The Fake Young Master Got the Disabled Tycoon Pregnant. - Chapter 2
Jiang Ning followed Lu Zhihan out of the school. Seeing the luxury car parked at the gate, he had a fleeting sense of déjà vu.
He had been into cars for years.
At first glance, this pure white luxury van seemed unremarkable, but its brand was anything but. The entire vehicle cost at least ten million a price tag that would have made him hesitate and suck in a breath even in the past.
Lu Zhihan’s assistant opened the door. The modified vehicle featured a built-in ramp for easy access.
With a simple press of a button on his electric wheelchair, Lu Zhihan could board the car independently, without needing anyone’s help.
Inside, one of the spacious rear seats had been removed to create a dedicated space for securing the wheelchair.
“Get in,” Lu Zhihan said.
“Oh,” Jiang Ning replied, then sat down beside him.
The car slowly pulled away.
He couldn’t help but think about that strange app from today.
It can grant all his wishes?
So, it works like this?
He had read many novels and seen countless movies where windfall gains—like winning the lottery—were used as a plausible plot device.
With Lu Zhihan’s immense wealth, Jiang Ning’s few small wishes were practically negligible. The only thing that truly bothered him was the app’s final answer.
Pregnant?
Is that even possible?
Jiang Ning glanced at Lu Zhihan. Setting aside the fact that he was a man, even if he had the ability, his severe leg injury would likely make it impossible.
He stared so blatantly that the assistant and secretary in the car broke out in a cold sweat.
This little brat has some nerve, they thought.
Ever since Mr. Lu was injured in a car accident several years ago, the wounds on his legs had slowly healed over time, but the damage to his spinal nerves was irreversible.
From then on, Mr. Lu was confined to a wheelchair, and his legs tacitly became a taboo topic that no one dared to mention.
The car drove all the way into the villa district, the most expensive area in the city.
Jiang Ning remembered his old man trying to buy a place here, but he couldn’t even get past the initial financial verification for a viewing.
After the car stopped, Jiang Ning got out.
The moment he stepped inside, he immediately noticed how unique the building was.
There were no thresholds or steps. All the switches and fixtures throughout the house were set low, and it was fully equipped with emergency buttons and handrails.
Clearly, all these features were designed for Lu Zhihan’s barrier-free access.
Lu Zhihan pressed a virtual button on the armrest of his electric wheelchair, and it glided forward at a steady pace. Honestly, the whole setup looked pretty cool—like equipment for a protagonist in a sci-fi movie.
While Jiang Ning was still staring in a daze, Lu Zhihan had already entered the private elevator on the first floor.
“Come here.”
“Oh,” Jiang Ning said, walking over to enter the elevator. He looked up just as the doors slowly slid shut.
The two assistants and the secretary remained standing quietly where they were, not following.
“Aren’t they coming up?”
“I need to speak with you alone.”
What’s so mysterious about it?
Jiang Ning glanced down at Lu Zhihan beside him. He wasn’t worried at all that Lu Zhihan might do something to him.
On the contrary, he wondered why such a wealthy man would let someone of unknown origin like him be alone with him. Wasn’t he afraid that a “thug” like him might take the opportunity to kidnap a hostage and commit some heinous crime?
With a ding, the elevator doors opened, and Jiang Ning snapped out of his thoughts.
The second floor was decorated in the same overall style as the first—simple, clean, and elegant—but with a touch more warmth.
He followed Lu Zhihan to a door and instinctively reached out to push it open.
As he approached, the door slid open automatically.
“Whoa.”
Jiang Ning exclaimed like someone who had never seen the world.
“Every door in this house is equipped with an automatic sensor,” Lu Zhihan said, maneuvering his wheelchair. “Come in.”
Jiang Ning’s first reaction upon entering was: So many books.
This study was practically a miniature library. An entire wall was covered in books, all categorized by genre, and as he walked further in, he saw several more bookshelves.
Jiang Ning frowned deeply.
He was a master of small talk and banter, but the sight of books always gave him a headache.
“Are all these yours?”
“Yes. This is just a part of them. The ones I don’t use often are in the attic.”
Jiang Ning gave a thumbs-up. “You’re incredible.”
He randomly pulled out a book: Information Technology and Security.
This is way too dry, he thought. This guy looks like he’s got plenty of money. Why on earth would he torture himself with a book like this?
“Jiang Ning, come sit down.”
Jiang Ning hastily shoved the book back and sat down at the red sandalwood desk, slouching with his hands in his pockets. A bruise from an unknown injury still marked his cheek.
Even though he had already investigated Jiang Ning, it was only upon meeting him face-to-face that Lu Zhihan realized how the Jiang family had raised his long-secreted fiancé—and then kicked him out.
He had only learned about this after returning to the country recently.
Even if Jiang Ning ultimately refused to marry him, Lu Zhihan had already decided to take responsibility for his education, fulfilling the late aunt’s request.
“Do you know why I’m looking for you?” Lu Zhihan asked.
Jiang Ning’s hand tightened around his phone in his pocket. The same thought he’d had in the car resurfaced.
Could that app really be working?
Otherwise, how could it be such a coincidence? I just chose to fulfill my wish, and the next thing I know, a rich sucker like this is sent my way.
