The Lost Omega Heiress is Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 27.1
Gland Repair Surgery.
Neither of them slept soundly that night.
As dawn broke, Shi Anzhi heard a series of deliberately hushed rustling sounds.
She opened her eyes to see Shen Tingxue sitting on the other side of the bed, her back turned as she slowly removed her nightgown.
The morning light streamed through the floor-to-ceiling window, casting a soft glow on Shen Tingxue’s pale skin. The crisscrossing red marks on her back hadn’t completely faded, and her gland remained slightly swollen and red.
The evidence of their intimacy was still vividly apparent.
Shi Anzhi stared in a daze. For a moment, she felt as if they were a couple who had been in love for many years, enjoying an ordinary morning together.
Seemingly aware of her gaze, Shen Tingxue paused briefly before turning to face her.
Their eyes met, the air still tinged with the lingering warmth from the previous night, creating a subtle atmosphere.
Shen Tingxue showed no shyness and began putting on her bra directly in front of Shi Anzhi.
“Did I wake you?”
“No.”
Shi Anzhi responded briefly, averting her eyes as she sat up.
Shen Tingxue started selecting clothes from the wardrobe. Since she had to go to the company today, she chose a satin white blouse paired with suit pants, layered under a double-breasted oversized trench coat. She wore no accessories, opting for a simple and efficient look.
After getting ready, Shen Tingxue turned back and noticed Shi Anzhi still sitting in the same position, seemingly lost in thought. She leaned down to ask for a morning kiss.
Snapping out of her daze, Shi Anzhi slightly turned her head away. Shen Tingxue, as if anticipating this reaction, followed her movement, and ultimately their lips still brushed against each other.
Shi Anzhi froze in surprise, while Shen Tingxue laughed delightedly.
Last night, Shi Anzhi had been so determined to jump out of the car Shen Tingxue absolutely wouldn’t allow anything like that to happen again. Back in District R, Shi Anzhi could never resist her acting cute or tears.
She could only hope those tactics would still work.
“Alright, don’t be angry anymore. I was wrong yesterday. After I finish this busy period, I’ll take you out for a fancy meal, okay?”
“I promise it’ll be even better than our time at the rotating restaurant.”
Shi Anzhi looked into Shen Tingxue’s tea-colored eyes without responding yes or no.
When Shen Tingxue wanted to coax someone, she could be very patient. She summoned Xiao Yu.
A holographic image materialized, Xiao Yu smiling.
[Miss, I’m here.]
Shen Tingxue said, “Please load Anzhi’s voiceprint and iris information, registering her as a secondary administrator in the system. Grant her access to all areas of the estate, including permissions to use you.”
Shi Anzhi glanced at Xiao Yu, then turned her gaze to Shen Tingxue upon hearing this.
Meeting her eyes, Shen Tingxue spoke softly, calling her name, “Anzhi, from now on, you can tell Xiao Yu directly whatever you need. She’ll fulfill all your requests buying things, entertainment, contacting friends in District R, it’s all possible.”She looked at Shi Anzhi, adopting a humble posture with a flattering tone, ‘Are you a little less angry now?”Seeing Shen Tingxue deliberately trying to win her over, Shi Anzhi felt a wave of frustration blocking her chest. Shen Tingxue’s way of making amends was always through physical intimacy or material offerings, but she absolutely refused to open up emotionally.
She wanted to remind Shen Tingxue what she truly cared about, “Why are you going out so early?”
“Hmm?”
Shen Tingxue hadn’t expected Shi Anzhi to suddenly ask this.
When it came to explaining her own circumstances, Shen Tingxue never felt comfortable, responding briefly, “Going to the company.”
They weren’t truly reconciled yet. Shen Tingxue feared a simple answer would make Shi Anzhi feel dismissed, so she reluctantly added, “I’m going to the company first, my father will be there too. In the afternoon, I’ll visit the laboratory. If everything goes smoothly, I’ll return by evening. How about we have dinner together then?”
Shen Tingxue thought she had provided enough detail, but Shi Anzhi found it distant.
“What exactly do you do there? What are you researching?” Shi Anzhi asked what concerned her most. “Is it dangerous?”
After a moment’s thought, she said, “I’ll go with you.”
“No.”
Without hesitation, Shen Tingxue immediately refused, her tone turning cold and rigid.
The atmosphere began to deteriorate again. Realizing this, Shen Tingxue wanted to explain.
But Shi Anzhi showed no anger, as if she had expected this outcome. She let out a knowing laugh, though it carried a chill.
Shen Tingxue grew flustered. “Anzhi.”
“It’s fine, go ahead,” Shi Anzhi said coldly. “Aren’t you in a hurry to leave? No need to say anything more.”
Shen Tingxue glanced at the time. Today was her first board meeting since her disappearance, and the occasion was important. She forced a smile at Shi Anzhi, pretending all conflicts had vanished. “I’ll head out then. Xiao Yu will take care of you in my place.”
Shi Anzhi watched Shen Tingxue hurry away.
As the door closed, the pleasant scent of pear in the air faded significantly.
Shi Anzhi sat quietly for a while, sensing the pheromones in the air growing increasingly faint, then got out of bed.
