The Heartless Alpha Just Wants to Follow the Plot - Chapter 50
When they were children, Gong Jiaojiao always loved playing house with Su Mo, constantly pestering her to “marry” her. Su Mo never agreed. In fact, whenever Gong Jiaojiao clung to her, Su Mo would deliberately hide, unwilling to deal with her.
But Gong Jiaojiao was a true face-connoisseur. Even as a child, Su Mo had been adorably round-cheeked, with large grape-like eyes full of pride and disdain for others. Gong Jiaojiao couldn’t bear to leave her side, insisting every day on playing together. At one point, she even wanted to arrange a childhood betrothal. But Su Mo’s grandfather, indulgent as ever, chose to ask Su Mo directly.
At just five years old, Su Mo already had her own strong sense of self. She refused outright, declaring she would never marry Gong Jiaojiao, nor ever like her.
That broke Gong Jiaojiao’s heart. She cried bitterly and left the Su household. Later, because of her father’s business, the family moved away, and she never returned.
This was their first meeting in years.
Gong Jiaojiao hadn’t changed much—still cute, with a doll-like face that looked flawless, her frilly dress making her seem less human and more like a porcelain doll come to life.
Su Mo, however, had changed greatly. She had grown into her features, transforming from a proud, pretty child into a queenly figure—distant, untouchable, someone ordinary people couldn’t hope to control.
Gong Jiaojiao had thought she’d grown immune to beauty. She had seen countless beauties over the years, surrounded by them constantly. She believed her horizons had broadened, that she would never again be moved by Su Mo’s face.
But seeing her now, she realized how wrong she was.
She would always be moved by this face.
Gong Jiaojiao gazed at Su Mo with fascination, sighing softly.
“Truly, no matter how many beauties I’ve seen, no matter how many faces I’ve touched, yours always stirs me the most.”
“You, you made my heart race as a child, and now you make it race even more. What am I supposed to do?”
Su Mo calmly ate a bite of food and replied without hesitation:
“Then go buy a box of my posters and plaster them all over your walls.”
Gong Jiaojiao: “…”
Resting her chin on her hand, she smiled brightly, unfazed by Su Mo’s sharpness.
“I like that temper too.”
After all, a beauty remained beautiful even when scowling.
“All these years, the thing I’ve missed most, besides your face is your attitude. Only you can insult me so sincerely. That tone, you’ve mastered it perfectly. No wonder you’re my No.1.”
Su Mo: “…”
She truly didn’t know what to say. Gong Jiaojiao’s personality seemed downright twisted.
Seeing Su Mo’s speechless expression, Gong Jiaojiao teased:
“Are you badmouthing me in your head? You used to say it to my face. Now you mutter it inside. Seems the entertainment industry has changed you.”
Su Mo: “…”
Why did it sound so irritating? Did the original Su Mo have no normal people around her?
“Anyway, I came today just to see you, so I can finally let go of my obsession.”
Crossing her legs, Gong Jiaojiao’s eyes lingered on Su Mo’s face, her smile wistful.
“You don’t think I still can’t let go, do you?”
She wasn’t a child anymore. She knew better.
“I agreed to come not just to see how you’ve grown, but also to know whether someone who once rejected me so firmly would ever marry an omega without love, just because your grandfather said so.”
“No.”
Su Mo’s voice was firm. “I won’t spend my life with someone I don’t love.”
“Like you, you know I won’t marry you. So, I’m grateful you helped me turn away others, saving me from embarrassment.”
Gong Jiaojiao covered her mouth and laughed.
“How do you know I didn’t come to see if you regretted it or to laugh at you?”
Su Mo relaxed slightly, answering softly:
“You’re not that kind of person.”
Gong Jiaojiao had her pride. That was why, after being rejected, she chose never to see Su Mo again. Her pride wouldn’t allow her to belittle others or go back on her word, no matter how much she liked someone.
It was precisely because of this that her father let her pursue what she loved. She had boundaries.
Sipping her coffee, Gong Jiaojiao exhaled.
“You really are infuriating. You never give anyone a chance, you reject them completely.”
“Treat me to a few more meals, introduce me to a beauty, and I’ll help you fend off the others. How about it?”
Su Mo refused instantly. “Not happening.”
“Stop tormenting others. People say troublemakers live a thousand years, but you’ve already lived enough for ten thousand.”
In Gong Jiaojiao’s world, beauty was everything. As long as someone was attractive, flaws in character could be overlooked. But she wasn’t one to suffer indignities. If someone’s personality or temper crossed her line, she would abandon them without hesitation, no matter how beautiful.
She was the type to fall in love easily, and discard just as easily. She had left countless people behind.
