- The Possessive Villain Is Too Clingy [Quick Transmigration]
- Chapter 52 - Cultivator X Siren
The spring sun shone brightly, and a gentle breeze rustled the willow branches.
The streets of Lin’an City bustled with carriages and horses, while the Phoenix Song Tavern was packed to the brim with patrons.
Ye Zhixia sat alone in the hall, her face clouded with worry.
This time, she had arrived in the world of immortal heroes with the half-restored White Stone, now a junior disciple of the Qiyan Sect.
The Qiyan Sect was a renowned all-female sect on the continent, where every disciple was a prodigious cultivator with profound spiritual power—except for the original owner of this body.
The original owner was a mere cannon-fodder character in the plot, barely mentioned.
However, after adapting to the body, Ye Zhixia realized she couldn’t access the original owner’s memories. Worse still, when she tried to channel spiritual energy, she discovered that the original owner had none.
No spiritual energy—how could she even begin to cultivate immortality?
“Hey! Isn’t that the useless junior sister from the Qiyan Sect?”
A group of men in light-blue cultivation robes at the next table pointed and whispered about Ye Zhixia.
“It really is her! How dare she come down the mountain alone and wander around Lin’an City?”
“Every time our sects compete, we lose to those women from the Qiyan Sect. But today, she’s all by herself…”
The men exchanged smirks, hatching malicious plans.
Xiao Mi perched on the edge of the table, eyeing the men before whispering to Ye Zhixia, [Xiaxia, those scoundrels seem like they want to pick a fight with you.]
A moderately tall, slightly plump man was the first to stand and approach Ye Zhixia. “Isn’t this the Qiyan Sect’s uniform? But I don’t sense any spiritual energy. Are you impersonating a Qiyan disciple?”
“Today, I’ll teach you a lesson on behalf of the Qiyan Sect, you fraud!”
With that, he reached out to grab Ye Zhixia’s clothes.
Ye Zhixia yawned, then stood up abruptly, towering half a head over the man.
She slapped the pudgy-faced man hard, and with a cry of “Agh!”, the onlookers only saw a blur of light blue fly out the window.
“Third Senior Brother!” The remaining men at the table shouted as they rushed out of the tavern through the main entrance.
The tavern owner craned his neck to watch the commotion near the window, then subtly gestured to a nearby waiter.
“Go keep an eye on them from a distance,” he muttered to the waiter. “Those Xuantian Sect disciples haven’t paid yet.”
Ye Zhixia leisurely placed her payment on the table, picked up her treasured sword, and followed them outside.
She had no intention of letting these petty men off the hook, but someone still had the audacity to step forward and block her path.
“Stop right there! You think you can just walk away after attacking our Third Senior Brother?” A taller, leaner Xuantian Sect disciple stood in front of her.
A light breeze lifted the loose strands of hair at Ye Zhixia’s temples. She glanced sideways at the man and scoffed.
With a casual push, she sent him stumbling backward before he collapsed to the ground.
Instead of leaving, she walked over to the Xuantian Sect’s Third Senior Brother.
“Had enough lying around? Get up!” she taunted.
Supported by his fellow disciples, the Third Senior Brother staggered to his feet and spat out a mouthful of blood. “I was careless earlier, letting you get the jump on me.”
He then assumed an offensive stance.
Ye Zhixia simply stood there, waiting for him to charge—before kicking him straight into the wall.
“Didn’t even need my sword,” she muttered disdainfully, shaking her head. Then she turned away. “I’m out.”
Inside the tavern, a refined female storyteller smiled at the surrounding crowd and said, “Ye Zhixia, the youngest junior sister of the Qiyuan Sect, may not possess spiritual power, but she has always been diligent and hardworking, mastering all the martial techniques of the sect.”
Then, with a serious tone, she praised, “Don’t be fooled by her politeness toward us. When faced with bullying cultivators, she doesn’t hold back at all.”
A curious guest asked, “Can those of us without spiritual roots also learn martial techniques?”
The storyteller stroked her chin thoughtfully before replying leisurely, “From the information I’ve gathered, every sect accepts some outer disciples without spiritual roots. But very few can stand out purely through martial techniques. As for surpassing even the inner disciples of other sects, Junior Sister Ye Zhixia is the first.”
The crowd in the tavern gasped in amazement.
