The Film Queen Is Cold and Ruthless, Only Sends Money - Chapter 53
When Jiang Zhi regained consciousness, she heard Su Yun’s drowsy voice murmuring sleepily, “What’s wrong?”
The night was deep, and they were nestled close together, their hair intertwined, their bodies nearly touching.
Su Yun wasn’t fully awake yet, only reacting instinctively to Jiang Zhi’s movements.
Jiang Zhi gently kissed Su Yun’s hair and whispered, “It’s nothing. Go back to sleep.”
Su Yun hummed vaguely in response, nuzzling closer to Jiang Zhi before drifting off again. In her dream, she seemed to return to the rented apartment they once shared.
Listening to the steady rhythm of Su Yun’s breathing, Jiang Zhi’s eyes flickered slightly. She really was back.
The experiences of the day might have been a dream, or perhaps just her imagination.
But whether it was a dream or an illusion, as she looked at Su Yun beside her now, she felt nothing but overwhelming luck.
“Falling for you feels more like an inevitability.”
Those words still lingered in her ears like an echo.
Jiang Zhi thought the same.
No matter where they were, every word from Su Yun could make her heart skip a beat.
When it was finally time to sleep, Jiang Zhi realized she was still holding something in her palm, a piece of candy.
It was the wedding candy she had received earlier. Su Yun had joked about her bringing it back, but she hadn’t expected it to actually happen.
Pinching the edges of the candy wrapper, Jiang Zhi placed it by the bedside.
She had a feeling tonight would bring sweet dreams.
When Su Yun woke again, she saw Jiang Zhi sitting beside her, scrolling through her phone.
She leaned over without bothering to look at the screen and asked, “What are you looking at?”
“Want some candy?” Jiang Zhi first handed her the candy she had brought back.
Then she answered, “I’m looking up how to plan a wedding.”
Before Su Yun could ask where the candy had come from, her attention was completely captured by Jiang Zhi’s last sentence. “A wedding?”
“Yeah, it seems we’re missing one,” Jiang Zhi set her phone aside and smiled at Su Yun. “So I want to make up for it.”
Jiang Zhi’s words reminded Su Yun. “We really haven’t had one, have we? What made you think of it this morning?”
“I had a dream where you really loved weddings,” Jiang Zhi said.
Hearing this, Su Yun narrowed her eyes, climbed onto Jiang Zhi’s lap, and pressed close to her. With a playful huff, she said, “So if you hadn’t had this dream, you wouldn’t have wanted to marry me?”
Jiang Zhi chuckled, first kissing Su Yun’s lips before coaxing her, “I’d want to marry you even without the dream.”
Not to be outdone, Su Yun kissed her back. “Good.”
“Any preferences for venues or designs? We can start looking now.” Having successfully soothed her, Jiang Zhi handed the phone to Su Yun.
She had already contacted a wedding planner that morning, who had sent over several proposals. But the specifics would naturally need to be decided together.
Su Yun was surprised by how quickly Jiang Zhi had acted. Glancing down at the screen, she murmured, “They all look so beautiful.”
Her fingers swiped across the images as she mused whimsically, “If I like them all, could we have a dozen weddings?”
Jiang Zhi: “…”
“If you really want to, it’s not impossible.”
Su Yun looked up in surprise. “You’d actually agree?”
Jiang Zhi met her gaze. “As long as the bride at all those weddings doesn’t change.”
Su Yun: “…”
Even she wasn’t that ambitious.
In the end, Su Yun still dismissed the idea. Having over a dozen weddings she felt she might just collapse from exhaustion during one of them.
Just one was already tiring enough!
Fortunately, when they voiced this thought, Lin Yan and the director came to help, and even Jiang Xia emerged from the sanatorium, insisting on overseeing everything for them.
As a result, whether it was decorating the venue or arranging the various procedures, there were plenty of people assisting. Su Yun and Jiang Zhi, on the other hand, found themselves with little to do.
Sitting to the side and eating fruit, Su Yun asked Jiang Zhi, “Do they really not need our help?”
She had just heard Lin Yan mention that the wedding favors were ready and needed someone to help with packaging.
Su Yun had walked over, only to be shooed back with the reasoning, “The bride should rest properly, don’t come and make a mess.”
Jiang Zhi replied, “Probably not.”
