- Chapter 2 - Where Did This Chuunibyou Boy Come From?
Liang Ling had been tormented by his heat for a long time. Suddenly receiving the soothing effect of an alpha pheromone, his waist went limp, and unable to restrain himself, he hugged the man tightly, burying his face deeply into the man’s chest, craving to get more pheromones.
The man was stunned for a moment, then immediately reached out to push him away. How could Liang Ling, who was extremely weak, withstand such a push? Staggering a few steps, he still failed to steady his footing and fell straight to the ground.
“Hey!” The man also hadn’t expected that a grown man like him could be so fragile, but thinking of Liang Ling’s rude behavior toward him just moments ago, his expression darkened slightly. Unwilling to have much more contact with him, he looked down condescendingly at the man groaning in pain on the ground and asked in a cold voice, “What is wrong with you?”
Liang Ling forced his eyelids open, suddenly bumping into a man with deep, ink-like eyes, distinct facial features, and a handsome appearance. Dressed in a crisp suit with the stray hairs on his forehead neatly groomed, the man stood under the moonlight, lowering his eyelashes to stare at him, looking like elegant and meticulous white porcelain.
“I, my heat has come, it is unbearable. You, I beg you, help me.”
The man looked in surprise as his two thin lips parted and closed, yet the words he spoke were wildly audacious. A wave of mockery welled up in his heart, and he sneered, “Does your line of work nowadays use this method to solicit clients?”
Liang Ling could no longer hear clearly what he had said. Stirred by the man’s pheromones, his heat made him feel as though he was burning in a fierce fire. The back of his head seemed to have swollen from the fall, and the pain mixed with bouts of dizziness, triggering a flash of white light before his eyes. Before he had time to explain further, he lost all his strength and passed out.
“You!” Seeing that he gradually stopped moving, the man panicked a little. He squatted down to check his breathing; fortunately, there was still a faint warmth wafting against his fingers, causing him to heave a sigh of relief.
The man sighed helplessly, feeling that he was really unlucky tonight. How could he come out by appointment to drink tea with a friend and still encounter such a strange thing?
Looking at the teahouse right before his eyes, the man hesitated for a few moments, but still picked up his phone and made a call. After two rings, a cheerful male voice came from the other end: “Hello, Wen Ming? You have finally arrived, you are the only one missing. Come up to the second-floor private room. I ordered your favorite West Lake Longjing, top grade, knowing how picky your palate is.”
Wen Ming listened quietly until he finished, then said indifferently, “Forget it, I am not going. There are still matters at the company, I need to go handle them.”
The man immediately threw a fit, raising his volume: “Hey! Do not leave! Wen Ming, I am telling you, I originally did not want to meddle in the affairs between you and Ye Wanqing, your dad is the one who insisted I help persuade you. Besides,” the man paused, then sighed, “the two of you made such an ugly scene three years ago, and now that there is finally a chance to clear the air and she has already agreed, why are you still holding onto such petty grudges?”
The moment Wen Ming heard that name mentioned, his heart sank a little further, and he said indifferently, “He Fanjun, I told you long ago, there is nothing left for me to say to him. Back then, we got together entirely because of family interests, and as you saw, a relationship forced together ultimately does not last. What is the point of stubbornly scraping together the effort to persist?”
“Hey!” He Fanjun wanted to say something more, but Wen Ming quickly hung up the phone. Standing in place, he took deep breaths for a long time before finally pressing down the lingering ache in his heart.
After regaining his composure, Wen Ming squatted back down to deal with the unconscious Liang Ling on the ground. Stretching out his slender two fingers, he rummaged around in Liang Ling’s pockets for a moment, and sure enough, he fished out an ID card, reading it out loud lightly: “Liang Ling, born in year xx, month xx, outstanding graduate of ABO University, Gender: Omega.”
Wen Ming said, “A forger of fake IDs?”
He was just thinking about calling the police to take the person away, when unexpectedly, before he could even raise his phone, Liang Ling on the ground suddenly let out a soft “Mm”, his scalding body pressing closer. A faint scent of peach juice sparkling water lingered around the tip of Wen Ming’s nose, wrapping around him tightly like an airtight net, causing Wen Ming’s heartbeat to skip a beat almost instantly.
“Hold me tightly, I beg you.” Liang Ling’s fair little face was flushed with a layer of crimson clouds. Underneath his slim waist was only a thin layer of shirt, his pink skin partially visible in the high heat, enticing without him even realizing it as he breathed like orchid fragrance right by Wen Ming’s ear.
Wen Ming examined him closely, chuckled softly, and thought that although this person was a bit audacious, his looks were indeed very much to his own taste.
Raising his eyes to look at the bustling and warm nighttime teahouse, Wen Ming hesitated for a long time before finally picking up Liang Ling, who was clueless and only knew how to keep rubbing against his neck, bridal style, carrying him in his arms, and walking quickly toward the Maybach parked at the entrance.
Seeing that he had returned without even going upstairs and was carrying a strange man besides, the driver could not help being astonished: “Young Master, you?”
Wen Ming waved his hand to interrupt him and said indifferently, “Just tell the old master that I have already seen Ye Wanqing. Let us go home.”
The driver nodded, started the car, and drove toward the downtown area.
As his frozen body gradually warmed up, Liang Ling finally gained some strength to open his eyes, only to immediately see the man holding him in his arms. He seemed to even be wrapped in the man’s woolen overcoat, and that faint Longjing fragrance filled his nasal cavity, burning his rationality away with a loud bang.
“Mm, stay away from me.” Liang Ling flusteredly pushed the man away, hugging himself as he curled up in the corner, staring at him vigilantly.
