The Premeditated Seductress Childhood Friend - Chapter 29
Chapter 29: Possible
Xu Qingyu didn’t say anything; she simply transferred some of the noodles from her bowl to Song Yixi’s.
She couldn’t finish it all. Song Yixi was used to this and naturally pushed her bowl forward to receive them.
“Eat the meat and greens, and the egg too.”
“Mhm.”
Xu Qingyu left a small portion of noodles and, as Song Yixi requested, finished all the toppings.
After eating, the two went upstairs to change into casual clothes before driving out. Song Yixi took the lead—she was the one in charge today.
The car twisted and turned through narrow alleys. Once Song Yixi parked, she pulled a pair of earplugs from her pocket. “Here, put these on.”
Xu Qingyu looked at them but didn’t move. “Is there a blindfold segment coming up too?”
Song Yixi shook her head. “No. It’s very loud inside, and I’m afraid you won’t be able to stand it. You’ll be more comfortable with these in.”
Understanding now, Xu Qingyu leaned in closer. “Help me.”
Song Yixi had no choice but to open the packaging. She reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind Xu Qingyu’s ear. Her fingers brushed against Xu Qingyu’s earlobe. It felt soft and springy; the moment Song Yixi touched it, the skin grew hot. Consequently, Song Yixi’s hand grew hot too.
Feeling a bit anxious, she wanted to get it over with quickly, but earplugs weren’t that easy to put in. She had to bite her lip and lean even closer. Xu Qingyu tilted her head, letting her fuss over her. The more Song Yixi struggled, the more flustered she became. Fearing she might hurt Xu Qingyu, she held the ear firmly.
Xu Qingyu’s breath hitched.
Startled, Song Yixi immediately let go. “Does it hurt?”
“No.” Xu Qingyu lowered her head slightly. “My ears… are quite sensitive.”
Being touched there gave her a physical reaction. Song Yixi didn’t quite get it. “What does ‘quite sensitive’ mean? Do they itch easily or hurt easily?”
Xu Qingyu was amused by her. “Do you remember when you were little, playing soccer and accidentally injuring your ankle?”
Song Yixi nodded. “I remember.”
It had been a serious injury; her ankle had swollen up like a balloon. When the doctor tried to apply medicine, the moment he touched her ankle, she had bolted upright, refusing to let him near it. The doctor had no choice but to let Song Yixi do it herself, but she complained of the pain and only half-heartedly dabbed some on. It wasn’t until Xu Qingyu arrived that Song Yixi reluctantly allowed herself to be touched.
Xu Qingyu said, “Not liking to be touched is because of sensitivity.”
Song Yixi didn’t quite remember that specific feeling, but she understood roughly what Xu Qingyu meant by sensitivity. “Your ears are sensitive, and you’re still letting me put earplugs in?”
Xu Qingyu arched an eyebrow. “Your ankle was sensitive, yet didn’t you let me apply your medicine?”
Song Yixi thought about it and realized she was right. When it came to someone you trusted, being touched anywhere on your body didn’t feel repulsive.
“Then I’ll be careful. Turn your head.”
“Mhm.”
Xu Qingyu did as she was told, turning her head to expose her ear. Song Yixi took a deep breath and gently pinched Xu Qingyu’s earlobe. She rolled the earplug between her fingers, squeezed it tight, and carefully inserted it.
Xu Qingyu clenched her fist uncomfortably, her breathing deepening as she endured it. Sensing this, Song Yixi finished the first ear and hurriedly pulled her hand away. “Maybe you should do the other one yourself?”
Xu Qingyu didn’t speak. She simply turned her head, exposing the other ear. Song Yixi had to continue.
With the experience from the first side, she was much faster this time. However, when she let go, Xu Qingyu’s earlobe was still bright red. Song Yixi swallowed hard.
“Does your ear… feel bad?”
“Mhm. It’s uncomfortable.” Xu Qingyu turned to look at her.
Song Yixi reached out. “I’ll take them out for you then.”
