The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 29
Chapter 29: He’s a Man?
“Holy sh*t…”
“I never thought the first time I’d hear ‘Star’s’ voice would be under these circumstances.”
“That sentence was… a bit much, wasn’t it?”
“I just exited and double-checked—the other pilot is also male!”
“Star, you…”
“Shocking! Why did the number one player on the leaderboard just come out of the closet?”
“Don’t overthink it. If you ask me, Star is just teasing a junior.”
“Maybe he saw a promising newcomer and wants to develop a ‘brotherhood’.”
“The person above just redefined ‘good brothers’!”
On the livestream screen, the jade-colored cat mecha flickered its ears, its heterochromatic gold-green eyes full of suspicion.
Su Lili: Is this guy out of his mind?
Even though it was nearly the same size as the black leopard mecha, the Jade Cat’s overly beautiful appearance made it look entirely non-threatening. Currently, its look of disbelief appeared adorably clumsy. “Star” let out a low laugh.
I’ll just treat it like raising a disobedient little cub.
The vigorous and elegant Black Leopard, in a gentle and highly friendly gesture, slowly paced over to her side, leaning shoulder-to-shoulder with the Jade Cat. A large, thick leopard paw patted the exquisite snow-white cat paw, and the sturdy black tail even coiled around the porcelain-like cat tail.
Since the mecha and pilot shared a sensory link, the feeling was as if two people were pressed tightly against each other. Su Lili shuddered. The Jade Cat shook its head impatiently, trying to drive away the intruder.
As expected, it smells best up close.
Inside the Black Leopard’s cockpit, “Star” seized another chance to inhale the sweet fragrance. He felt his whole body relax; fine electrical currents pulsed through him, making his brain sizzle with pleasure. He rubbed his chin—the slight cleft in the middle becoming more pronounced as he smiled—and the Black Leopard pressed its large face against the Jade Cat’s mouth, nuzzling affectionately.
“Kitten, take another bite.”
The mechanical leopard face, which theoretically shouldn’t show emotion, actually betrayed a hint of obsession.
Su Lili, expressionless: “Help, there’s a pervert…”
The white-glaze Jade Cat took a half-step back, pushing the Black Leopard away by pressing a snowy paw against its nose.
“So fragrant.”
The sweet scent mixed with the fresh smell of grass wafted from the cat’s paw. The Black Leopard, feeling playful, took the cat’s paw into its mouth, licking and nibbling as if tasting a limited-edition cupcake.
Star: “If you don’t want to bite my throat, where do you want to bite?”
“I’m fine with anything. I’ll cooperate with you.”
Skeptical, Su Lili maneuvered the Jade Cat to tentatively press its paw against the wound on the Black Leopard’s throat.
“Sss—”
The man hissed. The sensation of the soft paw pad rubbing against the wound was sour and itchy, and that strange fire in his gut only rose higher. The leopard slid to the ground, its entire body rubbing toward the Jade Cat.
Su Lili scrutinized the Black Leopard, which showed zero intent to attack. Is this guy serious?
A win is a win.
The Jade Cat, as beautiful and exquisite as a statue, stepped onto the Black Leopard’s chest and leaned down to bite its throat. Beneath the paw, the leopard trembled and writhed, its throat emitting constant “purring” sounds.
That deep, lazy male voice: “Continue. Don’t stop.”
Su Lili: “…”
Such a nice voice, too bad his brain isn’t clear.
Bite after bite, the wounds on the leopard’s throat increased, and blue-purple sparks flickered incessantly. Inside the cockpit, the man half-closed his eyes, his remaining vision locked onto the Jade Cat before him, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
It really hurt, but it also felt incredibly good.
“Regrettably, you have been eliminated.”
Before he could enjoy it enough, the system announcement sounded. The sweet fragrance was instantly sucked away from him as he was ejected from the arena.
High-tier players didn’t need to go to the Battle Hall; they had their own private login interfaces. The man sitting in his chair was unable to pull himself out of the moment for a while. A thick darkness swirled in his eyes, and the air pressure around him was terrifyingly low. He rubbed his fingertips, as if the sweet scent still lingered there.
His communicator chirped incessantly. He didn’t have many friends, but almost all of them were messaging him now, asking if his account had been hacked. The man, currently in a foul mood, had no desire to reply and blacklisted them all in one go.
