The Frenzied Savior - Chapter 9
Fu Qingya raised his head, lazily lifting his eyelids. His eyes were clear and cold, showing no sign of the extreme exhaustion one might expect. However, the Class 1 homeroom teacher, Old Fu, knew all too well that Fu Qingya had indeed been deprived of sleep since the start of the semester. It seemed the boy had no way to control that overwhelming drowsiness. If it hadn’t been for the fact that every medical checkup came back clear, Old Fu would have been worried sick that something was seriously wrong.
Fortunately, Fu Qingya was just sleepy; it hadn’t affected his health. For the sake of the boy’s mental state, Old Fu was willing to turn a blind eye.
Since Fu Qingya had asked a question, the teacher didn’t dawdle. He pulled out a booklet and flipped it open. “In last week’s weekly exam, you took first place in the entire grade again. But Fu Qingya, you got full marks in every other subject. Why is it that my physics class is always a failing grade?”
Old Fu, the homeroom teacher, truly couldn’t wrap his head around it. His teaching ability had been top-tier in the city for years. Many children had seen their grades skyrocket under his guidance, so why was Fu Qingya the sole exception? This kid was clearly brilliant enough to ace every other subject, yet he consistently failed physics. Where exactly was the teaching going wrong?
Looking at Fu Qingya, who perpetually hovered on the edge of failing, Old Fu was starting to have an existential crisis.
Fu Qingya, who had expected some major issue, lowered his gaze again to hide the helplessness in his eyes.
In the Star Era, although humanity had faced a cataclysm and neared extinction, it was followed by a period of rapid technological advancement. By the year Star Era 67, much of the foundational knowledge had been through countless iterations. In Fu Qingya’s mind, physics was no longer what it used to be.
Every time he saw those formulas, he couldn’t help but frown. There were theories he didn’t want to write down because they had been debunked in his time. Even for the ones that hadn’t been overturned, he was used to skipping steps or even creating entirely new methods because the knowledge had evolved so much…
Under these circumstances, how could he possibly score well?
“Failing physics doesn’t stop me from being rank one, Teacher Fu. You don’t need to worry,” Fu Qingya murmured, propping his head up, feeling himself drift off again.
Old Fu felt a lump in his throat. Was this a question of being rank one? This was a “Hell-mode” challenge to his entire professional career! It was a direct insult to his teaching level! If he was doing something wrong, the boy should just say it, and he’d change!
Fu Qingya, who lacked experience in the nuances of social graces, didn’t notice Old Fu’s internal meltdown. He simply slumped back down onto the desk, but the words he spoke just before falling asleep left the teacher stunned.
“My poor performance in physics is due to personal reasons, it has nothing to do with you, Teacher Fu. So, just let it be.”
Fu Qingya didn’t want to be dragged into daily tutoring sessions. He was busy every day and didn’t have the time or energy to catch up on “primitive” physics.
Old Fu stared as Fu Qingya curled up on the desk again. He was baffled by the mention of “personal reasons” and felt a desperate urge to grab the boy by the shoulders and demand an explanation, but seeing the back of Fu Qingya’s head, he eventually gave up with a dark expression.
Watching Old Fu’s face turn various shades of purple and black, Fu Qingya’s seatmate was filled with admiration. Fu Qingya was probably the only person capable of infuriating Old Fu to this extent while leaving him completely powerless.
It was a bit unethical, but he really wanted to laugh!
The sharp-tongued and stubborn Old Fu actually had a day like this! Truly legendary! Fu Qingya, the Great Fu! Well done!
The round-faced boy’s eyes sparkled. If Fu Qingya weren’t sleeping, he would have showered him with praise. To be fair, while Old Fu was an excellent teacher who cared about them, his tongue was often far too blunt and poisonous. It was about time someone like Fu Qingya showed him a thing or two.
The round-faced boy was busy plotting in his head.
