- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 30 - Little Fox
Just as everyone was worried, Yue Wenqiu appeared at the doorway. As he entered, he saw the three of them huddled together talking.
“What are you discussing?” Yue Wenqiu asked curiously, the joy in his voice unmistakable.
All three heads turned toward him simultaneously, staring at him, the worry in their eyes not yet faded.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen? Why the long faces?” The smile on Yue Wenqiu’s face froze. Their expressions seemed strange to him—worried, and yet… as if they were about to rush over and punch him the next second.
“Where did you go? We were so worried about you,” Song Weiyuan said, feeling both helpless and slightly reproachful.
Jiang Luoyue quickly walked up to him, pinched his ear, and whispered close to him, “You leave as soon as you put your clothes on? Without even saying where you’re going!”
Her angry little expression was like an infuriated cat grabbing its owner’s hand and nibbling it. Pinching his ear was a bit embarrassing, but it didn’t hurt much. Losing face in front of Jiang Luoxing and Song Weiyuan didn’t count as losing face.
Yue Wenqiu quickly apologized. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I was wrong.” He quickly tried to soothe Jiang Luoyue. “I suddenly felt the urge to break through. This is the mortal world, and there are houses all around, so I ran far away to endure the lightning tribulation.”
“The reason I took so long is because…” Yue Wenqiu awkwardly scratched his head. “I passed out after enduring the lightning tribulation.”
“I left in too much of a hurry and forgot to bring any pills.” Yue Wenqiu had put all his belongings in the Floating Wave House, but he was too exhausted at the time and didn’t remember that he could freely enter and exit the Floating Wave House.
“We worried about you all day…” Jiang Luoxing said speechlessly. “Elder Sister even went to the Eastern Yue Sect to look for you.”
“I’m truly sorry. I thought I would be back quickly, I didn’t expect to faint,” Yue Wenqiu apologized again. “But I broke through the Golden Core Stage and reached the Nascent Soul Stage. Can you not be angry anymore?”
Well, the elegant Young Master Yue could even put on such a wronged and pleading expression. Jiang Luoyue decided not to be angry with him anymore.
“When I went to the Eastern Yue Sect to find you, I told them you were missing. Send them a message, lest they worry about you,” Jiang Luoyue rolled her eyes at him.
“Alright,” Yue Wenqiu said, not delaying. He immediately took out a communication tool to send a message to his parents and inform them of the good news that he had reached the Nascent Soul Stage.
“Since he’s fine, our trip was worth it,” Song Weiyuan quickly spoke to mediate. Regardless, successfully breaking through was a good thing.
With Yue Wenqiu safe, Jiang Luoyue was relieved, but she felt like she had forgotten something. However, she couldn’t recall it for a moment. If she couldn’t remember it, it meant it wasn’t important enough. Thinking this, Jiang Luoyue stopped dwelling on it.
Jiang Luoyue and Yue Wenqiu sat at the dining table, rubbing their hands as they waited for Jiang Luoxing to serve the meal. Jiang Luoxing had learned from the Song family’s chef and added his own recipes, making the food even better than the chef’s.
“Elder Sister, eat more if you like it,” Jiang Luoxing smiled like an obedient puppy, putting food in her bowl.
Because Jiang Luoxing was serving so diligently, Yue Wenqiu felt a little awkward. Putting food in her bowl felt like he was copying Jiang Luoxing, but not adding food made him seem less attentive. Jiang Luoyue was enjoying her meal and didn’t notice Yue Wenqiu’s embarrassment.
“Hungry…”
“Pain…”
“Help…”
Intermittent voices, imbued with spiritual power, echoed from the Floating Wave House. As the owner of the Floating Wave House, Jiang Luoyue immediately sensed the situation inside. Only then did she remember what she had forgotten: she had saved a fluffy white fox and completely forgotten about it after throwing it into the Floating Wave House.
“What’s wrong, Elder Sister?” Jiang Luoxing noticed the change in Jiang Luoyue’s expression and thought his cooking wasn’t good, so he quickly tasted the dish she had just been eating.
“Wait for me. I need to go back to the Floating Wave House,” Jiang Luoyue said, and her figure disappeared from the table.
Inside the Floating Wave House’s Grotto-Heaven, a dirty little fox, its white fur stained with blood, was huddled near the house’s entrance, unable to move. Sensing someone approaching, the little fox raised its head to look at the newcomer. “Tsk, your face is so pretty, but your heart is so cruel.” It had been unconscious for so long, and after waking up, it waited until its stomach was empty but never saw the person who saved it even once. Fortunately, the Demon Clan’s self-healing ability was strong, or else it would have likely bled to death.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I accidentally forgot about you,” Jiang Luoyue quickly apologized, picking up the little fox carefully and gently. “I’ll take you out for treatment right now.”
The little fox’s face was full of speechlessness and accusation. How could she forget a fox as big as me!
Jiang Luoyue carried the little fox out of the Floating Wave House. Jiang Luoxing and Yue Wenqiu were both shocked to see a dark-red ball of fur in her arms.
“This is a little fox I rescued on my way to the Eastern Yue Sect to find you,” Jiang Luoyue explained. “It looks quite cute. Let’s get it treated.”
“A little fox that has gained sentience? Was it being hunted?” Yue Wenqiu wondered. The little fox’s eyes were bright and moist, and it was rolling its eyes, staring at them.
“You are the one being hunted! You think too little of me!” The little fox opened its mouth and grumbled, its fluffy little face full of indignation.
The little fox struggled quite vigorously. Jiang Luoyue had trouble holding it. “Don’t move around! Your wound just managed to stop bleeding.” The little fox quietly nestled in her arms and stopped talking.
“I thought you were weak just now, but you have quite a lot of energy when you’re swearing,” Yue Wenqiu pinched the little fox’s warm, soft ear.
The little fox twitched its ear, turned its head, and ignored him.
“I’ll have the Song family’s physician take a look,” Jiang Luoyue said, standing up with it in her arms.
“Alright. It looks like it only has external injuries. Though they look scary, treatment shouldn’t be difficult,” Yue Wenqiu nodded.
“Then you two continue eating,” Jiang Luoyue said, and ran out.
“How unreliable…” the little fox muttered softly. This cat litter scooper really doesn’t know how to take care of a fox. Jiang Luoyue, realizing her mistake, held it a little steadier. “I’m sorry. I’ll run slower.”
Jiang Luoyue hadn’t expected this little fox to be so demanding. Although injured, it was very good at ordering people around. Never mind. It was my fault for not being careful and gentle enough with an injured creature.
The physician looked at the little fox Jiang Luoyue brought and felt a little helpless. The young miss has only been here for a few days, and the workload is already non-stop. The physician performed a quick initial examination on the little fox. “The injury is not serious. I’ll apply some medicine to it and have the maid send it to the young miss later.”
“Alright, thank you for your trouble,” Jiang Luoyue said, taking out the Spiritual Energy Pills and Essence Nourishment Pills that the System had given her before from her storage pouch. “These are for you. You don’t need to return the rest.”
