The Movie Queen's Beloved Crybaby Alpha - Chapter 73
After packing their luggage, the two set off for the airport the next day.
In the departure lounge, they met Wei Youning and Xu Youyou, who had already regained her energy.
“Youyou, are you feeling better?” Ye Qinglan asked with concern.
Xu Youyou beamed: “Much better, Teacher Ye. Don’t worry, my physical condition is actually quite good.”
“Cut the nonsense. You’re the only one who got sick during all these episodes,” Wei Youning bluntly exposed her without mercy.
“Even horses stumble, and people can have their off days!” Xu Youyou retorted indignantly.
Wei Youning shrugged: “Alright, if that makes you feel better.”
Xu Youyou puffed up her cheeks, looking exactly like an angry little hamster.
Ye Qinglan chuckled before asking again: “Alright alright, as long as you’re fine. Just be more careful not to catch cold next time.”
“Okay,” Xu Youyou obediently replied.
Soon after, Du Wenjun and Xu Chaoyang arrived. Upon meeting, they first inquired about Xu Youyou’s condition, making her feel somewhat embarrassed.
When Jiang Can and her companion arrived, the airport announced boarding. The group chatted and laughed as they went through security and boarded the plane.
Their destination was a city in the northwestern frontier, quite far away. By the time they arrived, it would already be midnight.
At first, everyone had enough energy to chat and laugh on the plane, but during the latter half of the journey, they all dozed off sleepily.
Ning Yunshu and Ye Qinglan leaned their heads together, sleeping soundly.
Xu Youyou secretly took a photo. Noticing this, Wei Youning whispered: “What are you doing sneaking photos?”
Xu Youyou answered honestly: “Don’t worry, I won’t spread it around. I just want to enjoy some CP moments for myself.”
Wei Youning stared at her: “You can enjoy your CP, but later you’ll either have to delete it or ask Qinglan and the others.”
“Fine,” Xu Youyou pouted and said honestly: “I’ll ask Teacher Ye later, okay?”
“Alright, but remember this. Don’t forget,” Wei Youning nodded and reminded her again.
“Got it,” Xu Youyou grumbled in response, then closed her phone and eyes, saying: “I’m going to sleep now.”
Wei Youning shook her head helplessly before also closing her eyes to sleep.
The flight continued until the cabin announcement woke everyone up before landing.
“Ha~” Ye Qinglan yawned, looking at the night scenery and colorful lights outside the window, murmuring: “We’re finally here.”
Ning Yunshu packed up their belongings, waiting to disembark.
After landing, everyone gradually got off the plane and was transported to the hotel by bus.
Upon arriving at the hotel, as they prepared to go upstairs to their rooms, Wei Youning patted Xu Youyou’s shoulder. Understanding the hint, Xu Youyou pouted before approaching Ye Qinglan: “Teacher Ye, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”
Ye Qinglan blinked, seeing her serious expression, and said to Ning Yunshu beside her: “You go ahead first. I’ll talk with Youyou for a bit.”
Ning Yunshu nodded slightly: “Alright, I’ll wait for you upstairs. Give me the luggage.”
“Okay,” Ye Qinglan handed over her suitcase to Ning Yunshu before turning to Xu Youyou: “Alright, Youyou, what’s this mysterious matter about?”
Xu Youyou took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and opened her phone to show Ye Qinglan the photo she had taken. She then whispered, “I thought this moment looked really sweet, so I took a picture. But since it was taken without permission, I wanted to ask Teacher Ye if I could keep it as a memento?”
Ye Qinglan was initially surprised, but after glancing at the photo, she had to admit that Xu Youyou had captured a great angle, one that even she found heartwarming and endearing.
With a smile, she replied, “Of course you can. But, could you send me a copy too?”
Xu Youyou was momentarily stunned before her face lit up with joy. “Sure!” she said excitedly, quickly sending the photo to Ye Qinglan’s phone.
Ye Qinglan saved it and patted Xu Youyou’s head affectionately. “Good job. Next time you take nice photos, remember to share them with me too.”
Xu Youyou grinned. “Of course! Happy to be of service, Teacher Ye.”
Amused by her playful tone, Ye Qinglan chuckled softly before saying, “Alright, it’s getting late. Let’s head upstairs.”
“Okay.”
After going upstairs, they each returned to their rooms.
When the door opened, Ning Yunshu greeted Ye Qinglan with a smile. “What’s up? What were you two whispering about so mysteriously?”
“Curious, are you?” Ye Qinglan teased.
“Of course I am,” Ning Yunshu admitted without hesitation. “But I don’t know if you’re willing to tell me.”
Ye Qinglan burst into laughter and pinched Ning Yunshu’s cheek lightly. “You little curious pup. It’s nothing much, Youyou took a photo of the two of us and wanted to know if she could keep it, so she asked me.”
“Oh? What kind of photo?” Ning Yunshu’s curiosity grew.
Ye Qinglan showed her the photo with a smile. “See? Doesn’t it have a nice mood to it?”
