The Lost Omega Heiress is Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 24.1
Her heart turned cold.
Shi Anzhi could hear Shen Tingxue’s voice but couldn’t see her face.
She lifted her head and scanned the bedroom. Could it be that Shen Tingxue had been able to see her all along?
The one-sided gaze made her tense.
“Where did you go?” she asked first.
As the words left her mouth, she noticed her voice was somewhat hoarse. Along with the question, she couldn’t help but utter that address, “Ah Xue.”
“Have you been watching me all this time?”
Shen Tingxue gazed at Shi Anzhi’s face. She had never been accustomed to revealing her whereabouts to others. Recalling their days in the slums, Shi Anzhi would proactively report her schedule, and later, there was no need because wherever Shi Anzhi went, she would follow.
So clingy. Shen Tingxue could hardly imagine herself ever being like that.
Seeing the vulnerability on Shi Anzhi’s face, she confessed, “I’m in the laboratory.”
“Oh!”
Shi Anzhi nodded. “Can I see you? How do I do that?”
She wasn’t sure how far the technology in the special zone had developed. Since Shen Tingxue could see her, perhaps she could see Shen Tingxue too.
Hearing this, Shen Tingxue chuckled. She glanced around the laboratory in the distance, several Alpha test subjects were immersed in chemical solutions. It wouldn’t be appropriate to let Shi Anzhi see that.
But she was quite pleased by how attached Shi Anzhi was to her.
“It’s not convenient.”
Upon hearing this, Shi Anzhi’s heart twisted uncomfortably.
At that moment, a soft chime sounded from the smart delivery port in the walk-in closet. A clothing box, carried on a metal tray, slid out.
Shi Anzhi glanced at it, it was the same set of black clothing that had struck her as odd.
Shen Tingxue’s voice came through, this time tinged with a hint of amusement. “So fast. Go on, try it on.”
Shi Anzhi resisted. “I don’t like this kind of clothing.”
Shen Tingxue softened her tone, coaxing Shi Anzhi to do what she wanted. “But I really like it.”
Shi Anzhi fell silent.
Observing Shi Anzhi’s expression, Shen Tingxue continued, “Remember that time I wore your shirt? You really liked it that night.”
Her voice was laden with seduction as she tempted, “Can’t you wear it for me now, just for me?”
This was the first time Shen Tingxue had ever done something like this in the laboratory. A thrill surged within her. It was common for wealthy circles to keep playthings, some even bringing them into public view something Shen Tingxue had always looked down upon.
But now, teasing Shi Anzhi in this solemn, dangerous place, she realized how much fun it could be.
Shi Anzhi pressed her lips together, surprised that Shen Tingxue would bring up that night.
Shen Tingxue remembered. So perhaps Nian Xue hadn’t disappeared after all.
Steeling herself, she walked toward the clothing box.
As she began to undress, halfway through, she remembered that Shen Tingxue might still be watching. Her movements paused.
Shen Tingxue had indeed been watching all along, eagerly anticipating what would come next. She knew what Shi Anzhi was thinking and smiled. “Why so shy?”
“It’s not like I haven’t seen you before.”
That was true, but Shi Anzhi couldn’t see Shen Tingxue now, only she was being watched.
She felt uneasy but couldn’t quite pinpoint why.
In the end, Shi Anzhi took everything off.
She moved with a hint of haste as she reached for the clothes. The black silk shirt felt cool and slick against her skin, its neckline cut so low that it exposed the sharp lines of her collarbones without reserve, while the curve of her chest was faintly visible.
Shen Tingxue watched without blinking.
This was the first time she had seen Shi Anzhi’s body in such a manner clearer than ever before. The wound on Shi Anzhi’s abdomen was still there, a fresh scar marked her left arm, and numerous fine scratches traced her thighs.
A body like this, engaged in such acts carried a fragmented beauty, as if ravaged.
Shen Tingxue’s thoughts drifted, her admiration tinged with a pang of heartache.
Did Shi Anzhi really bear so many wounds? They had been together many times, and more often than not, Shi Anzhi hadn’t fully undressed. During her heats, they had been unrestrained, but back then, Shen Tingxue had been too consumed by her own discomfort to truly look.
Of those wounds, Shen Tingxue only knew of the ones from the boxing match and the injuries inflicted by Ding Sha. The origins of many older scars remained a mystery.
Shi Anzhi had never volunteered to explain.
Shi Anzhi pulled on the form-fitting leather shorts that ended high on her thighs, then knelt on one knee to lace up the black military-style boots, tightening each strap meticulously, as if binding herself in silence.
She felt unsettled.
Shen Tingxue activated the system, summoning a mirror so Shi Anzhi could see her current appearance.
Though Shi Anzhi had already glimpsed the holographic projection and knew roughly what to expect, the sensation of actually wearing the outfit and facing her unfamiliar reflection was entirely different.
So alien.
Her eyes in the mirror looked lost, the clothes clinging tightly to her figure, exuding an aura of desire and restraint.
It dawned on her why she felt so uncomfortable.
Just then, Shen Tingxue’s voice broke through her thoughts, saying, “You look beautiful.”
“Anzhi, come with me to a banquet. It’s been so long since we’ve been to the Special Zone, and I’ve yet to take you out.”
In an instant, her attention shifted. Shi Anzhi pushed her discomfort aside and asked, “Where to?”
“How are we getting there?”
She hadn’t left the Shen family’s rooms until now.
