Chapter 21: “Are You Satisfied with My Performance These Two Times?”
Four years ago, on the second day of the Lunar New Year.
The Rong family and the Jiang family were old family friends. Every New Year, Rong Wei’s family would visit Jiang Nansheng’s home.
Originally, that day was Jiang Nansheng’s day off, but on that particular day, Jiang Nansheng had a last-minute work commitment and wasn’t home.
Rong Wei happened to need to find Jiang Nansheng for something, so after lunch, she proactively went to Jiang Nansheng’s workplace to wait for her.
Jiang Nansheng was a psychiatrist, and her work hours were not to be disturbed. Rong Wei simply waited outside the consultation room, handling her own work.
About half an hour later.
From the doorway of Jiang Nansheng’s office, Rong Wei saw a slender, even delicate woman.
She recognized her: the supermodel her sister often talked about, the bright and unrestrained person she had seen at the fashion show.
However, this time, she looked somewhat dispirited, her brows lowered, her mood clearly low, like a flower that had weathered a storm and was about to wither.
Soon after, Jiang Nansheng came out of the consultation room. The two met, casually chatted about family matters, and then went to find a place for a spa together.
After these two encounters, Rong Wei had a general impression of Jiang Yu, but that was it.
They should have been strangers, traveling on separate tracks, never converging except for accidental bumps.
Unexpectedly, a few months later, Rong Wei saw her at the Civil Affairs Bureau.
And from that moment on, their separate and distinct tracks seemed to show a tendency to meet.
…
At this moment, it was half past midnight.
Rong Wei retracted her thoughts, stood up, tidied up briefly, and returned to the bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, Jiang Yu’s breathing was already very steady. Her figure was slender, and curled up in the quilt, there was almost no movement. She looked like a tiny bundle.
Rong Wei subtly took all of this in, then turned off the light, lay down on the bed, and closed her eyes.
Throughout the deep sleep, there was none of the intimacy from earlier. They remained distinctly separate, neither actively moving closer to the other.
…
The executive suite had excellent soundproofing. The master bedroom was quiet, and the serene, dim environment was an ideal resting place.
Jiang Yu was still very tired today, perhaps even more so than the last time.
Because of this, she slept very well all night.
All changes occurred near dawn. She vaguely sensed the outside getting brighter, and her consciousness returned somewhat, but she couldn’t open her eyes no matter what.
She was in a small room with no windows and only white walls.
She wasn’t sure where this was, but she felt a strong smell of disinfectant. This pungent odor made her whole body feel uncomfortable.
It was like her throat was being constricted, making it impossible to breathe.
Not only that, Jiang Yu gradually realized she was tied to a chair. Unlike the sensual pleasure in her memory of BDSM, this kind of bondage only made her feel suffocated and unbearable, close to madness.
The white walls suddenly contracted, square and tight, rushing toward her, as if they could swallow her whole.
Just one second before being crushed by the walls.
Jiang Yu suddenly opened her eyes, finally regaining consciousness.
Breaking free from the nightmare, Jiang Yu let out a long sigh and released her hands that had instinctively gripped the bedsheet tightly.
After lying in bed for a while longer, Jiang Yu recovered her senses, sat up, and prepared to fully wake up. It was only then that she noticed the spot next to her was empty again.
However, she didn’t feel any excess emotion, as she didn’t think someone like Rong Wei would go back on her word.
She was probably just awake and got up early.
Jiang Yu pulled out her phone and checked the time.
It was barely six in the morning; the sun had only just risen.
This person’s energy is as abundant as ever.
Jiang Yu thought expressionlessly. As her consciousness returned, she instinctively rubbed her wrist again.
After one night, the pain on her wrist had completely disappeared. Now, she couldn’t detect any discomfort.
There was no physical discomfort. Ignoring the nightmare, Jiang Yu could confirm once more that her mental state was exceptionally robust.
It was almost identical to her state after sleeping with Rong Wei the last time.
And after last night, she realized more and more that in certain unexplored areas, she and Rong Wei shared an oddly perfect tacit understanding.
All in all, both times, she felt satisfied and refreshed.
Perhaps they could have a long-term future regarding this kind of thing.
Jiang Yu didn’t linger in bed. She braced herself and prepared to get up.
Habit was a terrifying thing. It was only the second time, but Jiang Yu was surprisingly able to ignore the pain after such absurdity. Even more, she realized that this subtle physical discomfort could make her spirit feel nourished.
Jiang Yu’s thoughts became more certain. She got out of bed, finished washing up, and walked out of the bedroom.
Rong Wei had indeed not left, but she had already changed into an outfit and was standing facing the window.
She was tall and had a habit of rock climbing, so her figure was definitely not frail. She possessed a very healthy and mature feminine charm. She was holding her phone, the sunlight hitting the back of her hand, making her knuckles and veins more pronounced. Under the white shirt, she looked composed and reserved.
Jiang Yu, being mindful, stopped and stayed in the bedroom for a while longer. When she felt the time was right, she walked back out.
At that moment, Rong Wei had just put down the phone and turned around.
Inevitably, their eyes met.
Jiang Yu smiled and greeted her: “Good morning, CEO Rong.”
Rong Wei walked over slowly, sat on the sofa, and smiled in reply: “You’re quite early too.”
Jiang Yu naturally sat down on the sofa as well.
However, this time, they maintained some distance.
After all, it was morning, and they both had work soon. Time might not allow for anything more. Moreover, Jiang Yu didn’t want to overindulge and invite trouble.
In the silence, Rong Wei raised an eyebrow and directly asked, “What did you want to talk to me about last night?”
Rong Wei was direct, so Jiang Yu didn’t beat around the bush and said immediately: “It’s actually about the two of us.”
“The two of us?” Rong Wei countered, a hint of a smile in her voice.
Jiang Yu said calmly: “Yes.”
“Then tell me,” Rong Wei said concisely.
Jiang Yu: “I want to know what your thoughts are regarding me, CEO Rong.”
Rong Wei raised an eyebrow, changed her posture, and rested her hand lightly on the back of the sofa, looking comfortable and relaxed.
She just looked at Jiang Yu leisurely, not speaking for a moment.
Jiang Yu wasn’t overly nervous. Realizing her previous statement might be ambiguous, she quickly added: “Or to be more precise, are you satisfied with my performance these two times?”
