The Protagonist 'Gong' Became my Wife - Chapter 22
Chapter 22: Gu Zhuo, Bite Me
At the very moment the encrypted data was about to explode, Gu Zhuo arrived at the door of the suite.
He kicked the door open.
The scene before him made him hesitate for a moment; the encrypted data began to slowly drop, but it remained at a dangerous level.
Inside the room, Jiang Yanning, who was currently beating He Wenyun into a pulp, froze on the spot. He stood up awkwardly.
“Gu Zhuo? Why are you here?”
Gu Zhuo didn’t say a word. He stepped forward, grabbed He Wenyun by the collar, and personally delivered a punch. His strength was naturally great, and he sent one of He Wenyun’s teeth flying.
Jiang Yanning turned his head slightly but did not stop him. Recalling what had just happened, he wished he had never known He Wenyun in the first place.
Today, he had originally intended to come for a drink to relieve some stress, but who knew that He Wenyun would drug his alcohol. Before knowing he was the culprit, Jiang Yanning had still trusted him. However, the further he walked upstairs, the more he felt something was wrong.
It wasn’t until they entered the room that He Wenyun suddenly unbuttoned his coat, knelt down directly, and hugged Jiang Yanning’s legs.
“Yanning, please have me. I’ve had a crush on you for three years, but you’ve never had me in your eyes. I thought Gu Zhuo would be your exception, but I didn’t expect you could even accept Ding You! Yanning, since they are all okay, why won’t you look at me?”
Jiang Yanning was thoroughly disgusted. Propping up his hazy head, he gave him a punch. Thinking that wasn’t enough, he added a few more kicks.
And then, Gu Zhuo entered.
The screams in his ears grew more miserable. Jiang Yanning moved to the sofa and slowly sat down. His breathing became faster and faster, his whole body was burning up, and he wanted to jump into water to soak. He had experienced this feeling once before, and at that time, Gu Zhuo was by his side.
Now, he similarly could no longer hold on.
Seeing that He Wenyun’s resistance was growing weaker, Jiang Yanning forced himself to stand up. He pulled Gu Zhuo to the side and locked the immobile He Wenyun into one of the rooms.
Before Gu Zhuo could question him, Jiang Yanning leaned against him, his scalding forehead resting in the crook of Gu Zhuo’s neck.
Stimulated into a slight state of clarity, Gu Zhuo said worriedly, “You… How are you? I’ll call an ambulance.”
Just then, Qi Chi’s voice sounded from outside the door.
“Junior? Junior, are you there? It’s late, do you need me to see you home?”
Qi Chi pressed his ear against the door, trying to capture any movement inside. It seemed like there was a fight just now? Would the Junior be hurt?
As he was speculating, the door panel near his ear was suddenly bumped by something. He seemed to be able to hear the sound of erratic breathing inside.
Qi Chi thought of something; his face turned blue and red in turns. Finally, he swung his hand in resentment and stumbled out of the “Twilight” club.
Inside the room, the moment Gu Zhuo touched the doorknob, he was pushed against the door by Jiang Yanning. Those misty eyes were very close to him; he subconsciously held his breath.
“Gu Zhuo? Are you going to find him? You won’t go home with me… did you make an appointment with him?”
Gu Zhuo nodded honestly. He couldn’t reveal matters regarding the mission, but he still had this much candor.
However, after Jiang Yanning heard this, he seemed to be triggered by something and his eyes instantly reddened. The drugs and alcohol caused him to lose his reason. He desperately tried to remember what could keep Gu Zhuo here.
Don’t go looking for someone else.
Finally, he bit his lower lip in shame and tilted the back of his neck toward him. The milky-scented pheromones he unconsciously released enticed Gu Zhuo into reflexively baring his canine teeth.
“Gu Zhuo, bite me.”
“You… what did you say?”
In this instant, Gu Zhuo forgot today’s mission and forgot He Wenyun in the bedroom; he could only hear that one sentence in his ears.
“Gu Zhuo, I’ll let you bite me. Don’t leave.”
77, who had been forced back into “Mosaic Mode” again, breathed a sigh of relief and stared unblinkingly at the light screen inside the space. Inside the space, the piercing red light slowly receded. The encrypted data drifted down, falling below the critical threshold, though it remained higher than usual.
This vigil lasted the whole night.
At four in the morning, Gu Zhuo walked out of the other bedroom alone, gently closing the door to avoid waking the soundly sleeping Jiang Yanning.
He was still wearing those messy old clothes. His exposed arms and chest were covered in scratch marks and red prints. His hair was slightly damp with sweat, but his face showed no sign of fatigue; only the redness at the corners of his eyes indicated his satisfaction with the intense exercise just now.
77, come here.
Although his tone was languid and seemingly gentle, 77 knew it was all a facade. It didn’t dare to disobey and slowly landed on the table opposite Gu Zhuo.
Host, what is it?
Gu Zhuo flexed his fingers and jerked his chin toward the bedroom next door.
If I kill him, what price will I pay?
77 was so scared its data lagged, and it replied with a shaking voice.
You can’t! Host! He is one of the cannon fodder gongs (attackers). If he dies, the mission will definitely fail!
So what? I only want to know what price I will pay.
You… you naturally wouldn’t be able to be resurrected and return to your original world.
Gu Zhuo’s expression didn’t change. His finger tapped his knee one beat at a time, seemingly weighing the pros and cons.
Fearing he would go mad, 77’s data ran at high speed. From the results it obtained, it picked a sentence that best fit the current situation.
Not only that, after the mission fails, this small world will completely collapse. The people you know here will also cease to exist!
Including Jiang Yanning!
77 added a sentence based on its intuition.
Gu Zhuo didn’t speak for a long time. Just as 77 thought the reason was useless, he slowly stood up. Like dragging a dead dog, he dragged He Wenyun out of the bedroom.
He Wenyun had woken up at some point. Seeing Gu Zhuo, his face turned red and white. He even dared to glare at him.
Gu Zhuo let out a laugh. He picked up a fruit knife from the table and pressed it against his throat.
“What? You heard everything?”
He Wenyun couldn’t help but recall the sounds coming from next door just now. His breathing grew heavier, and he was slapped hard with the side of the dagger by Gu Zhuo, who noticed his abnormality. A bloodstain appeared on his face.
“Just now, Gege (Older Brother) was here, so it wasn’t convenient for me to be ruthless. Now it’s fine; Gege has fallen asleep. Remember to keep it down. Don’t wake Gege up.”
The tone was clearly very gentle, but He Wenyun couldn’t stop shaking. Those pitch-black eyes had no trace of human warmth at all, as if this person had crawled out from a mountain of corpses and a sea of fire. With a rise and fall of the hand, the blade could kill in one strike.
He Wenyun trembled violently. A scream was suppressed deep in his throat, emitting only a short gasp of air before he lost consciousness.
Seeing that he had fainted from fear, Gu Zhuo couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed. He stood up and briskly clapped his hands. He exchanged a bottle of disinfectant from 77 and meticulously wiped every single finger.
Only then did he open the bedroom door to go in, instructing 77 not to let anyone disturb him.
On the bed, Jiang Yanning was nestled in the quilt with only half his head showing. Gu Zhuo’s heart softened. He shed his dirty clothes and slid into Jiang Yanning’s embrace. Resting his head against the soft, elastic chest, he heard the powerful sound of a heartbeat in his ear.
Gu Zhuo recalled the last sentence Jiang Yanning said before falling asleep and moved his lips to give him an answer.
“Don’t look for anyone else, I’ll let you bite me.”
“There is no one else. There will only be you.”
And Gege will only have me.
