The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 19
Chapter 19: Drawing Near
That voice was indescribably moving, lingering on the lips as if savored ten thousand times before being uttered. It echoed lowly by her ear, carrying a thick, possessive sense of inevitable conquest.
He was saying: “My… female…”
Those purple vertical pupils, belonging to a beast, stared unblinkingly at the camera. It was as if he already regarded her as his property, as if in the next second he could burst through the screen and carry her back to his nest. Being watched by such a gaze, Su Lili felt a momentary sense of suffocation.
She couldn’t help but shudder; goosebumps instantly rose on her sensitive nape.
It feels like… I’ve been targeted by a monster.
In the live stream, the newborn Queen appeared frightened. Her exquisite, small face was pale, her lips slightly parted, and her gaze toward the camera was dazed and innocent. It was a look of someone clearly repulsed and terrified by that disgusting variant.
Everything happened too fast. Before those around Su Lili could react, the live stream was automatically cut off.
“Filthy monster, staining the King’s eyes.”
To think he dared to do such a thing to the King. Zephyros’s face was ice-cold, his entire being surging with murderous intent.
While Lucius secretly ordered the Temple to investigate how a variant managed to log into the Zerg live stream, he also moved to appease the agitated Zerg in the chat. Noticing Su Lili’s unease, he did not agree to the crowd’s demand for a redraw. Lucius leaned forward, blocking the camera. “The King is tired and must rest.”
Though the Zerg in the stream were disappointed, the King’s feelings always took priority. To shift their focus, Lucius dropped a bombshell:
“Registration for the King’s Imperial Guard selection will officially begin next week.”
As a direct-command legion under the Queen, the Imperial Guard offered opportunities for direct contact far beyond that of ordinary Zerg. Most of the previous Queens’ close attendants came from their ranks. The Zerg had waited three hundred years for this newborn monarch; every move she made melted their hearts. Consequently, the attention on this selection reached an unprecedented fever pitch.
Su Lili had discussed this with Lucius before the stream, wanting to use the broadcast to officially announce it. For her own selfish reasons—the more Zerg she met, the higher the chance of unlocking new cards—she requested that the entire selection take place on the home planet and changed the system from “tribal nomination” to “independent registration.”
Lucius naturally had no objections. The King’s will was the will of all Zerg. However, he couldn’t help but wonder: why did she want to see more Zerg? Was she feeling insecure and wanted more protection? Or was she bored with the few of them currently surrounding her and seeking “fresh blood”?
But what does that have to do with you? Lucius scolded himself inwardly. He had no right to question her.

In the Prefect’s Lounge, Sanjis watched the stream with a small, gold-handled dagger dancing between his fingers like a metallic butterfly. Seeing the comments about fighting for the Queen, he sneered.
“Incompetent trash. Do they think they’re worthy of being seen by the King?”
He flicked his hair, his deep green cat-like eyes narrowing. He threw the dagger without looking back. “The only one the King will see is me.” Behind him, the dagger hit the bullseye of a metal target, which instantly cracked and turned to ash.
…
In the Queen’s bedroom, Su Lili lay on her bed, her black hair contrasting with the luxury surrounding her.
Status: Su Lili | Zerg Queen/OMEGA Constitution: D (You might be able to win a fight against a Federation toddler) Mental Power: SSS (Unrivaled) Main Quest: Ascend the Throne (30/100) Warning: You have attracted the attention of %&*#.
The strange “lucky winner”? Su Lili frowned. The memory of the snake-like tongue licking the screen made her skin crawl. She was tired of being the prey. With SSS mental power and the Zerg army at her disposal, she could be the hunter.
She looked at her cards. Lucius was a mystery. Phelan had low loyalty. That left Zephyros.
Zephyros: 4 Stars Affection | 5 Stars Loyalty
He was the most reserved, yet he was always there like a constant star. She decided to start with him. But how? In her past life, she was always the one being pursued.
She sent him a message: “Zephyros, I want to discuss the training with you… can you come over tomorrow morning?”