He turned to study his opponent’s data. Low level, very few matches.
Looks like a pure newbie who just started.
To be able to go back and forth with him right from the start… Not bad. The man nodded, his eyes showing admiration. Truly a brave and cute kitten.
Then, his dark gaze fell on the gender column:
Name: Lili, Gender: Male
His high brow-bone pressed down, casting a shadow over his deep-set eyes.
The kitten I took a fancy to… is a man?
Few would believe it if told. The man, who appeared debauched and acted recklessly, was actually still a virgin. Due to his powerful, reliable strength and handsome, charming appearance, countless people of the opposite sex had made advances. But he had turned them all away. For years, he had traveled to bars across various planets and knew exactly which locations had the best wine. In reality, he hadn’t even touched a girl’s hand.
Not only that, if a woman took the initiative—verbally was fine—but as soon as physical contact was involved, he felt disgusted from the bottom of his heart. If he had to name a reason: the smell was wrong. The stronger the constitution, the more sensitive the senses; he could smell someone from a great distance. It wasn’t that they smelled bad, he just didn’t like it. In all these years, there hadn’t been a single person he liked.
Last time, a woman claiming to be the number one beauty in the galaxy threw herself into his arms. Almost by reflex, his combat boot flew out and kicked her away. God as his witness, he really didn’t mean to. To apologize afterward, he gave her all the cash he had on him—an amount sufficient to buy that planet. The woman, who had been crying, left in high spirits with the money, swearing to him: “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”
Tell them what? The man, as elegant and powerful as a black leopard, was rarely confused.
However, after that night, news that the leader of the galaxy’s number one mercenary group was gay spread like wildfire. When he went out, the people throwing themselves at him changed from women to men. He didn’t actually care and didn’t bother to clarify; either way, no one was allowed within three feet of him.
But now, the person with the scent that made him almost addicted… was a man.
With his brows tightly knit, the man’s handsome features were clouded. His gaze was heavy, lost in thought. He couldn’t help but doubt himself: Am I really gay? But in all these years… he had never liked any other man either.
The man who could drive a mecha through the universe and blow up a planet without blinking was now troubled. After thinking it over, he didn’t know what to do. He flipped through his contacts and pulled someone out of his blacklist. This person had a likable, simple baby face, but in reality, he had lovers across the galaxy and called himself a “master of emotional professions.”
He asked: I took a fancy to a kitten. Want to raise it.
The reply from the other side was fast, one message after another:
Derry: No way, Boss, are you for real? Derry: I just watched the match. Was it the opponent? Xing Xun: Yeah.]Derry: …Gossip really does have a point sometimes. The more ridiculous it is, the more likely it’s true.
Xing Xun knit his brows unpleasantly. Although he was confused right now, he was never one to be easily joked with.
Xing Xun: ?
Years of accumulated prestige meant a single question mark was enough to make the person on the other end break into a cold sweat. Sure enough, the other side backpedaled quickly.
Derry: Sorry, Boss. Derry: I shouldn’t joke about you and Sister-in-law. Derry: Here is my years of accumulated experience, please check the attachment – Archive.zip
His brows relaxed slightly at the word “Sister-in-law.” After receiving the archive, the man didn’t wait for the other messages. He moved his hand and put the noisy Derry back into the blacklist.
He opened the first rule of the document: Fully demonstrate your advantages, actively express your love to close the distance, and first, add their contact information.
Simple enough. A confident smile curled his thin lips. He selected “Lili” and sent a friend request.
“Hello, I really like the scent on you. The biting earlier also felt very comfortable. Can we continue to interact?”
“I am 198cm tall, have no bad habits, and many people have described my body as perfect. I have a wealthy family background and own property on every High-tier planet. If there’s something you like that can’t be bought, I can steal it for you.”
He thought about it and added one more line.
“I am still a virgin. So far, I’ve only felt something for you.”
“…”
The friend request from the other side was too shocking. Su Lili wrinkled her nose, her face twisting into an indescribable, strange expression.
“This person… really does have a brain problem.”
After the victory settlement, her points had skyrocketed. She checked and found it was because the guy’s points were so high that the system judged her as having defeated a much higher-ranked opponent, doubling and redoubling her reward.
Thanks to her, the previously undefeated legend with a 100% win rate, “Star,” had fallen from his altar. His win rate was now 99.9%. It seemed like a decrease of only 0.1%, but that 0.1% was the symbol of a myth—it was a man’s glory!
