The Little Jealous Cat Who Transmigrated into a Delicate Beauty - Chapter 7
The old fellow’s head was nearly broken from kowtowing. Having waited a long time without the Cat King lashing out, it subconsciously glanced out of the corner of its eye upon hearing the Great King mention a “fox.”
Ye Qingqing’s brow was furrowed into a tight knot. Her whiskers, like fine fish bones, bristled upward, downward, left, and right, and she occasionally opened her mouth to reveal two sharp canine teeth.
The Tmall Teacher was very curious: what kind of fox could make the King this angry?
It took a careful look at the memory screen, and the entire cat was stunned.
This wasn’t a fox; this was a total vixen!
Thinking back to the past, its precious granddaughter, the cow-cat Xixi, had been bewitched by this very human spirit. Xixi had abandoned a perfectly good future to become someone’s pet cat and after becoming a pet, she had even ended up as a submissive little “uke” cat!
The old fellow had held this grudge in its heart for a long time with no way to vent. At this moment, it couldn’t care less about deathbed instructions; wicked ideas started popping out of its head one after another.
It gave a heavy cough, successfully catching the Cat King’s attention.
Ye Qingqing narrowed her eyes, looking down from her high position at the black mass of a living thing before her.
“That tawdry fox do you recognize her?”
The Tmall Teacher fell to its knees with a thud.
“Reporting to the Great King! This old one… recognizes her!”
The old fellow intentionally dragged out its tone to pull the Cat King’s emotions to the absolute limit.
Sure enough, it got its wish.
In the emotion-detection mechanism, the Cat King’s eyes were wide with rage, looking as though she couldn’t wait to know the truth.
The old fellow’s long whiskers curled upward as it spoke every word with strength.
“Great King, this person is named Qian Xiaoju. She is the Little Mistress’s colleague, and also one of the Little Mistress’s admirers!”
Retracting its cat body, it retrieved every bit of interaction between the Cat Mistress and Qian Xiaoju from its internal programming. Its O-shaped mouth opened and closed, speaking at a rapid-fire pace.
“October 22, 2022, at 6:38 PM, she dragged the Little Mistress to Xiyuan Noodle House to eat a bowl of wontons. During that time, she used her thumb to wipe a cilantro leaf from the corner of her mouth; the movement was extremely intimate. October 23, 2022, at 7:56 PM…”
The Tmall Teacher added fuel to the fire as it recited the list. With new and old grudges being avenged simultaneously, it was overjoyed. However, due to running for such a long time, its electronic voice inevitably lagged, forcing it to stop for a moment to buffer.
Ye Qingqing stared unblinkingly at the other’s O-shaped mouth, struggling to understand every rare word coming out of it. After a long while, her cat lips parted slightly, and she let out a faint meow.
“What is an ‘admirer’?”
Tmall Teacher: !!!
Just then, on the blue memory panel, Qian Xiaoju’s long, slender, white hands once again cupped the Cat Mistress’s beautiful face, squishing it toward the center bit by bit.
“Sister Xiaoju, you’re bullying me again!”
Susu’s face was squeezed out of shape. Her voice was soft, and her eyes held a glimmer like a clear spring.
Ye Qingqing’s cat body went stiff. Her nose pointed toward the sky, so angry she couldn’t even make a sound.
The Tmall Teacher’s plastic frame shook three times, its electronic voice high and crisp.
“Reporting to the Great King, an ‘admirer’ is exactly this!”
The sun was high and the heat was like fire. There wasn’t a single cloud in the azure sky. In the quiet air, a tragic “Waa-woo” howl erupted like a mountain collapsing or the earth splitting. That tiny human was finally marked down in the “little black book” of the mighty and powerful Cat King.
In the memory panel, Qian Xiaoju who had just finished bullying Susu and was headed back to her seat suddenly let out a huge sneeze.
She reached over to the neighboring workstation, pulled out a tissue, and gave a loud “Hmph-chi” into her itchy nostrils.
“It must be some stray cat somewhere secretly talking bad about me!”
A male colleague behind her chased after her, shouting, “Sister Ju, remember to take medicine if you have a cold! Don’t give up on treatment!”
