- The Fallen Beauty Becomes the Mob Boss’s Possession
- Chapter 4 - You Must Not Look at Me Like That
Once they reached the villa, Shen Yuzhi dragged Qin Huai out of the car. He gripped Qin Huai’s wrist tightly and hauled him toward the guest room.
Qin Huai was thrown onto the sofa. Before he could react, Shen Yuzhi loomed over him, forcibly tearing at his wedding attire. His eyes were bloodshot, as if consumed by a primal bloodlust.
The top-tier Alpha’s overwhelming pheromones pressed in on Qin Huai from every direction. Qin Huai felt a sharp, stinging pain radiating throughout his body, growing more intense by the second. Looking up at Shen Yuzhi’s face, he struggled weakly, feeling helpless and terrified for the first time.
Tears welled in Qin Huai’s eyes. He reached out to grab Shen Yuzhi’s hand, sobbing, “Shen Yuzhi, please, do not do this. I beg you, do not do this.”
Shen Yuzhi seemed blinded by a surge of rage. He ignored Qin Huai’s pleas, continuously releasing his pheromones as if trying to brand Qin Huai with his scent, ensuring everyone knew this person was his Omega.
Shen Yuzhi seized Qin Huai by the throat and kissed him deeply. Qin Huai trembled violently, his fingertips turning a pale, bloodless white, and the color drained completely from his lips. Large drops of tears flowed from his eyes, falling between their lips.
Qin Huai was truly terrified. Too weak to resist, he begged Shen Yuzhi in the most humble tone possible. “Please, do not do this. Do not treat me this way.”
“Shen Yuzhi, I am scared.”
Shen Yuzhi’s movements faltered. He seemed to snap out of his trance, loosening his grip on Qin Huai. He looked down at the Omega beneath him, whose face was stained with tears and whose eyes were swollen red. He did not understand where this inexplicable fury had come from.
He had been separated from Qin Huai for five years. He was supposed to hate him, yet his possessiveness toward him remained incredibly intense, especially after seeing him walk toward the altar while holding Ling Feng’s hand today. Jealousy had driven him nearly insane.
This was the raw, possessive instinct of an Alpha toward an Omega. If an Alpha’s possessiveness was strong enough, he would inevitably show deep hostility and threat toward any peer who got close to his Omega. Many Alphas, to ensure their Omega stayed by their side, would perform a permanent mark, publicly claiming the Omega as their own through their scent.
However, Shen Yuzhi refused to admit to these feelings. To him, there was only hatred toward Qin Huai. Even if his emotions were manipulated by this man, he vowed never to be deceived again. He would never let him hurt him a second time.
Shen Yuzhi stood up, ripped off his tie, and tossed it aside. As he turned to leave, he threw a final sentence over his shoulder: “Qin Huai, whatever I do to you, you will endure it.”
Qin Huai curled into a ball. Emerging from his shock, he trembled uncontrollably, tears sliding silently down his cheeks. He knew Shen Yuzhi hated him. He hated him enough to use his pheromones to suppress him. He knew he would eventually face this, but standing before Shen Yuzhi, his heart ached so intensely he could barely breathe. He could not accept being humiliated and tortured by someone he had loved so deeply.
In the days that followed, Qin Huai remained in Shen Yuzhi’s home, though he did not see him again. He was locked inside, free to do anything except leave.
Only now did Qin Huai realize how much Shen Yuzhi hated him. He hated him enough to seize this opportunity to take his revenge. He could not stay here forever. There were still things belonging to his mother within the Cheng family, and he had to secure his rightful inheritance before Cheng An could act.
“Housekeeper Liu, when will Shen Yuzhi return?”
Housekeeper Liu smiled respectfully and replied truthfully, “Mr. Shen has been busy with company matters lately. He cannot get away for the time being. If Mr. Qin needs anything, I can relay it to him.”
Qin Huai shook his head. “I am fine. You may go about your business.”
Qin Huai realized this was not a viable path. Seeing the servants cleaning the courtyard, he went to the front garden, and when no one was looking, he swiped a phone from the tea table and dialed Song Zhe’s number.
It took a long time for the other end to pick up.
“Who is this?” Song Zhe asked. “I am in a meeting. If you have something to discuss, do it later.”