Even if Su Mo knew beauties, she would never introduce them to Gong Jiaojiao. She wouldn’t treat people like commodities.
“Don’t be so cold.”
Gong Jiaojiao stirred her coffee, then said with a sly smile:
“I think your agent is quite nice. Why not introduce her to me for fun?”
The moment those words left her mouth, Su Mo’s expression darkened.
“Before I truly lose my temper, I suggest you drop that idea.”
Gong Jiaojiao pouted.
“She’s just an agent. Why are you being so fierce? I only wanted to play with her, not eat her alive.”
“And besides, I’ve helped you with so many things, yet you don’t give me any reward. Isn’t that a bit much?”
Before she could continue, a hand gently rested on her shoulder. A soft voice, tinged with amusement, said:
“Rewards are usually agreed upon beforehand, aren’t they? Forcing someone like this isn’t very proper.”
“Mo.”
Su Mu hadn’t expected the newcomer to be someone she knew. She was about to rise and greet her when Miao Xiaoyu raised a finger to her lips and hushed her gently.
“No need to be so formal.”
Gong Jiaojiao stood up, displeased, ready to retort until she saw Miao Xiaoyu’s face. Classical, elegant, radiating a gentle aura that few possessed. She looked like someone with a naturally kind temperament.
Gong Jiaojiao’s eyes lit up. A beauty. A different kind of beauty.
Miao Xiaoyu withdrew her hand, her expression apologetic.
“I overheard your conversation. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. I just couldn’t help it. I hope you don’t mind.”
Gong Jiaojiao waved her hands quickly.
“No, no, it’s fine! We weren’t saying anything important. Come, sit with us.”
She scooted over, wiping the seat beside her with a napkin, inviting Miao Xiaoyu to join.
But from what she had overheard, Miao Xiaoyu wasn’t eager to sit with Gong Jiaojiao. She disliked irresponsible people, and detested those who toyed with others’ feelings and bodies. Unfortunately, Gong Jiaojiao fit both.
Miao Xiaoyu’s gaze shifted to Su Mo. Su Mo understood immediately, this woman had a kind of emotional purity, and Gong Jiaojiao’s behavior repelled her.
Su Mo rose and gestured. “Sit inside.”
Miao Xiaoyu: “Thank you.”
She didn’t hesitate, sliding into the seat.
Originally, she had come alone to enjoy a few favorite dishes. But overhearing such a conversation, and recognizing familiar faces, she felt compelled to step in. With the invitation extended, she joined them naturally, avoiding further awkward remarks from Gong Jiaojiao.
Su Mo had no objections. But Gong Jiaojiao, seeing Miao Xiaoyu ignore her and choose Su Mo’s side instead, couldn’t help but pout again. She’s beautiful, speaks well but she has no eye for people. Clearly, I’m better.
And in terms of reputation, wasn’t she superior to Su Mo, who was constantly surrounded by scandal? This woman has no taste at all.
Meanwhile, Qiu Fu and Si Yu, watching from across the room, were baffled. How did these three end up together?
They had never heard of Su Mo being close to Miao Xiaoyu, let alone dining together.
Si Yu muttered:
“Another one? Miao Xiaoyu is known as the ‘good person’ of the industry, the peacemaker. She rarely accepts private invitations. How is she suddenly with Su Mo?”
In the entertainment world, Su Mo was the troublemaker, the one who stirred things up. Miao Xiaoyu was the opposite—the mediator, the gentle one. Their public personas were polar opposites.
If not for auditions, they likely would never have crossed paths. Which was why Si Yu and Qiu Fu couldn’t fathom how they knew each other.
Su Mo herself was surprised. She had only met Miao Xiaoyu once before. Why was she choosing to help her now?
“Mo-jie, why are you alone? Where’s your assistant?”
Seeing Miao Xiaoyu appear without anyone else, Su Mo was even more puzzled. She herself rarely went out without an assistant, except for private matters like this. Usually, she was accompanied by her agent Pu Ying or staff.
But Miao Xiaoyu had come alone. Wasn’t she worried about troublemakers or overzealous fans?
Miao Xiaoyu replied calmly:
“I just came to eat. My assistant isn’t here.”
She didn’t see anything wrong with it. It wasn’t work time. Her assistant had her own life. She simply wanted to enjoy her meal, no need for company.
Su Mu: “I see.”
Miao Xiaoyu: “Mm.”
Gong Jiaojiao kept trying to insert herself into their conversation, but neither Su Mo nor Miao Xiaoyu paid her any attention. She couldn’t get a word in.
Frustrated, she glared at Su Mo. Can’t you let me say something? I want to talk to the beauty too!