She surveyed the oppressively luxurious room, enveloped by an inexplicable sense of suffocation. She had no idea what Shen Tingxue was busy with every day, what kind of place her laboratory was, or what Shen Tingxue’s future plans entailed.
Back in District R, everything had been simple. They just wanted to run their fruit shop well, earn a little more money, and live a comfortable life. If anyone threatened that life, they would face it together and eliminate the enemy.
But now, Shen Tingxue didn’t trust her in the slightest, treating her like a caged canary sometimes toying with her, sometimes coaxing her.
Shi Anzhi called out to the air, “Xiao Yu?”
[Good morning, Miss Shi.]
The half-body hologram instantly materialized before her, its face still wearing a programmed smile.
This was Shi Anzhi’s first time interacting with the smart butler. After a moment’s thought, she asked, “Where is your owner’s laboratory?”
Xiao Yu blinked.
[I’m sorry, Miss Shi. That information is classified as Level 1 confidentiality. Xiao Yu is not authorized to disclose it.]
Shi Anzhi rephrased her question. “What does the Shen family’s laboratory generally research?”
[I’m sorry, Miss Shi. That information is classified as the Shen Corporation’s highest-level secret. Xiao Yu is not authorized to disclose it.]
Xiao Yu’s face still wore a smile, but its virtual eyes held no warmth.
Shi Anzhi lowered her eyelashes self-mockingly and stopped pressing for information related to Shen Tingxue.
She walked to the walk-in closet, where over a dozen outfits Xiao Yu had previously helped print were already displayed in the wardrobe.
After a quick glance, Shi Anzhi randomly selected an outfit similar to what she often wore in District R, a simple smoke-gray turtleneck long-sleeve paired with cargo pants.
As she reached out to touch the fabric, Shi Anzhi realized the material was unlike anything she had encountered before. It felt as soft as skin, devoid of unnecessary decorations. Under shifting light, subtle snake-scale patterns emerged on the fabric, exuding a strong sense of technological sophistication.
After putting it on, the fit was snug. The high collar perfectly concealed the ambiguous kiss marks on her neck, while the lines of her shoulders and back, shaped by long-term training, were elegantly accentuated.
The cargo pants were ten times more comfortable than the ones she had bought in R District. With their three-dimensional tailoring, they made her legs appear even longer, and there were multiple hidden zippered pockets on both sides.
Finally, she slipped on the boots. Shi Anzhi adjusted the laces in front of the mirror and noticed that the toe and ankle areas were embedded with protective plates, making each step feel light yet powerful.
Just as she was marveling at this, Xiao Yu’s voice chimed in.
[Miss Shi, this outfit is the optimal combat suit and is quite expensive. Its snake-scale patterned texture can absorb over 60% of blunt force impact, and the fabric surface is coated with a micro-color-shifting layer that automatically adjusts to darker shades in low-light environments, providing an effect similar to optical camouflage.]
[The pants are made of military-grade composite material highly elastic on the inside and scratch-resistant on the outside. The boot soles incorporate Tianheng Industry’s latest kinetic feedback technology, significantly enhancing your instantaneous burst speed and jumping height.]
[You look really good in this outfit. Would you like me to take a photo and send it to Miss for a look?]
This was the first time Shi Anzhi had heard Xiao Yu speak such a long string of words.
After listening, the heaviness in her heart lightened slightly.
Shen Tingxue wasn’t always harsh toward her and hadn’t treated her too badly. Perhaps it was precisely this mix of kindness and indifference that made it hard for her to leave.
If only Shen Tingxue could be as open and communicative as Xiao Yu about everything.
Shi Anzhi shook her head. “No need.”
Such clingy behavior, constantly reporting and flirting, wasn’t suitable for them just yet.
[Understood.]
After changing, Shi Anzhi went to the dining room for breakfast.
By the time she arrived, breakfast was already laid out on the table. In the distance, she caught a glimpse of a retreating figure wearing an apron.
Xiao Yu’s voice sounded again.
[Miss doesn’t like having people around the house. The staff leave after finishing their work to maintain quiet.]
Perhaps Shen Tingxue had set a specific mode, as Xiao Yu was particularly chatty today, explaining how to use many of the household devices.
Shi Anzhi responded politely, engaging in a casual back-and-forth with the intelligent housekeeper.
After the meal, Xiao Yu opened another screen and smiled at Shi Anzhi.
[Miss Shi, there’s an unknown communication request from R District. Miss has already permitted it. Shall I connect?]
Pondering the meaning behind “Miss has already permitted,” Shi Anzhi’s expression grew serious as she chose to accept.
A familiar holographic projection soon appeared before her.
“Well, well, Shi Anzhi.”
Teng Ying’s hologram was somewhat unstable, speckled with the signal interference static typical of R District. She held a slender women’s cigarette between her lips, leaning back in her surgical chair.
After the connection was established, she scrutinized Shi Anzhi and remarked curiously, “Why is your background completely void? I can’t see anything except you.”
Shi Anzhi glanced at Xiao Yu, silently questioning.
Xiao Yu replied via a soundwave only they could hear, Apologies, to protect the Shen family’s information security, the background cannot be displayed.
Shi Anzhi turned back to the screen and changed the subject. “How did you manage to contact me this way?”
“Why wouldn’t I be able to? Don’t underestimate me.”