She hadn’t expected them to be so enthusiastic. It was the complete opposite of their usual behavior on the show, where they’d flee at the mention of tasks.
Su Yun pointed toward the director’s location. “You don’t think she’s designing some devious game, do you?”
If they really brought the show’s antics into this, Su Yun would absolutely acquire the production team after the wedding!
Hearing this, Jiang Zhi chuckled. “Not like that would stump you.”
“Of course not!” Su Yun readily accepted Jiang Zhi’s remark. “Looks like all we can do is write the invitations.”
That was something no one else could help with.
Naturally, news of their wedding couldn’t be kept from the fans.
[I’ve always wondered they’ve been married for so long, how come there hasn’t been a wedding? Well, here it is!]
[Ahhh! It’s New Year’s for shippers! I’ve seen your wedding a million times in fanfics, but this time it’s real!]
[I think I’ll love you two for the rest of my life! Happy wedding, may you stay together for a hundred years!]
On the day of the wedding, Su Yun sat in front of the vanity, looking at her reflection, and for once, she felt something different from usual.
To preserve some sense of mystery, she and Jiang Zhi were in separate rooms at the moment. Su Xue, Jing Zhaozhao, and Liu Yangran were with her, while the other three were with Jiang Zhi.
Su Xue smiled and asked, “Nervous?”
Liu Yangran, standing to the side, chimed in, “Who wouldn’t be nervous at their own wedding?”
She wasn’t the one getting married, but just being by Su Yun’s side and listening to the music outside made her feel jittery!
“Not really. It just feels a little different from usual,” Su Yun said, glancing at the wedding dress she had picked out with Jiang Zhi.
Jing Zhaozhao straightened the train behind her and asked, “What’s different?”
Su Yun stood up and said matter-of-factly, “It finally feels real like I’m actually the one getting married.”
The others: “…”
“Just kidding,” Su Yun laughed. She just wanted to lighten the mood since they seemed more nervous than she was.
“But if I had to say what’s different from usual,” Su Yun mused, “it’s that I really want to see Jiang Zhi right now.”
It wasn’t like they’d never been apart before.
But at this moment, the urge to see her was especially strong.
The others nearby had only one thought: We’re being fed dog food again!
But since it was their wedding day, they were more than happy to indulge in it.
–
Su Yun didn’t have to wait long before she saw the person she’d been missing.
Her figure was as flawless as jade, standing opposite her. The jet-black hair cascading down her back accentuated Jiang Zhi’s porcelain complexion, making the crimson hue at her collarbone stand out like the most vivid stroke of color on a piece of cold jade.
Jiang Zhi’s lips were tinted a deeper shade than usual, adorned with a color she wouldn’t normally wear.
The white wedding dress seemed to weave a dreamlike space, but the smile at the corners of her lips served as a reminder everything was real.
The cheers of the crowd and the officiant’s voice gradually faded, until they disappeared entirely from Su Yun’s ears. Her eyes were fixed solely on the woman before her.
She took the offered hand, feeling the warmth in Jiang Zhi’s palm.
Turning her head slightly, she met Jiang Zhi’s gaze. “Don’t be nervous,” Jiang Zhi whispered.
Su Yun’s heart suddenly settled, and she walked forward slowly with her.
The officiant asked the familiar question as always: “For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, will you remain faithful and devoted until the end of your days?”
Su Yun replied, “I do.”
As she spoke, her eyes never left Jiang Zhi.
And she received Jiang Zhi’s answer in return: “I do.”
Applause erupted from the audience. Su Yun could clearly hear their teasing shouts: “Kiss! Kiss!”
Su Yun couldn’t help but smile.
The officiant waved her hand, signaling for the crowd to quiet down. She asked Jiang Zhi, “Is there anything you’d like to say to each other at this moment?”
The audience hushed, giving the two of them their moment.
Jiang Zhi spoke deliberately, word by word: “I hope you will always be healthy, free, and happy.”
She wanted to remember Su Yun like this joyful in this moment and it was her most sincere wish.
Su Yun’s heart trembled slightly.
The officiant then turned to Su Yun with a smile. “Would you like to respond?”
Su Yun nodded. “Yes.”
Before the officiant could hand her the microphone, Su Yun took a step forward.
And kissed Jiang Zhi.
She wished for Jiang Zhi to be healthy, free, and happy.
And for the two of them,
To always cherish sincere love.
