluo pushed the door open. Seeing Lin Xiangdong, she instinctively tried to close the door, but Zhang Qiu stopped her.
The door’s recoil might hit Lin Luoluo, and she worried about her getting hurt.
Zhang Qiu held the door open, signaling Lin Luoluo to enter first before following her inside.
Lin Xiangdong put down his phone and angrily scratched his hair. “This crap game, it has zero enjoyment!”
Lin Luoluo glanced at the battle royale screen and mocked, “With your terrible skill, nothing will be enjoyable.”
“Still better than you, right?” Lin Xiangdong turned his head away smugly and picked up his phone.
“Yes, yes, better than me. But for a skill master like you to compare yourself to a newbie like me, aren’t you embarrassed! If you’ve got the guts, compare yourself to Zhang Qiu!” Lin Luoluo made a face at Lin Xiangdong.
Zhang Qiu poured two cups of water for them.
Lin Xiangdong rolled his eyes and asked, “You’ve finished your visit, are you going back to school this afternoon?”
“No rush,” Lin Luoluo tried to stall for time. Her eyes darted around, and she suggested, “How about we play a game? Whoever gets the most kills, I’ll treat them to dinner!”
“Do I really need your meal?” Lin Xiangdong said, but still picked up his phone and motioned for Zhang Qiu to log in.
Zhang Qiu smiled as she watched the two siblings bicker. Without hesitation, she logged into her account and looked at Lin Luoluo, saying, “Get online, I’ll carry you.”
Lin Luoluo originally wanted to watch Zhang Qiu play since she was quite a burden in games.
But she still agreed with a smile.
Lin Xiangdong immediately leaned over. “Take me too, why play alone?”
Lin Luoluo pouted. “Beg me.”
“Zhang Qiu’s carrying.”
“I listen to Luoluo,” Zhang Qiu said with a smile.
Seeing the two of them acting as a united front, Lin Xiangdong quickly “caved.” “Big Sis, please~~”
Lin Luoluo covered her mouth and laughed, then sent an invite. Lin Xiangdong quickly joined in, clicked ‘Ready,’ and the game began.
With Zhang Qiu, they were guaranteed to win, so Lin Xiangdong’s initial competitive spirit soon faded, and he became a moving storage locker, immediately giving any good items to Zhang Qiu. Zhang Qiu didn’t disappoint and successfully carried them to victory.
Lin Luoluo could only tut-tut at Lin Xiangdong’s shameless behavior.
Lin Xiangdong, completely unbothered, said, “This is called strategy.”
“Strategy is being far behind!” Lin Luoluo shook her head. “It turns out someone is just as bad as me. Headshotted with one bullet, dying immediately upon landing, huh.”
Lin Xiangdong chose to be the bigger person and walked over to Zhang Qiu to watch her avenge them.
They had just started a new round. This time, he and Lin Luoluo had both fallen victim, dying immediately upon landing. Only Zhang Qiu was quick to react and was still alive, but she had only managed to pick up a single frying pan. Lin Xiangdong was very worried, as she was up against an opponent with a shotgun and a submachine gun.
“How are you going to fight that!”
Zhang Qiu calmly flashed behind one person and gave them a knock to the head with the pan. Seeing the opponent fall, she didn’t finish them off, watching the enemy crawl around while their teammate tried to come and save them.
Movement, movement, more movement.
The opponent’s shotgun had limited range, but it hit hard.
Zhang Qiu was wearing a Level 1 vest, which could absorb some damage. She constantly jumped and then, with a flying leap, the frying pan successfully took down another opponent.
Lin Xiangdong yelled, “Oh yeah!” cheering happily in the hospital room!
Then, just as he was about to watch Zhang Qiu’s next move, Zhang Qiu picked up a grenade and blew herself up.
“No way, man, that’s just touching!”
Lin Xiangdong was teary-eyed. “We die, and you won’t live alone!”
Zhang Qiu glanced at him, too lazy to respond, and asked Lin Luoluo, “Want to play again?”
Lin Luoluo looked at the time. It was almost 3 PM. Her phone had been vibrating non-stop. Shu Bai was asking in the group chat when she’d get to school. She regretfully shook her head. “I have a group assignment today, and I arranged to meet someone at the library.”
Zhang Qiu nodded. “Then let’s stop playing.”
“See you tonight.” Lin Luoluo’s eyes curved like a crescent moon. “Remember what we agreed on, I’m treating you to dinner.”
Zhang Qiu was about to agree when a mischievous dog-head appeared next to her. Lin Xiangdong furtively asked, “What about me? Aren’t you going to treat your own brother?”
Lin Luoluo pushed him away. “You’re definitely not invited.”
Lin Xiangdong feigned disappointment, but no one paid attention to him.
Lin Luoluo put on her bag and said, “I’ll pick you up from the hospital tomorrow, I don’t have morning classes.”
Zhang Qiu nodded with a smile and saw Lin Luoluo and Lin Xiangdong out.
She watched them get into the elevator, stood at the door for a moment, and then went back into the ward.
On the way, Lin Xiangdong yawned. “Do you need me to drop you off tonight?”
“No need.” Lin Luoluo shook her head while looking at her phone. She replied to Shu Bai in the group chat: [I’m almost there.]
[We’re already here.]
Shu Bai sent a selfie from the library.
The girl was eye-catching, her earrings glinting.
Lin Luoluo couldn’t help but frown. Who sends a selfie at the drop of a hat!
The photo was cool, but it felt odd.
“Are you sure you don’t need a ride? Do you know the way?” Lin Xiangdong was still rambling.
“How long has it been since you came back? What if you get lost? Why don’t I just drop you off?”
Lin Luoluo rolled her eyes, put down her phone, and said to her annoying brother, “Don’t you know there’s a thing called Baidu Maps?”
Lin Xiangdong shut up, but after a moment, he couldn’t help but say, “What if you run into a bad person?”
“Won’t I run away? Besides, is the public security in the country that bad now?” Lin Luoluo retorted.
“Well, no.” Lin Xiangdong, still not giving up, said, “Actually, having me join you wouldn’t be bad either.”
Lin Luoluo didn’t want Lin Xiangdong, that big mouth, to ruin her one-on-one time with Zhang Qiu. She shot back, “Is my dear brother a lonely man with no one to keep him company?”
Checkmate. Lin Xiangdong finally shut up.
When they arrived at the school, Lin Luoluo hopped out of the car. Lin Xiangdong rolled down the window, worriedly asking, “Can you spot the person?”
Lin Luoluo confidently said, “I can’t spot the person, but I have a brain.”
“A brain?” Lin Xiangdong watched Lin Luoluo run away in confusion.
That’s true, how did Lin Luoluo recognize all of them in the past few days?
Lin Xiangdong was a little curious. He shook his head and drove off.
Arriving at the library, Lin Luoluo asked Shu Bai for their location, then opened the selfie Shu Bai had sent, examining the environment in the photo and the clothes she was wearing.
She couldn’t recall the other two from the morning, but Lin Luoluo remembered Shu Bai’s ash-grey short hair. Sure enough, she easily found her way to the third floor of the library and saw Shu Bai’s distinctive haircut. There shouldn’t be many people in the whole library with hair dyed so unconventionally.
Lin Luoluo walked closer, just about to say hello, when she suddenly heard them discussing the name Zhang Qiu. She quietly slowed her steps and heard Shu Bai say disdainfully, “Zhang Qiu? Isn’t she just a pretentious poser?”
