- The General Was Pregnant with the Emperor's Child
- Chapter 28 - Climbing; Blatant Seduction
“Rest assured, General. Not every dream is the Emperor’s personal arrival; it’s likely only the ones after your pheromones became disordered.” The military doctor offered comfort.
“…If it’s just my own lecherous heart, isn’t that even more terrifying?” Ye Wuyou splayed his fingers over his face. He had dreamed too many times, and every time looked exactly like Xiao Yun’an. Lately, it was getting harder and harder to tell which were the real Emperor and which were his own fantasies.
The simplest solution was to treat them all as the real Emperor and prepare for the worst.
Thus, after that day, Ye Wuyou began a life of inverted days and nights. The military doctor was so angered by the General’s incredibly unhealthy schedule that his face practically twitched, but Ye Wuyou was as slippery as a loach. For three days, the doctor couldn’t pin down which tent the General was hiding in.
The more Ye Wuyou avoided the Emperor, the more panicked the doctor and Yang Shen became. They truly didn’t dare imagine how many “outrageous things” Ye Wuyou who was bold enough to kidnap the man while knowing he was the Emperor could do in a dream.
While the hunt for Ye Wuyou was in full swing in the North, Xiao Yun’an’s expression in the capital was equally grim. Physician Liu was once again kneeling.
“Zhen tried your method, Minister Liu, but for the past two nights, there have been no dreams. Not even a shadow of Ye Mian.” Xiao Yun’an leaned back lazily, supporting his chin. His tone was gentle, his words sincere.
Yet, it scared Physician Liu into a cold sweat.
“This…” Physician Liu bowed low, not daring to look up. “Perhaps the General has had urgent military matters these past two days and has slept little, missing the time with Your Majesty.”
This, this, this—if the General insists on staying awake, I can’t exactly travel thousands of miles to the North and knock him out! If I actually went there, given my small frame compared to the General’s soldiers, I’d be the one getting knocked out.
“This old servant recalls something,” Gao Su interjected, his voice high and thin. “When General Ye was still at the prince’s estate, he often inverted his schedule to avoid Your Majesty. He’d sneak into the kitchen to cause trouble at night and curl up in a woodpile during the day. Later, Your Majesty was forced to sync your schedule with his, staying up for several nights before finally catching him.”
Xiao Yun’an’s brow arched. “Minister Ye truly uses every means available.”
Xiao Yun’an straightened up and turned his gaze back to Physician Liu, smiling. “Zhen isn’t a man-eater; why are you so afraid? I will have many uses for Minister Liu in the future.”
As a show of favor, Xiao Yun’an walked over and patted Liu’s shoulder twice.
Physician Liu shook like a sieve. Finding it dull, Xiao Yun’an had Gao Su escort him out politely. When Gao Su returned, Xiao Yun’an was already setting up the “Calming Incense.”
“Bring all the unfinished memorials to the desk. Zhen won’t sleep tonight. Tomorrow, after the court session, I will try again.”
Ye Wuyou stayed in hiding for four days. On the morning of the fifth day, he went to the doctor’s tent to take his medicine.
“Doctor, I don’t think I can keep hiding like this.” Ye Wuyou gulped down the decoction, rubbing the lower abdomen that had been dullly aching due to his chaotic schedule. “I can hold out, but the imperial chef is going to go crazy first.”
The doctor took the empty bowl, his face a picture of weariness.
“General, just sleep in peace. No matter how great the Emperor’s powers are, he can’t forcibly drag you into a dream. A shared dream requires both parties to be willing.” In the stabilizing medicine Ye Wuyou just drank, the doctor had added a generous amount of sedative herbs. An Omega is naturally sleepy during pregnancy; with the added dose, Ye Wuyou was guaranteed to sleep for at least twenty hours.
“You’re right. Though the North has been quiet lately and Yang Shen has taken over the military affairs, I should think about the ‘little tag-along.'” Ye Wuyou actually wanted to stay awake longer, but when he went to the latrine last night, he had seen a few traces of blood on his underpants. It had scared him enough to rouse the doctor at dawn.
After only a few sentences, Ye Wuyou was yawning uncontrollably. He forced himself to eat a meal at the chef’s place before staggering back to the commander’s tent.
He only managed to pull off half of his outer robe before his head hit the pillow and he fell into a deep sleep.
When Xiao Yun’an broke into the dreamscape, he found Ye Wuyou excitedly playing chess with a Wolf King.
The scene was so bizarre that Xiao Yun’an froze for two seconds.
Ye Mian? Playing chess with a wolf?
Xiao Yun’an wondered if he had entered the wrong dream, or if his General had somehow “evolved” away his most prominent weakness while he wasn’t looking.
It wasn’t until that familiar Cold Plum pheromone drifted under his nose that Xiao Yun’an approached hesitantly.
“This move is no good. This General made a mistake.” “Say something human if you agree! If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as a ‘yes’!” “Hey, hey! This General is taking back the move, so what! Let go of the piece!”
The Emperor’s smile froze. Ye Mian couldn’t even beat a wolf at chess and was now shouting about retracting moves…
Could it be that Physician Liu’s method of ‘forcing’ an entry into another’s dream actually damages the mind?
Not sure. He’d observe a bit more.
Xiao Yun’an wasn’t originally part of the dream’s cast. He stood silently behind Ye Wuyou, and neither the man nor the wolf noticed his presence. “A true gentleman doesn’t speak while watching chess,” but Xiao Yun’an was an Emperor, not a gentleman. He used the fallen leaves in the dream to blatantly act as a secret advisor behind Ye Wuyou.
On the board, the white pieces held by the Wolf King suffered a rapid defeat after Xiao Yun’an joined the fray. Ye Wuyou was overjoyed, thinking he had suddenly grown a new brain.
