The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Next Time, Together
“Serving in bed?!”
Su Lili’s pupils shook slightly. She had never considered this issue before. Looking at the dead-serious man in front of her, she couldn’t help but wonder: did “serving in bed” really mean what she thought it meant? Or was she overthinking, and Zephyrus meant something else entirely?
“Your Majesty.” Zephyrus stared into her eyes. “I would like to stay tonight. Is that alright?”
Under the hazy moonlight, the man was extraordinarily handsome. Despite his deep features, sharp lines, and wild appearance, he was currently kneeling on one knee, bowing his back and looking up at her. His golden eyes were dark and profound; looking into them, she saw only herself.
A wave of heat climbed up the back of her ears. Su Lili felt herself sinking into his gaze; the words of refusal were stuck in her throat, difficult to voice.
They looked at each other in silence. The young Queen’s cheeks and ears were flushed a faint pink, and her eyes were misty with a mix of shock and shyness.
But there was no disgust. Zephyrus’s golden eyes suddenly lit up.
“Your Majesty has not refused. Is that a ‘yes’?”
He reached out with his long arm and cradled the girl’s hand. Her slender, white palm was like a jade sculpture, completely enveloped by his dark, large hand. His thumb, slightly calloused, lightly brushed over the delicate inner side of her wrist, sending a tingly, numbing sensation through her.
Zephyrus buried his face in her hand. His high-bridged nose rubbed incessantly against her dry palm, and his hot, thin lips—carrying the peculiar coolness of a moonlit night—kissed down. The warm, moist breath traveled up from her palm, first pressing against her skin, then grinding gently in place.
Su Lili’s skin was very white, with a faint pink hue at the joints. When Zephyrus’s kiss landed on the inside of her elbow, his sharp features pressed slightly into her snowy flesh, looking like dark chocolate wrapped in milk. A thick fragrance seeped through her skin, drilling into his pores. Beneath his gray-white lashes, Zephyrus’s gaze became increasingly intense and dark. In the quiet of the night, the man’s body temperature was startlingly hot.
“It itches.” Su Lili instinctively pulled her hand back.
However, her wrist was suddenly caught. His large, well-defined hand pressed into her soft flesh, squeezing slightly as if reluctant to let go. With just a little force, Zephyrus could have pinned the girl in his palm. But, as he had done before and would do every time in the future, he eventually let go.
He lifted his head from the girl’s white arm. Perhaps because they were pressed so tightly together, his nose and forehead were flushed. He looked at her with some confusion, his voice hoarse.
“Do you not like it, Your Majesty?”
“…”
It wasn’t that she didn’t like it. It was just a very foreign feeling. The warm kisses and moist breath were a bit tingly and itchy. Her heartbeat had accelerated, and she felt a bit short of breath.
Su Lili pulled her hands behind her back, her fingers curled into her palms. She averted her eyes, not daring to meet his gaze. Her sweet voice carried a slight tremor.
“It’s late. You should go back first.”
The crimson flush spread from the back of her ears all the way to her collarbone, disappearing beneath her neckline. Her dark lashes trembled incessantly, and a moist mist rose in her eyes.
“I understand.” Zephyrus curled his lips and stood up, taking half a step back. “Next time, I will work harder to make you more comfortable, Your Majesty.”
In the morning, Su Lili woke up dazed and let out a yawn. Last night, she had been restless and only fell asleep after a long struggle. Fortunately, as the Queen, she could wake up whenever she wanted.
“Your Majesty, are you awake?” A cold male voice came from outside the door, likely hearing movement in the room. It was Lucius.
“Mmm.” Su Lili stretched, stood up, and threw on a robe. “Come in.”
Lucius walked in. He looked much more energetic, having returned to his usual noble and refined image as the Grand Priest. Seeing that she had only simply straightened her long hair, he stepped forward to braid it for her.
As his slender fingers wove through the soft black hair, Lucius lowered his eyes, carefully observing the Queen’s state. The girl’s expression was soft, with a faint smile on her face; she seemed to be in a good mood.
Yesterday, the trending topic of the Queen visiting the Colosseum with someone had dominated the charts, and people on the Star-Network were still discussing it. On the ranking of the Queen’s most favored bugs, “Zephyrus stocks” had skyrocketed. Is it because she had a great time with Zephyrus yesterday?
Yet, there were slight shadows under her eyes. Hooking a strand of hair with his pinky, he asked, “Your Majesty, did you not rest well last night?”
The sensation of his fingertips rubbing against her scalp was sleep-inducing. Su Lili narrowed her eyes. Her gaze instinctively fell on her wrist. Her skin was extremely white and thin, showing the faint blue-purple veins underneath. Even though Zephyrus hadn’t used force intentionally yesterday, mottled, ambiguous marks were left from her wrist to the inside of her elbow.
She was wearing a half-sleeved robe today, and the varying shades of red marks crisscrossed upward until they disappeared into her sleeve, inviting a wealth of imagination. The warm, moist sensation in the cool night and Zephyrus’s flushed, moist golden eyes seemed to appear before her again. Su Lili’s ears turned pink once more as she gave a low response.
