The Investment Mogul Calls Himself my Husband - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Announcement
“Hmm, I’ll talk to my sister about it when I get back,” Su Yi said.
Wang Xia: “Alright. I’ll head back and prepare as well. If you move over, Xiao Le’s school will also need to change; I’ll handle the transfer procedures.”
Su Yi nodded. In his previous life, Wang Xia always arranged everything perfectly for him.
After Wang Xia left, Su Yi packed up his stall and took Xiao Le to find Qian Qian.
“Uncle, did that sister just say I’m going to transfer schools?” Xiao Le held Su Yi’s hand, tilting his small head up to ask.
“Does Xiao Le want to transfer? Actually, either way is fine; it mainly depends on whether you are willing.”
“I’m willing to do anything. Wherever Uncle and Mama go, Xiao Le goes.”
“Hmm, Xiao Le is so good.”
When Qian Qian saw Xiao Le and Qian Xu walking toward her, she crouched down and hugged her son. She hadn’t seen him for a whole day; though it had been less than twenty-four hours, she missed him immensely!
“Uncle picked you up from school; is Xiao Le happy?”
“Happy.” Xiao Le hugged his mother; he had missed her too.
“Sis, I’ve terminated my contract and signed with another place.” Su Yi handed the termination contract to Qian Qian. “Also, the new company provided housing. In the future, we don’t need to rent anymore. It just so happens the rent here expires this month; we can move over there.”
“You really terminated it? It’s not that you don’t want to…” Qian Qian looked at the contract in surprise and joy, then heard him say he had signed with someone else. “It’s all good. Whatever you choose, Sister supports you.”
Su Yi nodded: “Hmm. Sis, let’s move tomorrow.”
“Xiao Xu, can we all live there? Will the company have an issue with it? How about Xiao Le and I continue living here? We’re used to it, and it’s convenient for his school,” Qian Qian said with some hesitation.
Su Yi knew she would have such worries and comforted her: “Don’t worry, Sis. This company’s boss is very kind; they’ve allowed us to move in together. They will also arrange Xiao Le’s school transfer; the school over there is bilingual.”
“Bilingual…” Qian Qian rubbed her hands together awkwardly. Bilingual was good, but those tuition fees weren’t something they could afford.
“Sis, you don’t need to worry about tuition expenses. This contract is very fair, and I can start working immediately. By then, paying Xiao Le’s tuition will be more than enough.”
“Xiao Xu, what kind of company is it? If the benefits are too good, could there be a problem? It’s better to check clearly.” There were many things in the entertainment industry Qian Qian didn’t understand, but she knew no company would be that good to someone for no reason. She was afraid he had just escaped the tiger’s den only to enter a wolf’s lair.
“It’s Yi-Xia Studio—the one that belonged to Su Yi.” Su Yi knew from Qian Xu’s memories that his sister, Qian Qian, watched his movies.
Qian Qian: “Su Yi’s studio? Isn’t it true they aren’t signing anyone anymore?”
Su Yi: “…….”
He hadn’t expected his sister to follow his studio’s updates.
Su Yi helplessly spun a lie: “Well, there was an audition yesterday, and Su Yi’s manager happened to be there. She saw my performance and felt there were shadows of Su Yi in it. Later, she contacted me saying she wanted to sign me. It was only because Yi-Xia Studio stepped in that I was able to terminate my contract smoothly.”
“Oh, so that’s how it is. That’s good then.” Hearing his explanation, Qian Qian finally felt at ease, a long-absent smile appearing on her face.
Seeing the smile finally return to her face, Su Yi was relieved that the reputation of his studio was still solid: “Wang Xia will release the signing announcement soon, so Sister really doesn’t need to worry.”
Qian Qian: “Is it that manager of Su Yi, Wang Xia?”
Seeing his sister’s wide eyes, Su Yi nodded: “It’s her. She’ll be the one leading me from now on; she’s my manager.”
“Wang Xia is your manager? That’s fantastic! With Wang Xia there, no one will bully you anymore, Xiao Xu. Sister can truly be at peace now.” Qian Qian let out a long breath. She felt her brother was finally going to have his breakthrough; it was truly wonderful.
