- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 86 - Nourishing the Soul
The Immortal sects, the Fox tribe, and the Demon race worked together to clean up the battlefield before the three factions returned to their respective territories.
Li Qing’s injuries, nourished by demonic energy, had mostly healed. Yun Jian released him from his “incubator.” As the only City Lord among the four who had remained loyal, he naturally became the Demon Sovereign’s right-hand man, tasked with handling the post-war reconstruction of the Abyss.
“So, Lord Sovereign… are you returning to the Nether Abyss?” Li Qing asked, a bit uncertain.
To his surprise, the Sovereign had no intention of returning to his lonely isolation. The Demon Sovereign was going to pursue love.
The Fox tribe also had elders to handle their affairs, so Lin Xi didn’t need to worry much. Thus, Lin Xi, Yun Jian, and the other men all followed Jiang Luoyue to start a new life together.
The Ziwei Peak and the Dongyue Sect had both sent envoys to invite Jiang Luoyue to live with them, hoping to host the world’s savior. However, Jiang Luoyue had no desire to join another sect. Her men, naturally, deferred to her wishes.
Yue Wenqiu arranged the purchase of a grand estate in advance. Instead of living in the conspicuous immortal sects, they settled down in a bustling mortal city.
Yue Wenqiu hadn’t allowed himself to grieve for his father for too long. His father had wanted to be a hero, and now his dream had been realized—what could be better than that? Madame Yue had told him, “We have lived for thousands of years; we’ve lived long enough. You and Luoyue must live your lives well.”
Thinking of this, Yue Wenqiu smiled, hoping that he and Jiang Luoyue could achieve the same harmony his parents had shared.
However, the men were all keenly aware that Jiang Luoyue’s mood had been quite low lately. Even Fu Xia could feel it, but since her Sister didn’t speak of it, she didn’t ask.
“Does even Fu Xia not know what happened?” Li Changting asked, patting the little girl’s head. Fu Xia shook her head, frustrated that she, a divine beast, couldn’t ease her master’s sorrows.
Jiang Luoxing cooked a massive feast of delicious dishes to cheer his sister up. With so many mouths to feed now, he had to make quite a lot.
Jiang Luoyue had finally accepted that she would get no response from Luan Yao. She pulled the remnant soul of Luan Yao from her sea of consciousness; the divine sense portion had already dissipated. The remnant soul was merely a small orb of light resting in her palm. Jiang Luoyue placed it carefully inside a Soul-Nourishing Lamp. The light flickered slightly, as if saying “Thank you.”
“Sister, come eat!” Fu Xia’s adorable voice called from outside the door. Jiang Luoyue responded and, upon opening the door, scooped up the girl. “You’re sitting with Sister today.”
Fu Xia nodded vigorously. Although her “brothers” smelled nice, none of them compared to her Sister.
Gu Wangfeng had also left the Tai-Xu Realm for good. Now that the crisis was averted, the prophecy was nullified, and he was no longer bound to his sanctuary.
Wan’er was originally a small blade of grass he had enlightened. When he created him, he hadn’t viewed him as an independent person. Wan’er should have been hidden away with the Tai-Xu Realm, but Gu Wangfeng decided to bring him out to let him experience life in this world.
Wan’er looked to be about seven or eight years old. Since gaining consciousness, he had never seen anyone besides Jiang Luoyue and Gu Wangfeng. Seeing so many people like Li Changting, Lin Xi, Jiang Luoxing, Yue Wenqiu, and Yun Jian, he nervously gripped Gu Wangfeng’s leg and hid behind him.
“Don’t be afraid. They are all Sister’s partners,” Jiang Luoyue said, walking over and patting his head with a smile.
Fu Xia poked her head out, curious. “Who is he?”
“Fu Xia, this is Gu Wangfeng’s… er, disciple,” Jiang Luoyue said after a moment’s thought. Then she looked at Wan’er. “Wan’er, this is my spirit beast. She’s a Black Tortoise.”
Wan’er’s eyes went wide. “A Black Tortoise? Like the ‘Black’ from the legends?”
“That’s right!” Fu Xia puffed out her chest proudly.
Wan’er’s eyes sparkled. “So cool!” The two little ones were soon squatting together, happily chatting and playing in the dirt. Children, it seemed, made friends easily.
“Come and eat,” Yue Wenqiu called them to the table.
“Wenqiu, you’re secretly keeping a remnant of your father’s soul, aren’t you?” Jiang Luoyue asked suddenly.
Yue Wenqiu’s hand paused over the dishes. His eyes flickered before he nodded. “Yes.”
“What was the name of that flower that can nourish souls?” Jiang Luoyue turned to Lin Xi. His “Pavilion of Wind and Fullness” had too many treasures; she couldn’t remember all the names.
“Seven-Star Grass,” Lin Xi replied. “You place the soul inside the flower bud. By the day the flower blooms, the soul is restored.”
However, this process would take many, many years. But it didn’t matter; they had nothing but time.
“Yes! That’s the one. I want two pots,” Jiang Luoyue said happily. “Does the Pavilion still have them?”
Lin Xi could never resist her watery, hopeful gaze, especially if it made her happy. “But why do you need two?” he asked, curious.
“One for Uncle Yue, and the other… for my friend.” She was thinking of Luan Yao.
“Male or female?” Hearing her words, Lin Xi frowned, his fox ears flattening slightly. He already had enough rivals; he didn’t need more. The other men also watched her warily.
“Female. Her name is Luan Yao,” Jiang Luoyue shot them a glare. Do they have to be jealous every waking second?
Lin Xi’s expression softened, and his tail wagged leisurely behind him.
A few days later, Lin Xi brought over two pots of Seven-Star Grass. “I told my mother about it, but she said it wasn’t necessary,” Yue Wenqiu said, crouching by the pots with a slightly dejected tone. Because restoring a soul was such a long process—at least a thousand years—Madame Yue worried she wouldn’t be around to see it, and felt there was no point.
But Yue Wenqiu insisted. Since Lin Xi could provide it, why not use it?
“It’s okay. I’ll wait with you,” Jiang Luoyue said, crouching beside him. As the breeze blew, Yue Wenqiu felt she looked like a painting.
“Luoyue, I’m so happy I met you,” he said, his eyes warm and full of affection.
Jiang Luoyue tilted her head and rested it on his shoulder. “Me too.”
In the corner, Wan’er whispered to Fu Xia, “Why are they leaning together? Why can’t Sister Luoyue only lean on my Master?”
“Why should she only lean on your Master?” Fu Xia tilted her head. “They are all Sister’s partners.”
“But there are so many…” Wan’er was unhappy. His Master was the best in the world; why couldn’t he have her all to himself?
“But Sister Luoyue is beautiful! Beautiful girls need lots of beautiful jewelry and clothes to match when they go out,” Fu Xia said innocently. “This way, Sister can go out with gentle Brother Yue today, immortal Brother Wangfeng tomorrow, and pretty Brother Fox the day after…”
Wan’er looked at Fu Xia’s open-mindedness in shock. “Will you be like that too when you grow up?”
“I am a divine beast. I can have as many as I want,” Fu Xia said, shaking her head with the air of a profound sage. “After all, the heavy burden of revitalizing the Divine Beast clans rests entirely on my shoulders!”
