- Chapter 32 - Pheromones on the Coat
A fine, dense heat gradually washed over his body. This sensation expanded until it was impossible to ignore.
Asher dug his nails deep into his palms, trying to find relief. However, other than a sharp sting, it did nothing to soothe the secret longing rising from within.
What had been mixed into that wine was now self-evident; it was nothing more than the kind of aphrodisiacs high-ranking males used on females to enhance the mood in bed.
A layer of coldness surfaced in the depths of Asher’s eyes. He had to leave this place immediately.
Asher quickened his pace.
Suddenly, a waiter coming from the opposite direction collided with him. Several wine glasses on the tray instantly toppled, splashing scarlet liquid all over Asher’s military uniform.
It was a massive, ugly stain.
The wine slid down the stiff fabric, soaking the hem until it was dripping wet. To be improperly dressed at a banquet was an extreme breach of etiquette.
“I’m so sorry! Are you alright?” “It’s all my fault for being so careless.”
The waiter frantically reached out to wipe the stain on Asher’s body. But how could it be wiped clean? Instead, the mess only became more smeared and unsightly.
Asher frowned, pushing the female away to keep his distance.
The waiter spoke again: “Let me take you upstairs to change your clothes.”
Asher’s gaze became scrutinizing. He stared until the guilt-ridden female grew uncomfortable and shifted his eyes away.
Asher suddenly turned his head and saw Michał watching him. Upon noticing Asher’s look, Michał turned away—as if it were a mere illusion—to resume his conversation with the person behind him.
“No need.”
Asher took a wary half-step back, maintaining a distant gap from the waiter.
“How can that be? This was a mistake in my work. Please, you must give me a chance to make amends!”
The waiter grew anxious, grabbing Asher’s sleeve with both hands, making it impossible for him to walk away.
“Let go.”
Asher forcibly pried the female’s fingers off. Ignoring the other’s frantic expression, he turned and walked away without looking back.
This waiter is definitely suspicious!
The abnormality in his body became increasingly obvious. The symptoms of his heat, which had previously been suppressed by his Master, surfaced all at once.
It came with a vengeance.
Asher had a premonition that if he did not leave right now, he would likely make a fool of himself in public. Where could a female go when he was in the middle of heat and dressed in such a disheveled state?
Asher wove through one guest after another. The path seemed exceptionally long. He kept his head down, struggling to keep his steps steady so no one would notice his condition.
Asher had already sent a message to Jero, asking him to bring an inhibitor. Though he was not sure if the inhibitor would work as intended, it was the best solution available at the moment.
His steps grew heavier. He knew he could not stall any longer.
He went upstairs, away from the crowds, and pulled open a door without looking closely, ducking inside.
The smell of familiar pheromones caused Asher’s body to tremble imperceptibly.
This is Master’s scent.
He forced his eyelids open and peered into the room. He had not expected that the door he opened by chance would lead to Cen Li’s room!
Perhaps because Cen Li had not been gone long, the faint scent of the male’s pheromones still lingered in the air. For Asher, who had just been soothed by his Master not long ago, this was a massive stimulus.
His body screamed at him to get closer.
Perhaps Master will not be back for a while, Asher thought wishfully. His hazy brain no longer allowed for complex reasoning.
Cen Li’s coat was still draped over a metal rack; it was the one he had worn that morning. Asher looked at the coat uncontrollably.
He grit his teeth, conflict flashing in his heart. A voice inside told him no, he could not do this. If Master found out, he would surely be angry.
But at this moment, Asher was governed by physical instinct.
The rich pheromones drifted into his nostrils, tempting him to draw closer and then closer still. The formal coat, having been worn by Cen Li for a long time, was saturated with a layer of pheromones that no female could resist.
Asher’s remaining consciousness fought against his bodily instincts. Ultimately, he could not resist taking the coat down.
After hesitating for a moment, he placed it against the tip of his nose and sniffed lightly. His eyes quivered, and every cell in his body seemed to relax. It felt as if he were being soaked in warm, gentle water.
A rosy flush covered Asher’s face as he finally surrendered. He buried himself in his Master’s coat.
In a moment that was both lucid and chaotic, he let his back slide slowly down against the door until he sat on the floor.
He was still thinking: If Master finds out, he will definitely be angry, will he not?
He was just like what Theia had said. He was no different from those other females who lusted after their Master.
Halfway through the banquet, Cen Li felt a bit hot. He went upstairs to take off a layer of clothing and rest for a while. After returning downstairs, he did not see Asher or the others in the hall.
Cen Li did not stay in the banquet hall for long, fearing those annoying bugs would pester him again. Instead, he went into the courtyard.
“This is not a good idea. If the Master finds out, he definitely will not forgive us!” “Stupid! Do we even have the right to refuse? If we do not do this, that person will not let us off either!” “Do not worry. I heard the Master does not like him at all and finds ways to torture him every day. Even if we are caught, nothing will happen to us.”
Cen Li was passing the kitchen when he heard a burst of conversation coming from inside. A few females were huddled together, plotting something.
Cen Li raised a foot to leave, intending not to meddle in others’ business.
[Humiliation Value +3] [Humiliation Value +3]
The system notification suddenly rang out.
Cen Li paused. Why would the Humiliation Value rise at a time like this? He had not done anything, had he?
Cen Li narrowed his eyes. The only possibility was that someone was doing something to Asher.
“Major General Asher has already been forced to drink the wine. You must find him immediately and bring him to that person!”
Hearing the Major General’s name, Cen Li finally moved. He walked toward the kitchen. The whispering females did not notice the figure approaching them from behind at all.