In his excitement, a faint trace of Green Bamboo pheromones drifted under his nose. Ye Wuyou froze. When he looked up and realized what he had been playing chess with, he jumped back in fright—
And jumped right onto Xiao Yun’an. Ye Wuyou lost his balance and fell backward; Xiao Yun’an, unprepared for the force, was nearly knocked to the ground.
Xiao Yun’an held the struggling Ye Wuyou tight. Looking back at the jagged, stony path behind them, he was shocked.
A bit more, and I would have been murdered in a dream by my own General.
“Wuyou, don’t be afraid,” Xiao Yun’an said. “Zhen will take you somewhere else.”
“Your Majesty!” Ye Wuyou’s body went rigid. He let out a trembling, hopeless sound as he allowed the world to spin and shift around them.
Xiao Yun’an only held his wolf-fearing General a bit tighter.
Ye Wuyou remembered he had fallen asleep in broad daylight, so the Xiao Yun’an appearing in the dream could only be his own fantasy. Smelling the bamboo scent, he felt a surge of emotion. He had truly underestimated his obsession with the Emperor; the doctor was right even if the Emperor didn’t enter the dream, his own lust wouldn’t let Xiao Yun’an go.
But then again, that “Wuyou” sounded so good. His back and scalp tingled at the sound.
When Ye Wuyou steadied himself, he found they were in a side hall of the Imperial Study.
Ye Wuyou’s lecherous heart let out a sigh of relief. Good, good. It’s just a side hall for business, no mysterious Dragon Bed. It seems today is a rare, ‘serious’ dream.
“How could Minister Ye have the heart not to see Zhen for so many days?” Xiao Yun’an held Ye Wuyou’s waist. He had almost completely figured out Ye Wuyou’s character in the dream.
His Great General loved it when he “softened up,” and then, taking advantage of it being “just a dream,” would act recklessly with his body. If he showed a little bit of struggle… Ye Wuyou would be even more eager to throw himself at him.
My Ye Mian, when will you realize that the one ‘taking advantage’ has always been this Alpha body, not the Omega who cries and shouts that he can’t take it in my arms?
Knowing Ye Wuyou was so terrified in the dream, he’d likely just be secretly happy upon waking and then return to the dream next time to “seek Imperial grace” again.
Xiao Yun’an pressed Ye Wuyou into his embrace and smiled. He had sought Physician Liu’s “forcing” method for nothing; looking at Ye Mian like this, how was he “avoiding” him? Likely there were just unavoidable military changes lately.
Seeing Xiao Yun’an frown, Ye Wuyou’s brain filled with “trashy” thoughts exploded. He felt as though he had been tossed into water and stirred; all his worry and fear were washed away.
The Emperor in my dream truly can’t be a serious Emperor. He’s blatantly seducing me!
Ye Wuyou’s breathing grew heavy as he pressed against the Emperor’s chest. He swallowed hard.
This time, it’s definitely not the real Xiao Yun’an. The Emperor’s dignified posture wouldn’t let him whisper such mind-confusing nonsense in a subject’s ear.
His waist, which had only been better for two days, went soft against Xiao Yun’an. His string of “reason” snapped, and his lust won out.
Ye Wuyou suddenly looked up, wrapped his arms around the Emperor’s neck, and leaned in for a kiss. His long legs weren’t idle either; he jumped up and hooked them tightly around the Emperor’s narrow waist.
“This subject knows his crime… Your Majesty, please punish me lightly.” Having stolen the last bit of oxygen from Xiao Yun’an’s mouth, Ye Wuyou feigned a “charming” tone, using the Emperor like a tree trunk to climb up two more steps. He held on like a crab and whispered “weakly” into the Emperor’s ear.
Xiao Yun’an’s breathing also became erratic. Ye Wuyou, excited, gripped the Emperor even tighter.
Since we’re here! How could I resist taking a bite!
“Minister Ye…” the “captured” Xiao Yun’an said weakly. “Get down. If you squeeze any harder, Zhen will ‘ascend to heaven’ (die).”
Ye Wuyou: “…”
Recalling his own brute strength, Ye Wuyou was aghast and scrambled down. In his excitement, he had used the same force he used against enemies, leaving a bruise on Xiao Yun’an’s fair neck.
It seems today isn’t a spring dream, it’s a regicide.
Ye Wuyou knelt on the floor, his face long. But his body, stirred by Xiao Yun’an, wouldn’t fully calm down. He could only try to pull his few remaining clothes lower.
“This subject was reckless! Please punish me severely!”
“Punish you for what? Squeezing Zhen’s neck again?” Xiao Yun’an didn’t particularly want to remember the suffocation, but he liked the posture from just now. He simply tossed his robes and crown to the floor and leaned down to whisper to Ye Wuyou.
“What Minister Ye wants to do… Zhen will teach you.”
Ah… it is a spring dream!
Ye Wuyou couldn’t wait to press close again, completely forgetting the list of “tests” he had prepared for the Emperor.
Xiao Yun’an opened his arms, and Ye Wuyou climbed onto him again. But the scene was different from his imagination; his clothes were still on, which was agonizing.
“Yes, use the strength in your waist and abdomen. Relax your hands.” “Don’t tense your waist; it’s just like riding a horse. Treat Zhen as your Zhuifeng.” “Almost there. Hold on tight, Minister Ye. Zhen is letting go.”
The hands supporting his buttocks suddenly let go. Lacking security, Ye Wuyou hugged the pine-straight Xiao Yun’an even tighter.
“I can’t learn it, Your Majesty!” Ye Wuyou’s gaze drifted, guilty. “How about you lower the difficulty… at least use something to ‘prop up’ this subject…”
Xiao Yun’an narrowed his eyes knowingly.