“Mmm.”
His eyes flickering, Lucius’s mind raced through a thousand thoughts, his back molars grinding hard. Zephyrus, how dare he?
The Majesty is young, inexperienced, and has not yet “awakened”; she is as pure as a blank sheet of paper. He must have deliberately seduced and enticed her. To receive the Queen’s favor is already his luck, yet he showed no restraint and exhausted her. The Majesty is young and prone to “overindulgence” without a sense of proportion. Does he not have any either?
He asked with concern, “Was Your Majesty… overstuffed yesterday?”
The amount of food yesterday was indeed large. Although Zephyrus helped, she had still eaten a lot. Su Lili touched her stomach, feeling that it was still a bit bloated.
“I was a bit overstuffed yesterday; I’m much better now.”
As expected! Zephyrus is naturally large, and the Queen is petite. He actually “stuffed” the Queen so much that she hadn’t fully recovered after an entire night. Collecting her long hair behind her head, he spoke with an unavoidable tone of bitterness.
“Your Majesty, Zephyrus was truly too much.”
“It wasn’t Zephyrus’s fault.” Su Lili tilted her neck to make it easier for him to groom her. “I wanted to eat it all myself.”
Lucius’s eyes suddenly turned red. Even at this stage, the Queen was still protecting that “lecherous bug.” She was even making excuses for him. What kind of charm magic does he have? Recalling everything about Zephyrus, Lucius looked bewildered. Aside from being a bit larger, he doesn’t usually look like a bug with a lot of tricks.
Heart aching with jealousy, he couldn’t help but advise, “Your Majesty, you are still young, and the days ahead are long. You must pay attention to moderation in all things. Your health should come first; make sure to rest.”
Her stomach feeling full was indeed a bit uncomfortable, so Su Lili agreed. “I’ll be careful to eat a bit less next time.”
Next time! There’s a next time! Lucius bit his lip. Was the Majesty truly so satisfied with Zephyrus? If the Majesty liked this kind of “large quantity and full satisfaction,” then did he have a chance too?
He spoke hesitantly, his voice trembling slightly. “Your Majesty, what Zephyrus can do, I can do as well. Next time… can I be with you too?”
“No problem.” Su Lili understood. She had felt Lucius’s tone was a bit strange, and his card in the system panel had been flashing incessantly. It turned out he was jealous. He felt she hadn’t taken him along when she went out with Zephyrus yesterday.
“I didn’t call you yesterday because you didn’t seem to be in a good state. Next time, we’ll go together.”
So that was it. His green eyes curved into a satisfied arc, and Lucius felt a deep sense of happiness. The Queen hadn’t actually forgotten him. He vowed to work hard on his physical fitness and spirit to present the Queen with his best state.
He said, “I will certainly work hard to satisfy you, Your Majesty.”
Simultaneously, on the system panel, Lucius’s favorability rose slowly, with the last star turning black by a third.
Su Lili: I think I know how to raise his favorability now. She continued, “I’m looking forward to it. I believe you will do even better than Zephyrus.”
As expected, the favorability rose again; the last star was now half black.
“Mmm.” A large patch of red appeared on his sensitive neck. Lucius lowered his head and replied shyly, “I am also looking forward to it.”
The bliss of being affirmed by the Queen nearly made him faint; he was so excited he could barely hold her hair. His whole body was tense. Pitting his last ounce of strength, he finished styling her hair. If they continued this topic, he feared he would lose his composure before the Queen again!
Lucius shifted the subject. “The Federation has accepted your invitation. The Federation’s home planet is quite far from the Zerg home world; they will only arrive by the time of the Royal Guard selection finals.”
Su Lili gave a low hum of acknowledgement. She asked curiously, “Who will they send?”
“The Federation’s Chairman will come personally to show their respect.” Lucius patiently explained and opened a search engine for her.
The Federation Chairman was named Lorian. His profile was full of achievements since taking office, but his past was almost entirely hidden. It was only known that he was a ruthless character who fought his way up from the Federation slums to become a ruler. As the youngest Chairman in Federation history with the thinnest background, Lorian’s methods of governance were cold and cruel—the kind of person whose name could stop a child’s crying in the Federation.
The man in the photo had black hair and black eyes, a look she was familiar with. However, it didn’t make her feel any sense of closeness. He looks too cold. Like a sharp blade. The way he looked at the camera with drooping eyelids was indescribably sinister and fierce.
More uniquely, in all the photos, he was sitting in a wheelchair. The profile stated he had been injured in the slums and had lost sensation in his lower body. Furthermore, his health always seemed to be poor.
Scrolling down past the personal data, there were anonymous comments from Federation citizens. Overall, aside from his iron-fisted methods, the Chairman was a very successful leader under whom the Federation had developed well. He had almost no scandals—except for one thing.
According to Federation lifespans, Lorian was long past the age of starting a family. Yet, he remained unmarried. There were many rumors about this in the Federation. Some guessed he was secretly married with several children; others rumored he had a “white moonlight” in the slums for whom he remained chaste.
Because of his lower-body disability, the boldest and most widely circulated speculation was…
—He is impotent.
