The Only Ultimate Alpha in the Universe - Chapter 19.3
Wenxi turned around in a rage, only to see a tall, handsome man leaning lazily against the doorframe, one hand in his pocket. Wearing a pearl-white luxury suit, the man looked down at him with eyes like a hunting cat. The dim lighting cast a long shadow over Wenxi, enveloping him completely.
Wenxi stared at the face and broke into a cold sweat. “You… you are Mr. Xiao Sa?”
“You recognize me?” Xiao Sa swirled the glass of lime juice. “Then do you recognize this?”
Wenxi’s fingers trembled, but he forced himself to stay calm. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Please move; I want to leave.”
He didn’t even know what he was afraid of. He was a double-A grade, while the person before him was just a C-grade “disabled” person!
Xiao Sa shook his head. “Some people remain stiff-necked even when the evidence is right in front of them.”
He didn’t waste words. With lightning speed, he grabbed Wenxi’s jaw and forced his mouth open.
“What are you doing?!” Wenxi shrieked, struggling wildly, but his strength was negligible compared to Xiao Sa’s. Before the Alpha, he was as frail as an infant.
Expressionless, Xiao Sa forced the mouth open and poured the entire glass of lime juice down Wenxi’s throat. “Didn’t your father teach you that bad children who do bad things must be punished?”
“Mmmph—no—” Wenxi choked until tears came. Suddenly, a blue-purple man-eating flower mental entity erupted from beneath his feet, its vines instantly coiling around Xiao Sa’s limbs.
“You—you actually dare to attack me!” Wenxi gasped, his face flushing. “You asked for this!”
Xiao Sa didn’t feel threatened at all. He looked up at the snarling, ferocious flower and finally showed a look of excitement. “Finally, you’re out!”
Wenxi finally realized something was wrong. His vines had clearly bound the opponent, but no matter how much he constricted them, Xiao Sa remained unshaken. Even the hand holding Wenxi’s jaw was as steady as a mountain.
Xiao Sa’s arms slowly exerted force, prying the vines apart bit by bit. A thick, aggressive pheromone guarded him like a loyal knight, surging wildly toward the man-eating flower.
The flower’s head wobbled as if struck by a sledgehammer. Xiao Sa let go of Wenxi’s jaw and grabbed the flower’s stem.
“What does this toxin do?”
Wenxi stared with wide eyes, his mouth agape. After a long pause, he stuttered, “Numbness, dizziness, fainting. It isn’t lethal.”
His original plan had been to strip Xiao Sa naked and leave him with a random servant to ruin his reputation.
Xiao Sa grinned. “This is good stuff.”
He picked up the empty glass and shoved it into Wenxi’s trembling hands. “Here, hold this.”
Under Wenxi’s dumbfounded gaze, Xiao Sa grabbed the flower stem with both hands and held it upside down, squeezing the toxin into the glass like he was milking a cow. “Come on, give me more.”
Wenxi was stunned. Was he crazy, or was the world crazy? Was this guy really a C-grade mental invalid?
After a moment, Wenxi burst into tears. “I can’t… there truly isn’t a single drop left!”
“Tsk, how useless of you.” Xiao Sa shook his head in disappointment, his eyes full of disdain. “How can a man say he ‘can’t’?”
Wenxi nearly coughed up blood. Xiao Sa found a mini-air freshener bottle in the supply cabinet, cleaned it, poured the toxin in, and tucked it unceremoniously into his pocket. He then walked over to the dazed Wenxi, knelt down, and patted his shoulder. “Mr. Wenxi, see? You wouldn’t want anyone to know you tried to poison me, right?”
Wenxi: “…” This guy is a devil! An absolute devil!
As the two left the restroom one after another, the Third Prince—who had long noticed Wenxi’s suspicious behavior—stood silently in the shadows of the corridor. He watched Xiao Sa’s receding back and let out an interested smile. “A person with 100% compatibility with Landis is indeed not simple.”
Back in the reception room, half an hour earlier.
The healer Kate and Landis both had their eyes closed. Kate’s forehead was dripping with sweat. In his “vision,” he was trekking through a vast desert under an endless night, with quicksand beneath his feet ready to swallow him at any moment.
He had lost his way in Landis’s mental sea. Unlike most polluted individuals where the source is easily found, Landis’s mind was a void. Just as his own mental power was about to run out, he sensed something and looked up.