“Then Sis, let’s all move there together. The house is very large. I’ll be very busy once I start filming; if you and Xiao Le live there, I’ll be more at ease,” Su Yi said.
“Yes, alright. We’ll move together. I won’t set up the stall tomorrow; I’ll go ask about Xiao Le’s transfer first.” A spark of light returned to Qian Qian’s quiet eyes.
“Wang Xia will help handle the transfer. We just need to pack our things and move tomorrow.”
“Will that be too much trouble for Wang Xia?”
“No. It just so happens he’s transferring to the same school her son attends. She’s familiar with it, and her son is the same age as Xiao Le. They can go to class together normally; that way, Xiao Le will have a companion and it won’t feel too strange.”
Qian Qian nodded repeatedly, the smile on her face growing wider: “That’s great. Truly great.”
…
Qing Manor
“Why didn’t you call to tell me then!” As soon as Zhuang Qingyuan heard that Qian Xu had a wound on his wrist that was dripping blood, he lost his composure and headed outside as if losing his mind.
“Why would he slit his wrists? Does he not want to come back? Does he want to leave again? What use is a Band-Aid? He simply doesn’t want to return and wants to leave again!”
“Zhuang Qingyuan, stop! Can you listen to me finish before you go crazy?” Huo Yang ran over to block him. “Wang Xia went to meet Qian Xu at the gate of Cloud Primary School today.”
Zhuang Qingyuan froze in place upon hearing this and asked: “Who did you say? Who went to see him!”
“Wang Xia. Wang Xia. Did you hear clearly?” Huo Yang said. “I thought you were just purely going mad, but I didn’t expect you to actually be right.”
Zhuang Qingyuan looked up, his deep eyes glowing like a meteor carrying hope, lighting up a hopeless dark night: “Wang Xia… he really saw Wang Xia. So it really is him.”
“Since he went to see Wang Xia, he won’t leave again.”
Although Zhuang Qingyuan had already decided in his heart that it was Su Yi, he had no proof. Now, Wang Xia’s appearance was the best evidence.
Su Yi had really come back!
“Yes. If I’m not mistaken, he’ll be returning to Yi-Xia Studio very soon.” Huo Yang breathed a sigh of relief seeing Zhuang Qingyuan was no longer acting insane. “Although I thought it was absurd at first when you said Qian Xu was Su Yi… it seems you guessed right.”
“Having seen Wang Xia means he will stay in the entertainment industry, so he won’t leave again.” Zhuang Qingyuan finally calmed down completely and even gave Huo Yang a smile. “Huo Yang, he’s really back. It’s really him.”
“Madman!” Huo Yang rolled his eyes at Zhuang Qingyuan. “You only know how to go crazy when it involves Su Yi!”
“That injury must have been left by Qian Xu; otherwise, how could he inexplicably become Qian Xu?”
Huo Yang simply didn’t want to deal with this man anymore. “I told you earlier to get him into Qingyi directly. Now look, he’s gone back to Yi-Xia. From now on, he still has nothing to do with you, Zhuang Qingyuan.”
Hearing about the meeting with Wang Xia, the corners of Zhuang Qingyuan’s mouth turned up high and stayed there: “As long as he is still alive and well, there will be a connection!”
“You’d better remember that his car accident was man-made. If that person finds out he didn’t die, they will definitely strike again. So until we find out who did it, you’d better keep a low profile and don’t let anyone know he is Su Yi.” After giving his instructions, Huo Yang turned and left.
Being an assistant to a madman like Zhuang Qingyuan was too much suffering—overtime work and all. He’d rather go back to the Huo family and wait for death as a useless person.
After Huo Yang left, Zhuang Qingyuan also drove away from Qing Manor alone.
The car drove to the old residential area where Su Yi currently lived and stalled. In the data Zhuang Qingyuan had obtained, Qian Xu’s current address was clearly written.
On the sixth floor, a small two-bedroom apartment where Qian Xu lived with his sister and nephew.
Zhuang Qingyuan lit a cigarette, held it in his mouth, and kept his gaze fixed on the sixth-floor window, where a busy silhouette appeared from time to time.
