The Female CEO Becomes Pregnant with a Poor Alpha's Child - Chapter 3
Xia Tingwang had always known there was a piano in the private room. It was hidden behind a folding screen, so she had never paid much attention to it.
Because of her unique hearing, she was destined to be disconnected from anything related to music in this life.
Li Shaoyong felt extremely awkward, fearing that Xia Tingwang would be unhappy about these events. He patted her hand and whispered, “Ignorance is not a sin. Do not take it to heart.”
He then turned his head to look at Ouyang Yi. “Xiao Yi, feel free to play something. We do not really understand these things.”
Xia Tingwang rested her chin in her hand and looked out the window. They were on the third floor, providing a clear view of the stadium below. The open field kept its lush green grass even in the winter.
Amidst the annoying sounds of the piano, Xia Tingwang let her thoughts drift. She could not hear the beautiful sounds of this world; music was an unreachable void to her, something so abstract that she could not even imagine how wonderful it might be.
She remembered that husky voice and could not help but laugh.
“Do you think Xiao Yi is pretty good?” Li Shaoyong suddenly leaned in front of her.
Xia Tingwang stifled her smile and rolled her eyes at her uncle.
After the meal, Li Shaoyong wanted her to continue her date with Ouyang Yi for the afternoon. Xia Tingwang had endured the entire morning; having lunch with them was already giving Li Shaoyong face. She grabbed Li Shaoyong just as he was about to get into the car and said, “Do not introduce any more male Alphas to me. I do not like them.”
Li Shaoyong was stunned. “Xiao Yi is a truly decent person. Try to get to know him. If it really does not work out, that is fine. Your uncle will not force you, but you should at least give him a chance.”
“I. Do. Not. Like. Men.” Xia Tingwang enunciated each word clearly. “Even if they are Alphas, I only want women.”
After saying this, she no longer gave her uncle any face. She turned and ducked into her own car, instructing the driver to leave immediately. Her tablet was right beside her, and when she picked it up, she saw it was fully charged.
She continued to watch the live-stream replay and put on her headphones.
The husky female voice reached her ears, and Xia Tingwang felt relieved. The frustration she had felt all morning gradually dissipated while listening to the little streamer’s voice.
She glanced at her wristwatch; it was only two o’clock in the afternoon.
Sang Ying turned on the camera and revealed a standard smile showing eight teeth. “Good evening, everyone.”
The top left corner of the live-stream showed three viewers. She looked at Ding Han, and Ding Han was also shocked. According to their past experiences, no one would be there when they started the broadcast, and they would only be able to generate traffic themselves. Today, someone was waiting as soon as they logged on.
Sang Ying’s smile grew wider, and she suddenly felt motivated. “Alright, let us begin today’s explanation. First, let us talk about our ‘Qingdeng’ star product, the hydrating mask. It is made from pure plant extracts for deep hydration, suitable for dry skin and extremely dry skin. One box of five sheets is 70 yuan. There is a ‘buy one, get one free’ promotion in the live-stream, so do not miss out.”
From 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM is the peak time for the live-stream, with the number of viewers maintaining between fifteen and twenty.
The two-plus hours of explanation were somewhat dull, and Sang Ying looked at the sparse barrage of comments, hoping for some interaction.
【Ai Shenshen: The streamer is so beautiful. Are you an Alpha?】
【Xingyun Liushui ya Liushui: The streamer’s voice is very husky; you should drink more water.】
【Yichuan Xia Hulu: Streamer, do not just introduce products. Chat with us more.】
【Yuyu Xia baby: Your face is wasted in this live-stream. Look at that internet celebrity Xiaoya next door; she is not as pretty as you, but she is more popular.】
There were only a dozen people watching in total, and the people posting comments were the same four or five individuals. Sang Ying ignored these irrelevant questions and placed the samples in front of the camera one by one. “Masks, toner, emulsion, face cream, eye cream, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner—there are fourteen products in total. Is there any particular one you would like to know more about?”
【Yichuan Xia Hulu: Sing a song, and I will buy something.】
【Ai Shenshen: Seconded.】
【Xinyang: Seconded plus two.】
Sang Ying’s smile stiffened. Ding Han sat on the side, bumping her knee against Sang Ying’s, signaling her to sing quickly. Sang Ying ignored her and picked up the face cream to begin her explanation.
【Yinyin 77: Can you open the mask so I can see it?】
Their live-stream was very small, and their product inventory was limited. During live-streams, Sang Ying only took full bottles of toner, emulsion, and cream as samples, opening them for everyone to see the texture. The masks, however, had never been opened.
She believed that opening a mask every time she explained it would be too wasteful and not something their small product line could afford.
However, this comment seemed to be a lifeline for Sang Ying. She quickly took a mask and opened it. “No problem. Let me show you its texture.”
Sang Ying unfolded the mask sheet. “This mask contains hyaluronic acid, also commonly known as ‘bo-nia-suan.’ It is a glycosaminoglycan composed of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine units. It is very hydrating and absorbs well. Look at this fluidity.”
Her slender fingers were covered in the mask’s serum, which was evocative, and the barrage of comments went wild.
【Xinyang: The streamer’s hands have satisfied all my fantasies.】
【Ai Shenshen: Licks hands.】
【Yichuan Xia Hulu: Are you an Alpha? If you are an Alpha, I am willing to marry you.】
The number of people in the live-stream soared to over thirty. Sang Ying glanced at the comments, put the mask into the bag, and wiped her hands clean. “Everyone, do not miss out on this mask; it is hydrating and a great value.”
This effort was not in vain; the orders for the masks began to rise.
It was midnight before they finished the stream. After turning it off, Sang Ying sat blankly in front of the camera; talking too much made her tired. Ding Han did not know where she had gone. Sang Ying packed up the opened mask; it was still usable, so she had to use it that night to avoid wasting it.