In the pitch-black sky, a pair of dark gold vertical pupils opened!
Heavens, is this entire desert actually the pollution itself? But how could that be? Landis showed no signs of physical mutation. Kate’s arrogance vanished; he only wanted to escape.
Suddenly, countless skeletons reached out from the sand to drag him down. The black sky contracted into a twisted shape, opening a maw of jagged teeth.
“No!”
Just as Kate fled in terror, silver-white chains streaked across the desert—the personification of Landis’s logic and willpower. They bound the gold-eyed monster tightly. No matter how much it roared, it couldn’t move, eventually dispersing unwillingly.
Consciousness returned. Kate slumped onto the sofa, pale and drenched in sweat. He looked at Landis with a mix of horror and admiration, finally shaking his head with a bitter smile. “My apologies, Admiral. Your condition exceeds my understanding. I cannot treat you. I spoke too boldly earlier.”
Though expected, the others were still disappointed. Landis, however, showed no surprise. He stood up, adjusted his collar, and checked the time. “The ceremony is about to begin. Let’s go.”
“Wait, Admiral,” Kate hesitated but felt compelled to warn him. “Your condition is severe. Even with a 100% match, if the spouse’s grade is too low, it will be difficult to clear your pollution.”
Landis paused and tilted his head slightly. “I know.”
In the main hall, guests were seated. A priest waited at the front, flower girls scattered petals, and the orchestra began the wedding march. Landis stood on the stage, back ramrod straight in his black military dress. His medals glittered in the light.
Carlo had gone to find Xiao Sa, but he hadn’t returned yet. Landis stared at the stairs from the fitting rooms, Kate’s words echoing in his mind. If this was too dangerous for Xiao Sa, was it selfish of him to demand this marriage? Was Xiao Sa regretting it? Was that why he hadn’t appeared?
Will he come?
As the delay stretched on, the guests began to whisper. The officiant looked awkward. “Admiral, should we delay the ceremony?”
Before Landis could speak, the doors were pushed open. A youth in a pure white suit strode in. His short dark hair swayed with his steps, and the tailored suit emphasized his lithe, powerful frame. As he walked, the platinum light of the chandeliers caught the diamonds on his collar.
The youth was strikingly handsome, looking youthful yet not frivolous. Beneath a deep brow, his amber eyes were full of life. He carried a bouquet of roses and gave Landis a composed nod. He arrived under the gaze of everyone, walking straight into Landis’s ice-blue eyes and slowly lighting up his vision.
“Sorry, it took a while to pick the bouquet. I kept you waiting,” Xiao Sa said apologetically.
Landis glanced at the officiant and said neutrally, “No, the ceremony started a few minutes early.”
Officiant: “…Ah, right, right.”
“Let us begin.”
The priest cleared his throat and began the prayer. After the lengthy traditional marriage vows, he looked at Landis. “Mr. Landis, are you willing to take this vow and enter into marriage with Mr. Xiao Sa?”
Landis turned to Xiao Sa and nodded solemnly. “I do.”
The priest asked Xiao Sa the same. As the youth was about to answer, Landis interrupted in a low voice. “Wait.”
Xiao Sa: “?”
“Just now,” Landis gazed at him seriously, “another A-grade healer failed to treat me. Have you really considered this? You still have a chance to back out.”
Xiao Sa was stunned, then let out a laugh. So, this guy was worried about him. He grinned and said without hesitation, “Don’t worry. I do.”
Landis stared deeply at him; he would remember this day forever.
“Then,” the priest smiled, “please exchange rings and kiss.”
A pair of flower girls presented the platinum rings. Landis placed one on Xiao Sa’s finger and leaned in. Xiao Sa leaned in at the same time. Their chests collided, and the warmth of their lips caused the temperature in the air to soar.
Xiao Sa recalled the first time this man had kissed him by force, but this was a completely different feeling. Without realizing it, something wet and smooth slipped inside. Landis didn’t know if Xiao Sa was wearing perfume, but he smelled so good it made him close his eyes and instinctively deepen the kiss, trying to capture more of that intoxicating scent.
An unknown amount of time passed. The guests had clapped through three rounds of applause. The priest’s smile was turning into a grimace. He finally couldn’t take it anymore, he had told them to kiss, not to have a full-blown make-out session!
