- The Little Jealous Cat Who Transmigrated into a Delicate Beauty
- Chapter 6 - Territory
“G-Great King…”
The Cat King’s sense of territory was extremely strong. She felt that such a beautiful scene just now should not have appeared in the visual field of any other cat.
Ye Qingqing rolled her eyes at the stuttering Teacher SkyCat: You old fogey, what’s wrong with this King blocking your view!
The old fellow read the response within the detection mechanism and tactfully shut its cat mouth.
In the blue memory frames, the cat owner had wrapped herself back in a bath towel. She held the kitten in her arms, cradling its head upside down and gently rubbing it.
“What’s wrong, Qinqin? Do you not want to sleep in the cat bed alone? How about sleeping in the bed with big sister?”
“Meow~”
Little Qinqin seemed able to understand human speech; its timely response instantly melted the owner’s young heart. She cupped the tiny ball of fur in her hands, lowered her head, and frantically kissed its neck.
Ye Qingqing felt as if the fur all over her body was about to explode. Her tail bristled like a flower, her “airplane ears” were pressed flat, and a low, threatening growl vibrated in her throat.
Teacher SkyCat, whose eyes were still being blocked: What is happening? To make the Great King so alarmed!
He executed his emotion detection mechanism once more.
Bold human! How dare you use your mouth on this King? Be careful, or this King will eat you!
Teacher SkyCat: Use her mouth? The little owner is already… e-eating… the King?
Susu transferred the kitten into her blankets and freed her arms to go blow-dry her hair.
“Meow~”
Qinqin’s two paws tightly gripped her left hand, refusing to let go.
The sound of the water earlier had terrified it. It wanted to protect its owner; it couldn’t let her suffer any harm.
Susu let out a helpless yet amused sigh.
“You really are a clingy little kitty!”
She slowly nudged her fingers out from under its paws and rubbed its head upside down twice more.
“Be good, listen to me!”
Qinqin gazed at its owner with longing eyes but did not struggle again.
Once Susu left, it quickly scrambled out of the blankets and tumbled onto the floor with a thud. The pain from its wound tugged at its body, leaving it half-sprawled on the ground. But for the sake of its owner, the little fellow eventually stood up sturdily and followed after her with dogged persistence.
Fortunately, the bathroom door was open this time.
Susu was combing her hair in front of the mirror. She had a graceful figure and elegant movements. Because she was in a good mood, even her pair of dark peach-blossom eyes shimmered like ripples on water.
Qinqin’s two cat eyes stared, watching as if entranced. She picked up the hair dryer and lightly pressed the switch. With a whoosh sound, the kitten practically bounced off the floor.
Its reaction was so violent that even a cat with a strong mental constitution like Ye Qingqing gave a start.
She tucked away her bristled tail and let out a “wah-oo” toward Teacher SkyCat.
“What kind of secret weapon is that?”
Teacher SkyCat blinked his O-shaped eyes and quickly adapted to the surroundings.
“Reporting to the Great King, that is a human hair dryer. It’s used for drying fur; it actually has no real power!”
Ye Qingqing narrowed her eyes at the machine being waved in the cat owner’s hand: Humph, what’s so great about a hair dryer? This King has always licked herself clean!
Teacher SkyCat: “…”
Because she was anxious to hold her kitten, Susu only blew her hair until it was half-dry before coming out. Seeing little Qinqin crouching at the door, she couldn’t help but pick it up to play again.
“My little baby, can’t you bear to leave big sister for even a second?”
The cat owner’s hair emitted a faint minty scent from the shampoo, and her body carried a unique, fresh fragrance. Qinqin sniffed the scent in her arms, and the stinging pain of its wound eased significantly.
Man and cat snuggled together in the warm blankets. Susu, who suffered from chronic insomnia, unexpectedly fell into a peaceful sleep.
The next morning, Susu was awakened by her alarm clock. She looked at her phone with sleepy eyes.
A cat’s sleep is very light; as soon as she moved, Qinqin woke up too.
“Meow~”
This single meow effectively banished every bit of her usual morning grumpiness.
She lay in the blankets, cradling her kitten and showering it with affection.
“Qinqin, my little baby, how can you be so cute! Come, let big sister give you another kiss, mwah~”
To think she had been a “cold-hearted passerby” just the night before!
Ye Qingqing was awakened by the smacking sounds of intimacy between the human and the cat.
In the cool morning, the electronics park was quiet, and a thin layer of frost covered the lawn. Looking at the scene before her the warm blankets, the human and cat happily entwined the Cat King suddenly felt a sharp sense of disparity in her heart.
She swatted Teacher SkyCat, who was in sleep mode.
The old fellow reacted nimbly, his plastic body shivering three times.
