The Omega Pretending to Be an Alpha Was Accidentally Marked by His Boss - Chapter 2
Once it was finally over, Qiu Nan collapsed limply into the Alpha’s arms, looking as completely spent as if he had just been fished out of a river.
As his consciousness gradually drifted back, he had only one overwhelming urge: to scream at the top of his lungs. That hurt like absolute hell! But fuck, it felt amazing, too!
Unfortunately, he lacked the strength to make a sound.
He watched through bleary eyes as the Alpha gently brushed aside the sweat-dampened hair clinging to his forehead. Finally, he got a clear look at the face of the man who had marked him.
Objectively speaking, the guy was a total knockout.
His hair was immaculately styled, his features sharp and deeply defined. When his jet-black eyes focused intently on you, it gave you the distinct impression that you were the only person who mattered.
His clothes weren’t bad either—international designer brands that Qiu Nan couldn’t even name, and tailored so perfectly they looked custom-made. It was hard to imagine that someone like this would actually give someone a temporary mark for a measly hundred and fifty yuan.
So, does that mean he’s just a really good Samaritan? Qiu Nan wondered.
Qiu Nan forced himself to sit up straight, instinctively sniffing the lingering pheromones in the air.
His physical instincts told him he was supposed to like it; the emotional afterglow hadn’t entirely faded yet.
However.
“A-choo!”
Qiu Nan’s tears burst forth all over again.
The Alpha frowned, his voice dropping into a low, raspy pitch. “What’s wrong with you?”
Something didn’t seem right. An Omega who had just been marked shouldn’t be reacting like this under normal circumstances.
“It’s nothing, it’s fine.” Qiu Nan blurted out, haphazardly wiping away his tears. “I’m allergic to pine scents. I’ll be fine once it dissipates. Thanks, by the way. My pheromones should be completely masked now, right?”
The Alpha: “?”
The sudden, rigid expression that froze on the man’s face triggered an immediate alarm bell in Qiu Nan’s head. “What?”
After a brief flash of shock, the Alpha recovered his composure, speaking with remarkable candor. “Just now, what I gave you was a permanent mark.”
Qiu Nan went utterly blank.
After a few seconds of pure disbelief, he completely lost his mind. “What the fuck did you do? Have you never been thrown in jail before?”
The Alpha offered a calm, apologetic smile. “My apologies. I have no experience with this.”
“No. Experience?” Qiu Nan raged, his fury boiling over. “Does it look like I want to go register a marriage certificate with you?”
The Alpha scanned him from head to toe, maintaining a veneer of polite decorum. “Well, you and I are indeed quite incompatible. How about this: I’ll cover the expenses, and you can go get it surgically removed.”
Qiu Nan could scarcely believe that such a scumbag existed on this earth!
Setting the money aside, this bastard had just ruined someone’s life, and he actually had the audacity to act like he was the one being inconvenienced?
But Qiu Nan didn’t have the luxury of throwing a proper tantrum. Because a massive amount of allergens had been injected directly into his gland, he began sneezing uncontrollably, and his neck started itching furiously.
He reached up to scratch it, only to feel a patch of hives spreading under his fingers.
His world was crashing down.
Realizing that Qiu Nan’s allergic reaction was far more severe than anticipated, the Alpha wiped the smile from his face. He completely suppressed his pheromones, reigned in his scent, and grabbed Qiu Nan by the arm. “I’m taking you to the hospital.”
“Hospital my ass!” Qiu Nan barked out between sneezes, violently shaking off the man’s grip. His vision was blurring from the tears, but he forced himself to get his bearings. “I still have a mission to complete! Why else do you think I begged a bastard like you to mark me?”
The Alpha: “I’m sorry.”
This time, he genuinely felt remorse. Allergic reactions could be unpredictable, ranging from mild to fatal. Having an allergen introduced directly into the most sensitive gland of the body was practically no different from injecting venom straight into the bloodstream.
He must be in agony right now, the Alpha realized.
Cursing his rotten luck, Qiu Nan decided he would settle the score with this guy later.
At the very least, his goal of keeping his Omega identity a secret from his team had been achieved. In contrast, the allergic reaction would be relatively easy to explain away—there were plenty of pine trees in these woods, after all.
Yet, the Alpha approached him once more. “Don’t force it. A severe allergic reaction can kill you.”
Qiu Nan vigorously clawed at his neck, unable to bear the intolerable itching. “Just give me a minute, it should pass soon.”
He suddenly froze, snapping his gaze toward the Alpha. “You need to get out of here right now. The crowd down below should already be evacuated. There’s a, anyway, it’s dangerous!”
The Alpha’s dark eyes flickered with an unreadable emotion. He stared at Qiu Nan for a few seconds before glancing toward the base of the hill, where two figures dressed in black were sprinting up toward them. “Are those your colleagues?”
Seeing Number Three, Mi Zhu, and Number Seven, Sang Yongyi, approaching in the distance, the tension in Qiu Nan’s face finally eased a bit. He glanced at the Alpha and gave a curt, “Yeah.”
“Then I’ll leave the rest to them!” the Alpha said in an authoritative tone. Without giving Qiu Nan a choice, he scooped him up in a bridal carry and strode deeper into the woods, planning to head down the opposite side of the hill toward the parking lot.
“Holy shit! Let me go! Who the hell do you think you are—a-choo!”
Being carried like a princess was way too humiliating! If his colleagues saw this, how was he supposed to go on living?
Qiu Nan thrashed around, trying to throw himself out of the man’s grip, fully intending to clock him in the jaw. But suddenly, a rich, heavy wave of pine-scented pheromones flooded the air once again, instilling an involuntary urge to submit deep within him.