…
“Uncle, are we really moving tomorrow?” Xiao Le was so happy to hear they were moving to a house with a yard.
A classmate of his had a yard at home and could raise small animals he liked. If possible, he wanted to raise a snow-white puppy too.
“Yes. Once we move, how about Uncle builds an outdoor climbing area in the yard for Xiao Le?” Su Yi rubbed Xiao Le’s head.
“Okay! Anything is good; Xiao Le likes everything Uncle builds.” Xiao Le hopped and skipped happily around Qian Xu.
“Xiao Le, no more jumping. Don’t disturb the aunties and uncles downstairs.” Qian Qian walked over and shooed Xiao Le to sit on the sofa, then turned on the TV for him so he would watch quietly for a while.
Su Yi moved the packed boxes to one side, then opened the window to step onto the balcony for some fresh air.
Looking downstairs, he saw that pitch-black, shiny Maybach parked at the entrance of the school at a single glance!
Su Yi: “…….”
Is this person’s first time stalking? Does he not know how conspicuous such a car is in a dilapidated old neighborhood?
“Sis, you guys should rest early after packing. I’m going down to get some air,” Su Yi said, taking his keys and heading downstairs.
Zhuang Qingyuan hadn’t intended to go back tonight, planning to stay in the car all night. He had just reclined the seat when there was a knock on the window.
Zhuang Qingyuan saw Qian Xu’s face appear outside the window. He… he was discovered!
Fortunately, he had acted on a sudden impulse and for some reason kept the windows rolled up.
Don’t move. Absolutely do not move. Absolutely must not be discovered by Su Yi, otherwise I’ll leave the negative impression of a stalker and Su Yi will hate me!
After all, Su Yi hated sasaengs the most; he hated others stalking or spying on his private domain!
Zhuang Qingyuan was so worried he didn’t even dare to breathe loudly. After a long time, the knocking stopped, and Su Yi turned and left.
Only after confirming Su Yi had really gone did Zhuang Qingyuan let out a long breath; he had nearly suffocated himself!
I can’t follow him like this; it’ll be bad if I’m discovered.
…
Su Yi stood at the corner, watching the car drive out of the neighborhood. He never saw the person inside get out, and because the car’s privacy was too good, he couldn’t see inside at all. Thus, even after waiting for a long time, he didn’t know who was in the car.
He was currently just a small actor; who would be bored enough to stake him out? Could it be Qiu Liang?
But he quickly dismissed it. If it were that old thing Qiu Liang, he wouldn’t be this non-disruptive.
However, Qiu Liang would certainly cause trouble in the future; he had to find a way to deal with this hidden danger.
Ultimately unable to figure out who it could be, Su Yi stopped dwelling on it and went back upstairs.
“Xiao Xu, look quickly! Wang Xia has already released the announcement.” Since returning, Qian Qian had been following the updates of Yi-Xia Studio, and just now, the studio really did release the announcement of signing Qian Xu.
Announcement: “Hello everyone, I am Wang Xia. I’m coming up here to slap my own face. Yi-Xia Studio has officially signed actor @QianXu today. I hope everyone can support Qian Xu in the future just as you supported Su Yi. Thank you!”
Seeing this announcement, Su Yi could guess that Wang Xia was surely being torn apart in the comments section!
[Qian Xu? Who is Qian Xu! Can someone tell me!]
[Support him like we supported Su Yi? On what grounds! Is he worthy!]
[Wang Xia, I misjudged you. Su Yi has only been gone for a little while, the killer hasn’t been found yet, and you’re already signing a newcomer and telling us to support him like Su Yi? Do you even have a heart!]
[My heart has gone cold at this moment. Su Yi once said Wang Xia was not only his manager but his best friend. If he knew his so-called best friend treated him like this, how hurt would he be!]
[It hurts so much. Even Wang Xia has betrayed Su Yi. Does no one really care about Su Yi anymore? My heart aches…]
[I care!]
[And me!]
[We all care!]
[Wang Xia, from now on our Su Yi has nothing to do with you. The studio should change its name immediately. Don’t use the name of Yi-Xia Studio to leach off our Su Yi’s popularity anymore.]
