- The Honest Man Was Targeted by His Ex-Boyfriend's Alpha Brother
- Chapter 23 - Control: Why Exactly Are You Doing This to Me?
“Did you hear something?” Chen Yu Xi suddenly stopped beside Hua Yunlian’s car.
Qiao Yuan looked around and shook her head in confusion. The two of them began to focus, straining their ears. Separated only by a car door, a sweat-drenched, erotic scene was unfolding in the driver’s seat.
Due to years of fitness and genetic influence, Hua Yunlian’s waist was lean, resilient, and powerful; his beautiful serratus muscles and abs were exceptionally striking. A trembling Chen Wang covered his mouth tightly, forcing himself not to make a sound. Every sense was teasing his nerves.
He buried his face in the crook of Hua Yunlian’s neck, not daring to look up. He was so tense that his ears were ringing. The man beneath him let out a muffled, raspy chuckle. “Brother, relax a little. Are you trying to turn me into a one-minute man?”
Chen Wang bit down hard on his shoulder, then managed a fragmented threat. “If you ever let someone find out, I will hang myself at your company gate!”
He sounded incredibly fierce. Hua Yunlian let out a helpless gasp and chuckled, casually pressing a button. “This car is vibration-proof even if the sky falls, not to mention the privacy film.” As the seatback slowly flattened, Hua Yunlian asked, “Is this better?”
Chen Wang clung to him as if he had nowhere else to hide. Their scalding body temperatures intertwined, making them appear inseparable. In reality, Chen Wang’s personality was too mild and traditional; not only did he have no tricks in bed, but he never even initiated a hug.
Hua Yunlian gripped his skin, his long fingers sinking into the snowy-white flesh. This brother of his was quite thin, but the places that were supposed to have meat were truly hot. A bit of warmth finally appeared on the man’s cold, thin face. Having tasted the sweetness, he began to demand more like a madman.
By the time they finished, Qiao Yuan’s car was long gone. Chen Wang lay on the reclined passenger seat, his eyes dazed, his pale bare legs covered by Hua Yunlian’s suit jacket. The car was filled with the lingering scent of their encounter; it was a total mess.
Hua Yunlian showed no signs of fatigue. Looking perfectly normal, he tidied his appearance. Others needed a cup of coffee to wake up in the afternoon, but he felt refreshed after a session with Chen Wang. How could a person like this, a Beta with no pheromones and someone as bland as plain water, do this to him?
He glanced sideways. The man was struggling to prop himself up, the suit jacket sliding off his lean, beautiful shoulders as he began to get dressed. Chen Wang saw through the privacy film that the other car was gone. With a slightly nasal voice, he asked, “What was that brat Chen Yu Xi doing here?”
The window rolled down slightly. An orange blossom scent ignited at Hua Yunlian’s lips, smoke swirling around his gloomy features. He scoffed. “If those two end up together, I will probably have to settle some scores with her.”
Chen Wang stiffened. The probability was too high. His sister was quite popular among Omegas. He hurriedly denied it. “No, the gap in their family backgrounds is too large. Miss Qiao would not like Yu Xi.”
“Oh?” Hua Yunlian narrowed his eyes and playfully exhaled smoke toward him. Seeing Chen Wang choke and blush, his mood improved greatly. “Who says it has to be about liking? What if your sister is like you, and Miss Qiao takes her as a kept woman?”
Chen Wang’s face turned ashen, his expression becoming dead serious. “Then I will break her legs! I spend money to put her through school not so she can become rich and famous, but at least not so she can do this. One person in the family doing this is enough.” He said this resentfully, a flash of loneliness in his eyes.
Hua Yunlian puffed on his cigarette, lost in thought. For some reason, he always felt that Chen Wang did not take him seriously, as if everyone and everything else in Chen Wang’s life was more important than him. He asked himself: I do not think I treat him poorly.
“What, do you find it shameful?” Hua Yunlian’s gaze sharpened, his tone turning sarcastic. “You should think carefully: is it more comfortable to be fucked by me, or more comfortable to be chased and beaten by debt collectors every day?”
Chen Wang wanted to say something, but the words died in his throat.
