- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 48 - The Auction
“No, it’s just a figure of speech,” Jiang Luoyue laughed, tapping the little creature on its head. Well, the more I look at this little turtle, the cuter it gets.
While Jiang Luoxing prepared to meditate, only Li Changting was willing to spend the whole day playing with the turtle. He patted its shell and sighed, “Poor thing, you’re stuck with me all day.”
The turtle looked up blankly. “Why do the others take turns sleeping with Big Sister, but you don’t?”
Before Jiang Luoxing could shoot it a death glare, Li Changting quickly covered its mouth. “Don’t you dare say such things out loud!”
The little turtle wagged its tail, utterly confused about what “adult things” it wasn’t supposed to understand.
Jiang Luoyue and Yue Wenqiu disguised themselves and moved stealthily toward Fengman Pavilion. Collecting VIP tickets had to be done under the radar—if others found out, they might be targeted for a robbery.
As soon as they reached the small side door, a figure appeared. It was Wenqing, heavily disguised. He produced two tickets featuring the unique anti-counterfeiting marks of Fengman Pavilion. Upon entry, the guarding cultivators would scan the tickets for the specific spiritual signature injected by the Pavilion to verify their authenticity.
“These are the tickets our Master granted you,” Wenqing explained. “Additionally, each VIP guest is permitted to bring one friend. Any more than that will require a fee.”
“Does a turtle have to pay?” Jiang Luoyue suddenly thought of her little companion.
“Huh?” Wenqing was stunned.
“Hehe, it’s just my little pet. It hasn’t taken human form yet, so it doesn’t count as a person, right?” Jiang Luoyue felt a bit embarrassed; here someone was helping her, and she was already trying to be a cheapskate.
“Half price,” Wenqing replied, somewhat speechless. His Young Master hadn’t given him instructions on this, but he couldn’t bear to let the Young Master lose too much money, so he took it upon himself to charge half. Given the size of a pet turtle, half price seemed reasonable.
“Thank you!” Jiang Luoyue said with a grin. She then produced six bottles of pills. “Brother, could you help us sell these?”
Before coming here, Wenqing had been instructed by the Young Master to agree to any reasonable request from this female cultivator. “Very well. I will bring the proceeds to you once they are sold.”
“Much obliged, little brother,” Jiang Luoyue said, her eyes curving into crescent moons.
“It’s nothing. Now, leave quickly,” Wenqing urged, waving them off. He needed to report back immediately.
“Alright.” Jiang Luoyue wasn’t offended by being rushed; she knew he was looking out for them. Staying too long would only invite unwanted attention. She grabbed Yue Wenqiu’s hand and hurried away.
“What did she want this time?” the beautiful youth asked Wenqing.
Wenqing’s expression twitched. “She asked if her turtle could get a free ticket. She also asked me to help sell some pills.”
“A turtle?” The youth looked at Wenqing.
“It should be the one Miss Jiang rescued from a formation when you were away, Young Master,” Wenqing explained, sensing his master’s mood turning sour.
“Her taste is truly abysmal,” the youth huffed disdainfully. “You are dismissed.”
After Wenqing bowed and left, a large, fluffy tail suddenly sprouted from behind the youth. He picked up some grooming tools and began patiently brushing his fur, finishing it off with some volumizer and perfume. In an instant, a fragrant, pristine white tail appeared.
The day of the auction finally arrived.
Jiang Luoyue, Jiang Luoxing, and Li Changting were filled with excitement. Yue Wenqiu, having attended such events with his parents as a child, found it less novel. A welcoming attendant verified their tickets and led them to a private VIP box. The box offered excellent privacy, shielded by a barrier that prevented sound from traveling outward.
The view was perfect, overlooking the display stage. Inside, spiritual fruits were provided, and they could order meals—all of which were delicacies rich in spiritual energy.
“Sister, are you hungry? Let’s order something,” Jiang Luoxing suggested. “I wonder how the chef’s skills compare to mine.”
“Rest assured, guests—our chefs are second to none,” the attendant said, presenting a menu for their selection.
Jiang Luoyue ordered nearly everything on the menu. After all, they had a large group and a very hungry little turtle.
As the auction began, the staff of Fengman Pavilion were all heavily cloaked, their voices magically altered to hide their true identities. The initial items were mostly things they didn’t need, so the group didn’t pay much attention.
“This spiritual fruit pastry is delicious—it even has a filling,” Jiang Luoyue said, picking up a delicate pastry and offering it to the turtle.
“Thank you, Sister Luoyue! This is so good!” The turtle held the fruit with its front claws, munching happily. The fruit was dense with spiritual energy, which the spirit beast could absorb to raise its cultivation.
“Eat as much as you like,” Jiang Luoyue said, not wanting to play favorites. She began feeding Jiang Luoxing and Yue Wenqiu as well.
Jiang Luoxing, who had been secretly glaring at the turtle, immediately beamed with joy when his sister fed him. “It’s delicious, Sister.”
Yue Wenqiu took a bite and pointed to a small yellow sweetcake. “This one is excellent. If we can’t finish it, we should take it with us.”
“Since when did you start liking such sugary things?” Jiang Luoxing asked with a smirk.
“Perhaps because I’ve spent so much time with Luoyue,” Yue Wenqiu smiled gently, then looked toward Li Changting. “Brother Li, do you prefer the spirit beast meat?”
Li Changting was currently gnawing on a roasted spirit beast leg. “Yes, the seasoning is very fragrant. Though, Brother Jiang’s cooking is still superior.”
“Of course! Luoxing’s cooking is unrivaled,” Jiang Luoyue chimed in.
The compliment made Jiang Luoxing’s lips curl into a proud grin. “It’s alright, I suppose. I’ll make even better dishes for you in the future. I have prepared meals in my storage pouch; just let me know if you want them.” He had spent the night before their journey cooking specifically for her.
“How lovely. We’re just eating these for fun anyway,” Jiang Luoyue laughed, reaching over to pinch his earlobe affectionately. Jiang Luoxing leaned into her touch with a smile. Yue Wenqiu, long accustomed to this, simply sipped his tea with a calm expression.
Children are so clingy, Yue Wenqiu thought.
In another private box, Luo Xiuping and Zhao Ziyan were seated together.
“We must win the Seven-Star Grass this time. If there is a Realm-Passing Pill, we should take that as well,” Luo Xiuping said.
Zhao Ziyan sat submissively by his side, her expression strained as if she were holding something back. “I thought no Alchemist was currently capable of refining a Realm-Passing Pill?”
“The Master said he sensed the aura of one recently. Fengman Pavilion gathers treasures from across the world; there might just be one here,” Luo Xiuping said, casting a disdainful look at her. “You’re still just a little girl. Come here—sit on my lap.”
