The Frenzied Savior - Chapter 31
“Foreign blood detected,”
“Data analysis system initiated,”
A strange mechanical voice suddenly rang out in the ears of the elderly doctor and Luo Mingyuan. The source of the sound was undoubtedly Fu Qingya’s finger, specifically the area where that peculiar object had emerged.
What on earth was that thing?
Both men stared with wide, bulging eyes.
“The liquid is confirmed as blood from a carbon-based organism. Female, Type O.”
“Special series virus from Galaxy A48 detected. Increasing analysis depth,”
“Hello, Host.”
“Analysis complete. The carbon-based organism is in a state of poisoning and epidermal layer damage. Currently suffering from multiple concurrent conditions including mild poisoning, excessive blood loss, extreme terror, and post-traumatic stress. Host, please take note,”
“This carbon-based organism is classified as high-risk. Strict monitoring is recommended to prevent a self-destructive cycle triggered by the toxin, which may lead to self-harm or similar phenomena.”
The mechanical voice actually let out a very human-like sigh at this point before falling silent.
“I’ll keep that in mind. Give me the analysis report.” Fu Qingya tapped the specialized mechanical needle on his pale fingertip with his other hand.
“Instructions received. Compiling analysis report,”
With two crisp clicks, a long, thin strip of paper with a unique texture flew out from Fu Qingya’s fingertip. He caught it quickly between his fingers.
Luo Mingyuan and the old doctor looked at Fu Qingya with expressions that were complicated and strange.
What exactly was this thing on Fu Qingya’s body?
How could it hide so seamlessly, operate on its own without Fu Qingya making a sound, and even detect blood with such ease? Most importantly, it had accurately diagnosed the victim’s physical condition and even identified that Li Xiaowen had been poisoned by a specific toxin from “Galaxy A48.”
Were Li Xiaowen and those other children truly murdered by someone else? And by someone from Galaxy A48?
Wait, what was Galaxy A48? And what was this “special toxin”?
After their initial realization, several questions crashed into their minds, especially for Luo Mingyuan. He quickly suppressed his curiosity, his eyes downcast and filled with deep thought.
Galaxy A48? Was that a code name for a specific, high-tech organization that developed technological products for profit? A special toxin? Did that organization have people who knew how to manufacture drugs? And this drug could actually manipulate people into depression and suicide? What kind of poison could be so sinister?
According to the records of the forensic experts and doctors, this toxin could hide itself perfectly, bypassing all searches and inquiries. That was why everything had appeared normal these past few days, no matter how they investigated.
This kind of poison was far too dangerous. If the person behind this were to release it on a large scale, and they couldn’t even detect it, they would have no way to save anyone. They would be forced to watch helplessly as humans committed suicide in an uncontrollable wave of death.
The more Luo Mingyuan thought about it, the more solemn his expression became. He looked at Fu Qingya, who was currently flipping through the analysis report. “Is this toxin rare? Can it be spread on a large scale?”
Fu Qingya’s hand paused slightly as he read. He was surprised that Luo Mingyuan had pinpointed the key issue so quickly. However, Fu Qingya’s expression remained relatively calm.
“This is a psychiatric toxin. Those people didn’t originally possess this kind of thing, so their research on it isn’t very thorough. It takes them a long time to develop even a small dose like this. Therefore, it is extremely precious.”
Luo Mingyuan instantly understood. It couldn’t be deployed on a massive scale. The nightmare he feared, a large-scale poisoning causing mass suicides, was highly unlikely.
Luo Mingyuan breathed a sigh of relief, but he also noticed the tone Fu Qingya used when mentioning the mastermind, it was laced with disgust and an indescribable sense of weariness.
This was yet another contradiction that made Fu Qingya such a mystery. Considering Fu Qingya’s life history, Luo Mingyuan had hypothesized several possibilities, but none could explain how he possessed such prominent, almost demonic scientific talent, nor why he seemed like a fresh-faced youth one moment and a weathered, old soul the next.
Luo Mingyuan was consumed by an infinite curiosity. A powerful desire to investigate forced his gaze to settle on Fu Qingya. He was doing things he hadn’t even realized were out of character, like dropping everything to rush over the moment he heard news about the young man.
“Mr. Fu, how much do you know about this toxin?”
Trusting the person you use is key. Luo Mingyuan didn’t ask why Fu Qingya had data on a poison that even national special departments had never heard of, instead, he humbly asked for information regarding the substance itself.
Fu Qingya paused for several seconds. Then, keeping his head down, he continued to scan the data in his hand. “I am utterly ignorant of it.”
It was precisely because he didn’t know that he hadn’t reacted at all in the beginning, even though he knew from that strange aura that this was the work of that ruthless vanguard.
As for the thing controlling those students to commit suicide, the toxin in his hand, Fu Qingya had spent quite a bit of time and effort just to find a trace of it. If it had been a toxin he was familiar with, he would have provided a solution the moment he discovered it. Unfortunately, he knew nothing about this one. At most, he had only heard the name mentioned by others.
Luo Mingyuan was astonished. This was the first time Fu Qingya had given him a negative answer, making him realize that Fu Qingya wasn’t omniscient, he had gaps in his knowledge too.
However, Luo Mingyuan’s eyes fell on the analysis report. If he knew nothing about the toxin, then how did that device, which looked like it was made from spare parts and was clearly handmade by Fu Qingya, possess the data and information on it?
Luo Mingyuan was completely baffled. Ever since he met Fu Qingya, his brilliant mind felt like it had rusted over. He was usually incredibly efficient at solving cases or performing autopsies, but whenever he tried to apply logic to Fu Qingya, his thoughts hit a dead end.
Luo Mingyuan finally realized that Fu Qingya wasn’t someone he could understand using his existing knowledge. The boy was like a riddle, wrapped in layers of mystery, refusing to let anyone outside catch a glimpse, let alone see through him.
“This data is the research result of others,” Fu Qingya explained without looking up, seemingly sensing Luo Mingyuan’s confusion. After a moment of hesitation, he added, “I may have been ignorant before, but I can begin to understand and study it now.”
“As long as I put some effort into it, an antidote can be developed very quickly.”
Developing something entirely new? An antidote for a poison that had never even been heard of? And doing it “very quickly”?
The old doctor, who had spent decades in the medical field, couldn’t help but scoff in his heart. How could that possibly be true?
