The Five Heartless Scumbag Alphas Turned Against Each Other Because Of Me - Chapter 105
“Huh?”
Tan Hua was a little dazed. What was she talking about?
Moments later, as Lu Huaixu narrowed her deep, dark eyes that now carried a dangerous glint, a sudden realization struck Tan Hua. She finally remembered what Lu Huaixu was referring to—a hundred million, and the task of making her fall in love with her.
It had been an incredibly difficult challenge. And soon after, Tan Hua had been diagnosed with pregnancy. Then, the female lead suddenly returned to the country, and Tan Hua began working overtime like crazy, barely having time to catch her breath. Gradually, the whole thing slipped from her mind entirely.
It wasn’t until Lu Huaixu brought it up again now that Tan Hua could even believe it had happened.
Was there really someone so absurdly rich and foolish as to throw away a fortune just to play such a pointless game? No—knowing Lu Huaixu’s mindset and calculations, she would never do anything without purpose.
Tan Hua couldn’t help but glance at Lu Huaixu several times, curious. So what was her real intention? What exactly was she trying to test? What kind of answer did she want?
Tan Hua didn’t know yet, but for now, keeping Lu Huaixu calm was clearly the more important task.
“I didn’t forget,” she said softly.
At once, she put on an innocent, slightly wronged expression and proactively wrapped her arms around Lu Huaixu’s waist. Resting her cheek gently against the woman’s chest, she said, “I’m just following my plan, aren’t I? And see, it’s working pretty well, isn’t it?”
Lu Huaixu lowered her gaze, silently watching her. “What plan and what results are you talking about?”
“To get close to other women and make you jealous,” Tan Hua said smoothly, leaning more of her weight into Lu Huaixu and using her as support. Then she began spinning her story: “I carefully selected people, hoping that by getting too close to Sheng Yiheng or Zheng Jinyu, I could make you angry. But all this time, you never reacted at all.”
“So I had to change tactics. I thought, maybe you’d only be moved if I got close—intimate even—with someone you once cared deeply about.”
Tan Hua lifted a finger and slowly drew circles on Lu Huaixu’s chest. “And from the looks of it now, I wasn’t wrong, was I?”
“Ever since I started interacting more with Cheng Yuan, you’ve been impatient, unstable, even irrational. That’s not like you.” Tan Hua smiled mischievously, a sly sparkle in her eyes. “You’re panicking, President Lu.”
“You’ve lost your composure. You even came to confront me about whether I’d forgotten your little commission—didn’t you?”
It sounded logical enough, but Lu Huaixu asked coldly, “And how can you be sure I’m jealous because of you, and not because of Cheng Yuan?”
Tan Hua smirked, entirely unconcerned. “Doesn’t matter.”
“If you still care about Cheng Yuan, that’s fine too. I’ll just revise the plan so we can follow a classic, tragic love arc.”
“At that point, I’ll be a mother, a wife, married and bound to someone else. And you—whether it’s with Cheng Yuan or some other Omega—you’ll live happily ever after. We’ll both become the one person the other can never have. Isn’t that even more exciting?”
Her eyes sparkled at the thought, clearly thrilled by such a dramatic plot. “If, by then, you can still remain utterly indifferent and go on to marry someone else, then I’ll consider it a good deed on my part—helping you recognize your true feelings and guiding you to your real love.”
“And if, by that point, your heart is stirred—if you start to feel regret or resist the idea of marrying someone else—wouldn’t that just prove that my plan was a success?”
The Omega spoke with such conviction that Lu Huaixu, while somewhat persuaded, also felt the absurdity and irrationality of it all.
She couldn’t quite understand how Tan Hua’s mind worked so quickly and chaotically, but one thing she was absolutely sure of: Tan Hua’s apparent concern for Cheng Yuan wasn’t just for the high-minded reasons she had just listed.
So Lu Huaixu said directly, “My feelings for Cheng Yuan are purely sisterly. After thinking things through for over a month, I’m even more certain now that I only see her as a younger sister.”