An Omega who had been permanently marked could only experience this kind of instinctual submission toward their Alpha.
Was this complete stranger actually using his status as a “husband” to coerce him?
Every muscle and bone in Qiu Nan’s body locked up as he fought against the invisible shackles of the bond.
But it was futile.
Under the overwhelming pressure of the Alpha’s dominant pheromones, his Omega instincts overrode his willpower, rendering him completely incapable of fighting back. He was driven nearly mad by the suffocating conflict tearing at his mind.
He could only watch as his Alpha carried him swiftly down the mountain, bundled him into a car, and sped off toward the nearest hospital.
Throughout the entire journey, he remained completely enveloped in that pine scent, practically soaked in it. The tears wouldn’t stop, the sneezing was relentless, and the hives quickly spread across his entire body.
Since it was the weekend, the municipal hospital was packed with patients.
The crowd in the emergency room lobby collectively witnessed the spectacular sight of a tall, refined-looking man carrying a patient through the doors in a classic bridal carry, heading straight for the examination room.
The patient appeared incredibly weak. His short-sleeved T-shirt was drenched in sweat, and his eyes were tightly shut as he curled pitifully into the tall man’s chest. Even with his flushed complexion, his face possessed a striking, delicate charm.
A few onlookers pulled out their phones to record short videos.
Qiu Nan was currently semi-conscious; had he been awake, he would have leaped up on the spot and smashed their phones to pieces.
The Alpha merely cast a cold, indifferent glance toward the spectators, subtly shifting his body to block their line of sight.
“Wow! So manly! His boyfriend energy is off the charts!”
“Look at that possessiveness!”
“I recorded it, I recorded it! Posting this on TikTok right now!”
Amidst the sea of whispers and gossip, the Alpha carried Qiu Nan into the emergency department.
The doctor administered an anti-allergy treatment. Given the unusual nature of the case and fearing that the patient’s gland might experience a severe rejection phase, the doctor recommended keeping him overnight for observation.
At the same time, the look the doctor gave the Alpha spoke volumes, practically screaming: You two certainly play rough!
If it weren’t for the Alpha’s refined appearance and high-end attire, which clearly pegged him as a member of high society, the doctor might have called the police on suspicion of assault.
The Alpha remained perfectly composed under the judgmental glares of the medical staff. He casually took a phone call, made another one, and then stood patiently by the bedside to help the newly shifted nurse complete the patient’s intake form.
Name, gender, age, address, place of employment.
He meticulously filled out every single blank space on the registration form before handing it back to the young nurse.
The nurse took the clipboard to check his work. Her eyes stopped abruptly on the gender column, and she asked in a lowered voice, “Wait, this isn’t right. Our chief clearly said he’s an Omega?”
“File it under that for now. I will explain the situation to your chief later,” the Alpha said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
“Oh, alright.” The young nurse stole a glance at the handsome, aloof man, her face flushing even deeper. “We also need an emergency contact number. Should I put yours down?”
The Alpha stared at her for a few seconds before tilting his gaze toward the sleeping, IV-draped Qiu Nan. “Put his own.”
Her little scheme to get his number thoroughly thwarted, the nurse pouted slightly. She jotted down the digits he recited onto the registration page. “Well, call me if you need anything, or just press the call button. I’m on the overnight shift tonight.”
After thanking the nurse, Xie Yunnian quietly looked at Qiu Nan on the bed, his lips suddenly curving into a sharp smirk.
A photographic memory was a natural-born buff he possessed. Before arriving here, he had specifically reviewed the personnel files for the Nandong sector; every single line of text and profile photo was printed in his mind like digital data.
Naturally, he also vividly remembered how he had become the hottest topic of conversation the moment he joined this organization.
He, Xie Yunnian, had dropped out of nowhere a year ago straight into the executive decision-making tier of the Capital’s Monster Control Headquarters.
His sudden arrival had been massive news across the entire Bureau. Most people assumed this wealthy second-generation heir was merely using the Bureau as a stepping stone—someone who would leave the moment he soaked up enough clout.
There was plenty of envy, but just as much pushback.
His subordinates had even covertly launched a satirical “ritual.” Whenever Director Xie accompanied them on field duty, they were instructed to secretly pull out a cigarette after the mission, bow to him, and chant, “Oh, Great Daddy, bless our next mission with absolute success!”
Supposedly, the mastermind behind this ridiculous ritual was a Nandong sector Captain named Qiu Nan.
Over the past year, Xie Yunnian had been called “Daddy” behind his back more times than he could count. He had simply feigned ignorance while keeping a meticulous mental tally, placing the blame for every single offense squarely on the head of the instigator.
When he heard that the Director of the Nandong City Bureau was retiring recently, he had immediately requested a transfer out of Headquarters to fill the vacancy at the grassroots level. His official first day was tomorrow.
Who would have thought that on his very second day back in Nandong City—while merely accompanying his grandfather on a weekend outing—he would stumble right into an emergency? He had originally gone over to lend a hand, only to cross paths with Qiu Nan right off the bat.
More importantly, he discovered that Qiu Nan was actually—an—Omega!
How could an Omega deal with monsters day in and day out? Did he have no fear of causing irreversible damage to his gland? He was completely reckless!
Not that he was using his public office to settle a personal score, of course. But as the saying went, a new official must light three fires to assert his authority. Xie Yunnian’s very first fire would be weeding out this Omega who had dared to deceive the organization by masquerading as an Alpha!