Wen Ming was slightly startled. Finding it both exasperating and amusing, he crossed his legs and said playfully, “Clearly you were the one who drilled into my arms just now, what is this act for now?”
Liang Ling was stunned, his fair little face immediately covered with a layer of blush, and he stammered, “That, that is because my heat arrived, Omegas in heat will naturally react to an alpha’s pheromones.”
Wen Ming sneered, raising his eyebrows with a hint of disdain. “Heat? You certainly know how to make up terms. So impatient, it shows you probably do not do this sort of thing rarely in ordinary times.”
Falsely accused for no reason, Liang Ling shook his head eagerly, defending himself: “No, I have Pheromone Deficiency Disorder. This is my first heat in twenty-two years.”
“What?” Wen Ming doubted if he had heard correctly, and asked with some confusion, “Pheromone Deficiency Disorder?”
Unable to find relief from his heat, Liang Ling curled up miserably into a ball and could not even be bothered to explain to him anymore. He kept trembling in the back seat, his upper and lower teeth clattering together.
Wen Ming frowned and reached out to support him. “Why are you trembling so severely? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?”
“No need, do not come over.” Liang Ling gasped for air like a dying fish, watching Wen Ming gradually approach him. As the crisp Longjing fragrance washed over him, he could no longer suppress the urge in his heart. Reaching out, he yanked Wen Ming’s tie downward and, amidst the man’s extremely astonished gaze, kissed those two thin lips.
Their scalding skin pressed together, and Wen Ming’s mind went completely blank.
“What are you doing?!” Wen Ming abruptly pushed him away, touching his lips in disbelief. The lingering warmth remained, leaving a numb sensation.
Liang Ling fell back onto the seat. Knowing he had lost composure, he whimpered softly in apology: “I am sorry, your pheromone smells too good, I could not resist.”
Just as Wen Ming was about to fly into a rage, Liang Ling rolled his eyes and, with a thud, passed out in his arms once more.
“Hey!” Even though Wen Ming was boiling with anger, he was not petty enough to pick a fight with a sick person, so he could only pull a dark face and tell the driver, “Drive faster.”
The car quickly drove back into the city, turning into a luxurious and tranquil riverside residential complex. Ignoring the astonished glances from the driver and the household helper, he carried Liang Ling into the elevator.
Underfloor heating was turned on inside the house, causing the temperature to rise abruptly and feel somewhat stuffy. Since Liang Ling was already running a fever, he felt even more uncomfortable, twisting uncomfortably in Wen Ming’s arms as he hazily opened his eyes.
Sensing his small movements, Wen Ming hugged him tighter, steadily pushed open the bedroom door, and placed him onto the soft, large bed.
“Sit here, I will pour you a glass of water.”
With his two flushed cheeks, Liang Ling dazedly watched the man brew a cup of tea for him and turn on the humidifier in the bedroom. The array of faint fragrances mixed with freshness immediately made him feel much more comfortable.
“Thank you.” Liang Ling sipped the tea brewed by Wen Ming in small sips. At first, it tasted somewhat bitter on the palate, but slowly a hint of aftertaste blossomed. The elegant fragrance lingered around the tip of his nose, completely washing away the exhaustion of his entire body.
“Does it taste good? Ten-year-old Bingdao ancient tree tea. You caught a chill, so it is best for warming the body,” Wen Ming said lazily, leaning back in the chair after a tiring night.
It sounded very expensive, Liang Ling thought silently while holding that exquisitely carved purple clay teahouse cup. It was a pity he did not understand tea; usually, his favorite drinks were all kinds of carbonated beverages. Even if he wanted to praise it right now, he could only say a dry “It is good.”
Wen Ming looked at his eyelashes still hanging with teardrops, the little red tip of his nose, his slightly trembling thin lips, and his delicate eyebrows knitted tightly together, altogether portraying a pitiful and endearing appearance. Even if he still held anger in his heart, he suddenly could not vent it out anymore.
“How did you end up passing out on the side of the road? Where is your family?” Wen Ming asked, propping his chin up.
Liang Ling was stunned, and shook his head with grievance, “I do not know either, it is my first time coming here.”
Turns out he was lost. Wen Ming nodded, a sudden wave of sympathy welling up in his heart. “Then do you remember your home address? Or your parents’ phone numbers?”
Liang Ling nodded, “Imperial Lingyue Bay, phone number XXXX.”
“Lingyue Bay?” Wen Ming opened his phone map and searched for a long time, but after switching through several apps, all of them indicated that the place did not exist. With a strange expression, he asked again, “Are you sure it is Lingyue Bay? Is the spelling correct?”
Liang Ling leaned over to take a look, and said with absolute certainty, “Yes, that is it.”
Wen Ming irritably rubbed the bridge of his nose, “Forget it, then make a call.”
Unfortunately, after dialing several numbers in a row, even adding the area code, they all indicated that the dialed number was disconnected. Wen Ming glanced sideways at Liang Ling, who was crouching right in front of him. The latter scratched his head sheepishly and pleaded, “Try, try again, okay?”
Wen Ming sighed helplessly, feeling his head hurt even more. “Do not try anymore, it is useless even if you try. Is your home even in City A to begin with?”
Liang Ling looked at him with grievance, “No, my home is at the Imperial Lingyue Bay Central Building.”
Wen Ming stood speechless.
Where on earth did this chuunibyou boy come from? He must be playing too many video games.
“Whatever.” Wen Ming did not want to get too entangled with him either, and stood up to leave.
“Where are you going?” The moment he left, that Longjing fragrance immediately faded a great deal. Liang Ling, whose entry into the heat made him extremely reliant on pheromones, anxiously grabbed the hem of his clothing, pleading with him pitifully: “Do not go, I have entered my heat, I really need an alpha’s pheromone right now.”
