- Chapter 6 - The Major General Won't Disappoint Me, Right?
Asher lingered outside the male’s bedroom door for a long time.
At first, he agonized over whether he should take a shower, but then he felt he was overthinking things. Perhaps the male simply wanted to whip him. After a moment of hesitation, Asher finally knocked on the door.
Inside, Cen Li’s muscles tightened. He looked toward the closed door and took a deep breath, forcing himself to relax.
“Enter.”
Having received the male’s permission, Asher pushed the door open. The moment he saw Cen Li on the bed, he quickly averted his gaze.
“Kneel.”
Cen Li recited his line. Asher’s heart settled back into place. As expected, his master simply wanted to punish him.
Military females possessed powerful regenerative abilities. Even if they were left covered in scars from a male’s lashing, they would be as lively as ever within two days. Asher was about to kneel when he suddenly noticed that a carpet had been laid out in the master’s room at some point.
Asher did not hesitate. He took a step back and knelt directly on the cold, hard floor instead. Watching the military female’s actions from the doorway, Cen Li’s pulse throbbed at his temples. He had specifically ordered the robot bugs to lay down that carpet; he had not expected Asher to still choose to kneel on the icy wooden planks.
It seemed the original owner’s image was far too deeply ingrained in the female’s heart. Asher did not dare to be clever, fearing the male would find yet another reason to punish him. Cen Li had not forgotten that Asher had knelt on broken glass earlier that day. Even with the formidable recovery rate of a military female, the wounds would not heal that quickly.
Cen Li thought irritably that even one electric shock was painful for him, let alone Asher, who was kneeling again and again on the injuries on his knees.
Cen Li kept a stern face. “Why are you kneeling so far away? Come here.”
Asher obediently moved forward. He pondered whether he should find a distance that was neither too close nor too far from the male so as not to provoke his displeasure. As if sensing Asher’s internal monologue, Cen Li beckoned him, signaling for him to come to his side.
Asher hesitated no longer. He walked to the bedside and knelt, a mere arm’s length away from Cen Li. If the male simply reached out his hand, he could touch him. At such close proximity, Asher instinctively felt uneasy. He would have preferred kneeling on the hard floor from before.
“Why don’t you dare look up at me?”
Asher’s body tensed for a split second before he looked up as his master commanded. However, in the next breath, Cen Li spoke again.
“Looking at you like this makes you even more of an eyesore.”
The moment he locked eyes with Asher, those beautiful amber orbs clearly reflected a hideous, terrifying face. It was a face that the original owner could not help but feel enraged by. His own physical defects caused the original owner to suffer from extreme insecurity. If anyone else’s gaze lingered on him for too long, he could not help but overthink and fly into a rage.
Asher’s flawless face and perfect body secretly triggered the darkness in his heart, driving him to commit insane acts. Eventually, the original owner would pathologically tear off Asher’s wings, leaving the female incomplete.
Cen Li, forced to follow the plot, wailed internally, “I feel like a total psychopath right now!”
The System comforted him, “Host, just bear with it and it will pass.”
Hearing the male’s words, Asher submissively lowered his eyes. He was still wearing the same military uniform from earlier. Cen Li’s gaze swept over it before he spoke in a low, eerie tone.
“Go take a shower.”
Asher’s pupils contracted, and his body became incredibly rigid. The male urged him again. “What are you dawdling for?”
Asher struggled to suppress the emotions surging within him and walked toward the bathroom inside the room. Cen Li withdrew his gaze from Asher’s stiff movements and sighed silently. Look at how terrified this bug is.
Asher stayed in the bathroom for quite a while. Cen Li was initially nervous, but eventually, the wait made him so drowsy that he could not help but yawn. If he had not heard the faint sound of water, Cen Li would have thought the female was intentionally stalling for time.
The rising steam blurred Asher’s features, yet his slightly furrowed brows were still visible. He hesitated for a moment, and finally, he slowly reached his hand behind himself.
Just as Cen Li was becoming impatient, the click of the door opening echoed. Cen Li looked up.
Asher had changed into soft pajamas. His freshly blow-dried hair was fluffy and smooth, with a few stray strands falling over his forehead, lending him a quiet, well-behaved look he usually lacked.
Cen Li narrowed his eyes. “過來.” (Come here.)
Asher’s calves felt stiff as he walked over unnaturally. After a moment, Cen Li stared at the female standing a long distance away and arched an eyebrow. “What? Are you afraid of me? Or are you unwilling?”
Asher pursed his lips. “Neither, Master.”
He moved a few steps closer until he was almost pressed against the male before he heard the other speak.
“I heard that the Major General received an outstanding A in every course at the military academy. I presume that includes the physiology class as well, yes?”
Asher nodded stiffly. “Yes, Master.”
Cen Li smiled. “Then, Asher, show me what you have learned. The Major General, hailed as the Light of the Empire, certainly won’t disappoint me, right?”
The male’s voice left no room for negotiation, carrying a mounting pressure. Asher had no standing to refuse the male’s request. He repeated mechanically, “Yes, Master.”
Each word seemed squeezed out with great difficulty through gritted teeth. Asher climbed onto the bed, his slender fingertips slowly landing on his collar.
Cen Li’s eyes darkened. “Take it off.”
Only then did Asher take the next step. He was like a robot bug, only proceeding with an action after being given a specific command. The tips of his long, fair knuckles trembled slightly, much like the turbulent state of Asher’s heart.
His beautiful, youthful body was like a pure white canvas that had not yet been stained by a drop of ink. It slowly entered Cen Li’s vision. Cen Li’s face felt slightly hot. If it were not for the large black spots on his face masking his complexion, the female might have noticed his own lack of composure.
As his delicate skin was fully exposed, the chill in the air climbed up his body. Asher’s body flinched instinctively. He shot a cautious glance up at the male, then sat on his knees and reached out his hand.
“Master, please allow me to serve you.”
Cen Li did not speak, silently permitting the gesture. Major General Asher’s movements were clumsy and unpracticed. In the silent air, the crisp sound of a metal buckle being pulled open was particularly prominent.
Asher paused. Seeing that the male had no intention of stopping him, he had no choice but to continue reaching downward.