But she wasn’t used to the Star-Brain. She accidentally sent the first half before finishing the second. Zephyros replied instantly: “Understood, Your Majesty. I am coming over immediately.”
…
News of the King summoning Zephyros at night spread quickly.
Lucius, looking at the report on the “variant” (which used the account of a missing Zerg scientist named David), felt a surge of bitterness. Why him? Why not you, Lucius? But he quickly suppressed it. “Continue the investigation. Strengthen the guard.”
Phelan, in his nearby quarters, was “preparing” himself. Wearing only a black silk robe that exposed his chest and the reddening honey chamber on his collarbone, he panted in the dark. “King…” A subordinate from the Third Legion interrupted to congratulate him and warn him: “The King just summoned Zephyros.” Phelan’s eyes turned cold with mockery. That old-fashioned blockhead… what tricks did he use? He stood before the mirror, adjusting his robe so the belt would fall apart with a single tug. The “Shadow of the Zerg” then used his legendary stealth skills to creep toward the Queen’s bedroom.
…
At the Queen’s door, Zephyros stood straight. He had meticulously groomed his white hair and polished every scale on his bone wings. He wore a “training shirt” that was subtly translucent and stretched tight across his bulging muscles.
He knocked. “King, Zephyros requests entry.”
Su Lili opened the door. She was wearing a champagne-colored silk nightgown with a matching robe. To Zephyros, she looked like a cute little wife welcoming her husband home. He wanted to wrap his wings around her and kiss her until his possessiveness was satisfied.
Inside, the atmosphere was thick. Zephyros sat on a three-person sofa, his large frame and bone wings making him look like a dragon in a small nest. Su Lili sat nearby, and they began discussing the training.
As they watched battle videos on a hologram, Su Lili leaned closer to see better. Her soft body curved, and her low neckline revealed the rise and fall of her chest with every breath. Zephyros’s ears turned red; he tensed, trying to keep his distance but failing.
“Can I sit next to you?” Su Lili asked.
Zephyros’s wing tip accidentally sliced the sofa in his agitation. He quickly tucked the stuffing back in. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
She sat beside him. The soft sofa caused her to slide toward him. His bone wings instinctively curled around her from behind, hovering over her curves. He was a dragon protecting a pearl.
Zephyros grew bold. He switched the hologram to his left hand and leaned back, draping his right arm over the sofa behind her as if embracing her. His leg brushed against her small calf. His voice dropped to a low, husky register.
Su Lili turned to look at him, forgetting how close they were. Her nose brushed his Adam’s apple; her lips almost touched him.
“Sorry!” Startled, she tried to back away, but the soft sofa offered no support. She fell backward.
“King, be careful.” Zephyros leaned forward, his large, calloused hand catching her by the waist. So thin. So light. He couldn’t help but give her waist a slight squeeze.
Su Lili’s throat was exposed, her hair tumbling down. She stared at him in disbelief. Was this the “ascetic, serious” man she knew?
“Sorry,” Zephyros said, his mood clearly excellent. He saw no disgust in her eyes. He helped her up and measured her waist with his hands. “But your waist is truly too thin.”

“Would the King like to check for herself?” He took her hand and pressed it against his hot, muscular chest. Su Lili could feel the heat of his skin through the mesh shirt. She swallowed hard.
Knock, knock.
“King, are you there?” Phelan’s voice rang from outside.
The atmosphere shattered. Su Lili felt like a wife caught with a lover. She tried to pull her hand away, her fingers accidentally scratching his chest.
Zephyros chuckled, a sound that made her spine tingle. He knelt before her and kissed the back of her hand. “You needn’t apologize. For me, this is a blessing.” He pressed his face into her palm, acting like her submissive property.
Then, he stood up, his military discipline returning instantly. “King, I will get the door.”
He opened it to find Phelan, who tried to squeeze inside with a sweet, cloying tone. Phelan stopped, smelling the “disgusting male scent” of his rival.
“Zephyros.” “Phelan. You don’t seem surprised to see me.” “Who the King summons is her choice,” Phelan retorted, glaring at Zephyros’s translucent shirt. “Mm,” Zephyros stepped aside. “The King is over there.”