A waiter hurried in and handed the collected payment for drinks to the innkeeper.
–
Ye Zhixia strolled around Lin’an City with Xiao Mi until evening.
Upon returning to the Qiyuan Sect, she was predictably summoned by Sect Leader Yun Tai Zhenren to the Reflection Platform.
Ye Zhixia guessed that the Xuantian Sect must have sent someone to complain.
Yun Tai Zhenren stood at the center of the Reflection Platform, hands clasped behind his back. Dressed in white robes, his immortal aura was palpable, his waist-length hair fluttering in the wind like a celestial being descended to the mortal realm.
Ye Zhixia obeyed the summons and went to pay her respects.
[Useless cowards, can’t even fight properly and resort to tattling like three-year-olds.] Xiao Mi hovered beside Ye Zhixia, grumbling.
Yun Tai Zhenren seemed to hear Xiao Mi’s complaints and immediately turned his head, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Ye Zhixia.
“Greetings, Sect Leader,” Ye Zhixia saluted according to the customs of the cultivation world.
Their eyes met, and Yun Tai Zhenren strode forward eagerly, his gaze filled with joy. “I’ve been waiting here for you for fifty years!”
Ye Zhixia tilted her head slightly, puzzled. “Huh?”
Xiao Mi covered her mouth in shock—”you”? How could someone see her again?
Yun Tai Zhenren stepped closer, looking at Ye Zhixia with certainty. “General Ye, it’s been a long time.”
Ye Zhixia suddenly understood.
In the previous world, when she and Empress Ninghua met Princess Jiarong again, only the original soul remained in the princess’s body.
And that “Xia Xia” had never appeared before them.
According to the princess at the time, Xia Xia could sense that she wasn’t the original Princess Jiarong and thus bid her farewell, wandering the mountains and rivers.
Calculating the time, it had been roughly fifty years since Princess Jiarong left that world.
With time to spare, Yun Tai Zhenren recounted her identity and experiences to Ye Zhixia.
Yun Tai Zhenren was also a fast-transmigration task executor, belonging to the Supporting Character True Love Department. Her tasks were simpler than Ye Zhixia’s—she only needed to make her target fall completely in love with her.
In the first world she shared with Ye Zhixia, she was Chu Ning’s mother. In the previous world, she was Princess Jiarong.
Li Xia and Xia Xia were her two mission targets.
The first world was a modern one, convenient and leisurely, so after completing her task, she lingered for ten years in her soul form. That was why Ye Zhixia encountered her in front of the tombstone.
She had also grown very fond of Chu Ning as a child.
Thus, in the second world, she made many considerations for the original host’s adopted daughter.
What she hadn’t expected was that Ye Zhixia, using her real name and accompanied by that chubby cat, had also arrived in the second world to carry out her mission.
After some analysis, she concluded that Ninghua was indeed Chu Ning and was certain their missions must be interconnected.
After recounting her previous experiences, Yun Tai Zhen Ren said regretfully, “But my mission isn’t directly related to Ningning, so I can’t sense where she is.”
Ye Zhixia immediately shared the plot details she knew.
“My current mission target is a sea demon captured by the senior brother of the Xuantian Sect—that must be Ningning.”
She then explained her recent actions: “I’ve been wandering around Lin’an City to provoke the Xuantian Sect, just to create an excuse to confront them and find a way to rescue Ningning.”
Upon hearing this, Yun Tai Zhen Ren’s eyebrows twisted into knots.
“That Xuantian Sect’s head disciple, Xuan Qing, has been harming many demons under the guise of exterminating evil. The only way I could protect them was by confining them within a barrier under the same pretense.”
Her voice was laced with anger: “Xuan Qing is ruthless, and since he operates under the banner of slaying demons, I can’t openly punish him! If Ningning has fallen into his hands, she must be suffering. You must save her quickly!”
Ye Zhixia nodded firmly. “I plan to scout the Xuantian Sect tonight to assess the situation.”
Yun Tai Zhen Ren suddenly seemed to remember something and hurriedly pulled Ye Zhixia into her room.
After rummaging through her belongings, she retrieved several handy treasures.
“This is the Golden Silk Soft Armor, the Flowing Cloud Ring, the Cloud Piercer Sword, and the Heavenly Diligence Heart Mirror.” Yun Tai Zhen Ren handed them to Ye Zhixia one by one. “This body originally had an incomplete soul. I fed her many elixirs, but she could never gather spiritual energy.”