A beat later, Shi Anzhi remembered something more important. “Am I going out dressed like this?”
“Mm.”
Shen Tingxue lightly traced the face on the screen with her left hand, a faint itch in her heart. “I’ll drive us. I don’t think you’ve ever ridden in my car before.”
“I’ll pick you up in fifteen minutes.”
With that, Shen Tingxue ended the communication and headed toward the parking area.
The gathering had been arranged for her sake, how could she not go? They wanted to see her humiliated, but she would use this opportunity to send a message to the outside world: Shen Tingxue was back, unscathed, and even had the leisure for other pursuits.
“Am I really going out like this?”
Shi Anzhi frowned. She had assumed this was just for private moments at home, an intimate game between the two of them.
But Shen Tingxue’s voice did not return.
Xiao Yu was nowhere to be seen either.
Hesitantly, Shi Anzhi called out into the air, “Ah Xue?”
No answer.
“Xiao Yu?”
Still no response. She still didn’t know how to summon the smart housekeeper, and the delivery chute hadn’t provided any new clothes.
Shi Anzhi left the bedroom, descended the stairs, crossed the garden, and walked toward the main gate.
After a while, an aircraft descended from the sky, landing steadily on the front courtyard. Shen Tingxue stepped down the ladder.
Seeing Shi Anzhi dressed and waiting for her, she felt exceptionally pleased, yet reminded herself not to get too carried away.
After all, Shi Anzhi would leave sooner or later, wouldn’t she?
In the call with Teng Ying, Shi Anzhi had asked if she could still go back. Her decision to stay now had at least something to do with being pursued by Ding Sha’s remaining forces.
No one would stay with her forever.
At that moment, Shi Anzhi seemed a bit uneasy, feeling awkward and out of place in such attire. She avoided Shen Tingxue’s gaze.
Shen Tingxue noticed and walked up to her. “Don’t be nervous,” she said.
As she spoke, her fingertip traced Shi Anzhi’s exposed collarbone, sending a shiver through her.
“You look lovely.”
As if performing magic, Shen Tingxue pulled a necklace from her trench coat pocket, showing it to Shi Anzhi. The silver, shimmering necklace matched the chain on Shi Anzhi’s shirt cuff perfectly.
Then, Shen Tingxue moved behind Shi Anzhi and fastened the necklace around her neck.
The cold metal touched the nape of Shi Anzhi’s neck, right over her gland, making her flinch.
With a soft click, the necklace locked into place.
Shen Tingxue’s warm breath brushed against Shi Anzhi’s sensitive ear. “A gift for you. So beautiful.”
The words made Shi Anzhi’s heart race partly with joy, partly with confusion. Shen Tingxue giving her a gift and complimenting her beauty reminded her of how Nian Xue had once praised her looks, but this felt different somehow.
The atmosphere was pleasant, the best it had been since they arrived in the Special Zone. Shi Anzhi didn’t want to ruin the intimacy of the moment, so she suppressed her other emotions.
“Thank you,” she said.
Shen Tingxue led Shi Anzhi to the garage and into a hovering sports car, seating her in the passenger seat.
Shi Anzhi asked, “Where are we going?”
“Taking you to dinner and introducing you to some friends, alright?”
Casually, Shen Tingxue added, “What do you like to eat?”
Shi Anzhi was genuinely hungry by then. “Is this outfit appropriate for meeting friends?”
Shen Tingxue glanced over. “It’s fine. Everyone dresses like this.”
Was it some kind of costume party? Shi Anzhi wondered, but Shen Tingxue’s attire, a sharp trench coat was quite different from her own style.
Rarely having a moment of relaxation, she tried to push her doubts aside.
They arrived at the gathering spot by aircraft. When they stepped out, the parking area was already filled with sports cars, aircraft, and even hovering motorcycles.
This was a private club in the Special Zone, built underground. Entering felt like navigating a maze, and Shi Anzhi followed closely behind Shen Tingxue. A metal door scanned Shen Tingxue’s face and slowly opened, closing again after they entered. The temperature inside was over ten degrees colder than outside, giving off an eerie vibe.
After passing through a soundproof wall and another set of glass doors, they stepped indoors.
In an instant, Shi Anzhi was overwhelmed by the sight before her, almost breathless.
Underground, there was a garden and a swimming pool. The air was filled with fragrance, and many elegantly dressed guests were engaged in conversation. Nearly every guest was accompanied by one or several beautiful, submissive companions.
These individuals resembled exquisite pets, casually held, embraced, and kissed by their owners.
Shi Anzhi could quickly distinguish between honored guests and pets not only by their expressions, movements, and postures but also because the difference was glaringly obvious, the pets wore varying degrees of revealing clothing. In this frigid underground, only those stripped of power would dress this way.
Looking down at her own attire, Shi Anzhi felt a surge of intense disappointment toward Shen Tingxue for the first time.
What did this mean?
She had always tried to view things optimistically, but the stark reality before her made it impossible to deceive herself any longer. She wanted to ask Shen Tingxue what was going on, but Shen Tingxue wasn’t looking at her.
After they entered, many eyes in the room turned toward them.
“Tingxue! You’re finally here!”
A beautiful woman in a vibrant pink gown immediately approached with a smile. She was Yu Yiyang, the eldest daughter of the Yu family.
Shen Tingxue responded with a polite smile and handed over the prepared gift. “Yiyang, happy birthday.”
“Thank you.”
