- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 59 - I Can Become Your Dao Companion
After a great deal of commotion, the lightning tribulation finally came to an end.
They had successfully broken through the Golden Core stage and reached the Nascent Soul stage. An alchemist at the Nascent Soul stage would undoubtedly be a prize that major sects would fight over. Li Changting was overjoyed, knowing he could now play a much more significant role.
Their gazes then fell upon the dark figure that had suddenly appeared—it turned out to be the little turtle.
“When did you wake up? Why did you come out to withstand the heavenly lightning? How are you feeling? Are you alright?” Jiang Luoyue immediately set down the little fox in her arms and picked up the little turtle.
The little turtle’s aura was faint. “I’m okay… My defensive power is naturally very strong. I sensed that the lightning was too powerful and feared you wouldn’t be able to hold out.”
“But your breath is so weak,” Jiang Luoyue said with concern.
Li Changting also sensed that the little turtle’s spiritual energy was in total disarray.
“Yes, I…” Before the little turtle could finish its sentence, it fainted once again.
“What’s going on? It just woke up,” Jiang Luoyue said, filled with worry. Since she kept the little turtle by her side, she viewed it as a partner; she couldn’t bear to watch it get hurt.
“Its state is very peculiar. The heavenly lightning didn’t actually harm it, and it has already reached the Golden Core stage. When Luoyue first brought it back, it was just a tiny baby,” Li Changting remarked.
Jiang Luoyue thought for a moment. “It seems we still need to take it to the Ruins of the Divine Beasts.”
Lin Xi, sensing that the bloodline within the little turtle was far from ordinary, nodded. “Very well, I will take it there.”
“Weren’t you unwilling before?” Jiang Luoyue looked at him with a beaming smile. “How about this… I can become your Dao companion.”
“Sister!” Jiang Luoxing cried out in a hurry.
How could his sister be so easily seduced by this stinking fox?!
Lin Xi looked as though he had been struck by a massive ball of surprise; he froze on the spot. Upon hearing Jiang Luoxing’s voice, he quickly snapped back to his senses and bared his fangs at the boy.
“What are you shouting for? What does this have to do with you!” Lin Xi growled, letting out a low, menacing whine.
“Turn back into a human before you talk to me.” Jiang Luoxing glanced at the white puff on the stone table. Fine, it does look… somewhat cute.
But so what? It was still just a stinking fox trying to seduce his sister.
“And foxes have a strong scent!” Jiang Luoxing added sharply.
Lin Xi transformed back into his human form. “How could a fox with a cultivation base have a scent? You’re just jealous of me, aren’t you?”
Lin Xi quickly recovered from his agitated state. He was the Lord of the Demon Realm; why should he bicker with an ignorant child? He was noble and elegant; it was only natural for people to be fond of him.
The tail behind Lin Xi swayed leisurely, radiating a sense of smugness.
“Alright, stop it,” Jiang Luoyue said, casting a glance at Jiang Luoxing.
“But Sister truly does like the little fox,” Jiang Luoyue said in a softened tone. “While Sister likes the little fox, I will also continue to love Luoxing. The more people we have, the livelier our home becomes. In the future, we can face any difficulties together.”
Jiang Luoxing felt a bit jealous, but he ultimately accepted it.
Yue Wenqiu had once told him that Jiang Luoyue possessed a special constitution. The speed at which their group progressed would always draw suspicion; they needed to accept powerful individuals to protect Luoyue.
“Hmph.” Jiang Luoxing snorted at Lin Xi, then turned to head back into the house. “I’m going to go refine my spiritual energy.”
Li Changting watched as Lin Xi stood beside Jiang Luoyue like a general returning in triumph, and his expression dimmed.
“I’ll be heading back too. I’ve just broken through and need to consolidate my foundation.” Li Changting let out two dry, hollow laughs before turning to leave.
Ever since he had met Yue Wenqiu, Li Changting understood clearly that his own brilliance was too faint. He didn’t dare to ask for much, but every time he saw Junior Sister Jiang surrounded by so many people, his heart felt an irrepressible bitterness.
Li Changting huddled beside his alchemy furnace. He had refined many more pills that could earn a lot of money for his Junior Sister. Refining pills was the only “uninteresting” part of his otherwise uninteresting life.
Once everyone had left, Lin Xi turned back into a fox and jumped into Jiang Luoyue’s arms. She quickly caught him.
“What are you doing? Why did you turn back into a fox?” Jiang Luoyue asked as she carried him into the house. Dawn was approaching, and she wanted to catch a little more sleep.
“Didn’t you say you’d be my Dao companion?” Jiang Luoyue teased, poking Lin Xi’s ear.
“Yes.” Lin Xi nodded seriously. Although he wanted to engage in dual cultivation with Jiang Luoyue, he wasn’t mentally prepared yet; he didn’t want to rush.
“Becoming Dao companions doesn’t strictly require dual cultivation.” Lin Xi turned his head away shyly.
Seeing his maiden-like expression, Jiang Luoyue couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “Why so bashful? Then how shall we become Dao companions?”
“Making a Vow of Heaven and Earth is also an option.” Lin Xi raised a paw and placed it on her hand. His paw pads were slightly rough, and Jiang Luoyue couldn’t resist giving them a squeeze.
“Very well,” Jiang Luoyue agreed.
They made the Vow of Heaven and Earth and officially became Dao companions.
“Rest for a while, and then I will take you to the Demon Realm’s Secret Realm,” Lin Xi said.
Jiang Luoyue cradled Lin Xi’s tail in her arms. It was fluffy and soft, and she found it nearly impossible to put down.
“Can you stop playing with it?” Lin Xi asked. Although he hadn’t intended to move toward dual cultivation so soon, he couldn’t help but feel provoked when his sensitive spots were being toyed with.
“Why? Is it not allowed?” Jiang Luoyue tilted her head and looked at him.
“It’s not that…” Meeting Jiang Luoyue’s pure and innocent gaze, Lin Xi knew she was pretending, but he still shook his head.
“By the way, I wonder how Yue Wenqiu is handling things. Once the matter with the little turtle is resolved, I need to go to the Dongyue Sect,” Jiang Luoyue remarked.
“Alright, I will go with you,” Lin Xi replied.
“I’ll take you somewhere.” Jiang Luoyue took Lin Xi’s hand and pressed a passage jade slip into his palm. Then, they arrived at the Floating Wave House.
“This is…?” Lin Xi looked at this hidden paradise in astonishment.
However, while Jiang Luoyue and the others occasionally added items to the Floating Wave House, it was overall far from being “cozy” or “luxurious.” For Lin Xi, who grew up in the lap of luxury, it was a bit underwhelming.
“This is my hidden treasure land; you need this slip to enter.” Jiang Luoyue shook the passage jade slip in her hand. “No matter where you are, you can come in at any time.”
Jiang Luoyue led Lin Xi inside. “It’s a bit simple, but the others and I will continue to add things to it.”
“Can I do that too?” Lin Xi asked.
“Of course. This room will be yours.” Jiang Luoyue pointed to a room on the second floor.
“Great.” Lin Xi hadn’t expected Jiang Luoyue to have such a fortuitous opportunity; this was truly a magnificent treasure.
“The flowers outside are a bit too plain. I’ll bring some others,” Lin Xi said. “The Demon Realm has many beautiful plants and flowers.”
The open space outside the house was vast, enough to build many more rooms, but they had no time to tend to it. They had only haphazardly transplanted a few flowers near the entrance for decoration.