“Now that you’re here, the soul must be whole. Let me try transferring some of my cultivation to you.”
She had Ye Zhixia turn her back and attempted to channel some of her spiritual power directly into her.
But moments later, seeing the energy dissipate from Ye Zhixia’s body, she stopped abruptly.
“You—this!” Yun Tai Zhen Ren was exasperated. “Even direct cultivation transfer doesn’t work! You’re truly impervious!”
Ye Zhixia was equally helpless. She smiled wryly to comfort her. “I’ve never encountered this before. In past missions to cultivation worlds, I could always cultivate easily. I don’t know what’s going on…”
Yun Tai Zhen Ren sighed and urged her to equip the defensive treasures before setting off for the Xuantian Sect immediately.
Just as Ye Zhixia finished dressing, a disciple’s frantic voice came from outside:
“N-n-n-no, no…”
Ye Zhixia asked in confusion, “Do we have a stuttering senior sister in our sect?”
Yun Tai Zhen Ren shot her a glare. “Don’t mock your senior sister’s flaw.”
The disciple entered the room, stammering, “B-b-bad news! The d-d-demons… have b-broken… the barrier!”
Yun Tai Zhen Ren patted the disciple’s shoulder gently. “Alright, Bi Luo, gather everyone to repair the barrier. I’ll go find the escaped demons.”
Bi Luo hurriedly replied, “Y-y-yes, Master.”
Ye Zhixia felt a pang of guilt—she had only been joking earlier, not realizing Senior Sister Bi Luo truly had a stutter.
As she hesitated between heading straight to the Xuantian Sect to rescue Ningning or helping Yun Tai Zhen Ren retrieve the demons first, the white stone on her chest suddenly emitted a blinding light.
At that moment, the Cloud Terrace Sage was preparing to set out when she noticed the sudden glow emanating from the white stone.
“What’s this?” she wondered aloud.
Ye Zhixia gently stroked the white stone with her right hand, studying it for a moment before looking up thoughtfully. “It’s Ningning’s indicator! Ningning is at the Qiyuan Sect!”
With that, she grew even more anxious than the Cloud Terrace Sage. “Quick! She must be among those fleeing demons!”
Hearing this, the Cloud Terrace Sage grabbed Ye Zhixia, summoned a cloud, and chased after them toward the mountainside.
–
As the sect leader of Qiyuan, the Cloud Terrace Sage’s cultivation was truly extraordinary. In no time at all, she had herded the escaped demons back into the barrier.
Inside the barrier, a serene and picturesque scene unfolded—crystal-clear streams, lush greenery, and vibrant blossoms in full bloom.
A pitiful and helpless group of little demons huddled together. There were beast spirits transformed from rabbits and deer, flower spirits born from daisies and peonies, and even odd little spirits that had once been brooms or stools.
Once her disciples had worked together to repair the barrier, she turned to the demons and admonished them with earnest concern. “What were you thinking? What did you hope to gain?”
“Before, when you were still untransformed in the wild, humans hunted you. After finally achieving human form, the Xuantian Sect pursued you. I’ve kept you here under my protection, yet you still try to escape? Are you dissatisfied with this environment?”
The demons trembled in fear, too afraid to speak.
A small, fluffy white rabbit spirit mustered its courage and whispered timidly, “Aren’t you just fattening us up to eat us later?”
The Cloud Terrace Sage gnashed her teeth. “Who’s spreading such vile slander about me? I’ve already reached the Unity Stage and have been fasting for over five hundred years. Why would I need to eat little creatures like you—fish, cats, or mice?”
The rabbit’s voice was as faint as a mosquito’s hum. “A toad spirit came by the barrier the other day. He said you were going to eat us soon and even taught us how to break the barrier.”
Just as the Cloud Terrace Sage was about to press for details, Ye Zhixia suddenly exclaimed, “No! Ningning isn’t among them!”
She turned and immediately sprinted down the mountain.
Seeing her running on foot, the Cloud Terrace Sage quickly summoned her Glazed Rainbow Cloud. “Go! From now on, you’ll follow your junior sister!”
The cloud zipped under Ye Zhixia’s feet in a flash, carrying her swiftly down the mountainside.
