The Movie Queen's Beloved Crybaby Alpha - Chapter 15
While Ye Qinglan was busy with training, Ke Ying found herself with much more free time.
She had initially thought Ning Yunshu’s visit to the set might stir up some trouble, but after a long period of peace with no incidents, it seemed the two had maintained proper boundaries.
And, of course, the PR team of a major corporation was truly efficient.
Not a single detail about Ning Yunshu and Ye Qinglan had been leaked.
However, the finished advertisement for Ye Qinglan’s collaboration with J.S. had already been completed. The other party, showing great sincerity, sent over the images to check if there were any issues.
Given their professionalism, Ke Ying naturally responded promptly after confirming everything was perfect.
Thus, on the very day Ye Qinglan’s training ended, J.S. officially released the campaign.
Ke Ying had the PR team post a formal announcement on Ye Qinglan’s official account, and soon, a flood of fans swarmed the comments.
MilkTeaNotSweet: Aaaaaah, my girl looks so stylish in this outfit! Love it!
OvernightLemon: Honestly, with Ye Qinglan’s looks and aura, she’s more Alpha than most Alphas. What a waste that she’s an Omega.
QingQingLikeMe: So what if she’s an Omega?! Sister, look at me!
NoMoreClichés: Let’s be real, Ye Qinglan peaked right after debut and even landed a collaboration with J.S. That’s a full-blown protagonist’s script.
…
Thanks to the PR team’s efforts, there wasn’t a single negative comment in sight, finally putting Ke Ying’s lingering worries to rest.
Glancing at the time, Zhou Tiantian should be back soon with Ye Qinglan.
Just as she thought this, the office door was knocked.
“Come in.”
Ye Qinglan pushed the door open, and Ke Ying gave her a once-over. She was slightly tanner, but that wasn’t an issue, it would fade with time. Besides, as a police captain, she couldn’t afford to look too delicate.
She hadn’t lost weight; if anything, she looked more toned and energetic.
“Ke-jie,” Ye Qinglan greeted casually before flopping onto the sofa, sprawling out.
Ke Ying’s lips twitched. “Ye Qinglan, you’ve been away training for a month, and you still act like you have no bones?!”
Ye Qinglan didn’t budge. “I’ve been exhausted for a whole month, Ke-jie. Just let me rest. I’ve got another half-month before filming starts, it’s only going to get tougher.”
Rubbing her temples, Ke Ying sighed in resignation. “Fine. Your J.S. campaign just went live, and the response has been good. The set has scheduled your costume fitting for the day after tomorrow, so take the next two days to rest properly.”
“Got it. So, can I go home now?” Ye Qinglan immediately sat up straight.
Ke Ying shot her a look. “What’s the rush?”
Ye Qinglan waved her phone. “Dinner.”
Ke Ying: “???”
In the end, Ke Ying let her leave.
In high spirits, Ye Qinglan hummed a tune as she stepped into the elevator and opened her phone. The last messages were still between her and Ning Yunshu.
[Ning Yunshu]: Let me know when you’re on your way back, sis! The soup’s already simmering, I’ll start stir-frying once you’re on your way.
Ye Qinglan’s lips curled up as she quickly typed back.
[Ye Qinglan]: Heading back now.
The reply came just as fast.
[Ning Yunshu]: Great! I’ll start cooking then. Be safe on your way, sis.
Seeing this, Ye Qinglan smiled and put away her phone. After exiting the elevator, she found her car and drove off.
When she arrived home, the rich aroma of food greeted her as soon as she opened the door. Ning Yunshu happened to be walking out of the kitchen with a freshly cooked dish, smiling warmly at her.
“Welcome back, sis. Go change and wash up dinner’s ready.”
At this sight, Ye Qinglan’s heart melted completely.
Ever since she moved out after graduating from university, her home had always been cold and quiet. But after Ning Yunshu moved in, the place finally felt alive.
Coming home to a prepared meal like this, it was truly comforting.
Ye Qinglan chuckled softly in response. “Okay.”
After taking off her shoes and hanging up her coat, she changed into loungewear and returned to find Ning Yunshu had already set the table, waiting for her.
Ye Qinglan washed her hands and sat down. Ning Yunshu served her a bowl of soup and said with a smile, “You’ve worked hard this past month, sis. Eat well and replenish your energy.”
Ye Qinglan laughed lightly. “Alright.”
She scooped up a spoonful of soup, blew on it, and took a sip.
Truth be told, Ning Yunshu’s cooking suited her tastes perfectly or rather, she simply loved the meals Ning Yunshu prepared.
During the month-long training camp, though the cafeteria food wasn’t bad, it just couldn’t compare to this flavor.
So even when she was exhausted from training, she hadn’t eaten with much appetite.
But now that she was back, indulging in the food she had missed so much, she ended up eating a little too much.
After dinner, Ning Yunshu went to wash the dishes while Ye Qinglan rubbed her stomach with a slightly troubled expression.