He asked tentatively, “Someone sent you to find me, didn’t they?”
“You could interpret it that way.”
It was true that he had come because of that marriage contract.
Lu Zhihan took out a neatly bound stack of contracts and pushed it in front of him. “You can look over the contents here.”
Jiang Ning picked up the contract.
Back at the Jiang family home, he had seen his older brother and other businessmen smoking cigars and bragging while negotiating deals.
But this was the first time he had personally handled something like a “contract.”
The black ink on white paper was filled with formal, archaic language.
Jiang Ning felt like he recognized every single word, yet when they were put together, it was like reading Classical Chinese, and it made his head ache.
Perhaps sensing his impatience, Lu Zhihan said, “To put it simply, the contents of this contract state that I will provide for all your reasonable expenses, including food, clothing, housing, and transportation. In exchange, you must abide by the terms I’ve set. They’re listed under the Party B section.”
Jiang Ning flipped to the back and saw the terms for Party B—
- Abide by the middle school’s rules and regulations. Have no major disciplinary actions during school. Respect teachers and be friendly to classmates.
- Have no bad habits (including but not limited to swearing, smoking, drinking, and gambling).
- Do not engage in early romantic relationships during middle school.
- Complete your education from middle school through university.
What the hell is this??
Was this guy trying to adopt him and become his father? Why was he being so controlling??
He glanced at Lu Zhihan’s legs under the blanket.
Fuck.
It was actually fucking possible.
Lu Zhihan’s voice was calm. “Is there a problem?”
A huge problem!
“I can’t do any of these things you’re asking.”
“Which one specifically?”
Jiang Ning pointed his finger. “This, this, this, and this—I can’t do any of it. And as for going to college, I couldn’t get in even if I added up my scores from ten different exams.”
This was just him being difficult.
Why didn’t he tell him about these complicated requirements when he was making the wish?
Lu Zhihan fell silent for a moment.
He had seen Jiang Ning’s academic transcripts in the files. At first, he thought there was a recording error, but later he found out there wasn’t.
Aside from English, where Jiang Ning’s score was barely passing, all his other subjects were equally abysmal.
Seeing Lu Zhihan remain silent, Jiang Ning quickly said, “I don’t need to go to school. I can still get a job without it.”
“No,” Lu Zhihan said. “You must meet these conditions. There is no room for negotiation. There is still some time before the college entrance exam. I can hire a private tutor—”
“Tch.” Jiang Ning stood up. “I said I can’t do it. If you want a good student so badly, go find one.”
Lu Zhihan frowned slightly. “Are you sure you can’t do it?”
Under Lu Zhihan’s gaze, Jiang Ning gradually calmed down.
Only after the surge of anger subsided did he realize his reaction had been too extreme.
Where else could you find such a generous offer? he thought. It’s not every day you come across such a sucker. So what if the requirements are a bit odd? Being someone’s cheap son?
As long as he agreed, he could return to that comfortable, wealthy lifestyle.
Jiang Ning cursed himself for being an idiot.
Unable to resist, he took out his phone again and opened the app.
The interface was still on the screen from when he had last exited:
[ We will help you fulfill your virtual desires. ]
Is Lu Zhihan really here to help him realize his wishes?
A flicker of confused uncertainty flashed in Jiang Ning’s eyes, but he quickly suppressed it.
Even if he couldn’t fulfill the terms of the contract, he refused to go back to that stagnant, dead-end life.
Jiang Ning picked up the pen and signed his name on the contract. “Is this enough?”
Lu Zhihan hummed in acknowledgment and placed the contract in the drawer. “I’ve already requested a leave of absence from the school for you. You can rest here for today.”
As he spoke, he pressed a button on the desk.
A moment later, there was a knock on the door.
The butler’s voice came from outside, “Young Master Jiang, please follow me.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Jiang Ning followed him out.
The butler looked to be around sixty. Though his back was slightly stooped, he was spirited and alert, exuding a quiet elegance honed by time.
Jiang Ning couldn’t help but recall his own “cheap father.” They were about the same age, but his father had squandered his health on women, leaving him looking frail and withered.
“Young Master Jiang, this is your room,” the butler said with a smile, opening the door for him. “If you need anything or find anything missing, please let me know directly.”
The room was spacious and bright, its light-colored decor creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. Outside the balcony, an unobstructed view revealed a serene, azure-blue natural lake and a lush forest.
This stunning scenery was precisely why the property was so expensive.
Compared to living in a remote suburb, this kind of “quiet in the heart of the city” was the most luxurious and costly enjoyment of all.
Jiang Ning gazed at the sun-drenched lake for a long time, until his eyes grew sore. Only then did he pull his gaze away and turn back to the room.
Unlike the guest room, this one was far from empty.
Jiang Ning walked over and opened the wardrobe to find it filled with neatly categorized, brand-new clothes. He checked the tags.
They were his size.
And they were from a brand he used to wear often.
He then approached the desk, where a stack of new workbooks and study guides caught his eye.
But he had no interest in even glancing at them. Instead, he reached out and opened the box on the desk.
Inside the box lay a mobile phone.
Jiang Ning picked it up and found it was the exact same model as his own. But his phone, long since battered and scarred by his own recklessness, was a far cry from the brand-new one Lu Zhihan had given him.