“G-Great King, you are awake?”
Ye Qingqing pressed her airplane ears back, staring at him with wide, angry eyes, and let out a sharp “meow-roar.”
“You old fogey, what kind of messy, unsightly things are you transmitting? Turn it off for this King, now!”
The old fellow’s heart tightened, and he flopped onto the ground, pleading with a sobbing electronic voice.
“I cannot turn it off, Great King! The memories have only been partially transmitted. If we interrupt now, it will be equivalent to failing entirely. Great King, please reconsider!”
Ye Qingqing pointed her nose at him, unmoved.
Teacher SkyCat adjusted his plastic body and suddenly broke into “tears.”
“I am ashamed! I deserve to die!…”
Hearing this tragic electronic wailing, Ye Qingqing glanced at him sideways.
She saw the plastic LOGO transform into a pure black domestic cat, prostrate on the ground, secretly rubbing its eyes with paws dipped in saliva.
Ye Qingqing: “…”
The old fellow operated the controls while peeking at the Cat King out of the corner of his eye.
“I was entrusted by the late King to assist the Great King…”
What an old drama queen!
The Cat King snorted. Teacher SkyCat quickly checked the emotion detection mechanism.
I think you really are tired of living! Using the Queen Mother to threaten this King over and over again!
The old man’s knees went weak, and his entire body flattened against the cold ground as he kowtowed incessantly.
“G-Great King, have mercy…”
The images in the memory continued. The cat owner brushed her teeth and washed her face in one smooth motion. She prepared a cat meal for Qinqin, tidied herself up a bit, and prepared to go to the company with her laptop on her back. Before leaving, she reluctantly held her cat for a while.
Qinqin chased her to the door, meowing at its little owner.
Susu’s slender fingers reached through the crack in the door and rubbed its little head.
“Be a good baby! Big sister is going to work; I’ll come back to be with you as soon as I finish!”
“Meow~”
Qinqin raised its front paw, revealing its beautiful pink paw pads, waved at its owner, and obediently walked away.
So sensible! At that moment, Susu’s heart was completely melted by the cuteness.
She held it and played for a while longer, which resulted in her being late for work. Fortunately, a project had just gone online recently, so things weren’t very busy these past few days.
As soon as Susu sat down, a familiar female voice came drifting through the corridor, cursing and swearing.
“Holy crap, my Bug has been in heat lately. I left my backpack on the living room sofa last night, and it took a piss right on it. I thought someone had spilled Longjing tea on it; I picked it up and smelled it for the longest time. I’m seriously intoxicated!”
A colleague nearby glanced toward the source of the voice and cracked a joke.
“Sister Juhua, calm down, calm down. Maybe your cat sees that you’ve been single for too long and wants to initiate a temporary marking with you!”
The person who entered was the “goddess” of the Java group, Qian Xiaoju. She was charming in appearance with a full figure a genuine girl from the Northwest. She was naturally bold, and having spent so much time among programmers, her speech had become even more uninhibited.
The colleagues in the R&D department were used to calling her “Sister Juhua” (Chrysanthemum), and she didn’t mind at all, being outspoken and often speaking without filtering her thoughts.
“Marking my foot! It’s cold now; after I give it a bath, I have to spend half the day blow-drying its fur. It caused this old lady to be late for the eighth time this month!”
The only shy colleague nearby looked sympathetically at the “old lady” who was late for the eighth time and teased her secretly.
“Sister Juhua, I remember your cat is a female, right? Do female cats also pee everywhere when they’re in heat?”
Upon hearing this, other “professionals” were displeased and jumped in to argue.
“What’s wrong with being a female cat? Female cats have a very strong sense of territory too. My cat, blah blah blah…”
With the development of the IT industry in recent years, the pressure on programmers has increased. Since cats are healing animals that can make people feel better and slow down balding, these “closet sentimentalist” big shots almost all had a little master at home. Once they started talking about their own little lords, the guys could brag for an entire morning.
Susu rarely opened up to others, but this Sister Juhua had been quite supportive of her. As she packed her things, she listened to their chat with a shallow smile on her lips, her mind full of her own little Qinqin.
Qian Xiaoju had very sharp eyes. She rarely saw the girl smile like that. In her excitement, she plopped down next to Susu’s workstation and pinched her smooth cheek, her gaze as gentle as water.
“What are you happily smiling along for? A new spicy incense pot place opened nearby; want to go for lunch together?”
She possessed a pair of soul-capturing eyes that were exceptionally alluring when she smiled.
Ye Qingqing’s glazed yellow-green eyes stared at the screen like a snake, letting out a warning meow.
“Let go of her! Where did this hussy come from? Be careful, or this King will chop off your paws!”
