- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 87 - Bringing Someone Home
The primary reason Jiang Luoyue chose to live in the mortal realm was to avoid the constant stream of daily visitors.
Ever since that great battle, her name had become known to everyone. Furthermore, the staggering cultivation speed of her Dao companions had sparked no small amount of speculation. Many young talents—and even those who were neither young nor well-intentioned—tried their best to squeeze themselves into her “inner courtyard.” After all, from an age perspective, men like Gu Wangfeng and Yun Jian could hardly be considered “youths” anymore.
Faced with such helplessness, Jiang Luoyue chose to settle in the mortal world. Fortunately, the city was close to the Dongyue Sect and a short distance from the Song family home.
Upon hearing this news, Song Weiyuan was overjoyed. He frequently visited Jiang Luoyue, carrying gifts in hand.
“Brother Song is here again!” Fuxia cried out. Upon opening the door and seeing it was him, she skipped over, demanding a hug.
Song Weiyuan’s left hand was laden with bags of meat, while his right held food prepared by his mother. He had no hands free to lift her. Fuxia pouted, “Brother Song, can’t you just grow an extra arm?”
Song Weiyuan laughed awkwardly. “I’m only a mortal, little Divine Beast. Why don’t you let your Sister-in-law hold you instead?”
Shen Manyue couldn’t help but smile as she picked up Fuxia, kissing her soft, chubby cheeks.
“Cousin, Sister-in-law, you’ve arrived!” Jiang Luoyue greeted them happily.
“Mmhmm.” Song Weiyuan looked at the massive table crowded with people and couldn’t help but marvel, “It certainly is lively here.”
The men seated around the table shot him indifferent glances but said nothing.
It was indeed lively—a daily cycle of jealousy, schemes, and power plays. Since the world was currently at peace and there was nothing better to do, they occupied their time with these antics.
“Brother, you come all this way every day; aren’t you worried about the trouble?” Jiang Luoyue teased him with a mock-reproachful look.
“We have nothing else to do, so we enjoy the walk,” Shen Manyue replied with a gentle smile.
“I’ll come to visit Auntie more often in the future, but… well, you see how it is,” Jiang Luoyue leaned in between Song Weiyuan and Shen Manyue, whispering, “There are so many people here. No matter which one I take with me, the others will get jealous.”
Shen Manyue burst into laughter. “Then bring them all! It’s not as if they’ll eat us out of house and home.”
Jiang Luoyue still felt a bit sheepish. “But I have such a large family trailing behind me…”
Song Weiyuan hadn’t expected his cousin to be worried about such a thing and laughed heartily. “In that case, why don’t you all just work for the Song family?”
His expression turned slightly troubled as he continued, “We have to submit our offerings again next month. Due to the war, the Xiyun Sect has been collecting more resources than in previous years—likely trying to fill their depleted stores. It’s a bit of a struggle to gather it all.”
“Don’t worry about that,” Jiang Luoyue said, rubbing her chin. “Staying at home every day has been a bit dull. It’s high time we go out to find some secret realms or immortal mountains.”
“Deal. Consider this meal your payment,” Song Weiyuan said, setting out the dishes.
“Then I’m getting a bargain!” Jiang Luoyue picked up her chopsticks and began to eat, making sure to pile food onto Fuxia’s plate as well. Every time Song Weiyuan brought food, Fuxia and Wan’er ate until their little bellies were round and stuffed.
After seeing Song Weiyuan and Shen Manyue off, Jiang Luoyue decided to go for a stroll alone.
“Sister, I’ll go with you!” Jiang Luoxing called out, moving to follow her.
“No need! I’m just going for a quick flight on my sword. If I find anything good, I’ll come back immediately to get you all,” Jiang Luoyue waved him off and took to the sky.
She left behind a group of men staring blankly at one another. To be honest, staying at home was incredibly boring. As cultivators who had long since reached the Bigu (fasting) stage, they didn’t need to worry about food or warmth. Even when they craved mortal delicacies, they had plenty of local currency. Whenever they delivered goods to the Song family, they were paid in silver. With no need for labor or jobs, they had far too much free time.
Yun Jian took to painting to pass the time.
High in the air, Jiang Luoyue’s vision extended for miles. Flying at a low altitude, she could see everything on the ground clearly. Using a magical tool given to her by Yun Jian for detecting spiritual energy, she could easily spot spirit mines and rare herbs.
As she flew, she suddenly spotted a young cultivator facing off against a monstrous beast. Unlike the members of the Spirit Race, these beasts lacked sapience; they knew only slaughter and bloodshed.
Jiang Luoyue dove down to intervene.
To the young cultivator, it looked as though a goddess had descended from the heavens. With a mere flick of her finger, she slew the beast he had been unable to defeat. Covered in blood and grime, he looked a mess, but he could only stare at Jiang Luoyue in a daze.
After killing the beast, Jiang Luoyue extracted the inner core. Noting that the beast’s fangs and claws were of high quality, she pulled those out as well, thinking they might be useful for crafting spiritual tools. She handed the items to the cultivator, who looked to be about eighteen or nineteen years old—still quite green.
“Thank you, Daoist friend, for saving me. These are your trophies; I cannot accept them,” the youth stammered. Realizing it was rude to stare at a lady, he immediately lowered his head and kept his hands at his sides.
“It’s fine, just take them. You’re injured quite badly,” Jiang Luoyue said. She grabbed his wrist and pressed the items into his palm. The handful of items that had seemed large in her hand looked much smaller in the youth’s large grip.
“Thank you, Daoist…” Before he could finish, he collapsed, having finally reached his limit.
Jiang Luoyue caught him, panicking slightly. She wasn’t a medical cultivator and knew nothing of healing. Left with no choice, she hurried to carry him back home.
Back at the house, the men were going about their business, eagerly awaiting Jiang Luoyue’s return. Instead, they were greeted by the sight of her carrying a man covered in blood.
Their expressions soured instantly.
“And this is?” Yue Wenqiu asked, pointing at the youth in Jiang Luoyue’s arms.
“He was badly hurt by a beast and fainted. I couldn’t just leave him out there…” Jiang Luoyue blinked innocently. She truly had no ulterior motives.
“Leave him to me,” Li Changting said, stepping forward to take the youth from her. He felt a twinge of annoyance, but remembering how rare it was to earn Luoyue’s favor, he lowered his eyes and said nothing more.
The youth was tall, though his face still held the softness of adolescence. His injuries weren’t fatal, but as a mere Foundation Establishment cultivator, he simply couldn’t withstand a beast’s assault. Fortunately, Li Changting had no shortage of high-grade pills and began feeding them to the boy by the handful.
Lin Xi was so incensed that his teeth shifted into sharp canine fangs, a low growl vibrating in his throat.
“How is there another one?! I won’t accept it! I won’t!” Lin Xi slammed his hand on the table.
Yue Wenqiu frowned. “If Luoyue truly wants him, there is nothing we can do.”
“Stop acting so generous! Do you really think you’re the ‘Head Wife’ of this house?” Lin Xi snapped at Yue Wenqiu.
Yun Jian gave a cold snort. “Then let us make sure he knows how difficult it is to enter this door. We’ll make him retreat of his own accord.”
Meanwhile, Jiang Luoyue washed the beast parts she had collected. Since the youth had fainted before he could put them away, she set them neatly on his bedside table.