Qin Huai exhaled, speaking quickly before the call was cut. “Song Zhe, it is me.”
“Little Huai? Why is it you? Did Shen Yuzhi not snatch you away from your wedding? Shouldn’t you be off enjoying your honeymoon? How do you have the heart to call me?”
Qin Huai sighed, helpless. “I have been imprisoned by him.”
“What?” Song Zhe stood up from his chair, causing a commotion in the meeting room; the people around him shot him curious glances. Song Zhe signaled them to be quiet. “What on earth happened?”
“I cannot explain it in a few words. Hurry and send someone to save me. I have urgent matters to attend to.”
“All right, Little Huai, wait for me. You must wait. I am coming to save you right now.”
With that, Song Zhe hung up.
Qin Huai removed the number from the call history and replaced the phone on the tea table. He suddenly felt a bit worried. Although they had been friends since childhood, he still felt Song Zhe could be unreliable. To him, Song Zhe always acted like a child.
However, this time, Song Zhe did not drag his feet. A few hours later, he heard someone calling to him from downstairs. Qin Huai opened the window and looked out, seeing Song Zhe waving at him from below.
“Little Huai, I am here! I have come to save you!”
Song Zhe walked over, holding a towing rope. Behind him, a group of people followed, carrying a large inflatable cushion.
Qin Huai had a bad premonition. “You expect me to go down using this?”
“Shen Yuzhi’s bodyguards are incredibly stubborn; they would not open the door even for money. I have no other choice,” Song Zhe said. “Little Huai, just bear with it.”
Song Zhe tossed the rope up, and Qin Huai caught it accurately. He had been mountaineering before and knew a thing or two about high-risk maneuvers, but looking at the flimsy-looking rope, he was hesitant to start.
“Little Huai, do not hesitate! While everyone is asleep, hurry down! If we get caught, Shen Yuzhi will definitely kill me!”
While Qin Huai was just finding his footing, Song Zhe was already chattering away below.
Relying on his past experience, Qin Huai landed accurately. Seeing him safe, Song Zhe rushed over and hugged him, rubbing his head against Qin Huai’s chest. “Little Huai, we have not seen each other in months. I have missed you to death.”
Qin Huai felt a bit suffocated. He patted Song Zhe’s back. “All right, all right, let go. We will talk after we get out of here.”
Song Zhe took him to a bar—a space exclusively for Omegas, where they could do as they pleased, safe from the harassment of adult Alphas. Having just returned a few days ago, Song Zhe was bursting with curiosity and pestered Qin Huai with questions.
“Little Huai, did Ling Feng touch you?”
“How did Shen Yuzhi play the hero yesterday?”
“How do you manage to make men unable to forget you?”
Song Zhe’s barrage of questions left Qin Huai dazed. He took a long drink of alcohol and muttered, “It is all just miserable business. Let us not talk about it.”
“Fine!” Song Zhe shouted, causing people around them to turn and stare. Qin Huai was startled.
“If Little Huai does not want to talk about it, we will not! Men only ruin our progress!”
“Come, drink! Let us drink until we drop!”
Qin Huai smiled, shaking his head. Song Zhe truly was like a child.
It had been a long time since Qin Huai felt this relaxed. Ever since Shen Chengde brought him back to the country, he had endured the constant, snide remarks of Lin Xingxue and Cheng An; there had not been a single peaceful day at the Cheng household. He was a talented designer with a reputation abroad, but after returning, all the invitations from high-society clients had been turned down by Shen Chengde, who held Qin Lan hostage to control him.
As it stood, Qin Huai was effectively unemployed.
Qin Huai set down his glass. “Song Zhe, can you do me a favor?”
“Little Huai, why are you being so polite? Besides murder and arson, I will do anything for you!”
Qin Huai looked at Song Zhe, his voice firm. “Help me get a job at the Shen Corporation.”
“Sure, leave it to me. But it might take a while,” Song Zhe said, taking Qin Huai’s hand. “Little Huai, for now, just stick with me. Let us eat, drink, and play. Just enjoy yourself for a while.”
Qin Huai felt grateful to have a friend as good as Song Zhe. He curled his lips into a small smile and whispered, “Okay.”