“Shen Haohao”
Old Fu let out a low, irritated growl. The round-faced boy suddenly realized that the teacher, despite his lingering anger, had already picked up his book to start the lecture. Meanwhile, he had been dazing off and laughing right under Old Fu’s nose.
“Old Ban, let me explain”
“Stand up!”
The round-faced boy stood up with a woeful expression.
“Copy the formulas on the board a hundred times!”
“No, Old Ban—”
“One hundred and fifty!”
“Okay, fine.”
The mournful voice rang in his ear, and Fu Qingya shifted his head slightly, feeling a bit helpless. His seatmate was always so… indescribably lively.
He really didn’t understand the mindset of these children anymore.
Feeling his own mental age weighing on him, Fu Qingya sighed inwardly and continued to sink into the strange world of his “merging” process.

The next few days were quite peaceful for Fu Qingya. He received no news regarding the A48 Galaxy, nor did he encounter anyone from Country A’s official departments again.
One afternoon, Fu Qingya was about to head home after class as usual, but he was called to the office by Old Fu.
Fu Qingya stood by the desk, looking at his teacher.
Old Fu held a booklet and a few sheets of paper in one hand, while scrolling through something on his phone with the other. After a few minutes, he looked up.
“There is a week-long exchange program between our school and City Second High. The school has recommended you and a few students from other classes. Fu Qingya, I’m asking for your opinion now, do you want to go? If so, fill out this application form.”
Although he said he was “asking for an opinion,” his expression clearly showed he wanted Fu Qingya to go. After all, if the boy changed environments and studied under a different teacher for a week, maybe his physics grades would finally improve?
Having essentially given up on teaching Fu Qingya himself, Teacher Fu’s eyes were full of anticipation. That eager look reminded Fu Qingya of the old professors from the Star Era who used to look at him with the same earnest hope.
Fu Qingya remained silent for a moment. Faced with such sincere concern and expectation, he didn’t know how to refuse. Having never experienced the doting care of parents, Fu Qingya had no defense against this kind of genuine emotion.
It was just changing the location of his naps anyway, agreeing wouldn’t hurt.
Fu Qingya took the form from Old Fu’s hand. “I’ll follow the arrangement.”
Old Fu smiled with satisfaction. He refused to believe that after a week in the class of Second High’s famous physics teacher, Teacher Qin, Fu Qingya wouldn’t show at least a little progress!
He was looking forward to Fu Qingya finally getting a passing grade next time!
The exchange procedures were handled quickly. In less than two days, Fu Qingya and five or six other students from the same grade followed the leading teacher to City Second High. Naturally, students from the other school had headed to First High in their place.
The student swapping with Fu Qingya was the top student of City Second High’s Class 1, who was also the top of their grade.
The students of Second High’s Class 1 had also looked into Fu Qingya’s reputation. Hearing that he was even more formidable than their own top student, they couldn’t help but be curious.
However, as soon as Fu Qingya dropped off his things, he was whisked away by the school staff to attend the welcome ceremony. The students of Class 1 only caught a glimpse of his handsome face, noting that he was a very cool and striking boy, but they knew nothing else.
Driven by curiosity, they kept glancing toward the door, wondering when he would return. Yet, after waiting for a long time without seeing him, they began to murmur among themselves.
Meanwhile, the person they were whispering about had walked into a predicament.
The story goes back to when the Student Union invited Fu Qingya to participate in the welcome ceremony hosted by the school and organized by the Student Union.
The ceremony was held in City Second High’s Science and Technology Building. The building had seven floors in total, and the first floor was a large hall capable of accommodating many people and equipment.
The welcome ceremony was only attended by the principal, some officials in charge of the exchange program, and members of the Student Union. Including Fu Qingya and the others, there were about a hundred people. Although the crowd wasn’t massive, the atmosphere was very lively. By the time Fu Qingya arrived, the other exchange students were already sitting and chatting with the students from Second High.
Fu Qingya had intended to find a random spot to sit, but a strange, black pillar suddenly caused his expression to turn icy cold.