“I don’t love her, and I’m not jealous of you being close to her,” Lu Huaixu added, her gaze tightening like a coiled serpent around Tan Hua. Then she demanded, rather unreasonably, “So pick someone else.”
“Find someone who can actually make me feel threatened—someone who’s my equal. An Alpha.”
Lu Huaixu deliberately emphasized the word Alpha. She didn’t want an Omega or a Beta as a supposed ‘rival in love’. She wanted someone who would keep her on edge every second of the day—ideally someone who could stress her out so much she’d lose sleep.
Tan Hua blinked. “…Huh?”
Was this woman making a wish now? Where was she supposed to find an Alpha powerful enough to match Lu Huaixu?
In Tan Hua’s current social circle, there were only a few halfway decent candidates she was even remotely close with. Sheng Yiheng was too sweet and naive—definitely not the type who could play this kind of psychological chess with Lu Huaixu. Zheng Jinyu was too gentle and, more importantly, had been friends with Lu Huaixu for years, making any chance of turning them into bitter rivals practically nonexistent.
Tang Yanrou had a great personality, solid character, and real ambition, but she wasn’t the type to engage in such childish and petty squabbles over love interests, especially not with another Alpha.
Guo Lanyi… well, she might actually meet Lu Huaixu’s criteria. But Tan Hua didn’t even know her that well.
So what—was she supposed to sacrifice herself and seduce Guo Lanyi just to help Lu Huaixu experience some jealousy? She was a person, not some wish-granting turtle in a pond.
Tan Hua looked up at Lu Huaixu with a complicated expression. In the end, she couldn’t help but say, “Honestly, Guo Lanyi fits your standards pretty well. But I’m not close to her, so… could you be the one to provoke her instead? Just piss her off, and maybe the two of you can go at it—full-on three-hundred-round grudge match or something.”
Lu Huaixu: “…”
She was so exasperated, she almost laughed. “You want me to provoke her? On what grounds, exactly?”
“You don’t need a reason,” Tan Hua replied, puffing herself up with misplaced confidence. “Do you really think impulsive madness waits for the right day? Just go and do it! Make a scene…”
Before she could even finish her sentence, Lu Huaixu suddenly leaned in, her expression dangerously close.
“Are you playing with me?”
Would I even dare? Tan Hua cursed silently, but on the surface, she shook her head with lightning speed.
“Of course not! Why would you think that?” Her eyes widened in innocent surprise. “I’m seriously, sincerely helping you make this plan work!”
As soon as she finished speaking, Tan Hua instantly put on a look of grievance and disappointment.
“I really didn’t expect this,” she said sorrowfully. “Here I am, thinking so considerately on your behalf—and yet this is what you think of me.”
“Lu Huaixu, you’re selfish and cold. You completely lack empathy. You could never love any Omega in this world.” Tan Hua’s voice grew impassioned. She suddenly pushed herself out of Lu Huaixu’s embrace with force. “Even if, by some miracle, there were an Omega capable of moving you, you still wouldn’t be able to love them.”
“All you’d do is hurt them—push them to despair until they gave up on you completely. That’s how it would end.” She took a step back with every word, as if afraid Lu Huaixu might try to catch her again. “You’re better off staying alone, quietly and peacefully.”
“Remaining single, and sparing other Omegas from your emotional damage, would be the greatest act of kindness you could possibly offer the world.”
Why was she even trying to be in love? What kind of self-destructive impulse made someone voluntarily leap into the quicksand of romance? Tan Hua honestly couldn’t understand it—at all.
Even as she ran, she was internally fuming. Despite her injured knee—and the fact that she was literally carrying a child inside her—none of that seemed to slow her down. She sprinted like a hare, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
Lu Huaixu had been struck speechless by Tan Hua’s barrage of sharp, stinging words. But the moment she saw Tan Hua turn and bolt, she snapped out of her daze. Lifting her foot, she gave immediate chase, stopping at the doorway to call out:
“You’re not going to apply medicine to your leg?”
