The Movie Queen’s Charming Little Wife: Feigning Amnesia Online - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
In a flash of inspiration, Lin Mo decided to strike first.
She looked at the beauty before her, trying her best to make her gaze appear sincere. “I thought about it yesterday. If you like Mu Fei, you should divorce me as soon as possible. I don’t want to hold you back!”
Xue Luhe pursed her lips in silence, a hint of displeasure crossing her brow. She lowered her voice. “You think… I’ll listen to you?”
Lin Mo: “…”
She was speechless. She could only puff out her cheeks in annoyance, get up, and head to the bathroom to freshen up.
Xue Luhe stood up and followed her, leaning softly against the bathroom wall, observing her every move. That bone-deep gaze made Lin Mo accidentally bite the tip of her tongue while brushing her teeth. Finally, unable to take it anymore, she hopped on one foot into the shower area and shouted to Xue Luhe:
“Go away! I’m going to take a bath!”
Xue Luhe leaned against the doorframe and smiled slightly—a smile capable of enchanting the world. Her eyes were full of spirit, and a hint of intoxicating honey seemed hidden at the corners of her lips.
“You are my wife. What’s wrong with looking?”
Ignoring the content, that cello-like tone was truly pleasant to the ear. However… she stayed leaned against the wall with no intention of leaving!
Lin Mo was embarrassed and anxious, her cheeks flushed pink. Fortunately, the shower had a curtain. She quickly pulled it shut, finally feeling a bit safer. Through the curtain, she saw the hazy, slender figure at the door finally move and walk away.
Lin Mo stripped quickly, adjusted the water temperature, and sat in the spacious tub, keeping her injured foot outside while she took a quick bath. She checked her body and was relieved to find it extremely healthy—no blemishes, smooth skin, and a youthful glow.
After the bath, Lin Mo put on a blue dress—the most ordinary-colored item she could find in the walk-in closet after much careful selection. She looked in the mirror; it fit her well.
She spent a long time mentally preparing herself, but when she stepped out, she found that Xue Luhe was nowhere to be seen. She hopped back to bed, feeling lost, unsure of what to do next.
Currently, her main life goal was: stay low-profile, grow quietly, and survive until the day of the divorce. Then, she would be free! But how was she to kill time during this idle year?
Lin Mo thought about it and took out her phone to continue searching the news. She needed to understand this world better first.
As expected, everything matched the original story. Mu Fei, as a popular starlet, had starred in a hit TV drama and exploded in popularity, with her ambiguous relationship with Best Actress Xue Luhe causing speculation across the internet.
Mu Fei’s photos were indeed beautiful—just as the book described—with a pure temperament and movements that appeared fragile and endearing. As Lin Mo looked closely, she realized that Mu Fei’s features were somewhat similar to her own in this body. Both had round apricot eyes, small noses, thin lips, and a youthful face shape.
The difference was that Mu Fei had long, straight black hair and a “girl-next-door” style, while the original Lin Mo had “instant noodle” permed hair and heavy smoky makeup, favoring a punk style. Lin Mo had nothing against punk, but on this body, that look was jarringly unharmonious.
However… watching Mu Fei tuck her black hair back and smile at an awards ceremony, a plan began to form in Lin Mo’s mind.
Since Xue Luhe likes this type… then don’t blame me for being “ruthless”!
The Mask and the Medicine
Xue Luhe was in the study handling business.
Her acting was mostly for recreation; her “real” profession was Chairman of a multinational group. There were endless documents to approve every day.
During today’s video conference, her Chief Secretary, Xu Lu, noticed that the usually meticulous and strictly demanding Xue Luhe had spaced out several times. She hadn’t even caught a glaring error from the finance manager! This was unlike her.
When the meeting ended and everyone else logged off, Xu Lu took a chance to ask: “Chairman Xue, is something bothering you today?”
Xue Luhe closed her eyes and opened them again. At this moment, she looked completely different from the flirtatious, unrestrained actress Lin Mo saw. She seemed to have countless masks, adapting to every occasion and identity, making it impossible to grasp her true self.
With just a slight glance, Xu Lu on the other side of the screen shivered and lowered her head. “I’m sorry, I misspoke.”
Xue Luhe instead shook a finger and said in a deep voice: “You’re right. Some things have been worrying me lately. Help me find a psychiatrist… also a neurologist, a dermatologist, and an orthopedic surgeon. As soon as possible.”
