The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 57
One day, Ruan Wei lay idly on the bed, swinging her fair and slender legs while scrolling through interstellar gossip.
After exhausting the latest rumors, she switched to checking her friends’ updates, only to stumble upon a bombshell.
“Sister, come look at this!” Ruan Wei turned her head just as Jun Jue set aside what she was doing and walked over.
“What is it, Weiwei?”
“Look at this! did Jiang Tang and Sister Tao get together?” Ruan Wei asked excitedly.
Jun Jue’s gaze shifted from Ruan Wei’s face to the screen of her neural comm.
A post from Jiang Tang read:
“Then let’s be together through three meals and four seasons.”
Accompanying it was a photo of two tightly clasped hands.
Jun Jue curled her lips slightly and nodded.
“That’s wonderful! Sister Tao and Sister Jiang Tang have finally found their happy ending,” Ruan Wei said, genuinely happy for them.
She wondered if her little scheme had played any part in it.
Ruan Wei continued scrolling through the post with interest, reading the official announcement and then the flood of lively well-wishes below.
A string of “99” (a homophone for “forever” in Chinese) and playful teasing from many familiar faces filled the comments.
Jiang Lan: “You finally got into a relationship, treat her well.”
“Hahaha, Sister Jiang Lan sounds so earnest.”
Jiang Li: “Second Sister, you’ve changed. You actually know how to flaunt your love and spread dog food now.” [Shocked retreating stick figure jpg]
Ruan Wei’s eyes crinkled with laughter as she began typing a message, but Jun Jue was faster, sending a simple “Congratulations.”
Ruan Wei quickly followed up with the same words, adding a few firework emojis.
Before long, both received responses from Jiang Tang.
Jiang Tang: “Thanks to Madam Weiwei’s brilliant strategy. This bowl of blood has now become a testament to my love with Miss Tao.” [A bowl of coagulated blood jpg]
Ruan Wei: “Sister Jiang Tang, did you cut your wrist?!” [Sweating emoji jpg]
Jiang Tang: “It’s fine. Thank you, Madam Weiwei.”
Jun Jue, however, received a reply with a completely different tone, a private message from Jiang Tang.
“Chief Executive, I’ve earned my love badge too.”
Attached was a photo: [Neck hickey jpg]
After a moment’s thought, Jun Jue sent Jiang Tang a set of “Keep it up” emojis.
Jiang Tang replied publicly in the comments, tagging both Jun Jue and Ruan Wei: “The Chief Executive and Madam Weiwei truly are a married couple, both fond of using last-century emojis.”
“Last century?” Ruan Wei blinked in confusion.
Jun Jue: “…”
Jiang Li, spotting the notification, clicked in to check, only to see her second sister’s overly triumphant remark. She immediately sent a private message.
“Second Sister, shut up already. You’re getting carried away.”
“Okay.” Jiang Tang was unusually receptive to Jiang Li’s advice these days, having realized her younger sister was often right.
Jiang Li: “…”
What had she done to deserve this? When her second sister was single, she had to play matchmaker and wingwoman. Now that her second sister was in a relationship, she had to double as a love security guard.
Meanwhile, her own love life was still nowhere in sight.
…
Jun Jue had taken Ruan Wei across half the galaxy during their honeymoon.
As they packed to return, Jun Jue said to Ruan Wei, who was sprawled limply on the bed, “Weiwei, we’ll visit the remaining places when we have time.”
“Okay,” Ruan Wei replied, lacking her usual enthusiasm.
“What’s wrong, Weiwei?” Jun Jue set down the half-folded red knit dress in her hands and walked to the bedside. She leaned down, fingers brushing under Ruan Wei’s chin in a light tickle.
Ruan Wei giggled at the sensation and opened her eyes, grabbing Jun Jue’s hands with both of hers.
She buried her face and said, “Anyway, we can do that kind of thing at home. No need to go so far, and we can save money too.”
“What kind of thing?” Jun Jue smiled knowingly, teasing her.
“The thing you do several times a day…” Ruan Wei turned slightly, hiding her flushed face from Jun Jue’s view.
Suddenly, Jun Jue climbed onto the bed and pulled Ruan Wei into her arms. “Weiwei, you just reminded me.”
Ruan Wei was startled. “Aren’t we supposed to pack and return to the Federation? What are you doing, sister?”
“Doing what we do every day.”
