- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 56 - What a Cute Little Cat
Jiang Luoyue, Jiang Luoxing, and Li Changting all stared at the pouch with wide eyes. “This much?!”
Lin Xi looked at them with a touch of disdain, clearly thinking they looked like they hadn’t seen the world. He turned to Li Changting. “Aren’t you an Alchemist? How are you still so short on cash?”
Li Changting scratched his head sheepishly. “My talent is… let’s just say, not very high, and I don’t exactly have the best luck with money.”
Lin Xi curled his lip. “Give me a Realm-Passing Pill; I could sell a single one for at least a million spirit stones.”
Jiang Luoyue was tempted by the profit, but she had no intention of exposing the System. “You know how rare those are. I don’t have many; I’ll give you one when I manage to get my hands on another.”
Lin Xi stared at her in silence for several long seconds before finally looking away. “Fine.”
“Your cultivation broke through?” Lin Xi asked, sensing the sudden richness of her spiritual aura.
“Yes, Late-Nascent Soul,” Jiang Luoyue replied, hoping she could reach Soul Transformation soon.
“Junior Sister, that’s incredible!” Li Changting marveled.
Jiang Luoxing was equally surprised. He pursed his lips and reached out to hook his finger around hers. “Sister, am I cultivating too slowly?”
“How could that be? Young Brother Jiang is already very impressive. I’ve been cultivating for so long and I’m only at the Golden Core stage…” Li Changting offered sincerely.
Jiang Luoxing was speechless and annoyed. He gritted his teeth and muttered, “Thanks for the input.” He was trying to act spoiled with his sister—why did this oblivious Li Changting have to butt in?
“Hehe, no problem,” Li Changting smiled brightly. “You really are amazing. I should learn from you.”
Jiang Luoxing suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. This guy was somehow more annoying than Yue Wenqiu. Jiang Luoyue smiled and squeezed Luoxing’s palm, her voice a mix of tenderness and teasing, “Luoxing.”
“Hmph.” Jiang Luoxing snorted, then turned to Li Changting. “Fine. Are you going to teach me that massage technique or what?”
“Of course.” Li Changting nodded. He pulled out an anatomical chart of acupoints and a massage diagram from his storage pouch and began teaching with professional seriousness.
The room had an inner and outer chamber; the two of them retreated to the outer area to study so they wouldn’t disturb Jiang Luoyue’s rest.
Lin Xi’s furry ears twitched. He felt a bit of contempt for the men around Jiang Luoyue—they seemed a bit dim-witted. Except for that Yue Wenqiu; he was at least somewhat presentable.
“Your ears?” Jiang Luoyue stared at them. They looked so soft. Back when he was a fox, she used to love holding him and giving him a thorough rua.
Lin Xi noticed her gaze and turned his head away awkwardly. “What are you looking at?”
“What, it’s not like I haven’t touched them before,” Jiang Luoyue teased.
Lin Xi glared at her. When he was in his fox form, she loved holding him against her chest to rub his belly, kneading his fluffy tail, pinching his ears, and she had even used her teeth to nibble them! In short, she was absolutely wicked!
Being of the Demon Tribe, Lin Xi preferred to keep some animalistic traits even in human form. To demons, “naked” humans looked plain and ugly compared to their true forms.
Jiang Luoyue suddenly realized someone was missing. She had been awake for a while, yet that man hadn’t come to see her. “Where’s Yue Wenqiu?”
Lin Xi saw right through her. “Looking for him? The Dongyue Sect had an emergency and called him away.”
“Did he say what happened?” she asked. Having received help from Dongyue, she wanted to repay the favor.
“Apparently, a lot of cultivators have gone missing. Luo Xiuping mentioned kidnapping cultivators to increase strength—I suspect it has something to do with his Master.”
Jiang Luoyue nodded. “Likely. We’ll have to investigate that later. I wonder what those demonic cultivators are up to.”
“Indeed, but that can wait,” Lin Xi said, before shifting the topic. “You… are a bit of an oddity.” He let out a dry laugh. “Wounded so badly, plus the backlash of the Realm-Passing Pill, yet you’re perfectly fine after a nap.”
“Well, didn’t you go pick Seven-Star Grass for me?” Jiang Luoyue felt a bit guilty and avoided his eyes.
“I did. But I only just stepped out of the Secret Realm,” Lin Xi said, opening his hands to reveal the Seven-Star Grass sitting in his palm. “Li Changting had prepared the base pills and was just waiting for me to bring this… but the Secret Realm is full of dangers. I went through a lot of trouble to get it, yet you…”
“You’re already cured?” Every pause in his sentence made her nervous.
Jiang Luoyue’s eyes darted around as she feigned composure. “Ahem… well, secrets can only be told to those who are ‘close’ to me.”
Lin Xi chuckled, seemingly reading her mind. “And how does one become a ‘close’ person?”
Jiang Luoyue’s eyes widened. “Do you mean what I think you mean?”
“Why are you so blunt? Aren’t you immortal sects supposed to be subtle about these things?” Lin Xi’s ears turned red, the color visible even through his white fur.
If you know, you know; why do you have to point it out? he grumbled internally.
“Whatever. If you have something to say, just say it. I don’t like beating around the bush,” she said.
“Hmph.” Lin Xi’s ears flicked. His neck was starting to turn pink, and Jiang Luoyue couldn’t help but laugh.
Host, if you like him, just take him, the System chimed in suddenly with a teasing tone. Your other partners are all human cultivators; a little fox would be so cute.
Jiang Luoyue smiled inwardly. “‘Close’… isn’t that easy to understand? It means you into me, me into you… becoming Dao companions.”
She genuinely liked the little fox, both in his beast form and his current human form. She could feel that he was a pure-hearted person; even though he had killed his uncle to take the throne, it was only to avenge his parents.
Hearing her words, Lin Xi’s face turned bright red, almost steaming.
“But I suppose the noble Lord of the Demon Tribe would never look twice at someone like me,” Jiang Luoyue teased. “I’m going to get up now; I’ll have Luoxing make me something to eat…”
Lin Xi’s ears drooped slightly at her words. Seeing his reaction, Jiang Luoyue thought, Gotcha.
“He’s busy learning massage. I’ll have the Demon Tribe chefs cook for you; try our local specialties,” Lin Xi said quickly. He summoned a servant and gave the orders. A young maid with twitching cat ears bowed and left.
What a cute little cat, Jiang Luoyue thought.
Lin Xi turned and caught her staring. He felt a flash of irritation. “Do you like looking at animal ears that much? She’s already gone, and you’re still staring.”
“But they really were so cute…” Jiang Luoyue pouted, twiddling her fingers innocently.