Hua Yunlian continued, “From now on, remember to stay clean and ready. You must answer the phone within three seconds. When I tell you to come, you must come immediately.”
The veins in Chen Wang’s forehead throbbed. He could not help but rub his aching inner thighs. His voice was flat and cold. “President Hua, I hope you can also consider a normal person’s working hours and physical condition. I have to pay back my debt to you every month. Unless it is the weekend, it is impossible for me to be on call at all times.”
A surge of nameless anger rose in Hua Yunlian, his brows knitting tightly. Was he being rejected? Before he could say more, Chen Wang had already climbed out of the passenger seat. Though his gait was still a bit awkward, he stubbornly slammed the door and limped away.
The man laughed out of sheer irritation. “Fine.”
Chen Wang was a man of few hobbies. He spent his free time reading papers and organizing work materials; he was the ultimate dedicated employee. His hard work was recognized by both his superiors and colleagues. However, on Monday, when he arrived at the hospital to clock in, the facial recognition failed to identify him.
A large red X warning lit up the screen. Chen Wang frowned in confusion. “What is going on?” He tried several more times with no success. Just then, he ran into the department director and was called directly into the office.
“Xiao Chen, your performance has been clear to everyone. But our hospital is a small place, and our human resources are tight. You graduated from the Federal Medical University; you should see more of the world. Staying here is truly a waste of your talent.”
After a long speech, Chen Wang finally understood: he was being illegally fired. If there were a legitimate reason, he would have nothing to say. But to praise his work while removing his name without prior notice made him furious. Chen Wang pleaded repeatedly, promising not to take leave again, but he still lost the job. He had not been there long, and as a small hospital acting like thugs, there was no way for him to fight back.
However, the director, feeling a twinge of guilt, gave him a compensation package. Hao Pingfan ran out to see him off, clearly reluctant to see him go. “Brother Chen, we can still be friends even if we are not colleagues. Call me if you need anything!”
“Yes, this is so sudden,” Xiao Han said. “Did you offend someone?”
Hao Pingfan added, “Other colleagues were joking that Young Master Chen was going home to inherit the family business. It seems you did not leave voluntarily.”
Sensing something was wrong, as he had never offended anyone at work, Chen Wang did not have much time to think before receiving a call from the taxi company. To maintain his dignity, he had kept up his rich second-generation persona; no one at the hospital knew he also drove a taxi. After a quick goodbye to his former colleagues, he hurried to another road, answering the phone as he walked.
Then, he was “honored” with a second job loss.
Chen Wang’s grip on his phone tightened, the blue veins on the back of his hand bulging. A ball of fire churned in his chest. Even he, who never used profanity, could not help but curse. “Damn it.” At this point, even an idiot could see who was behind this!
At the Hua Group headquarters, Chen Wang stood at the security gate, his handsome face cold as he tried to push through. “Tell Hua Yunlian to get down here right now!”
Several security guards rushed forward in alarm to stop him. But seeing that the visitor was a refined-looking Beta, lacking the intimidation of an Alpha or the potential for an emotional scandal like an Omega, they relaxed. “You are looking for President Hua? Do you have an appointment? What is this regarding?”
Chen Wang said sharply, “He is a shameless, lawless criminal! He is a beast with no empathy! Tell him to get down here!”
No one knew where he got the courage to shout like this at the headquarters. Seeing they could not handle him, the guards prepared to use riot gear. Secretary Mary passed by and immediately intervened with a serious expression. “This is a friend of President Hua. I will take him up.”
The furious Chen Wang finally calmed down slightly. Panting, he thanked the gentle and rational female Beta. The moment he entered the CEO’s office, Chen Wang rushed toward Hua Yunlian. The man had just smilingly sent off a business partner and almost caught Chen Wang in his arms, his eyes narrowing with a hint of enjoyment.
“Come here to do it?”
Chen Wang’s face, red with anger, stiffened. He caught a glimpse of Secretary Mary quietly withdrawing and did not care about anything else. He asked furiously, “Did you get me fired from all my jobs?”
Hua Yunlian disdained small tasks like pouring tea, but he personally poured a cup for him anyway. Before he could hand it over, Chen Wang slapped it away. The hot water scalded the man’s pale hand, which immediately turned red and began to blister. Hua Yunlian was neither angry nor vocal. He silently admired the way a scholar looked when they were enraged. It was quite beautiful. He wanted to fuck him.