Xu Lu thought to herself: It sounds like the entire Xue family is falling apart… but Xue Luhe’s parents are long dead!
Xue Luhe’s father was the original chairman. After his accidental death, the group was in turmoil and the stock price plummeted. It was Xue Luhe who earned money through acting while subsidizing the group, using her brilliant management and bold reforms to unite everyone and create the current prosperity.
Xu Lu knew Xue Luhe had a wife from a business marriage, but she also knew there were no feelings between them. It never occurred to her that all these doctors were for that wife. Besides, even if she had thought of it, she wouldn’t have guessed that so many specialists were serving just one person.
Just how many problems does this person have?! Problems from head to toe, inside and out!
The “Monkey Face” Disaster
Xue Luhe finished some business, closed a locked drawer in her desk that she had been touching longingly, and walked out. The villa was empty and quiet. Since she didn’t like people in her sight, there were no live-in servants—only hourly cleaners and a chef who delivered food at set times.
She went upstairs to check on her “new pet.” To be honest, she felt a small spark of anticipation.
However, the sight that met her eyes killed all such feelings.
Lin Mo was sitting in a chair, smearing lipstick on her mouth. The problem was… she had used various cosmetics to turn her face into a hideous “stage-paint” disaster! Blue eyeshadow, red eyeliner, purple cheek highlights, yellow nose highlights, and messy black contouring that looked like smears of coal ash.
And the lipstick she was applying? A “Death Light Blue” with glitter!
The combination immediately reminded Xue Luhe of a monkey’s face from a nature documentary. Worse, this “monkey face” saw Xue Luhe and bared those unspeakable blue lips in a wide grin.
Xue Luhe felt mentally polluted. This wasn’t just a monkey face; a monkey’s butt would look better than this!
She marched into the room and snatched the blue lipstick—well, “lip-blue”—out of Lin Mo’s hand, snapped it in half, and tossed it into the trash. She then grabbed the palette of weirdly colored eyeshadows, threw it on the floor, and crushed it under her heel!
Lin Mo tried to stop her: “Hey, hey! Don’t throw that away, it looks expensive…”
Xue Luhe was so angry she laughed. “You want to turn yourself into a monkey’s butt? I’ve tolerated your face for a long time, and now you’re making it worse?”
Lin Mo snickered internally. Gotcha! I knew someone as obsessed with appearance as Xue Luhe couldn’t stand messy makeup. If I get uglier and uglier, won’t she divorce me even faster just to get away from me?
I really am a little genius!
Lin Mo put on a wronged expression. “But I just like those colors. I can’t go out, so I can only try them at home. I thought it looked pretty just now, didn’t you?”
Looking at this “monkey butt” face, Xue Luhe felt a rare wave of dizziness and leaned against her hand. Lin Mo felt she was winning and kept babbling:
“I have amnesia, I don’t know how to do makeup. I have to learn from scratch. If you can’t stand looking at me, you can just divorce me…”
The more Lin Mo spoke, the more Xue Luhe frowned—and the happier Lin Mo became. However, her smugness lasted only a second.
Because, at some point, Xue Luhe had pulled out that whip. At the sight of the beautiful, craft-like whip, Lin Mo’s ankle began to throb. She shut up instantly.
Xue Luhe said darkly: “Say one more word.”
Though the second half of the sentence wasn’t spoken, Lin Mo heard the subtext: Say one more word and I’ll break your leg!
Lin Mo: The leg is more important. Forget it, forget it.jpg
Xue Luhe pointed the tip of the whip toward the bathroom. “Go. Wash it off.”
Lin Mo didn’t move, wanting to put up one last bit of resistance. Xue Luhe uncoiled the whip and let out a sharp crack in the air.
Lin Mo jumped up immediately, hopped on one foot along the wall into the bathroom, and started washing her face obediently.
Why is this plot different from what I imagined? Shouldn’t she be so disgusted that she throws me away and divorces me? The direction is a bit off…
After washing her face, Lin Mo came out, still clutching a shred of hope. She asked cautiously: “If you really don’t like my makeup… then should we divorce?”
Xue Luhe swung the whip menacingly through the air, her eyes like sharp blades. “I could also just chop off your hands so you can never touch cosmetics again.”
Lin Mo: !!!
She immediately became as quiet as a mouse, sat down on her chair, and put on a formal, fake smile.
“Hahaha, I was just kidding! How could we possibly divorce? Tee-hee-hee!”
