- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 42 - Jealousy
In her state of unconsciousness, Jiang Luoyue’s eyelashes fluttered slightly. Thinking she was about to wake up, Jiang Luoxing quickly leaned in close, but after waiting for a long while, there was still no further reaction.
“Keep administering these pills for now. Here is the prescription; I’m not sure if you have these spiritual herbs in your stores, so I’ve brought some along as well.” The Alchemist from the Xiyun Sect handed the supplies over to Yue Wenqiu.
“The fellow Daoist who just stepped out is also an Alchemist, right? A Golden Core cultivator should be able to refine these successfully,” the Alchemist explained.
“Understood. Thank you for your trouble,” Yue Wenqiu replied, accepting the items.
Yun Kaiji and the others didn’t stay long and took their leave shortly after. Meanwhile, Song Weiyuan received a scolding from his mother. “I told you not to let your sister go! How did she end up so heavily injured?” Madam Song cried, dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief.
Song Weiyuan felt a pang of self-reproach, yet he truly hadn’t expected an accident to happen during Jiang Luoyue’s very first outing—especially since the Song family’s cultivators had traversed that area countless times without incident.
While he felt responsible, he did not feel regret. For a cultivator, danger often went hand-in-hand with opportunity. Hadn’t his sister brought back a Cracked-Shell Turtle this time? Those turtles possessed immense defensive capabilities; if she could form a soul-bond with it as her spirit beast, it would be a massive stroke of luck for her.
Because Jiang Luoyue’s physical body was severely damaged, Gu Wangfeng could not pull her physical form into the Taixu Realm as he had done before. Instead, he could only draw her soul inside.
“Where did you get a Realm-Passing Pill? You’ve injured yourself so badly,” Gu Wangfeng said, frowning at her. He nagged her like one would a mischievous child, yet his heart ached so much for her that he couldn’t bring himself to use a harsh tone.
“I found it by chance a long time ago,” Jiang Luoyue lied smoothly.
Gu Wangfeng didn’t press her for the truth. The fact that Jiang Luoyue possessed that unique Dual Cultivation method was already proof that her destiny and luck were extraordinary. If she was lying, it simply meant she didn’t want to talk about it, and Gu Wangfeng wasn’t the type to pry.
“You paid a heavy price just to save one Cracked-Shell Turtle,” Gu Wangfeng sighed. Cultivators generally preferred bonding with high-offense beasts to maximize their combat power.
“But Cracked-Shell Turtles are the strongest defensive beasts in the monster realm. I don’t feel like it was a loss,” Jiang Luoyue disagreed. Besides, the little turtle was quite pitiful; she had saved it, and that was that.
“In that situation, even if I hadn’t saved the little turtle, those cultivators wouldn’t have let me go anyway.” Jiang Luoyue lowered her head, leaning piteously against Gu Wangfeng’s shoulder.
“Wait, I’m a soul right now, aren’t I? How can you touch me?” Jiang Luoyue was certain her physical body was still lying on the bed.
Gu Wangfeng let out a soft chuckle. “This is my sea of consciousness. To be precise, we are currently interacting in our spiritual forms.”
For a cultivator, the sea of consciousness is a sacred and vital place; one only allows the most important people inside. If an outsider were to attack one’s consciousness, the damage would be hundreds of times more severe than any physical wound.
“You mentioned before that your Dual Cultivation method can not only raise cultivation levels but also heal wounds. Shall we try?” Gu Wangfeng suddenly drew closer, his arm wrapping around her slender waist.
One moment he was speaking formally, and the next he was so close their lips were almost touching. Jiang Luoyue’s face flushed a deep crimson.
“Your physical body is unconscious. Even if the others wanted to enter your sea of consciousness, they have no way of making you open it,” Gu Wangfeng noted. Seeing her hesitation, he assumed she was unsure. “Right now, I am the only one who can help you.”
The last time he had pulled her into the Taixu Realm, it was because he missed her. He missed her this time too, but his primary desire was to help her recover.
“A spiritual union should be even more effective,” Jiang Luoyue nodded, her face burning.
Gu Wangfeng leaned down, pressing her back, and Jiang Luoyue cooperatively wrapped her legs around his waist. Though healing was the priority, such matters still required a sense of pleasure. Gu Wangfeng’s movements were gentle, his fingers trailing over her like a musician plucking harp strings, igniting fires wherever he touched.
Nearby, the young boy Wan’er, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time, was currently meditating under a peach blossom tree. He knew Jiang Luoyue had arrived today, and he knew she had visited once before. However, both times his Master had instructed him to stay far away.
Little Wan’er was very confused. He understood that Master missed Jiang Luoyue and wanted some time alone with her, but he missed the “Big Sister” too. She was quite mean, he thought, not even coming over to say hello.
Meanwhile, Jiang Luoyue and Gu Wangfeng were immersed in their bliss.
“Your face is so red,” Gu Wangfeng whispered. Seeing the unusual flush on her cheeks, he couldn’t help but smile, affectionately pressing his face against hers.
Jiang Luoyue’s hands gripped his shoulders. Feeling the slick heat of perspiration on his skin, she smiled weakly. “Later… let’s go out… and soak in the… spiritual spring for a while.” Her voice was fragmented, punctuated by soft gasps.
She gave him a playful, embarrassed swat, but there was no strength behind it. She was trying to talk to him, yet he wouldn’t stop for a second. Seeing her pretty, pouting glare, Gu Wangfeng wasn’t angry at all; in fact, it made him want her to hit him more. He took a certain delight in teasing her while she tried to speak—she shouldn’t be so distracted, after all. Idle chatter should wait until they were finished.
When it was over, Jiang Luoyue lay in his arms with her eyes closed, her lashes as beautiful as raven feathers. Since her physical body was injured, her spiritual form had less stamina than usual. Gu Wangfeng wrapped her in a blanket and carried her to the spiritual spring.
As her body submerged in the warm water, she woke up fully and leaned softly against him, letting her entire weight rest on his chest.
“Go back as soon as you’ve soaked for a bit. They will be worried,” Gu Wangfeng said tenderly, stroking her hair.
“So considerate?” Hearing this, Jiang Luoyue’s lazy demeanor shifted. She arched an eyebrow and looked at him teasingly. “Are you not jealous?”
“Of course I am,” Gu Wangfeng replied, his cheek brushing against hers. “That’s why you must come back often, Luoyue… to dote on me.”
Jiang Luoyue burst into laughter. She especially loved it when Gu Wangfeng said things like that. It felt like a “flower on a high peak” being pulled down to earth, kneeling and bowing his head before her. Thinking this, she realized she was perhaps a bit wicked.
“But there is nothing I can do. Everyone wants to pluck the moon; I cannot keep the moon for myself,” Gu Wangfeng said, his voice tinged with an unavoidable sadness. “And you wouldn’t be willing to stay here with me in the Taixu Realm forever.”
Jiang Luoyue pursed her lips, feeling a twinge of guilt. She couldn’t give Gu Wangfeng a singular, exclusive love, yet she continued to provoke his affections. In truth, every one of these men was compromising for her sake.
“But it is good for you to have more people by your side; they can protect you,” Gu Wangfeng whispered, sensing her thoughts and offering comfort. “I can perceive the outside world through the peach branches. That boy Jiang Luoxing is very good at cooking. That is enough for me.”
Jiang Luoyue sighed. As long as they could find peace with the arrangement, she was relieved; she really wasn’t very good at coaxing people.
She took his face in her hands and kissed him. “I truly love you.”
“That is enough,” Gu Wangfeng replied, returning the kiss.