She took out her phone. Today’s revenue was slightly better than yesterday, with a turnover of three hundred and sixty yuan. At least there was progress.
Sang Ying did not ask for much; she only hoped that every day would be a little better than the day before.
Ding-dong. Her phone chimed. Sang Ying opened it and saw someone had ordered the masks. She was very familiar with this nickname: Yinyin 77.
She was very grateful to this user, not only because this nickname had helped her out during the live-stream and led to more mask sales after she opened one, but also because this nickname was also “Yinyin.”
Ding-dong. The phone chimed again; Yinyin 77 had ordered the moisturizing toner.
Following that, the phone chimed every two or three minutes. Yinyin 77 ordered all fourteen products in the store one by one.
Before Sang Ying could recover from the shock, Ding Han pushed open the small door of the rented apartment, shaking her phone. “Sang Ying! Did you see it?”
Ding Han rushed over. “This customer bought all our products!! Everything!!”
Their products were cheap, and the total for all fourteen items was over sixteen hundred yuan. Ding Han repeatedly confirmed the orders, and then noticed something else. She shook Sang Ying. “Look, look! The shipping address is in the villa district!”
Sang Ying looked over, and it really was the villa district.
“It is a rich person. Even rich people buy our products…” Ding Han had completely lost the decadence she felt after the broadcast last night. “Sang Ying, do you think this means our products are going to take off?”
Sang Ying swallowed. This large order left her unable to react for a long time. Because of this order, all the fatigue of the night faded away. She could not help but hug Ding Han. “Ding’er, we will definitely succeed in the future!”
“Yes!” Ding Han laughed. “Our ‘A Light Illuminating the Cold Shadow’ team will definitely succeed!”
The two of them walked toward the school filled with joy. Ding Han kept holding her phone, looking at the order and studying their first big client. “Do rich people not know how to buy things online? She bought fourteen items in fourteen separate transactions, and she did not buy them through the live-stream, so she did not get the live-stream discount? But then again, rich people probably do not care about these things.”
Sang Ying, filled with excitement, glanced at the screen and said, “We will give her the live-stream discounts anyway.”
“Hmm?” Ding Han was slightly unhappy. “Let us not, right? She did not buy it from the live-stream. We should save money wherever we can with our products.”
Sang Ying shook her head. “She is currently the first customer to support us so much; we cannot be stingy about these things. Furthermore, I am very confident that our products do not lose to some big brands.”
All their products were handcrafted by Sang Ying and Ding Han themselves.
The next morning, Sang Ying got up early to arrange the shipment. Including the freebies, the shipment to the villa district was a large box. She carefully verified the address, recipient, and phone number.
Recipient: Steward Xu. Phone: 133xxxxxxxx.
When the courier took the goods, a sudden flash of inspiration struck Sang Ying.
In the evening, Sang Ying and Ding Han appeared near the villa district. Both were wearing baseball caps. Ding Han lacked confidence. “Is this really going to work?”
“How will we know if we do not try…” Sang Ying took out a stack of flyers she had printed today from her bag and gave half to her. “A rich person like Yinyin 77 bought our products; maybe others here have a sharp eye for quality too.”
Ding Han clutched the flyers. In the distance, the entrance to the villa district looked magnificent and dignified, making people yearn for it. She walked two steps forward behind Sang Ying, then pulled her back with a guilty conscience. “That Yinyin 77’s recipient name is Steward Xu. Maybe she is just a worker in a rich family. We cannot come here to advertise our products just because she bought them.”
“Even if she is just a worker, it does not affect this trip…” Sang Ying said. “If there is a Steward Xu like Yinyin 77, there will be other stewards. We do not necessarily need the appreciation of the wealthy; having these workers is enough. Let us go; it will be dark soon.”
Ding Han was persuaded. They were in the early stages of a startup; being timid would prevent them from achieving anything.
However, unexpectedly, the two of them could not even get through the door.
Management at the villa district was relatively strict. Access required electronic facial recognition, and strangers had to have the owner’s consent to enter. Sang Ying lied, saying she was looking for a classmate, but the security guard was so strict that he demanded she name the specific villa and the owner’s name so they could call to confirm.
Sang Ying could not answer. When the security guard saw their simple and plain attire, he knew they were not looking for a classmate. He immediately acted condescending and tried to chase them away.
“Get out, get out. Just by looking at your poor, pathetic appearance, I know you are scammers. Do you know what kind of people live here? Are these people you can even hope to reach? Get out of here right now!”
The security guard’s attitude was not good, and he pushed Ding Han with both hands. Ding Han was already feeling guilty, and she fell down following the push.
Sang Ying went over to help her up and turned to accuse the security guard. “We are leaving, but why are you pushing people? Is this how you act as a security guard in this place?”
Having worked in the villa district for many years, the security guard had always known who he could provoke and who he could not. He was arrogant toward the two of them, who had no background. “Who are you to tell me how to do my job? You pathetic people want to come to this place? Get lost!”
“We will leave, but please apologize to my friend…” Sang Ying glanced at the surveillance camera overhead. “This is a society ruled by law. Based on this surveillance alone, I can report this to the police.”
The security guard wanted to say something, but a black car drove over and stopped at the gate. As soon as the security guard saw the license plate, he knew who it was. He immediately wore a flattering smile and pressed the gate opener in his hand. The gate slowly opened, and the black car started to move.
Seeing the security guard’s ugly face, Sang Ying became stubborn. “Please apologize!”
Ding Han pulled at her. “Forget it, Shadow Sister, let us go.”
The black car suddenly stopped. The rear window rolled down. Seeing this, the security guard ignored Sang Ying and ran over in two or three steps. “Ms. Xia, do you have any instructions?”