Ning Yunshu took a look and had to agree the lighting and composition were perfect, evoking an involuntary soft smile. She nodded. “It really is beautiful.”
Hearing this, Ye Qinglan immediately set the photo as her phone wallpaper. Surprised by her boldness, Ning Yunshu couldn’t help but ask, “Sis, are you sure that’s okay?”
Ye Qinglan smiled at her. “Ning Yunshu, do you believe I can win Best Actress?”
Without hesitation, Ning Yunshu nodded. “I do.”
Ye Qinglan grinned. “I believe it too. So, let’s consider this a little preview. After all, the day I win, I plan to give everyone a big surprise.”
Warmth flooded Ning Yunshu’s heart at her words. She smiled. “Then I want it too. Send it to me, sis.”
“Alright, alright,” Ye Qinglan agreed with a laugh, forwarding the photo to her.
Seeing the identical lock screen, Ye Qinglan couldn’t help but smile. “Okay, time to wash up and get some rest. We have filming tomorrow.”
“Got it,” Ning Yunshu replied obediently.
After tidying up and washing, the two went to bed early. The next morning, they packed up, had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and followed the crew to the filming location, this time in the countryside. The remote northwestern region, though distant on the country’s border, was renowned for its fruits.
When they arrived at their destination and got off the car, the live stream began. The local villagers, though ethnic minorities, welcomed them warmly and led them into the orchard.
A community official received them. Though not an ethnic minority herself, she was fluent in their languages and could translate for villagers who struggled with Mandarin.
She enthusiastically introduced the local fruits, and some villagers even brought samples for them to taste.
The fruits were incredibly sweet, earning continuous praise from the group. Though the villagers couldn’t understand their words, they could tell from their expressions that they enjoyed them. The villagers responded with a few exaggerated remarks, which the official translated for them.
“They say, ‘We’re glad you like them. Someone as beautiful as you deserves such sweet fruits, eating them will make you even more beautiful.'”
The group burst into laughter. The villagers, simple and sincere, weren’t skilled with words, but their compliments were the most genuine.
They spent the morning picking fruits with the villagers, packing them into baskets, and watching as the villagers prepared to sell them in town. By noon, exhausted, they sat on the heated brick bed in a villager’s home, where a delicious lunch was soon served.
Hand-pulled rice and hand-torn mutton left them stuffed.
“Oh no, no,” Du Wenyun groaned, rubbing her stomach. “I just managed to lose the weight I gained from eating at President Xiao’s place, and now I’ve stuffed myself again.”
Xu Chaoyang chuckled. “It’s the last episode. After this, we won’t have many chances to indulge like this.”
Du Wenyun thought for a moment, then nodded. “You’re right.”
Ye Qinglan was even more troubled. In just over half a month, she had an audition. If her figure suffered, Ke Ying would never let her hear the end of it and might even intensify her training.
So, she was the only one who stopped eating at seventy percent fullness.
Ning Yunshu understood her reasoning and didn’t push her. In the afternoon, they bid farewell to the villagers and returned to the city, visiting a bustling ethnic minority market. The lively atmosphere and dazzling array of meats left the group in awe.
Ye Qinglan could only watch as the others sampled one delicacy after another, swallowing her envy in silence.
Ning Yunshu noticed. Each time she bought something, she got a small portion, coaxing Ye Qinglan to take a bite or two before finishing the rest herself. By the time they returned to the hotel that evening, Ning Yunshu had even taken two digestive pills.
Ye Qinglan found it amusing and gently massaged Ning Yunshu’s stomach.
“You, why did you eat so much?”
Ning Yunshu mumbled, “I just wanted you to have a little more. Keep rubbing, and I’ll feel better.”
Ye Qinglan laughed softly, continuing to massage her. “Alright, alright, I’ll rub it for you.”
Ning Yunshu obediently lay on Ye Qinglan’s lap before asking, “We’re going hiking tomorrow, right? Did you pack everything?”
“All set, don’t worry,” Ye Qinglan replied with a smile. “Just don’t overdo it like today. Once filming wraps up, we can come back and enjoy everything properly.”
Ning Yunshu grinned. “Got it. From now on, wherever you want to go, I’ll go with you. Whatever you want to eat, we’ll eat.”
Ye Qinglan’s lips curved. “You… Still, I think nothing tastes as good as what you make yourself.”
Ning Yunshu immediately sat up, eyes brightening as she looked at Ye Qinglan.
“Was what sister said true?”
Ye Qinglan found her reaction both exasperating and amusing. “Alright, alright, when have I ever lied to you?”
Ning Yunshu immediately hugged her, grinning as she whispered in Ye Qinglan’s ear,
“Then if sister likes it, I’ll learn how to make it for you in the future.”
“I’ll learn to cook anything sister wants to eat. I’ll make meals for sister for a lifetime.”
Ye Qinglan’s eyes curved into crescents.
“Sounds wonderful.”