In the game forums, countless fans of “Star” were wailing, their posts flooding the screen: “Star, you’re confused!” “Wuwuwu, my youth is gone.” “Don’t love too hard, big brother!” “You’re all calling it love, but am I the only one considering another possibility?” “Do you think it’s possible the Jade Cat is a spiritual-control type mecha? The Black Leopard only acted like that because it was being controlled.” “Brother, I understand your idol’s heart is broken, but don’t be too ridiculous… 1V1 bans all extra skills.”
Su Lili’s gaze lingered for only a moment before she clicked “Reject” and threw the account into her blacklist.
—She hadn’t forgotten that her current data showed she was male.
The friend request that was just sent was rejected in seconds. The man who had been sitting with his legs crossed in a leisurely posture widened his eyes in disbelief.
She must have been too excited and clicked the wrong button.
Send it again!
Sorry, you have been blacklisted by the recipient.
The system’s cold red text forced the man to face reality.
CRACK.
The finely crafted Star-Brain was crushed in his grip. The face of the man sitting on the sofa turned so dark it looked like it could drip ink.
In the underground of a pale, desolate planet at the edge of the galaxy.
Fula ground the shards of broken reinforced glass under his boot, his expression full of impatience.
“I told you to watch Subject 1. Is this how you watch him?”
The exotic beasts, which were hunted by everyone in the galaxy, seemed to have their own consciousness as they low-pitchedly conversed with him.
Fula: “You’re saying that a few days ago, he snatched a researcher’s Star-Brain, watched a livestream, and then became very agitated.”
The star-beast lowered its head and began to gesture wildly with its limbs.
Fula sneered: “I know you all watched it too.” “Don’t forget I’m the one who secretly patched your signal into the database. Otherwise, with your status as scum, would you even be qualified to watch?”
Pacing to the floor-to-ceiling window, he gazed out at the deep universe.
“Heh, he entered heat after just two glances.” “And now he’s run off to find her.”
His slender brows twitched slightly. He squeezed a pale glass bottle in his palm, pressing his nose to the opening to rub against it, as if he could still smell the girl’s fragrance.
“Your charm is truly great, Your Majesty.”
In contrast, within the magnificent sleeping quarters, the girl leaning against her headboard was quite comfortable. The feeling of controlling a mecha was very subtle—that sense of being in control was intoxicating. When she was running on the grass with the Jade Cat, she felt an unprecedented sense of freedom and relaxation.
However, even though simulations consumed less spiritual power, they still consumed some. She glanced at the system panel. After playing all night, her C-grade spiritual power was at 70%.
Got to use it sparingly, she reminded herself. Drowsily, she buried her head in the soft quilt and fell into a sweet sleep.
The next day.
Under a crystal blue sky, the rose branches climbing outside the castle bloomed silently, their fragrance overwhelming. Sunlight spilled gently onto the milky-white marble windowsill, passing through the gauzy curtains that moved like waves in the wind, casting overlapping shadows on the girl’s face.
Su Lili rubbed her eyes and woke up slowly.
“Your Majesty, you are awake.” Zephyrus waited respectfully outside the bed curtains, asking thoughtfully, “Would you like breakfast now? What would you like to eat?”
“There’s someone here!”
Pulling up the quilt, Su Lili shrank back into the bed. Her gaze fell on the visitor. “Zephyrus, why are you here?”
“My King, have you forgotten?” The man stared with his phoenix-like eyes, his expression somewhat innocent. “Damian and Celar have taken leave. It is my turn to take care of your daily needs today.”
“…”
Her brain, slow from just waking up, turned over the thought. It seemed there was such an arrangement.
“But,” the girl on the bed turned slightly red, her clear gaze looking over. “I never gave you permission to enter my room.”
“My apologies, Your Majesty.” Zephyrus knelt on one knee, his head bowed low in atonement. “I assumed they cared for you in this manner, so I entered the room.”
“They usually wait for me outside the door.” “Forget it.” Su Lili waved her hand. Her sleeping posture was always good, and there was nothing shameful to see.
“Yes, I understand. My apologies, Your Majesty.” His tone was sincere as he apologized again, but the corners of his lips secretly curved into an arc.
—The King’s sleeping posture… is so cute.
