- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 51 - Not Letting Her Leave Alive
“Who cares what she wants? The Seven-Star Grass is in our hands now.” Luo Xiuping loathed even hearing the names of the people Jiang Luoyue might be trying to save. “Today, I will absolutely not let her leave Fengman Pavilion alive.”
He began plotting how to stir up trouble and draw her out. Soon, an attendant brought the Seven-Star Grass to him. Luo Xiuping tucked the real grass into his storage pouch, then had a sudden inspiration. He pulled out a different herb and used an illusion to make it look exactly like the Seven-Star Grass.
He summoned the attendant. “Take this to the fellow Daoist who was bidding against me. Consider it a gift. Tell her I send my regards to her parents.”
The attendant was confused—why give away something bought at such a high price?—but he obeyed.
“Guests, the guest who won the Seven-Star Grass has sent this to you. He also asked me to send his regards to your parents,” the attendant announced, leaving the tray behind.
Jiang Luoxing was stunned. “Why would that person just give it to us?”
“Someone sending regards to my parents… who do you think that could be?” Jiang Luoyue’s face darkened. Her friends knew the truth: her parents were dead. Only an enemy would intentionally twist the knife by “sending regards” to the deceased.
“It’s Luo Xiuping.” Li Changting clenched his fists. This was the man who had murdered Luoyue’s parents and trapped him in a formation to be tortured.
The little turtle sensed the shift in the atmosphere. It blinked, sensing something wrong with the spirit herb on the tray. Its perception of living things was incredibly sharp—this didn’t feel like Seven-Star Grass at all.
Just as Jiang Luoyue reached out to touch it, the turtle screamed, “Sister, don’t touch it!”
BOOM!
A surge of spiritual energy exploded. Fortunately, the defensive barriers of Jiang Luoyue’s bracelet and her new jade ring activated instantly, shielding her and those around her. The little turtle had retreated into its shell and was unharmed.
The VIP box, however, wasn’t so lucky. The walls were blasted apart, exposing Jiang Luoyue and her group to the entire auction hall. The audience below froze for a second before erupting into a chaotic clamor.
Yue Wenqiu and Jiang Luoxing drew their swords in unison. As the dust cleared, Luo Xiuping flew through the air and landed before them, with Zhao Ziyan following close behind.
“It really is you.” Jiang Luoyue’s eyes turned sharp. This time, she would not let him escape. She struck out with confidence, remembering him as someone she had already defeated once before.
However, Luo Xiuping remained calm, raising his sword to block her attack with ease. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed a gale of sword qi that sent Jiang Luoyue crashing to the floor.
She spat out a mouthful of blood but didn’t back down. Wiping her chin, she looked up. Luo Xiuping was surrounded by a thick, swirling aura of demonic qi, laughing maniacally. He had reached the Soul Transformation stage. To him, Jiang Luoyue was now nothing more than a child.
The guests in the hall were horrified. “A demonic cultivator! There’s a demonic cultivator here!”
Jiang Luoxing tried to rush forward, but Yue Wenqiu blocked him. “I’ll help her. You and Li Changting are only at the Golden Core stage; in front of a Soul Transformation master, you’re just ants he can crush with one hand.”
Jiang Luoxing bit his lip, forced to admit Yue Wenqiu was right.
Jiang Luoyue was reeling. She had only reached the mid-Nascent Soul stage through Dual Cultivation. How had Luo Xiuping jumped to Soul Transformation in such a short time? What had he done?
“Haha! Little girl, you failed to kill me back then. I won’t be so merciful today,” Luo Xiuping gloated. “Go down and join your parents!” He launched another attack.
As Jiang Luoyue prepared to dodge, Yue Wenqiu swept her up by the waist and flashed to the side. “He’s at the Soul Transformation stage. Even if we team up, we might not make it out alive,” he whispered, his brow furrowed. Escape was looking impossible.
Jiang Luoyue swung her peach branch. Even if she couldn’t unleash its full power, she only needed to hit him three times to win. But every time she got close, Luo Xiuping vanished and reappeared next to Zhao Ziyan, who moved with him.
“They have a paired artifact for short-range teleportation,” Yue Wenqiu realized.
Luo Xiuping released a wave of spiritual pressure so intense that many cultivators in the hall struggled to breathe. He struck again, and Jiang Luoyue raised her branch to block, but she was already injured and the branch’s power was failing to manifest.
Suddenly, a massive figure threw itself in front of her.
Jiang Luoyue saw a giant fox with three tails glowing with a dazzling light. Her pupils shrunken, she threw her Green Infant Sword to help the fox block the blow.
The fox took the hit and tumbled to the ground, shrinking back into a small, fluffy white ball.
“Little Fox!” Jiang Luoyue scooped it up, her heart aching with worry.
“I’m… I’m okay,” Lin Xi’s voice rang out. He was also at the Soul Transformation stage, so he could take the hit without spitting blood, but since he had rushed to protect her without a proper barrier, he was still hurting.
Lin Xi shifted into his human form—the handsome man who had given them the VIP tickets.
“Young Master!” Wenqing and Wenwu cried out in alarm.
“That’s the Young Master of the Demon Tribe!” someone in the crowd shouted.
Lin Xi swept a sharp gaze across the room. “Now, I am the Lord of the Demon Tribe.” His father was dead, his traitorous uncle was gone—the throne was his.
“Little Fox!” Jiang Luoyue looked at him in shock.
“This is the sword my father left me, Yinxue. It kills without leaving a soul behind. Use it,” Lin Xi said. He handed her his blade and took the Green Infant Sword from her.
“Thank you. But I have to kill him myself,” Jiang Luoyue insisted. She didn’t want to drag the entire Demon Tribe into a war with humans. Besides, Luo Xiuping’s power was unnatural; even a legitimate Soul Transformation expert like Lin Xi might struggle against his demonic arts.
Lin Xi was worried, but he understood her position. He decided to stay back, ready to intervene only if she was truly overwhelmed. As the little turtle had said, the Green Infant Sword was a blade of life; it would help him recover his strength quickly while he watched over her.