Chen Wang’s emotions collapsed. “You ruined my jobs for no reason! Why? What did I do to offend you this time? Just because I snapped at you yesterday? Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to find work!”
The pain of being framed for plagiarism by rich kids when he graduated resurfaced in his mind. He screamed, “Hua Yunlian, why exactly are you doing this to me!”
If Chen Wang had pheromones, they would have flooded the office by now. The arrogant Alpha sat back in his leather chair, crossing his legs. He said unhurriedly, “Brother Chen Wang, I have thought about it, and I have been far too lenient with you. When I need you, I have to ask three or four times. You are always working, always putting me last.”
Chen Wang was livid. “I am doing it to pay back the debt!”
“That is your problem,” Hua Yunlian interrupted coldly, his emotions exceptionally stable. “If you do not feed me, I will punish you.” His crude, selfish logic almost made Chen Wang faint from anger. “I am going to sue you!”
Hua Yunlian spread his hands. “Go ahead, if you can afford the legal fees. I have a meeting now. You can rest.” He stood up, laughing coldly as he patted Chen Wang’s shoulder on his way out.
Chen Wang’s fists clenched tighter, his body trembling. The original contract was clear in black and white; he was paying back the debt and interest every month as agreed. If Hua Yunlian was dissatisfied, he could have spoken to him directly instead of cutting off his means of repayment. Was he trying to tie him to his side forever?
Hua Yunlian was right; Chen Wang truly could not afford a lawyer. But given his personality, as long as there was a chance to struggle, he would not just take this humiliation lying down. Over the next few days, he began collecting evidence. He looked for evidence of President Hua Yunlian’s chaotic private life, his illegal interference with others’ work, and his malicious dismissal.
Chen Wang acted almost like a secret agent, staking out near the group every day, fully disguised in a hoodie and mask. He already had many photos of Hua Yunlian’s daily schedule on his phone. Once he finished checking those, he would look for more concrete proof. That night, Chen Wang sat cross-legged on the sofa, carefully inspecting the photos. Wearing his silver half-rimmed glasses, he peered closely. In every single photo, the blurry figure of Hua Yunlian was making a subtle gesture.
Chen Wang was startled. Was this guy involved in some cult? It was not until he flipped to a clearer photo that he saw it: Hua Yunlian was looking directly at his hidden camera and flashing a peace sign.
Late at night, at a newly opened bar, the atmosphere was lively. Handsome men and beautiful women danced in the ballroom, and clear liquor was poured into glasses, staining the ice cubes like colorful jewels. Hua Yunlian was a bit drunk, his fingers tapping lazily against the rim of his glass.
“You went a bit far, did you not? How could you get him fired?” In the booth, his friend Ji Yanxing frowned slightly.
Hua Yunlian did not care. “Why would he not revolve around me? Other people’s little lovers spend all day getting cosmetic treatments or having afternoon tea, doing everything they can to please. But him? His temper is as stiff as a board. When he is angry, he even dares to hit me.”
Ji Yanxing was noncommittal. “You did not exactly give him the money for afternoon tea, did you?”
“Believe me, if he had money, he would fly away from me instantly,” Hua Yunlian said, shooting him a cold look. “This is the only way he will stay by my side obediently.”
Ji Yanxing was different; he looked down on such crude methods. “I attracted my wife with my personal charm.”
Hua Yunlian despised the way Ji Yanxing held his wife in his palm and doted on her constantly. It was pathetic. “Our statuses are different; do not try to compare us.” The young master said with a disdainful smirk. “With one phone call, Chen Wang has to be here. Does he dare not show up?”
He took out his phone, intending to call the man over to demonstrate his status. He happened to feel like kissing anyway. His friends, sensing Hua Yunlian’s unique attitude toward Chen Wang, watched with expectant eyes. Several calls went to a busy signal.
Hua Yunlian’s handsome face gradually darkened. He opened a surveillance tracking app. The red dot was currently a hundred thousand miles away from the city center. He was furious. “Damn it, he actually dared to run!”