When Ning Yunshu came out and saw this, she couldn’t help but approach curiously. “What’s wrong, sis? Did the food upset your stomach?”
Ye Qinglan gave her a faintly accusing look, this was the culprit who had made her overeat.
“No, not that.”
“Huh? Then what?” Ning Yunshu was confused, her face full of concern.
Seeing her like this, Ye Qinglan softened and sighed. “I just ate a bit too much, that’s all. Don’t overthink it.”
Ning Yunshu blinked, then couldn’t hold back a giggle.
Ye Qinglan immediately glared at her. “What’s so funny?”
Ning Yunshu quickly stifled her laughter. “Nothing. You’ve been working hard at training, and the cafeteria food didn’t suit you, so of course you’d want to eat more now that you’re home. It’s fine. Actually, it’s my fault, I made too much today. I’ll cook less tomorrow.”
Hearing her take all the blame, Ye Qinglan felt a little embarrassed.
“It’s not that. It’s not your fault, I’m the one who overate.”
Ning Yunshu smiled, her eyes curving. “Then, do you want to do something to help digest?”
Ye Qinglan glanced at her. “Like what?”
Ning Yunshu thought for a moment. “How about going for a walk?”
Ye Qinglan looked at her seriously. “If I go out now and someone spots me, it’ll end up online again.”
Ning Yunshu scratched her head. “Ah, I forgot. People here are really into that kind of thing.”
Ye Qinglan sighed. “Never mind. It’s fine, I’m not going out tomorrow anyway. I’ll just stay up a little later tonight.”
“Okay,” Ning Yunshu replied obediently.
Watching her like this, Ye Qinglan always felt the urge to pat her head, but she restrained herself and said, “Go do your own thing. I’ll play some games for a while.”
“Sis.” Ning Yunshu suddenly called out.
“Hmm?” Ye Qinglan responded absentmindedly while starting up the game on her phone.
“Can you take me along? I want to play too.” Ning Yunshu looked at her with puppy-dog eyes.
Ye Qinglan paused for a moment before glancing at her. “Fine, but don’t expect me to babysit you.”
Ning Yunshu immediately beamed. “Deal!”
She quickly sat beside her, fired up the game on her phone, and stared eagerly at Ye Qinglan.
With an inward sigh, Ye Qinglan still invited her into her squad, adding, “If you can’t keep up, stick close to me and don’t wander off.”
“Got it!” Ning Yunshu chirped.
As soon as the game started, Ye Qinglan headed straight for the urban zone. Ning Yunshu stuck close, parachuting down with her, only separating at the last moment to land in the adjacent building.
The urban area was crowded. Ye Qinglan immediately began scavenging for supplies to arm herself quickly. But before she could gather much, she heard multiple footsteps nearby. She ducked into a corner, preparing to ambush the approaching players.
Just as she hid, gunfire erupted outside her building. Curious, she waited until the shots ceased only to freeze when she checked the kill feed.
The left-side notification board showed that someone had wiped out an entire squad.
And that someone was Ning Yunshu, who was sitting right across from her.
Ye Qinglan couldn’t help but glance up at Ning Yunshu, who was now wearing a focused expression. Then she heard her ask, “Sis, are you inside? I’ll bring you some supplies.”
Ye Qinglan hesitated before replying, “I’m here.”
Looking back at her screen, she saw a fully geared Ning Yunshu sprint over and dump a pile of equipment at her feet guns, ammo, attachments, even a level-three helmet and a 4x scope.
Watching the items clatter down, Ye Qinglan was stunned.
“There’s more ammo in the bag downstairs. I couldn’t carry it all. Want to check it out?” Ning Yunshu added.
Dazed, Ye Qinglan muttered an agreement.
And just like that, Ning Yunshu led the charge, wiping out every opponent in the city while Ye Qinglan trailed behind, loaded with loot.
From start to finish, Ye Qinglan barely did anything except land a few finishing blows. She simply followed as Ning Yunshu systematically eliminated every threat.
Wait a minute, wasn’t she supposed to be carrying Ning Yunshu? How did their roles reverse?!
Baffled, she watched as they bulldozed through the competition, unstoppable, all the way to victory.
After the match, Ning Yunshu bounded over for praise. “Sis, sis! How was I?!”
Her eyes sparkled, her invisible tail practically wagging as she awaited the verdict.
“Impressive,” Ye Qinglan admitted, then hesitated. “Have you played this before?”
“Nope!” Ning Yunshu’s grin widened at the compliment.
What?! She’d never played before yet dominated the entire match like that?
This… this was just ridiculous!
Ning Yunshu then asked, “Sister, do you want to keep playing?”
Ye Qinglan pondered for a moment before quickly making up her mind.
“Let’s go!”
Kidding, if she turned down a free, high-tier teammate like this, she’d have to be an idiot!