“No need!” Tan Hua shot back without a second thought. “My knee’s perfectly fine now!”
“What about the rest of you?”
The rest? Tan Hua instinctively paused. She turned around to look at Lu Huaixu, still standing some distance away, and hesitantly asked the system, “Should I put something on… my neck and those spots?”
But before the system could answer, Tan Hua shook her head firmly, replying to herself with finality: “No. Who knows what weird ingredients are in those ointments? What if it’s bad for the baby?”
Even though Xu Fengqi seemed to have some sort of connection to Lu Huaixu, Tan Hua didn’t trust him—she didn’t even fully trust Lu Huaixu, so how could she believe in someone she’d only met a few times?
Who knew—he might be one of those malicious supporting characters.
The system could only sigh inwardly at Tan Hua’s constant back-and-forth logic, but it had long since gotten used to her ways.
“Then we’ll just let the wounds heal naturally,” it said. “It’s the safest option.”
As Tan Hua nodded in agreement with the system, Lu Huaixu was already striding toward her.
When Tan Hua looked up and saw the tall figure approaching so suddenly, she was startled. She immediately turned to run again, but Lu Huaixu stopped her.
“This ointment isn’t harmful,” she said.
Pulling a small tube from her clothes, Lu Huaixu explained, “It’s made with all-natural ingredients and has almost no side effects.”
Tan Hua’s eyes followed the ointment but eventually paused on Lu Huaixu’s hands. Her fingers were long, fair, and graceful—clearly well cared for, elegant, and in line with the image Tan Hua had of her.
She hesitated, then tried to politely decline. “Really, I don’t need it. I feel fine…”
But Lu Huaixu didn’t give her the chance to finish. She took Tan Hua’s wrist, raised her hand, and firmly placed the ointment into her palm.
“Just keep it. Who knows—you might need it for something else later.”
Tan Hua blinked. Wait, why does that sound kind of ominous?
She was about to argue when Lu Huaixu suddenly placed her warm hand on the back of her head. With a gentle but firm pull, she drew Tan Hua in again, resting her face against her chest.
Tan Hua could hear her strong, steady heartbeat. Being this close, the air between them seemed to grow heavier, filled with a subtle but undeniable tension.
She looked up at Lu Huaixu, unsure of what she was planning now.
But Lu Huaixu didn’t do anything more. She simply spoke in a quiet, sincere voice.
“I forgot to say this earlier,” she said.
“You will always come first. You matter more than anyone else.”
“I never believed that just because you’re going to have a child, you should be expected to sacrifice yourself for it.” Her voice was soft, but steady. “I don’t think you should have to suffer or give up who you are for the sake of the baby.”
“This world had you first. Only afterward did the child come. So before anything else—you are yourself, not just a mother.”
She stood close, her presence gently pressing in—but to Tan Hua, it didn’t feel overbearing. Instead, she felt safe. Warm. Like Lu Huaixu’s calm strength was quietly wrapping around her.
Lu Huaixu always had a way of seeing straight into someone’s heart. With just a few words, she had touched on the hidden, quiet worries that Tan Hua hadn’t even fully acknowledged herself—and somehow, she had eased them without force.
Tan Hua stood there, stunned for a moment. Then she smiled, her eyes soft and slightly amused.
“So tell me,” she asked teasingly, trying to lighten the mood, “are you trying to make me fall in love with you? Or are you the one falling for me?”
Then she added, in mock outrage, “You know, making a pregnant woman feel all emotional like this is cruel and completely heartless. You should be ashamed.”
Lu Huaixu laughed quietly at her words. She leaned down slightly, her lips stopping just short of Tan Hua’s cheek.
“So what?” she murmured. “Are you planning to get back at me now?”
Tan Hua (mentally): Isn’t this supposed to be my mission? Why do I feel like I’m the one being seduced?
President Lu: One step closer to the truth today.