Qian Xiaoju crumpled the snot-filled tissue into a ball and tossed it behind her. The male colleague dodged, and the paper ball grazed the top of his thinning hair before falling straight into the nearby trash can.
Sister Ju turned back, looked at the guy, and quirked an eyebrow.
“Hah, it’s fine, no big deal!”
She threw another flying kiss toward Susu.
Susu smiled faintly at her departing back and shook her head helplessly, her peach-blossom eyes rippling like water and her lips showing small dimples.
The Cat King was furious. With one swipe of a paw, the memory panel went black.
“Self-inflicted trouble is the hardest to bear!”
The Tmall Teacher used every skill it had but still couldn’t restore the interrupted images. Ye Qingqing’s eyeballs bulged, and her sharp, jagged teeth bared all the way to the back of her head.
The Cat Mistress, who had been working hard to find answers behind the screen, was now completely exhausted. Her brain felt like it was tearing apart from the pain, and even her vision became blurred.
She closed her laptop, grabbed a handful of expired medicine from her drawer, swallowed them with half a bottle of cold water from the desk, and walked with floating steps toward the bed to rest.
Her swollen head hit the pillow. There was still the lingering milky scent of that cat in the blankets. She pinched the corner of the quilt and sniffed it deeply as her clear consciousness gradually turned hazy.
“Meow~”
In her dream, Susu seemed to see what the cat looked like when it was a kitten.
Outside the partition room, she was opening the door with her keys. The cat was on the other side of the wooden wall, meowing joyfully and scratching at the door.
The room door opened, and the kitten bounced around in front of her, biting the hem of her trousers.
“My little baby, guess what little gift Big Sister brought you?”
“Meow~”
She placed the cat canned food from the shopping bag onto the floor, squatted down, and stroked her long fingers along its back.
“The ancients said, ‘One day apart feels like three autumns.’ Did you miss Big Sister that much?”
“Meow~”
The little darling responded while tugging her pant leg toward the bed, its short tail wagging left and right.
“Oh, pulling Big Sister so urgently is there some treasure hidden in the bed?”
Ignored. It continued to tug, wagging its tail and meowing in its throat, looking as if it were about to speak human words.
Following its wishes to the bedside, the little fellow gave a cat-pounce and lunged onto the bed, sliding into the covers.
“Is my little darling in such a hurry to roll around in the blankets with Big Sister?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, a thick, short furry tail poked out from the other side of the gap. Then, a little butt followed, and slowly, the entire body backed out.
Thinking it was playing hide-and-seek, she didn’t pay much attention.
The little fellow turned around, trotted over, and dropped a dead cockroach it had bitten to death right before her eyes. It tilted its head up, meowing excitedly.
Susu’s cerebral cortex went blank for a second. Seeing her stunned, the kitten wagged its short tail even more happily; its forehead clearly seemed to display two large words: “Praise me!”
Only then did she realize that the night before, when that big cockroach had escaped, the cat had licked her forehead and meowed.
It turned out that for this entire day, it had been working hard to catch the cockroach to repay the human’s life-saving grace, to please its mistress, and to prove its own value…
Her heart was warmed by this, bit by bit, without her even realizing it.
She rubbed the cat’s head in her palm, using words only humans could understand to encourage it.
“So good! My Qin-Qin is so good!”
“Meow~”
The response was still a soft, adorable meow.
After cleaning up the cockroach corpse, the sheets and duvet cover were tossed into the washing machine together.
picked the cat up onto the computer desk to check its wound. When the gauze was peeled away, what was exposed was a bloody, raw wound.
The pair of hands resting on the cat suddenly froze. That heart, which had been pressed under a snowy mountain for years, felt as if it had been stabbed by a flaming blade. The blood that had been sealed in cold ice began to melt and overflow bit by bit along the burning tip of the blade…
A few seconds later, teardrops the size of beans broke free from her eyes and fell uncontrollably. With a pata sound, they splashed onto that furry head.
Just when she was so sad she couldn’t contain herself, a distant and strange scolding voice suddenly reached her ears:
“Stop… crying… My… fur… is all… getting… soaked… by you!”