Once back in the Federation, they would both be busy with work and have little time together. Today, Jun Jue’s demands carried a reckless abandon, like a final indulgence before the end.
Ruan Wei whimpered and yielded to her every desire, like a small boat tossed by wild waves, surrendering to the storm.
Then, Jun Jue slowed her movements, gently kissing Ruan Wei’s bright, damp eyes before her soft, wet hands moved elsewhere.
With tender strokes and teasing touches, she listened to the changes in Ruan Wei’s voice.
“Weiwei, you seem… bigger.”
It couldn’t be an illusion. There was a saying that certain things could grow with kneading, though Ruan Wei certainly didn’t need it.
“My belly… it seems bigger these past few days too. I’ve gained weight, wuwuwu…” Ruan Wei suddenly burst into tears. “This morning, I wanted to wear that new dress, but it was too tight, so I gave up.”
“Weiwei, it’s okay if you’ve gained a little weight. You’re still beautiful.” Jun Jue’s hand gently caressed Ruan Wei’s belly, pinching the soft flesh.
Ruan Wei looked down, pouting, her eyes fierce but lacking any real threat.
Jun Jue leaned down and kissed Ruan Wei’s belly, instantly dissolving her anger.
An hour later, Jun Jue carried Ruan Wei onto the starship, while robots handled their luggage.
Ruan Wei really was heavier than before, Jun Jue could feel it in her arms.
“Sister, am I much heavier than before?” Ruan Wei asked, arms wrapped around her neck, clearly concerned about her weight.
“Not much, just a little.”
“You’re lying, aren’t you? My belly and… there have all gotten bigger. How could it only be a little?” Ruan Wei said sadly.
This sudden weight gain had come without warning, and Jun Jue’s figure remained as perfect as ever, leaving Ruan Wei anxious.
“Weiwei, it’s fine. I could carry you even if you gained dozens more pounds,” Jun Jue reassured her.
“But…” Ruan Wei swallowed her words. Being plump had its own charm, but she just couldn’t accept how quickly her body had changed.
“Will you still love me if I get fat?” Ruan Wei asked with pleading eyes.
“Of course. But not if it affects your health.”
“I want to lose weight,” Ruan Wei declared.
“Are you sure?” Jun Jue pinched Ruan Wei’s soft cheeks, unable to resist their delightful texture.
“Yes!”
“Sister, you have to supervise me.”
“…Alright.”
Once aboard the starship, dinner time arrived quickly. A smart robot delivered a meal prepared by the chef.
Jun Jue set the table, while Ruan Wei circled it, sniffing the food before convincing herself she was full. Without waiting for Jun Jue to call her, she slipped back into their room alone.
Noticing the door left slightly ajar, Jun Jue smiled. “Weiwei, time to eat.”
“I’m on a diet. No dinner for me.”
Jun Jue shook her head with amusement and sat down to enjoy her meal at a leisurely pace.
Ruan Wei hid behind the crack of the door, sniffing hard as her stomach growled. The pangs of hunger waged an internal war within her, and in the end, her appetite won out.
Giving up delicious food entirely was simply too difficult for her.
She tiptoed behind Jun Jue, thinking she was being completely silent, when suddenly Jun Jue turned around and held a pair of chopsticks with a slice of beef to her lips. “Weiwei, try a bite for me.”
“Fine, just one bite then.”
Ruan Wei happily took a big bite and then couldn’t stop until she was full.
Regret immediately flooded her. When she returned to the hospital for work tomorrow, everyone would see how much rounder she’d gotten, as if she’d been inflated.
“Sister, do you think I might be sick?” Ruan Wei tried to find an excuse for her sudden weight gain.
“I’ll call a doctor to check on you.”
“No need!” Ruan Wei refused instantly. “I’ll go to the hospital myself tomorrow.”
Jun Jue soothingly stroked Ruan Wei’s head, though a sudden suspicion flickered in her mind, one she quickly dismissed as unlikely.
That night, considering Ruan Wei’s state, Jun Jue wrapped an arm around her waist and said with restraint, “You have work tomorrow. Let’s sleep early.”
But Ruan Wei burst into tears. “Sister, do you not like me anymore because I’ve gotten fat?”
“Of course not.”
Jun Jue kissed Ruan Wei’s teary eyes with utmost tenderness, and Ruan Wei took her hand, guiding it downward.
“Ah!”
Ruan Wei suddenly cried out in pain. “Sister, something just kicked me in the stomach…”