“It’s not that kind of discomfort.” Xu Qingyu’s voice trembled slightly. “Song Yixi.” She sounded like she was calling for help. “Hold me.”
Song Yixi’s brow furrowed in concern. She didn’t have time to overthink, but she didn’t quite dare to just grab her, so she leaned in tentatively. It wasn’t until her fingers touched Xu Qingyu’s waist that she grew bold enough to wrap her arms around her.
Xu Qingyu took the opportunity to lean against her shoulder. Inside the cramped car, the two of them held each other tightly. Smelling the herbal scent on Xu Qingyu, Song Yixi felt the atmosphere grow incredibly ambiguous.
This was the first time she and Xu Qingyu had shared a moment like this. Even those few kisses didn’t compare to now. As she thought about it, she couldn’t help but hold her tighter.
Unable to stop herself, she whispered a sentence into Xu Qingyu’s ear.
Because of the earplugs, Xu Qingyu only felt the gentle warmth of Song Yixi’s breath. She didn’t hear what was said. And right now, she didn’t want to ask.
Pulling back slightly, she cupped Song Yixi’s face and kissed her passionately.
Song Yixi froze. Xu Qingyu slowly wrapped her arms around Song Yixi’s neck, fervently waiting for a response. Soon, Song Yixi kissed her back.
And not just a simple kiss.
Song Yixi moved across the driver’s seat, kneeling with one knee beside Xu Qingyu’s legs. Xu Qingyu was pulled into her embrace, forced to tilt her head back. Their breathing grew heavier and deeper.
Song Yixi’s kisses moved down to Xu Qingyu’s neck. In the dim alley, unable to see clearly and with her hearing muffled, Xu Qingyu could only perceive Song Yixi through the burning breath falling against her skin—and the hands that slipped beneath the hem of her shirt.
But it only lasted a few seconds.
Song Yixi stopped, resting her head on Xu Qingyu’s shoulder as she spoke. Xu Qingyu caught a few fragmented words, but couldn’t string them together into a sentence. She didn’t speak, silently regulating her breathing.
After holding each other for a while to calm down, Song Yixi got out of the car, went around to the passenger side, and reached out her hand. “Come on, let’s go play.”
This she said loudly, and Xu Qingyu heard it. She placed her hand in Song Yixi’s and followed her out. Song Yixi beamed at her.
The place she had brought Xu Qingyu to was an arcade tucked away in the alley. She used to sneak here to play as a kid and had wanted to bring Xu Qingyu, but Xu Qingyu had never wanted to leave the house. She had invited her several times without success. Xu Qingyu had never been to such a noisy place before.
Both of their regrets could be fulfilled this time.
Song Yixi asked her, “How is it? Do you like it?”
Xu Qingyu didn’t hear clearly. “What?”
The arcade was too loud. Even with Song Yixi shouting, the earplugs made it impossible. Song Yixi simply messaged her: I asked if you like it?
Xu Qingyu smiled and nodded. She didn’t have any particular fondness for arcades, but as a child, she had seen Song Yixi secretly hunting for coins at home just to come here. She had always wanted to see the place that Song Yixi loved so much. Finally, she had the chance.
She typed back: Where do you usually start? Take me through it.
“Sure!” Song Yixi mouthed the words and led her to the arcade cabinets she used to play. She had Xu Qingyu sit down while she ran to exchange a basket of game tokens.
“Put them in here, then you can choose a game.” Song Yixi recommended her childhood favorites: King of Fighters, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Contra, and so on.
Xu Qingyu tested the buttons. “Anything is fine.”
“King of Fighters it is, then.”
Song Yixi selected the game and began teaching Xu Qingyu how to pick characters. Since Xu Qingyu knew nothing about it, Song Yixi had to guide her hand-in-hand.
The moment she gripped Xu Qingyu’s wrist, Song Yixi remembered what she had said to her in the car.
The first sentence was: “I want to kiss you.”
Xu Qingyu hadn’t heard it, yet she had kissed her anyway.
The second sentence was: “Xu Qingyu, I think I might actually like you.”
